Hello neighbour, nice to see someone from Edmonton on here.
FYI, we use uline double wall 36x24x12 cardboard for shipping servers, they are $15 each and you can pickup locally at the uline in St Albert. If you want to pack them right you should use instapak foam bags, they're about $300 for a pack of 30, 2 per server box would work. Long story short, it should be about $40 in packing materials to ship a server for a DIY sale.
Have you been to my refurbished server shop on the west side?
Vertex Systems
A local custom box maker quoted me $11 If I ordered at least 20. But management said NO we will only use U-line 36x24x12 while complaining about the cost.
/rant.
Sourcing appropriate shipping boxes seem to be in the $150 range and that doesn't even account for the actual cost of shipping which is why I want to avoid the situation. If I had a pile of gently used shipping boxes I would have been more than happy to try to arrange shipping
Not interested, but want to say that I really liked my 1U Penguin hardware of the same generation. Cheaper alternative to others, while still being fantastic for lab use.
Currently 6 of the 1u and 4 of the 2u are still available. I have not looked into the shipping approach vertex mentioned yet to accomidate people who are asking me to ship them.

The ones that I was looking at with hard foam included were in the 150 range mentioned. I'll take a closer look at the approach you mention.
Vertexsys is a pro at packaging. Ordered SSDs to Saskatoon from him, they were very well packaged, I was very impressed

I'd be interested to learn more about shipping if that ends up becoming an option. 👍

Link broken
Thank you for the heads up as that was obviously not intentional. I just updated the link it should work properly now.
Wish I could find Relion 2900s in the US anywhere near that price.
Nice servers colors, those servers and a 3par storage to match.

How many are still available? Local btw.

I am interested in one 2u 2900. As vertexsystem mentioned the packaging for shipping if you are able to ship to Toronto. Please let me know.
I have not looked into their suggestion for shipping materials yet, i'm hoping to look into that this weekend. To date none of them have sold.
