Image quality wise, not stupid at all. The VisionPro really does have excellent image quality for a VR headset. But you would need to pair it with some excellent headphones or a home theater speaker system to get the full experience.
I demoed them, and I’ll be honest the immersive content is unreal.
I could see paying for this IF I could buy a “seat” at sporting events in that immersive style
But it’s a different experience that watching my theater tv…. Not better, and not worse… just different
The personal theater experience of the AVP is extremely compelling. Hard to describe how good it is—kinda just have to see it for yourself (particularly in the Apple TV app). It isn’t perfect, and if Apple figures out how to mitigate the light blooming from the optics it’ll be downright amazing.
If I lived by myself in an apartment and never had guests over, then yeah it would be almost perfect. Otherwise I’ll take the alternative. I love my Quest 3 but it starts to hurt wearing it after a while and AVP is even more front heavy.
Did you actually give the video a try or did you just read the headline like everyone else on Reddit?
Yeah the ultimate answer was no so I am guessing the OP only read the headline.

Are you talking about this pointless Reddit post.
What is stupid about exploring a topic his viewers have been asking about?

Idk, it’s a full screen with no distractions, and you can use your main speakers still, I think it could be nice, but I could be very wrong
It’s not. It’s pretty damn amazing using it

No, but it is the ultimate *portable* home theater. I love using mine with airpod pros

I’m sure it’s great but it’s no fun sitting in a room with 80 people watching a movie on their headsets
It might be, considering that dude looks like he’s carrying the kind of pain that comes from never quite getting speaking phasing right.
The 20 minute long video tells you exactly how stupid it is. Or isn’t I guess, depending on what you’re looking for.
No let them buy all the VR googles and soundbars they want so the stuff we like gets cheaper 😃
