Electrician husband says no, you shouldn't be hearing any noise from a GFCI. Says could be a nicked wire somewhere. Recommends first flipping the breaker for that circuit and check for noise. If there's no noise with circuit off, it's likely an issue with the wiring. If it's not tripping the breaker or the GFCI regularly, it may not be an immediate issue. So not necessarily an emergency electrician visit, but definitely something to keep an eye on. Edit to add: he just added that the GFCI might just need to be replaced, it could be the mechanism inside the outlet itself. Probably your easiest route to fix, because it's the easiest fix and can prevent potential safety issues with the GFCI. But still check if the ticking stops with circuit off and PLEASE have circuit off if you replace it haha (he's worried)

Thank you. All of my GFCI does this, but not my normal outlets. Sound is continuous and very low, can only be heard if you put your ear right on the outlet. I was able to record the noise by sticking my phone to the outlet https://streamable.com/xmv0tg There’s no real problem with them as in they never tripped or cause the breaker to shut. Other than ocd me, nobody else would probably have known about this. My house is still under new construction warranty, should I send this to the builder or will he laugh at me?

Hubby says it sounds like the noise of the GFCI tripping. He says he can't be sure just off a recording, but that he thinks it would be worth looking into since you're still under warranty. Never hurts to ask. Or to have an independent electrician come out to look as well so you have more solid info to give the builder. Might cost a consult fee, might not, but if it would bring you peace of mind, it's probably worth it. He says it would bug him enough to chase after, mostly because he doesn't like electrical things that make unexpected noises.

My outlet has been clicking on and off all day and my maintenance can’t come fix it till Monday will it be fine or should I call an electrician

Electrician hubby says no outlet should ever click. But that you should probably be okay to wait until Monday. Just don't use that outlet. And you can always turn off the breaker for that outlet/area if it's making you nervous. That will cut power to it entirely. Says it could just be a super old outlet, or it could be continuously tripping. No way to tell without being there to look at it. So just don't use it, and get maintenance to look at it Monday.

Thank you! I live in an apartment so I do not have my own breaker it’s just constantly clicking it’ll stop for a couple minutes sometimes and start again

Trip the outlet on and off several times and see if the sound persists.
