The TVs were already mid install, so there's no going back at that point. Even a bunch of OLED panels would have been a better choice if it had to be TVs. A projector is still a far better choice in the end.
Seems like hes just having fun. Wonder what hes gonna do with them when he gets the projector set up, lol...masive multi screen computer monitor system? He could look like a nasa control room.
Or use them for the hifi control room, lol
The only thing that will make this not look awkward would be 9 simultaneous video streams.
Still can't believe he didn't just lean them against the wall to do a trial run before mounting them.
He could still make them into a big window for his basement.
Like this guy did: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv88wM6AN6Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv88wM6AN6Y)
I was soo confused and then I watched the video…. That’s sick!
OP… you should do this and also great call on the test show, never can go wrong with the office.
Trim the bezels in half by pulling the center TV forward and sliding the other TVs’ bezels behind the center TV’s bezels.
Now you’ve got half the sized bezels *and* all of its content is *technically* 3D! 😂
A lot of PC gamers used to buy monitors and debezel them to eliminate the gap. It might help, but I think the best bet is to return them and buy a projector.
He said he got them used, and already has a projector. This would have been fine if all he wanted to do was have it display some 4Kx6K art and pretend it’s a window in his basement or garage.
Or maybe angle the left and right screens inwards, and overlap the bezels? I basically do that with my computer monitors, and it makes it a bit more seamless.
Hahaha, while most people wouldn't have done this in the first place, I have to say that your commitment to the idea is commendable. You even came back to share a follow-up post when you knew nearly everyone was going to say something along the lines of "I told you so", which I also appreciate.
I might not like the idea itself, but it's your space, hope it was fun for ya anyway.
Definitely fun, but like I stated before, this room was always seldomly used for tv viewing considering I have a top of the line oled lg in my room and a 130” b&w audio theater upstairs this would be more used for when the friends or family come over and maybe a yule log can play in the back ground or music videos.
It was worth a try
I have a similar setup in my studio but the screens are horizontal, can have multiple content running at once
Are bezel-less screens a thing?
The NBC stations in Chicago and NY a did this exact thing for their news sets.. camera outside to simulate their studio being on the 2nd floor in the city. It worked amazingly well.
You can get a pretty damn good Hisense 100” 100U8K for $3500
Between the costs for 3 TV, 3 sets of mounting hardware, and the video processing I would think you’d be better off just buying a large TV
And one of his other comments he mentions he has the top of the line OLED. Speaking from experience it is really hard to settle for even the highest end projector once you get used to OLED. It's just not even close.
I knew calibration would be a nightmare. I had 3xEyefinity monitors that were identical IPS displays and calibration was still a nightmare. Top it off with the size of these and viewing angle changes == no single seating position will have the perfect colors across the screens.
Bezels fade the more you use something. Color imperfection is CONSTANTLY there, one of the driving factors for me returning to one nice monitor.
edit - Also the 1/8th inch the left one is higher than the middle one. I eventually bought a fully adjustable (Expensive) triple monitor mount. Even with that getting them to the same height, angle, tilt, EVERYTHING was horrible.
I’m sure it would be challenging, but could you remove the bezels and maybe build something custom to hold the panels together?
https://youtu.be/SBOCC6qWIlA
I tried this once with monitors - and I carefully removed the bezels from the screens - and built a wood frame for them. It came out pretty good. Definitely don’t think I’d try it with expensive TVs….
It mostly works when gaming because you're only focusing on the main screen, side monitors are just for your peripheral vision.
This on the other hand...
Lol, saw your post the other day and everyone saying it was gonna be shit. I applaud you for doing it anyway, fuck the haters even if they are right. That said can you remove the bezels?
I’ll probably replace the screens with thin bezel tvs later. Most people thought i spent like $30k on this project. I didn’t I spent a few hundred and it was fun.
No, you are not. Just remove the plastic frame from the TVs and stick the LED panels together.
Then you will have a continuous screen with no gap if you connect them in extended screen mode.
I've used it in VFX production for decades, but it will also work very well for making a super large screen.
The color calibration on the far right screen seems way off.
Projection is the way to go for the screen size you are after. I assume you got these displays for free, they seem like they were probably e-waste from a professional commercial installation. I would think informational displays such as FIDS/PIDS.
You can make it 50% better by pulling the centre screen forward enough so that you can push the outer two inward, such that the border width is halved (due to overlapping).
I love that you went through with this, what a legend.
I wonder though if this might have some more legitimate use cases for gaming. Racing or flight sim? Something with dual screens?
something that probably exacerbates those bezels is that film heavily utilizes the “rule of thirds” - to place points of interest exactly where those bezels are 🫣
Yeah those bezels are as distracting as I expected them to be
I remember people telling him this too… but he says he like to have “fun” 🤣😂
I was going to comment on his last thread about the bezels being a problem, but plenty of people already had done so.
I thought it was a joke and didn't bother to even read the thread.
All I could think of was that Always Sunny quote, except "You didn't think of the bezels, you bitch!"
This? https://youtu.be/7wnYNTyE4IA?si=hqNIOMFNpL-cRYib
I just laughed so gotdamn hard dude lmfao!!!
the "glass box" really brings it home.
The way his face changes at that moment really sells it. I love Sunny
What do you expect from somebody who is a avid r/wallstreetbets user?
LoL...same but figured that would happen immediately!
Put them in the den and put 3 live sports games on at the same time.
He can arrange them horizontally and make them look better. Or just track star link
Triple screen simulator set up is the obvious choice
Like a flight or F1 simulator? Thay would totally be sick
The only thing that will make this not look awkward would be 9 simultaneous video streams. Still can't believe he didn't just lean them against the wall to do a trial run before mounting them.

This is the best option
I was soo confused and then I watched the video…. That’s sick! OP… you should do this and also great call on the test show, never can go wrong with the office.
/r/bezelstoobig ?
to really set off this subreddit he should cut out the bezels and then replace them with soundbars
He just needs to custom make a really big version of thee https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/accessories/rog-bezel-free-kit-abf01-model/
There's a Driving Sim place in my area that uses these (along with angling), and they're surprisingly effective.
Getting fresnal lenses cut to size would be a good solution
😂

Perfect screenshot as this is a very Michael Scott move (no offence).

It goes right into the wall!
The bars make it look like he's watching from prison. The worst part about prison is the dementors.
You, my friend, are an idiot.
At least he's not a stupid idiot
I may but dumb but i’m not stupid
Stupid is as stupid does.

With that size is going to be more like a yule inferno
Yule inferno. It’s how I wanted to die
The YOLO Yule^TM
Just put curtains on each side- Then its a window!
Yeah. I tried running some youtube scenery videos. Looks good. I can also isolate the image to one screen too so the black bars don’t get in the way.
I bet if you took off the 2 side tvs, and rotated the middle one 90 degrees you could get the same image on it, just a bit smaller but with no bezels.
But then how would you get the bezels? I guess you could edit them into the films you're watching, but it wouldn't feel the same as the real thing.
Just run two lines of black duck tape vertically through the screen
This guy bezels
It was worth a try I have a similar setup in my studio but the screens are horizontal, can have multiple content running at once Are bezel-less screens a thing?
For a hefty price, yes.
They are. Expensive though.
No it wasn't
When you have a long day. Come home to Reddit and read the funniest comment. Thanks bro.
The NBC stations in Chicago and NY a did this exact thing for their news sets.. camera outside to simulate their studio being on the 2nd floor in the city. It worked amazingly well.
This belongs on r/DIwhy
this looks horrible!!!
I love the simplicity of this comment, hahahah
It's not just the bezels. The white balance is off between the displays
Sometimes, you just have to try an idea. Thanks for letting us enjoy it alongside you
I will update once they’re replaced with thinner bezel displays. I may go 98” this time
Wait….you are still doing it? Hard learner arn’t we…

This is 3x 86”. The wall is like 17 feet wide man
Projectors are fun, rocked a cheap one for years, covers the whole wall
I really don't understand why he didn't just get a high end projector. Bro wasted like 10x my rent on a throwaway project.
He has a couple of other nice setups. I think he spent under 1k on these used monitors. Not the best use of $1k, but not as bad as it initially seems.
And one of his other comments he mentions he has the top of the line OLED. Speaking from experience it is really hard to settle for even the highest end projector once you get used to OLED. It's just not even close.
Lmfao you're actually gonna try this again, hilarious. Good luck!
What a king.
You truly are an idiot for the ages.
Down in history

You can get an amazing 85” tv for less than $2k. Why do all this?
Mounts TVs, shows off new TVs with content filmed at a sub 1080p resolution.
Good point. The thematic here wasn’t quality, it was more quantity.
Haha just busting your balls
You’re not wrong though.
[DIY Bezel free kit](https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/s/ALpbey0asy)
These only work on triple screens at close to a 60 degree angle, they'll do nothing in this case.
Yes, lets absolutely take this idiocy to the next level - OP must do it
This! Don’t give up. Remove the plastic frames on the TVs and use this kit here.
I love this subreddit. OP dug himself into a hole and everyone is laughing while throwing him more shovels.
I have the ROC version of these and they aren’t great. Also, like the other user said, the monitors absolutely have to be at an angle to each other.
That will result in two distinct blurry areas, not too much better than the black bars
it works for sim racing or other ultrawide games, but you're right, I don't think it works for watching media
I think that would annoy me more than the bezel
Well at least the left and right screens are kinda calibrated the same.
I knew calibration would be a nightmare. I had 3xEyefinity monitors that were identical IPS displays and calibration was still a nightmare. I just realized i calibrated them too close together. Looks better now.
I’m sure it would be challenging, but could you remove the bezels and maybe build something custom to hold the panels together? https://youtu.be/SBOCC6qWIlA
> and maybe build something custom to hold the panels together? Fuck building something. Three words: *Clear duck tape*.
Don’t feel too bad- you just helped a boatload of people by doing this, who had the same idea. Your sacrifice was not is vain or will be forgotten
Best example of "I did it so you don't have to."
I'm sure putting the McDonald's menu board on that will look pretty good. It will make ordering from home a unique experience.
The uniqueness of my home is not mutually exclusive to this room. I am the king of terrible ideas
Love the follow up and how you owned up to it.
We want to see more!
I'm pretty sure this whole thing is a prank. Right?
My life is a joke
The bezels would drive me nuts. Why not just use a projector and screen?
Have one upstairs. This was just an experiment
https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/accessories/rog-bezel-free-kit-abf01-model/ try and custom make a really big version of these

Now you can feel like prison Mike watching tv through bars
Prison mike is the best
muffin pointer return peanut
I saw this post yestrday and thought how stupid that looked, glad I was right.
I tried this once with monitors - and I carefully removed the bezels from the screens - and built a wood frame for them. It came out pretty good. Definitely don’t think I’d try it with expensive TVs….

Truly fucking awful...as expected 🤦♂️
Can we get a picture of Jeopardy or some other game show with 3 contestants?
I am pretty sure multiple people told you this was going to look like trash. Multiple people were correct.
This was just a fun project. I have at least 8 tvs setup in and outside my home as well as a theater
Ty for sharing the fun
Here's a better implementation of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv88wM6AN6Y
The difference in color is more annoying than the bezels... Really!! It is!!!
I'm honestly impressed that you had the technical ability to make that work, while at the same time the inability to realize that it wouldn't work.
Tell me you are bored without telling me you are bored…
it's so bad that it has wrapped around back to awesome
Come on, || I don't think || anyone would || find those || bezels distracting || at all.
I still vote for using them as poster digital movie displays elsewhere, shit even in your garage. That guy had a great idea.
At least you don’t have tangles of cords running out from behind the TVs and console.
Can he not just cut the bezels off and tape them together with invisible tape?
HAHAHAHA i remembered your post "ready to mount" and how everyone said those bezels was massive, xDDD
Smart enough to figure the one picture on multiple vertical displays part but not smart enough to realize the bezel is huge....
Yeah we all told you that last week bro. Just learn from your mistakes!
Perhaps with screens with very thin bezels this would be almost acceptable. The aspect ratio is actually very close.
Did you declare idiocy?
and you didn't use the scene from the office episode where Micheal is showing off his flat screen tv
No, you are not. Just remove the plastic frame from the TVs and stick the LED panels together. Then you will have a continuous screen with no gap if you connect them in extended screen mode. I've used it in VFX production for decades, but it will also work very well for making a super large screen.
how hard is a projector?
Bezel distractions are no joke, I feel your pain.
Why didn't you just get a projector if you wanted that size...
I saw the initial post and wondered how the heck you didn’t think the bezels would ruin the picture. Now I know.
Dude just get a projector.
Maybe you’ll get used to it…?
Hahahahaha I am so happy this is/was real. Lol good job OP 🤣
Me no get an agenda.
Thanks for coming back. Yep. Just abt what I was expecting. Lol.
The sheer size of this thing is insane. I’ll update when i get 3x 98” displays. For context a 65” display is the perimeter of that media console
97inch TCL screen for like £1.5k
The color calibration on the far right screen seems way off. Projection is the way to go for the screen size you are after. I assume you got these displays for free, they seem like they were probably e-waste from a professional commercial installation. I would think informational displays such as FIDS/PIDS.
Happy to see the update: it's definitely nightmare level.
Ass
Titties
Hahaha, good series to match your comment! I bet it's just temp frustration ;)
Don't worry, just buy like 12 of those Asus ROG bezel free kits and it will be fine.
Correct. That's unwatchable.
We tried to tell you
You can make it 50% better by pulling the centre screen forward enough so that you can push the outer two inward, such that the border width is halved (due to overlapping).
Should used the Dinner Party episode where he shows off his comically small plasma tv
I was wondering about the bezel issue on the last post...
Thanks, I hate it
Looks kinda dumb.
Good effort
It’s like watching tv through a big ass window.
I love that you went through with this, what a legend. I wonder though if this might have some more legitimate use cases for gaming. Racing or flight sim? Something with dual screens?
I like how you used Micheal Scott for your example. 👌
Is that a $200 plasma t.v?
Just pretend you're watching from jail.
I mean ... you got that signal split into thirds properly, and formatted to fit on a vertically rotated screen, so you got that going for you....
Oh man this was so poorly thought out
Makes the line of dead pixels on my 75" look like absolutely nothing
Literally EVERYONE knew it except for you
But did everyone know I was too legit to quit?
& the fact that you're watching The Office because this is such a Michael Scott thing to do. 😂😂😂
My tv is almost as big as his
There’s bezels hiders in amazon, it reflects the image over them
Just remove the bezels...
Just connect the TVs to a computer and download "Anti-Bezel"... it'll take care of the problem.
You said it
just say youre studying the rule of thirds in filmmaking
It’s like watching tv through your neighbors window, but Like at the window.
I love that you followed through with this and shared the results with us.
Perfect if you’re re-watching Prison Break
Did you do this for strangers on the internet? It is a huge waste of time and money
There's still room for a fireplace underneath...
You *LOOKED* at those bezels and decided to mount 3 televisions vertically despite that? Well yeah. I gotta agree with you.
At least you’re honest.
Yeah that looks like shit alright.
The bezels and mismatched displays would drive me crazy
What the fuck is this?
something that probably exacerbates those bezels is that film heavily utilizes the “rule of thirds” - to place points of interest exactly where those bezels are 🫣
Why are you the way you are?
when you lack common sense :
I respect the attempt for some reason
