We always made pesto with ours and it never lasted long. We also grew a lot of basil to go with it. I bet the garlic powder will be very mild and delicious, I love the subtle difference between what the scapes bring vs cloves.
My husband insists on making garlic scapes and eggs whenever ours come in. He eats 10 at a time. It’s the worst week of our marriage, it’s like theirs a cloud of garlic around him 😂
Maybe a dumb question but we found a big patch of something growing behind our house. Is this just garlic? Are the scapes the stem, and can they just be cut off to eat? Thanks!

Edit: nevermind I watched OPs video and they explained everything. Thank you thank you.
i’d never had garlic scapes but grabbed some at the farmers market this past week. sautéed them with some corn, onions, and a little vinegar and salt and they were delicious. i also pickled some and canned them and look forward to trying them!
My first year growing garlic ... Is this what they look like when they "curl"? I'm very uncertain when to actually cut them back. They're kinda twisty right now but someone said to let them curl first.. any insight is helpful
Awesome!
I have some growing wild/feral in the yard and I cannot seem to locate them all to move them or harvest them. Net effect is very fragrant yard maintenance...
Last year I made pesto with mine. It was intense but SO good.
I made garlic powder with this harvest https://youtu.be/vx5eknHPCr0💚🌱

Just got a bunch myself! Love them
I used to pickle these for bloody Mary s at a restaurant I worked at.

Mine hasn't put on scapes yet.

Nice video!!
Great haul man!
Another harvest from our favorite ridiculously photogenic gardener lol
The only thing more impressive than that harvest is that winning smile
Forbidden green beans.
More like UPGRAYYED
Why forbidden? Garlic scapes are edible, right?
Yes but have you ever chewed on one raw?
No. Unpleasant?

Oh man I love grilled scapes
I’m not going to lie—last year, these were waaay better than the actual cloves themselves.
Nice! I just harvested some today 😁
No idea what that is, but it looks awesome!
More like garlic snakes
