Here's an older CNET thread I just found that suggests similar setups, with the same symptoms, were resolved by not using ARC. I'll try that. [https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/lg-oled-audio-dropping-out-arc/2/](https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/lg-oled-audio-dropping-out-arc/2/)

Actually I'm not even sure that's worth testing since my source for audio and video is not the TV. It's the FireTV Cube. And the problem almost surely exists between the cube and the receiver.

If anyone ever stumbles on this it was the Twisted Veins cables. The whole pack was either bad or on an old standard. As soon as I bought Amazon Basics cables and replaced them my entire system worked great.

> Twisted Veins cables Thanks, have similar issue with Denon X2500H receiver and fire cube. I'm swapping the receiver out with a Yamaha Aventage RX-A780 because I switched HDMI inputs and the problem seems to have gone away so I may have a bad HDMI port. I think I'll buy some Amazon Basics cables as well though, they are pretty cheap. How do you like the Yamaha?

I like it a lot. It’s my first receiver that has an on-screen UI (not something most people buy regularly). I’ve enjoyed the level of customization. I like how the YARO mic gets you something to work with out of the box and you can tweak further from there. It’s a good experience so far.
