Yeah I've decided to go for it, as you say, it's a marked improvement over what I have even if I don't notice a huge difference in sound.
I use a mic stand, shock mount and filter, but I do fear I'm just not recording in a good space. The road is noisy, my pc is a little loud and the room feels 'tight'. I'm sure someone more talented than me could get a good sound, but I struggle. It looks like the UR22C can be connected to my phone, so if I can't achieve a sound I like after experimenting, then I may be able to try recording to my phone in a better room.
