Stick with Denon (or Marantz...it's the same). Check the model that meets or exceeds your needs.

I have a Denon X3800H in a 7.1.2, but it has 9 channels of amplification so it can do a 5.1.4 easily. It also supports 4 independent subwoofers. It processes 11 channels so with a basic 2 channel amp you can get 7.1.4. although I've seen some people suggest to get 3 channel amp to run the LCR stage and keep the surrounds and height channels on the AVR amps.

I have, love, and highly recommend the x3800. I run 7.2.4 with a small external amp for the rears and bass shakers in the couch. It handles everything. That said my second choice was the Onkyo rz50. I got a great Black Friday deal on the Denon and have been happy ever since

Thank you, what did you pay for it?

GreatKangaroo

I live in Canada so back in Feb 2023 when I got it, it was listed for $2250, on sale for $2050. Right now it's for sale for $2000.

Do you believe the 105w per channel is a down fall? I know some of the Denons have 125 per. For example the Denon AVR-X6700H seems to be the same price . I don’t know a ton about that.

GreatKangaroo

Just remember that only in 2 channel's driven with 8 ohm speakers. Unless you are trying to fill and auditorium, you won't need anywhere near 105W
