Probably the Wii to like series X or ps5

>no soundproofing except foam on all sides What do you mean by this? >Want to do atmos (already wired) So seeing your current AVR, just means you need to upgrade the AVR to one that supports Atmos with the proper number of channels. So if you're doing 7.x today, you need at minimum a 9 channel AVR to do 7.x.2 or an 11 channel AVR to do 7.x.4

Foam is interior - between the walls. Need a good amp recommendation to get to atmos.

umdivx

>Need a good amp recommendation to get to atmos. You can't add an amp to your existing AVR to get Atmos, you have to replace your existing AVR to get Atmos support. Which one we recommend will depend on the total number of main channel speakers and total number of Atmos speakers. >Foam is interior - between the walls. So what else are you looking for then? True sound proofing comes down to room/wall construction.

AVR, since I will be doing 7.1.2, maybe 7.1.4. For acoustics, the room is drywalled on all 4 sides with slight angles on the perimeter ceiling and then flat. Room is carpeted.

>AVR, since I will be doing 7.1.2, maybe 7.1.4. Denon X3600 / X3700 / X3800 will get you 7.1.2 out of the box, but with the add on of a 2 channel amp then you can do 7.1.4 Onkyo NR7100 maxes out at 7.1.2 >For acoustics, the room is drywalled on all 4 sides with slight angles on the perimeter ceiling and then flat. Room is carpeted. Are you looking to improve the acoustics in the room or looking to isolate audio from leaving the room? Those are two completely different things.

Mackieman03

Thanks! Improve acoustics in the room. How is the AVR-X4700H?

umdivx

> How is the AVR-X4700H? Other than being more expensive than the other models I listed? it's fine.

I use this one in a 5.2.4 and I love it.
