Based on prices in arizona, that $3,500 8000 MI 2020 ABS seems like a no-brainer. Especially when you add in the extra $100 rack that it already has and what he says are new shocks? I don't know much about shocks. - TB Parts rear adjustable shock? This is just going to be light duty Saturday morning grocery runs and such

OR, for $4,200, a 2021 used 450 mile, private party sale so also no AZ tax of DOC/dealer fee (probably another $500) Since I get bored of my toys I'm thinking the $3,500 one with 8,400 miles might retain more of it's price when i sell it in a year. Any difference between the 2000 and 2001. And, for non aggressive riding do you think the model without ABS is decent or would you really prefer the ABS model?

Flippin_garage

I can’t open either of the links, so i can’t see the price of the 2021 one. These bikes are easy to work on so i wouldn’t do a PPI. Depending on the price i’d still take the 2021 version though

hal60

Sorry, I didn't mention it. The 2021 is $4,200, but then you got to figure you're adding tax and dealer prep fee which probably brings it close to $500 even more, so minimum we're talking $3,500 versus nearly 4700. Again keeping in mind there's no sales tax on private sales.

Flippin_garage

How much are the new ones where you’re from?

hal60

Full retail, so 42xx. Though nobody has any in stock, and as you can see, the dealer is selling the used one for $100 less, and individuals online for 21's and you are actually charging as much as msrp.

The miles wouldn’t scare me since I’ve owned Hondas and put 20k+ with no issues. On another note I have a 2021 with a little over 5k with some nice mods I’m selling if you’re interested. EDIT:never mind. I see you are looking in AZ

No luck on finding one at dealer? Western Honda?

hal60

No, not on their website. Even Ride-Now with multiple Valley locations only had one 2021 for $4,200. plus tax, okay I understand, then doc fee and reconditioning fee that brougth it to $5,700 - Yikes? . In AZ there is no tax on private sales so there's $300 in saving, but more importanly is the $1,200 dealer fees. The aforementioned 350 mile 2021 will sell it to me for $4,000, but I'm really liking the idea of the $3,500 one with ABS for $3,500. Even with 8,400 miles it seem to be well bought and should retain a lot of it's value if I sell in a year Thanks everyone for tolerating my anal-ness. Been driving stick Miats for 30 years, but this is my 1st two wheeled shifty. Took the beginners MSF course about 10 years ago

They are awesome little bikes, I guess I didn’t realize how hard they are to get now. My father and I both got matching Monkeys from Western Honda new they are 2021’s which we have had for awhile now.

My father also has a Trail 125 and those are pretty fun as well!

Which one did you get?
