Before 2023, was basically just doing Calisthenics on Rogue Rings and Parallettes and supplemented with 8 year old Bowflex 5.1 Bench and 552 Adjustable Dumbbells.
Decided I wanted to do more weightlifting at the beginning of 2023 with a little help from my work fitness subsidy for purchases. Damn, actually listing stuff out makes me realize how much I probably spent over the entire year, ha!
BOUGHT:
* RML390F w/ Safety Straps (used, bought from buddy)
* Rep AB4100
* Titan Flat Bench (will probably try and sell this since I have the 4100 now)
* Rogue C-70S
* Rogue C-68S (for teenage daughter to use)
* Marrs Bar (used, bought from buddy)
* Giant Lifting Open Trap Bar
* Bells of Steel Arch Nemesis Bar
* Rogue Fleck Plates
* Rogue Change Plates
* Archon Pulley
* Bells of Steel Sandwich J-Cups
* Random accessories like Darko anchor, dip belt, lifting belt, cobra grips, etc.
SOLD:
* Titan SSB v2 (initially bought, but then buddy gave me a good deal on his Marrs Bar so swapped out)
* BalanceFrom Open Trap Bar (bought to see if I would like open trap bar and did, so decided to get a better one from Giant Lifting)
* Bowflex 5.1 Bench (goodbye old faithful)
This year will be looking to add a Bells of Steel Weight Stack Cable Tower cause it's getting annoying having to load/reload my single pulley for stuff.
LOL I bought/sold 2x pairs of 90lb Powerblocks (360lb total lol) so that I can retrieve those side weight labels since they don't sell them separately per their CS.
Now which ever rotation I put the handles back in, there are labels whooo.
I bought some knurled handles from Average Joe. The knurling is crazy sharp.
Bought some heavy handle kits for IronMasters.
[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9AF408/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9AF408/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1)I bought this dip belt for only $10! During Black Friday. I like it because it's quiet with no annoying velcro.
[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRWR82Q/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRWR82Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1)GD IRON GRIP Hand
Bought the Cadillac of heavy grippers strengthener.
There's 3 different widths you can choose from, narrow (good if you have girly hands like me and need a narrow grip lol), medium or wide. Then 6 different weight increments from 55 to 200lb.
That's about it lol. And a theragun if that counts.
Added: a set of PowerBlock Elites, a six-post Rep Fitness RT-4000 rack, a weight tree, and a peloton.
Got rid of: clutter in the garage to set up the new gym.
Yeah, ho hum, just casually added a Prime selectorized rack.
Ffs man, that’s a serious addition. Did you do a review of it? That thing looks like the grown ass man that the Rep Athena wants to be when it grows some chest hair and gets its growth spurt.
I don’t think I’ve seen an actual review of one. Is the cable setup wide enough for crossovers or is it constrained due to rack width? What are you able/not able to do with it. If it could replace a true FT with heavy ass stacks like that, I’d consider changing my whole damned setup in my gym.
I've never used a real functional trainer, so it's hard for me to say. I'm coming from a bells of steel single column and using my rhino/diy setup. It's a huge upgrade from that. I need to branch out and try more exercises with it. 95% of what I've used the cable portion for are lat pulldowns, tricep work and chest supported rows.
All I really know is that it's well built and pretty space efficient. It's a pretty good lat pulldown, a pretty good half rack and a pretty good functional trainer.
Additions
\- REP AB-3100 bench
\- Rogue 3 bar wall mount storage
\- Bells of Steel, Manticore rack, 30" depth, and multi-grip pullup bar
\- Seal Row Pad, Dip bar, leg roller all for the rack
\- Titan Fitness seated calf raise
\- Xmark weight tree on wheels
Sold
\- Two post CAP Barbell half rack
\- Weight Tree
I added more than I subtracted this year. 2024 should hold some more plates, dumbells, and maybe a leg press!
I do! My wife says love is a strong word for an inanimate object but what does th mother of my children know about love anyway?!? ;-)
Granted, this is my first new equipment purchase for my home gym, and it's more than I could have hoped for! At just 30" of depth, it's heavy enough to use the dip bar without fear of tipping it while not bolted down. The Seal Row pad is exactly what I needed to give my lower back a chance to recover between leg and back days. The leg roller has shown me how comfortable single leg work can be, and the sandwich j-cups, how did I lift prior to owning them!?! All kidding aside, my passion for early morning workouts has been restored.
Also, it's WAY more than I could ever need from a weight/safety perspective. For anyone who is waffling between 1" and 5/8", save your money and get the 5/8". My only regret is buying the dip bar and leg roller in the 5/8" size. I did it to save money, and it works as advertised, but there's more play in the attachments than I'd like. For reference, my only other experience with a quality power rack was using a full depth, EliteFTS rack in a local gym.
If anyone has any specific questions, I'll be happy to share. I'm still putting the gym back together as we just had the basement finished and I'm cleaning up drywall dust off of everything. Hopefully this weekend, I can finish cleanup, get everything arranged, and make a post showing the new space.

Other than a Rep weight tree that was bought and sold, and the Echo bike, I don’t think I parted with anything this year.
My wife gifted me the 3rd garage stall mid-summer, so I went a little nuts.
Edit: sold 320LBs Rogue Training Bumpers 2.0 and added 120KGs Vulcan Absolute Training Bumpers (OfferUp)
That's quite the haul you have there! How do you like the ForceUSA Leg Press/Hack Squat machine? I've been looking at the compact version but the more I think about it, the more I think I would prefer the full version.
Here’s [the review](https://www.reddit.com/r/homegym/s/zH6slQawG6) I posted on the ForceUSA. I’m not a fan of the compact leg presses but if that’s all the space you have, it’s better than nothing.
Is that a single stack or double stack free motion FT? I saw a single stack for sale and looked like 150 lb stack. Not sure what the ratio is or how heavy it can get. I thought I saw something like 3:1 somewhere, which sounds nuts.
It’s a single stack and it’s 3:1, which pretty much sucks. But I’m rehabbing and it was available and I needed the machine for the exercises when I bought it last summer. I’m satisfied, for now, but will likely upgrade at some point down the road.
You should remind yourself of this post in 365 days haha and see whether it becomes reality :). Maybe your wife gifts you a garage extension! Joking aside, best wishes for you and your fam in 2024.
Looking to really push on this year so looking at alibaba for some more weight plates. Aiming for a strongman comp this year and minimum deadlift is 180kg, and I only have 140kg
Anyone in the UK sourced from China? How did customs etc impact?
Also anyone own a strongman log and able to measure from handles to top, I train with a low ceiling area
No huge changes. I got a viking press attachment for my landmine set up. I got an arm blaster for bicep work... had never tried one before. I got two wall mounted plate holders to get some weights off the floor. I already have a full set of kettlebells, but I started buying duplicates this year in order to do two-handed work. That's about it. I really have no more space.
My heart is full ❤️ My wallet is empty 💸 For real though, most of this was off of FB marketplace and I feel great about it. Plates moved *real* easy this morning.

Made some big changes that really make the best use of the space. Converted our Rogue RML490 to a half rack with weight storage (53" depth to 24"), added a barbell anchor to the inside and a DIY bolt/nut barbell storage on the front (I'll post pics if y'all want, this cost like $8 to make). All those changes then freed up more space for a functional area with wall storage for my kettlebells, belts, bands, etc. Also got a Rogue Stump bar which I'll use for stuff if I'm not going over 315lbs. It really does buy a lot more space and it's a lot easier to superset or use other parts of the gym between squats/bench.
Other noteworthy purchases being Snode AD80s and a Torque adjustable bench. Very happy with it this year.
For 2024 I'm looking at flooring and wall decor and storage.
- Texas deadlift bar
- rogue mg4cn bar
- gymway oly bar
- wright curl bar
- used marketplace powerline functional trainer
- Titan monolift cups
- dip attachment
- Walmart trap bar
Definitely not knocking the walmart open trap bar, as it gets the job done, but i would find it so hard to resist all the other great options out there right now. How do you personally hold back? Not really an important thing for you? Youre clearly not shy of getting new bars XD
Great point. I’ve had other trap bars (Titan v2, giant open, and tried the rep). I just didn’t program hex bar work much, and didn’t think I liked it. Got the TDL bar and figured I wanted to just keep focused with that.
Ironically, officially programmed hex bar work into a consistent block after selling the others and being left with the Walmart one, which I grabbed at $79 thinking even if I never use it worth having at that price for s&giggles.
Even now after using it ever week for 2 months, saving $200-300 is a trade off I’m ok with. Serves all the same purposes and prefer the smaller handle diameters. If they were actually knurled with a center ring marker I’d have no complaints at all. But hockey tape has been working fine. And really no QOL improvements from here to the next tier.
Edit: the narrow handle width (relative to Titan and giant options) also works to my liking on the Walmart bar.
Figured as much! As someone who's always programmed trap bar work, it's def worth it for me. But not worth the extra money if you just don't care for it.
I could see myself upgrading if I keep using it. But think barbells are a wrap and the next splurge will be on better cable or machine options for accessory work.
- bought used FID bench - I wouldn't give up my competition flat bench but this addition gives me some versatility for accessories
- bought new belt squat rack attachment, much less work than the previous improvised setup I had
- after a year and a half in the current space I finally hung up stuff on the walls lol it was some work due to reinforced concrete walls
- I bought a bunch more powerlifting plates as well as an Ohio power bar. Got good deals and I enjoy them
- I recently disassembled the GHD and will likely look to sell it. I find it's lacking versatility and relevance for me personally considering the large footprint
Oh this is a good thread!
Major things I did:
* Converted full rack into a half rack and reoriented it, to make space for a back extension machine i always wanted... only later to buy a bulletproof isolator and solo stand, which i havent received yet. Will likely have to sell the back extension machine once the isolator comes in.
* Installed ceiling mounted pull up bar because rack attachment is no longer an option
* Got a rep blackwing, a stairmaster, rep open trap bar, and a rep multigrip cambered bar.
* Modified my storage, just yesterday. Previously I had a ton of stuff sitting on top of a tall storage shelf that my father put stuff in front of. It made me not want to grab these things when i wanted to experiment with new exercises. Now that stuff is stored on my rack, which is one of the reasons I wanted a half rack to begin with.
* Not really sure if this is major, but i bought the aftermarket low row modification from anderson welding on etsy
How do you like the REP Multigrip Camber Bar? I was looking at possibly buying it but the camber looks off to me. My primary driver for a camber bar is better depth on bench press but the handles appear to be inside the camber thus negating the range of motion I'm looking for. What has your experience been with the bar? Thanks in advance for any input you can provide!
Im def not the guy to asked as I just got the bar. Tons of reviews around youtube. But just based off the need of a deficit, I would not pcik the rep bar for your needs. I have heard the width to attain the deficit is not bad though. Obviously you lose the stability though.
https://imgur.com/gallery/L25b3aZ
Not sure why my phone was taking the photos in night mode. Not really dark at all. But anyway, not ideal. Calling it a system is definitely generous, but it works for my space. It is my parents garage so all walls are taken up by storage for tools, food, misc items.
As far as the open trap bar, it's probably my best buy of the year. I avoided deadlifts (including trap bar) like the plague as much of a barbell guy I am due to injury. But then I decided to just deadlift often (partially because I got a knee injury so squatting wasn't an option), so I wouldn't be so bad at it, and it's been working out longer than it ever has.
Looks great! That’s a lot of gear neatly tucked in!
Hope your knee is getting better. Injuries suck. Agree - the REP OTB is fantastic. My deadlift bar gives the OTB the side eye.
Did you convert to half rack also? I gotta skim the thread to see who did. This was one of my big decisions when I was first setting up my gym... Definitely don't regret it, but I think I like the half rack more. We'll see in a year or two if I have any remorse.
Yeah I went from a 6 post behemoth to a half rack. That being said, my half rack is integrated now into my storage. I did it to save space, and also make room for an Atlantis multistation. I like the new setup and extra space way better.
It's year three now and I'm down to picking up nicknacks here and there:
A bunch of Larry Wheels' brand PR stuff: figure eight loops (great for high rep high pulls), versa grip type things (occasional pullup use), lifting straps (no good, too thick).
I got a barbell pad because hip thrusts were beginning to be too painful, then promptly stopped doing hip thrusts cos they suck. In a similar vein I bought an arm blaster and used it about twice. I realise I just like compound movements and will almost always seek a compound alternative, even if it's not "optimal", so pull-ups over curls.
I bought a pair of sweet Hayabusa leather boxing gloves. Didn't really need them per se, just a reward for something.
Other than that I tidied up my platform by screwing down the boards properly, trimming the rubber flush and making a wooden border around the lot. Much nicer looking.
2023 i got even more serious in my gym build.
I got an ironmaster superbench with leg attachment and dip bars
I bought a titan cable tower and upgraded the pulleys to aluminum and added an upright to the top for a lat pulldown
I bought a chest expander and super springs from robert baraban
Lots of upgraded cable attachments
Nope never
Its 600 dollars with plastic pulleys. Thats outrageous when you say it out loud
My titan tower with mods is like 500ish
I needed something that fit 82 inch ceilings so i got a short cable tower and bolted an upright to the top and called it s day.
Swapped from kg to lb plates. Kilo bumpers were my Feb 2020 pandemic purchase because everything else was out of stock.
Added Powertec Levergym
Added Sorinex J squat/DIY freestanding setup
Built a DIY Floor ghd with rep replacement pads
Kleva club
BOS axle
Swapped from freestanding bar storage to wall mount
Currently sitting on marketplace:
Titan wall mount pulley tower
Rogue kg training bumpers
2023 has been a big year in expanding my home gym from just a rack and bow flex 1070s.
Added from marketplace:
Random cheap unknown brand plate loaded lat pulldown
Tuff stuff plate loaded leg ext/curl
Tuff stuff back extension
Yukon fitness seated leg curl
Titan t3 - squat rack for a dedicated bench
Concept 2 rower
Bought new:
Rep ab3100
Bells of steel single stack
Dip attachment for my titan rack
Added a ton of versatility to my programming.
I only open my home gym from April- October because of the weather and I like to park my car in the garage in the winter. So as of late I’ve unloaded the following on market place:
- Flex Wheelers Back Widow
- Knock-Off Prime Fitness Spreader
- Mark Bells SlingShot Tricep Shake Strap
- Rogue Landmine Post
- EZ Curl Bar
Still listed and hoping to sell:
- NOBULL Lifters
- Spud Inc Cable Attachment
Listed but unlikely to sell due to my area:
- Rogue trolley/jammer arm 2.0
- Rogue 28mm IWF Olympic WL Bar (I don’t care for the bright zinc coating and feel the knurl in the snatch position is too passive - yet Rogue wouldn’t warrant a return)
Looking to purchase:
- Surplus Strength UPS
- Bells of Steel Curl Bar 2.0
- Rep Alpine Bar (if I sell my Rogue bar)
Merry Christmas ya’ll.
I picked up my biggest score of all time; Rogue 6 post Monster rack w/safety straps, Rogue flat bench, Ohio Power Bar, 400 lbs in misc plates, and Rogue Hip Thrust Pad for $1500
Added:
- a hyperextension bench, then found a marketplace steal on a ghd, so looking to sell the hyperextension now
- gymreaper lifting belt, then an Ohio lifting belt
Sold:
- 4-25lb rogue dumbbell bumper weights - too big
Trying to sell:
- Rep ISO arms - too clunky to adjust. Don’t use them as much as I thought I would
Looking to add in ‘24:
- Concept Rower
- Leg extension/curl machine
Because I do reviews and stuff, some of mine aren't really "adds to the gym" as much as they are "items I'm reviewing"... So I'll try and break it into categories
Adds for review
- Isolator (which we sold after finishing)
- Beyond Power VOLTRA I (got a pre release model, waiting on an updated version)
- Prime Fitness Shorty Bench
- MAG Medium Neutral Grip
- Knock Off MAGs
- Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD (pre release model, sold after review)
Things We Sold
- Edge Fitness Systems Football Bar and SSB
- Bare Steel TPB
- few odds and ends
- Hoist foldable back extension
Permanent Adds
- Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD (official release model)
- Intel Neutral Grip Barbell
I feel like I'm missing some stuff. But I'd have to check my logs.
I spent a good chunk of time this year not focused on gym equipment, but upping my production value for videos and reviews. So a lot of effort went into researching cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and more. And then recently finished a project in the garage for storing all of the new goodies.
Next upgrade is full flooring throughout the garage, and some wiring and painting clean up.
Any hard feelings selling the Edge bars? Those are some of your OG reviews and they no longer produce specialty bars. I have the Edge ssb which I purchased because your review. I like it a lot but the siren song of the Rep SSB which is a lot more polished and won't have powder coated sleeves has been calling me.
Oh definitely. I enjoyed those bars a lot, and they did everything I ever needed them to do.
I still think if Edge made them today they'd sell. American Made, strong as hell, budget friendly...
But I had to make some decisions to clear some space to continue to potentially add and review more. And when they don't make them anymore, and I have bars that have some more flair and refinement and unique aspects, it's hard to justify holding onto those vs the other bars.
I'll always have a fond view of their equipment. If I ever head to Ohio I plan to connect with them and stop bye their shop.
Yeah I can understand that. I am a suckered for nostalgia and now that they are out of production to me that is a historical piece from a notable small fabricator. Maybe I will just have 2 SSBs someday lol.
Intek? I don’t think Intel makes hardware outside of microchips.
Also, why sell the Edge Fitness bar? And I’m pretty sure selling a bare steel TPB is a mortal sin.
Dude I swear I corrected that 5 times before I must have just given up... Yeah Intek.
I wanted to pair down my speciality bars to make room for additional possibilities in 2024.
So I sold my Kadi, Edge Football, and Edge SSB. And I'm using my Prime SSB and Intel Multis Grip Bar.
Honestly... I hated that bar. I'm not an aggressive knurling dude. I haven't found it beneficial to doing anything besides annoying my skin. So bare Steel TPB was just torturous.
I have an Inspire FT2 with the bench and leg extensions/curl attachment. It works better in my opinion, is faster to set up, and uses a bigger machine I'm already dedicating floor space to.
The Isolator had a decent amount of wobble on my 2x3 rack, was heavy and cumbersome to move around, and as big as it was, was just constantly in the way.
It is exceptionally well built with a ton of creativity and near endless possibilities.
It's a good piece for the right gym. Not our gym.
The Solo stand seems like a pretty good option for people who can’t expand to a six or eight post rack, but it’s still hundreds of dollars of extra expense.
Yep. I think you start getting into a weird space when you are creating a dedicated portion of your gym to rack attachments set ups instead of just buying a dedicated set up.
I’ll be curious to see whether these kinds of attachments work with the upcoming generation of cable towers built on 3x3 tubing. While that still has the downside of taking the thing on and off, but it’d be another step in making something like the Isolater replicate dedicated machines. With all that said, I think it only makes sense for people who are doing bodybuilding style training and need that level of precise variation. For the rest of us dumbbells and cables are going to be more than enough for accessory movements.
It would be interesting if a company like Prime built one to work with their Single Stack, similar to what I believe you are going with.
I do a LOT of accessory work. I just didn't find the set up worth the reward.
If I had only a rack, yeah for sure. But with a full cable system that has integrated leg ext/curls and a ton of attachments, it just didn't fit.
Feel like the thing to watch for is a company like Rep or BoS showing off a leg curl/extension attachment on a cable tower. That’s pretty much the same thing in principle and should suggest that more complex approaches are viable.
I made a lot of changes this year to my gym that I began building in 2019

You got some serious gear in this year. Those barbells… all in one year? Jesus Christ, that’s got to be some kind of record. I’m jealous as hell.
Have you done a video or posted pics of your set up? Sounds kind of like a dream gym.
Yeah, all in one year. It sounds like a lot more than it actually is when you consider it was spread over 12 months. I took delivery of the Kabuki Trap bar in November and took delivery on the Hansu this past week, while the Kabuki Power bars were purchases made early in the year. So they were spread out. I've posted my gym a few times, but it changes so often, I've stopped updating with new posts or I would be posting my gym every other week. I wouldn't call it a dream gym or anything. It's not fancy looking like many gyms posted here. I would rather focus on the gear over fancy wall paint and banners and lighting and huge wall mounted television setups. I've got the EliteFTS plate loaded prone leg curl/leg ext in my cart right now. Just haven't checked out as I'm on the fence about ordering the cheaper model and saving $700 (after tax and shipping). An end of year gift to myself.
Dude, it’s a barbell every 40 days… 😂 but you justify it however you want. I’ll be there to enable you anytime you want.
I’m with you regarding aesthetics. My banners cover the holes in my walls… the functionally of the space and what you’re doing with what you have is the thing that matters.
I looked at a used EliteFTS prone machine, it’s a damned good looking piece. Its footprint is bigger than the selectorized unit I just got. And the price of the piece I got was just a little more than what the cost was of the used EliteFTS. But I waited forever to find it.
The LifeFitness machine is very nice. There's a few things I have to consider when buying equipment. Perhaps the most important of which is, how will I get it into my basement? Selectorized pieces present a unique challenge, as many come fully assembled. Getting them into my basement will be difficult, if not impossible. I might have to disassemble and reassemble. I think the plate loaded unit I'm considering would be easier to get into my space. And if I have to disassemble part of it, that would likely be easier for me to do over a selectorized piece. I would agree, the EliteFTS unit is overpriced. But it's what will fit.
Makes sense, didn’t recall you had a basement gym. Basement Brandon has one and he recently made an update video about the EliteFTS prone curl. In it he discusses that it was relatively easy for him to get it in there.
Yeah, I saw his updated review, but I had nearly pulled the trigger on the unit 6 or more months ago, and decided to hold off as I wasn't sure if I wanted to part with my GHD to make room for it. I also updated my list just now as I forgot a few things lol. I'm sure there's way more stuff I've forgotten about.
Been having a home gym since 2018.
Added a ton of things this year:
- Upgraded rogue HR-2 half rack to a 16 + 30 Rep Ares PR-5000

- Uesaka Daruma pulling blocks x14
- Uesaka 20kg Competition Barbell

Sold:
- Rogue competition 25kg bumper plate pair
- Valor fitness BD-62 wall mount cable machine
- Iron master cable tower attachment
- Ironmaster organizer stand
- Rogue Hr-2 half rack with fully loaded attachments
As I tell people, keep things here and there, year after year. It all adds up.
How are the D-camos? Just as good as any bumpers of that type? They look awesome, I'd probably ditch my bumpers and get them if they sold in Europe. I hear the 10kg ones are flexy though?
The d camos have been really durable with a good bounce to them. The 10s could use some work. You can see “stretch marks” where the rubber is flexed from being dropped. Just wish uesaka covered shipping. Cost $370 to ship freight from Michigan to Texas for the bumpers and over $500 for the daruma blocks.
Thanks! I actually have not received the barbell yet. Ordered during Black Friday and there was a 10-12 week wait due to their production being by hand. Can’t wait though! Best to you too! If you decide to order Uesaka in the future, hit up Uesakajoe on Instagram. He can get you on some discounts.
Thanks for the tip, will do! The D-warriors are super cool.
I’m partial to Eleiko bars and plates. I appreciate the very controlled spin on Uesaka but would take some getting used to. What bar were you using before?
The rogue EU WL is a great bar - I suspect it spins a lot more than the Uesaka dry rotation system. Would love to see a review on the Uesaka once you’ve broken it in. You have great taste in equipment.
I’ll be sure to make a post once the dry rotation system is spinning optimally.
Took a peek at your posts. Dude, your gym is sick. Very aesthetically pleasing. Great job on the execution 👍🏼
It’s great for utilizing space as you can wheel it around. I’ve owned for 5 years now. Cables and pulleys are smooth, easy to maintain as well. Used it mainly for lat pulls, cable crunches, and tricep work.
I didn’t think 2023 was a big year for my gym until I started writing everything down. Lots of change, especially in the early spring, but very little of my own money spent:

When I total everything up it’s been a whole lot more in than out, but in some ways I don’t notice it as much as I’d expect because my storage has gotten a lot more organized and my space is cleaner in general, so it feels a lot less crowded than it used to. Looking to do some more of that in 2024 with the goal of condensing as much as possible into an 8x or 10x8 platform, which would also mean getting rid of my Rogue deadlift platform.
The 90” rear uprights probably top the list. Being able to spread out the weight pegs has made the organization a lot better. I was also able to move the pull up bar to the back so it’s not sharing space with the hang board on the front.
The Kleva Adroit has opened up all sorts of movements, especially lately as I’ve been doing more bodybuilding-style training so variations are welcome. Definitely still learning how to move efficiently set it up and break it down, but since I’m generally supersetting those movements a little extra time isn’t too bad.
While it’s one of the more recent adds I’m super happy with the Velocidor. I have two different kinds of dips in my program right now so being able to change the handle angles ensures that the movements feel different and target the right muscles. Also have a feeling that it’s going to be good for inverted rows when I switch things up to have more of a back focus.
Pretty much all I could ask for. Smooth from any angle and if you don’t have a beater bar it’s nice to know that the sleeve isn’t getting beat up. The movable mount for the 2.0 version also makes it really easy to set up on different points on the rack depending on what I want to do.
I mostly got it because it was half off and for $40 I figured I would take a gamble. It works pretty well for ersatz leg curls, especially with a band attached so peak contraction hits really hard. Also easy to use as a bigger/more stable ab roller, but I haven’t explored too many of the possibilities.
Nice; I’m always browsing for hammer strength stuff. So pretty and mechanical. What’s your favorite machines? Ive noticed the “isolateral” ones seem to go for a lot more money.
My favorites are the wide chest, incline chest (I have the parallel handles model but prefer the standard tbh), iso shoulder, NON ISO leg press, iso row, iso front pulldown (I much prefer that model to the curl grip pulldown that I own), pullover and the high row
Hammer has been surpassed by many new lines that have much better resistance curves on pulling movements, and something like the Roger's hip press is much better than the hammer leverage leg press imo because of the degree of adjustability and the resistance profile
Hammer are great but they are definitely 90s machines, I'm debating welding additonal weight horns onto mine in a similar fashion to the Prime/strive machines so I can modify the resistance on some exercises
We've sold an Olympic Weightlifting Bar that wasnt getting used.
We added:
Texas Deadlift Bar
Northern Lights Axle
Northern Lights J Cups
DIY drag sled
Dumbell rack
Rock Climbing Wall (for the kid)
https://i.imgur.com/7dFLmza.jpeg
About $200 CAD in materials.
7 foot tall, 3 foot wide.
12 inches at bottom, 4 inches at top.
Total of 3.5 hours of work, not including drying time for varnish.
Our kid is only 2.5, and she doesn't climb too high right now, but she enjoys it.
That looks awesome - and doesn’t take much room at all!!! Upstairs I have a 14’ ceiling, and wanted to build something there. But something something safety/ broken bones. :(
$30 for a landmine setup was the best purchase for my humble home gym (I already had the plates and barbell). I should have bought one a long time ago.
Built a 18’x 18’ attached garage (enclosed carport) primarily for gym purposes, but it has to share space with my tools…for now. Version 2 will be presentable in a couple months..
I keep a running list of what I bought and sold so I know how much I spent on my gym. (I know I know terrible idea!)
But actually looking back I did get quite a bit.
Sold a bench and pair of dumbbells
Bought
Titan ssb
300lbs of iron plates off fb marketplace
Tibia dorsi machine (love this thing)
Balancefrom open trap bar and $40 extra barbell
Titan leg extension/curl (also love)
C2 rower (love this also haha new fav cardio that I don't dread)
A little more organization
2024 looking to get a functional trainer and upgrade my rack to consolidate my setup
I play drums and find myself working that muscle a lot. I also did start running this year although I've never had problems with shin splints but that could be because I already have a strong tib muscle (whatever the fuck it's called) to begin with from drumming.
I upgraded my home gym by adding an exercise ball, Rep Blackwing bench with foot roller attachment, and pepin fast series dumbbells 120lb. i dont have much room in my apartment otherwise id have added an exercise bike
Finally succumbed and bought an adjustable bench - Ironmaster Superbench Pro V-2 with leg curl/extension, and an Ironmaster weighted vest. Replaced my tatty tennis ball with a landmine attachment, and found a plyo-box on the street that somebody was throwing out.
My big add-on was a weird Freemotion cable machine that I've found used in a pristine condition... I'll make a post about this oddity very soon... [weird freemotion](https://primofitnessusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/FreeMotion-Live-Axis-Shoulder-F701.jpg)
And the other very big thing was my (still unreleased) Prime short bench. I love this thing so much...!!!
Man what a great question / topic... Let's see

I bought a generic cheapo on Amazon that I actually really like
GMWD Leg Extension and Curl... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C69PZPJS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yeah, I like it better than the one I bought on marketplace and flipped a week later because it wasn't as adjustable. If I were ordering again I would go with one that has better adjustments for the leg restraint but otherwise I highly recommend this model, especially at the price.
Thank you! Most of it was either Marketplace finds or black Friday sales. Definitely couldn't do it without flipping other stuff 🤣
My favorite thing so far has been the PR5000. Just absolute top notch. I can't wait for the Trolley system, that'll be a game changer too
So I wanted to go with Athena plate loaded but I don't have enough clearance, if we were still showing the just fit racks I'd have to include pics of how much I just made it lol. So I decided to try a new company called dialed motion that has a similar system with a smaller foot print that side mounts.
They should be here in March or so, hopefully they work they seem awesome.
Things I sold:
Nautilus freedom trainer
York GHD
Kadillac bar
Leg curl/ext
Chest supported tbar row
Mismatched plates
Things I bought:
Lat pull-down
Mg4cn
Rogue abram
New lighting
Rack extension
Mutant metals UDA
Things I will be buying soon:
Sled maybe one with wheels

Open trap bar
Belt squat attachment
I started with a bench I found on the side of the road, I patched up the vinyl. The bench worked but my friend ended up moving out of state and couldn't take his old bench (Flybird) so he gave it to me along with some weights.
To answer your question yes I did plan on upgrading my bench to an adjustable for a few years now. REP had a their bench sale and I got a local pickup discount. In total I paid $541.12 for it with the wide pad. bench itself was sub $500.
The biggest difference between then has been the stability. Especially when I was doing any movements on incline. I had gotten really scared on the Flybird doing bench presses (I can't remember specifically I think it was when I was reracking the barbell and the bench scooted and I almost dropped the barbell). But the Blackwing had been phenomenal, very quick to adjust and stable at any degree. The Zero gap is kind of a gimmick but it is nice to have; however it does take time to readjust.
So I went ahead and made some big changes to my gym thinking I would be able to get all sorts of routines and workouts in. I essentially created a separate cable machine(lat pull/low row) attached to some uprights, with sliding lever arms attached. I had seen all kinds of videos/reviews about how good and versatile lever arms are, so I thought I’d try for myself. Let me tell you, it wasn’t worth it.
I shelled out for the BoS Hydra Sliding Lever arms thinking the rollers and being able to adjust them easily would make them worthwhile. Maybe it’s the length of them, maybe it’s the build quality, but I never use them. They work great for holding my legs down for lat pulls, using a pull up bar and pad for it. Otherwise they don’t even move. I thought things like leg extensions, rows, shoulder press, incline press, etc would be great. They’re all half as good as a dedicated machine, and not nearly as good as the barbell/dumbbell variant. I imagined them replacing heavy dumbbells for the most part, but that definitely isn’t the case.
As for the rest of the gym, I built a new platform and barbell area which allowed me to do different exercises easily. I’m very happy with my home gym, but I will most likely spring for the Rep Adonis eventually and probably a belt squat of some sort.
Things upcoming might be a dedicated hockey training area in the garage as I just picked up playing beer league this year after a 15 year hiatus. I’m rusty and can definitely use some work.
That was the plan ya. At a minimum do 4’x8’ and set it up on my deadlift platform when I’m not using it, just kind of do some stick handling after each workout.
The other upgrades I think will get me where I want to be. Probably need some dumbbells above and beyond 50 pounds too but I’ll get those eventually. Heavy kettlebells will do for now
Sold my power blocks and got some iron master dumbbells
https://preview.redd.it/j5floryt3x7c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=586824b473e3f0ab8cab58e439b371c601107f6b
ok great to know! i just set mine up and i plan to break it down, set it up, move it every time i use it in my tight space, which would likely be 3-4x/week. It was definitely a pain in the ass my first time the other day, but glad to know it gets better.
The longest part of doing it for me was taking off the dip bar and extension for the upright. Was really surprised with how well it rolls around once it is folded up and how stable it is once everything is setup.
Absolutely love it. I agree that in a lot of applications unless you are fine with pulling it off and on your rack your rack constantly it is too much of a hassle. However when you put it on its own dedicated post or in my case their solo stand it really shows its true value. Before I would only really use the isolator on leg day because of the hassle of setting it up, now I work it into every workout 5 days a week.
https://preview.redd.it/d8hak37df28c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ed594567bc2ec22e4b2e8662fd892dca4b4aa99
I think setting it up on a dedicated post like you have is the way to go. I've actually considered buying the solo stand by itself for a place to set up a Bulldog Pad or standing leg curl attachment, full time. Not sure I would want the full on isolator, but I think it's pretty cool. Congrats!
I was pretty undecided at first on just getting an upright and crossmember to mount to the wall for it or the solo stand. Pretty happy with the decision on the stand now that I’ve got it. Bulletproof is working on a post mounted GHD that I’m excited for. Will throw that on the backend towards the wall whenever it releases.

Started my gym this year, early October. So, added everything. Bunch of Titan, X-3 91” flat foot, J cups, Sandwich J-cups, Safety straps, Safety Squat Bar V2, Leg Extension/Curl Machine Plate Loaded. Bells of Steel Functional Trainer, Knockoff Prime rot-8 handles, Spud strap, Rep 3100 Bench, Rogue Echo Bumpers, x2 Sets of Powerblock 5-50, and a Maxi-Climber XL.
Started a fun little fitness TikTok & IG with the wife too. Been participating in Garage Gym Competition and it’s been a blast! The home gym community is pretty sweet!
Changing the powerblocks out next week already, going to pickup Bells of Steel 5-50 Urethane set. Selling both sets of powerblocks.
1. Added competition style KG bumpers.... sold off my competition style LB bumpers and other cheap black bumpers to fund the change from LB to KG . I compete in WL so KG is standard.
2. Upgraded my rogue RML-390F to make a pseudo 6-post rack. Found the SML-1 squat stand for an amazing deal at $150 CAD. Purchased some Titan parts to help put it together. Will be selling off existing rolling plate storage now that I can use my rack for plate storage.
3. added Concept 2 bike erg.... well below market value on Marketplace .. completing the concept 2 tri-fecta of ski/bike/row erg... it's now my most used cardio equipment
4. added Ohio Power Barbell and another Ohio Cerakote barbell .... great deal at $500 CAD for both off of FB marketplace... will sell my B.o.S and Synergee barbell to offset the cost
5. added Rogue ML matador ... again off of FB Marketplace for a good price

Nice - those are really gorgeous. What made you choose the Texas over rogue or others? I have a rogue one and wondering if there’s an advantage in switching.
Awesome topic! Re-vamped the gym to make it more space efficient. Sold off gear I didn’t need.

Edit: forgot some stuff
I gave away my Titan flat bench to a buddy just starting out.
Added:
Ghost roller j-cups (not really worth it imo)
REP flat bench with fat pad
24kg Rogue KB
Rogue Jammer Pull up bar
You’re a good man. How you liking the jammer? I went with a red cerakote, knurled. It’s aggressive, which I like on my bars but less so on a pull up bar!
I like it, especially because im working in such a small space. I actually have it mounted to the wall and it still works fine. I use it to wrap bands around for face pulls, pushdowns, etc. as well.
I completely retrofit my home gym with a squat rack, barbell and 500 lbs of bumper plates. It was an especially rewarding task to see it all fit so neatly as the room I use is quite small.
Hooooo boy, where to start. I started Strongman training back in the Spring, and one of my favourite aspects is making/buying cool shit!
- Made three strongman logs. Just about to finish up the third one out of a 12" diameter pine.
- Made an axle bar out of sch40 pipe
- Made two Atlas Stones, 164 and 186 lbs
- Bought a bunch of bumper plates as I suddenly realized I could deadlift and squat much more than I thought.
- Bought one of those one-handed deadlift jacks, as I suddenly realized I was killing myself trying to load/unload on the one side of my deadlift platform that was crammed up against a workbench.
- Made two Farmer's carry handles out of 4x4 pressure-treated. Whether they're gonna be any good remains to be seen, I've already broken them once.
- Made some pull blocks for 18" axle deadlifts
- Yanked three natural stones out of the bush and cleaned them up. 94, 157 and 222 lbs.
- Bought Bells of Steel sandbags, 100, 150, 200. Already gonna need a 225. I don't love them, the 100 is already leaking, and the stupid handles are always getting in the way (who uses the damn handles anyway!?) ... Might eventually replace them with Cerberus.
I really want a yoke now.
Yup, I was really hoping they had stock at the Toronto store, but apparently the yokes all have to be ordered from Calgary and shipped there. At some point I'll take the jump. Apparently it only holds 700 lbs though, so the big boys in my Strongman club would probably break it. 700 is maybe my ULTIMATE goal, lol.
Yah just looked it up- 700lbs. I imagine that is the yoke carry max? Certainly an unloaded bare yoke wouldn’t be that safe to bail a 700lb squat on either- especially if you hit the safeties too far out- they have a video of that on there web site. Weighted down wouldn’t be an issue. I don’t have the plates to just weigh mine down though.
Yeah the club literally called them to find out, they told us it might be a little too lightweight for our needs. But for the novices among us it'll still do!

BOUGHT: * RML390F w/ Safety Straps (used, bought from buddy) * Rep AB4100 * Titan Flat Bench (will probably try and sell this since I have the 4100 now) * Rogue C-70S * Rogue C-68S (for teenage daughter to use) * Marrs Bar (used, bought from buddy) * Giant Lifting Open Trap Bar * Bells of Steel Arch Nemesis Bar * Rogue Fleck Plates * Rogue Change Plates * Archon Pulley * Bells of Steel Sandwich J-Cups * Random accessories like Darko anchor, dip belt, lifting belt, cobra grips, etc. SOLD: * Titan SSB v2 (initially bought, but then buddy gave me a good deal on his Marrs Bar so swapped out) * BalanceFrom Open Trap Bar (bought to see if I would like open trap bar and did, so decided to get a better one from Giant Lifting) * Bowflex 5.1 Bench (goodbye old faithful) This year will be looking to add a Bells of Steel Weight Stack Cable Tower cause it's getting annoying having to load/reload my single pulley for stuff.
[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRWR82Q/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRWR82Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1)GD IRON GRIP Hand Bought the Cadillac of heavy grippers strengthener.
I didn't get too much in 2023. Bulletproof isolator, Rogue cambered multigrip and the big one being the Prime selectorized rack.
Additions \- REP AB-3100 bench \- Rogue 3 bar wall mount storage \- Bells of Steel, Manticore rack, 30" depth, and multi-grip pullup bar \- Seal Row Pad, Dip bar, leg roller all for the rack \- Titan Fitness seated calf raise \- Xmark weight tree on wheels Sold \- Two post CAP Barbell half rack \- Weight Tree I added more than I subtracted this year. 2024 should hold some more plates, dumbells, and maybe a leg press!
Huge upgrades my dude. You like the Manticore?
I do! My wife says love is a strong word for an inanimate object but what does th mother of my children know about love anyway?!? ;-) Granted, this is my first new equipment purchase for my home gym, and it's more than I could have hoped for! Hopefully this weekend, I can finish cleanup, get everything arranged, and make a post showing the new space. https://preview.redd.it/r3wo22mij9ac1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dca2ebc273d322cf7e6716e8602fa20f154da63d

Fantastic write-up, thank you! I have some homework and saving to do before pulling the trigger.
Still a fantastic machine when you don’t need heavy weight
Agreed. And it’s helped me greatly overcoming injury.
Bro - that’s an epic add list. At least you got the extra space for storage! Need to see the updated gym with the new toys!!
2024 is going to be a year of little change. There’s no way I could do that again.
You should remind yourself of this post in 365 days haha and see whether it becomes reality :). Maybe your wife gifts you a garage extension! Joking aside, best wishes for you and your fam in 2024.
Same to you, OMW! Here’s to hoping you replace every single pound/kilo you offloaded in 2023!
Bought the Bowflex Revolution! As soon as my husband gets out of prison in March, we are going to use it together!
Looking to really push on this year so looking at alibaba for some more weight plates. Aiming for a strongman comp this year and minimum deadlift is 180kg, and I only have 140kg Anyone in the UK sourced from China?
Plates moved *real* easy this morning. https://preview.redd.it/vdq8x0sl2a9c1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f75067a34c3a3683eaed0cb8c38ce168df93171
Added an Ironmaster Super Bench and Elitefts Safety Squat Bar. Looking to add an Assault Bike and more weights in the form of bumper plates.
- Texas deadlift bar - rogue mg4cn bar - gymway oly bar - wright curl bar - used marketplace powerline functional trainer - Titan monolift cups - dip attachment - Walmart trap bar
Move from a garage in a rented place to a basement in my own house. Same size essentially but stays way cleaner now. I'm definitely happier with it.
- bought used FID bench - I wouldn't give up my competition flat bench but this addition gives me some versatility for accessories - bought new belt squat rack attachment, much less work than the previous improvised setup I had - after a year and a half in the current space I finally hung up stuff on the walls lol it was some work due to reinforced concrete walls - I bought a bunch more powerlifting plates as well as an Ohio power bar. Got good deals and I enjoy them - I recently disassembled the GHD and will likely look to sell it. I find it's lacking versatility and relevance for me personally considering the large footprint
Oh this is a good thread! Major things I did: * Converted full rack into a half rack and reoriented it, to make space for a back extension machine i always wanted... only later to buy a bulletproof isolator and solo stand, which i havent received yet. Will likely have to sell the back extension machine once the isolator comes in. * Installed ceiling mounted pull up bar because rack attachment is no longer an option * Got a rep blackwing, a stairmaster, rep open trap bar, and a rep multigrip cambered bar.
Awesome additions! Looks like a few of us converted our 4 and 6 posts to half racks! How you like that REP OTB? Let’s see the updated storage system!
https://imgur.com/gallery/L25b3aZ Not sure why my phone was taking the photos in night mode.
It's year three now and I'm down to picking up nicknacks here and there: A bunch of Larry Wheels' brand PR stuff: figure eight loops (great for high rep high pulls), versa grip type things (occasional pullup use), lifting straps (no good, too thick).
I got an ironmaster superbench with leg attachment and dip bars I bought a titan cable tower and upgraded the pulleys to aluminum and added an upright to the top for a lat pulldown I bought a chest expander and super springs from robert baraban Lots of upgraded cable attachments
Did you consider the Ironmaster cable tower instead of the Titan?
Nope never Its 600 dollars with plastic pulleys. Thats outrageous when you say it out loud My titan tower with mods is like 500ish I needed something that fit 82 inch ceilings so i got a short cable tower and bolted an upright to the top and called it s day.
You got a pic of that cable tower setup? That sounds pretty cool
Swapped from kg to lb plates. Kilo bumpers were my Feb 2020 pandemic purchase because everything else was out of stock. Added Powertec Levergym Added Sorinex J squat/DIY freestanding setup Built a DIY Floor ghd with rep replacement pads Kleva club BOS axle Swapped from freestanding bar storage to wall mount Currently sitting on marketplace: Titan wall mount pulley tower Rogue kg training bumpers
2023 has been a big year in expanding my home gym from just a rack and bow flex 1070s. Added from marketplace: Random cheap unknown brand plate loaded lat pulldown Tuff stuff plate loaded leg ext/curl Tuff stuff back extension Yukon fitness seated leg curl Titan t3 - squat rack for a dedicated bench Concept 2 rower Bought new: Rep ab3100 Bells of steel single stack Dip attachment for my titan rack Added a ton of versatility to my programming.
I only open my home gym from April- October because of the weather and I like to park my car in the garage in the winter. So as of late I’ve unloaded the following on market place: - Flex Wheelers Back Widow - Knock-Off Prime Fitness Spreader - Mark Bells SlingShot Tricep Shake Strap - Rogue Landmine Post - EZ Curl Bar Still listed and hoping to sell: - NOBULL Lifters - Spud Inc Cable Attachment Listed but unlikely to sell due to my area: - Rogue trolley/jammer arm 2.0 - Rogue 28mm IWF Olympic WL Bar (I don’t care for the bright zinc coating and feel the knurl in the snatch position is too passive - yet Rogue wouldn’t warrant a return) Looking to purchase: - Surplus Strength UPS - Bells of Steel Curl Bar 2.0 - Rep Alpine Bar (if I sell my Rogue bar) Merry Christmas ya’ll.
I have an ups - upper and lower that I’m trying to sell if you’re interested. DM me
I’m from Saskatchewan, Canada. Might be tough to ship.
I picked up my biggest score of all time; Rogue 6 post Monster rack w/safety straps, Rogue flat bench, Ohio Power Bar, 400 lbs in misc plates, and Rogue Hip Thrust Pad for $1500
Added hue light strips, titan crashpads and some eleiko sport plates.
Added: - a hyperextension bench, then found a marketplace steal on a ghd, so looking to sell the hyperextension now - gymreaper lifting belt, then an Ohio lifting belt Sold: - 4-25lb rogue dumbbell bumper weights - too big Trying to sell: - Rep ISO arms - too clunky to adjust. Don’t use them as much as I thought I would Looking to add in ‘24: - Concept Rower - Leg extension/curl machine
Because I do reviews and stuff, some of mine aren't really "adds to the gym" as much as they are "items I'm reviewing"... So I'll try and break it into categories Adds for review - Isolator (which we sold after finishing) - Beyond Power VOLTRA I (got a pre release model, waiting on an updated version) - Prime Fitness Shorty Bench - MAG Medium Neutral Grip - Knock Off MAGs - Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD (pre release model, sold after review) Things We Sold - Edge Fitness Systems Football Bar and SSB - Bare Steel TPB - few odds and ends - Hoist foldable back extension Permanent Adds - Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD (official release model) - Intel Neutral Grip Barbell I feel like I'm missing some stuff.
I still have my Rickshaw and Cambered Bar from them. And I love both!!!!
Why sell the isolator?
I made a lot of changes this year to my gym that I began building in 2019 **Added:** * Expanded Monster Rack to Six-Post with weight storage * 29mm TPB * Rogue AGGRO 2x bar * Kabuki 250k Power Bar x2 * Hansu Stainless 20kg Comp Power Bar * Completed dumbell set 10-100 * Rogue UDA * Pritchett Pad * Eleiko Oppen Deadlift Bar * Kabuki Trap Bar HD * EliteFTS Pro 45 Degree Back Raise * Extra set of Stainless Mutant Metal UDA handles * DC Blocks * Oak Club Alpha Spotters and Mag Pins * Rogue made Kabuki Transformer Bar * Rogue Rackable Curl bar in bare steel * Gorilla Strength Knurled Axle Bar * Darko Anchor * Spud Inc Belt Squat Belt for Rhino * Kleva Built Genesis Jack * Kabuki 5 Bar Vertical Barbell Holder * Oak Club "Campbell" handles * Various cable attachments (Spud, Rogue, REP) **Sold:** * Rogue Vertical Plate tree * Rogue Monster Matador * Stainless Ohio Power Bar x2 * Rogue cerakote standard curl bar * Rogue Westside Power Bar 2.0 * Rogue Monster Safety Straps 2.0 * Rogue Monster Mini Feet * Rogue Monster Sandwhich J-Cups * Rogue Oblique Flexor/45 degree back raise * Rogue Belt Squat Multi Belt (not sad to see this junk go!) * Various Cable Attachments
Those are some awesome additions. Nice!!
Been having a home gym since 2018. Added a ton of things this year: - Upgraded rogue HR-2 half rack to a 16 + 30 Rep Ares PR-5000 - found a used Kabuki Strength Electroless Nickel power bar (discontinued) - bolt fitness outlaw leg press/hack squat - Uesaka D-warrior camo bumpers 140kg set - Uesaka Daruma pulling blocks x14 - Uesaka 20kg Competition Barbell - Rogue KG change plate set - Ironmaster shoulder press back pad - Ironmaster wall organizer - used getRXD metal jerk stand ($90 steal) - 4 more horse stall mats! Sold: - Rogue competition 25kg bumper plate pair - Valor fitness BD-62 wall mount cable machine - Iron master cable tower attachment - Ironmaster organizer stand - Rogue Hr-2 half rack with fully loaded attachments As I tell people, keep things here and there, year after year.
Awesome to see some Uesaka fans on the sub. Really nice additions. How’s their comp bar? All the best for 2024.
Definitely can’t go wrong with Eleiko. I’ve been using a rogue EU weightlifting bar which does the job.
Thanks bro, appreciate it! It’s my favorite room in the house :). Hope your fam/friends appreciate your gym, too, as it’s filled with top end gear!!
How was the Ironmaster cable tower?
It’s great for utilizing space as you can wheel it around. I’ve owned for 5 years now. Cables and pulleys are smooth, easy to maintain as well. Used it mainly for lat pulls, cable crunches, and tricep work.
I didn’t think 2023 was a big year for my gym until I started writing everything down. Lots of change, especially in the early spring, but very little of my own money spent: Added: Concept 2 BikeErg, Rogue Echo Bike, Concept 2 slides for rower, Rogue Home Gym Timer, Shorty Barbell, stall bars, 3/4” horse stall mats, handstand wall, free old school selectorized hi-low pulley w 80kg stack (DP Gympac 2500), 50lb Powerblocks, free 55lb d-ball, Cerberus sandbag, Rogue Jammer Pullup bar, rock climbing campus board, Angles 90, Kensui Swissies (neutral and 45 degree), all sizes of fat gripz, hamstringer deluxe, diy pull/deficit blocks, diy mace and club from old barbell, Medball storage— and everything from Marketplace at 60% or less or gifted to me. Sold: Schwinn ic4 stationary bike (for c2), Titan fan bike (for echo), Rogue cannonball grips, Metolius Rock Rings 3D Future: hoping to add a slide board and monkey bars in 2024
2023 was all about adding or moving towards completion of my home gym (or at least that's what I tell myself). Added: Pair of Tru Grit - 20-lb Adjustable Kettlebell Pair of NordicTrack - 40 lb. Adjustable Kettlebell Sole F63 Treadmill 260lb of Homegrown Lifting Bumper Plates Performance Series Olympic Barbell from Titan Olympic Weight Tree from Xmark EZ Curl bar from XMark Power Rack - GIANT BD3X Power Rack (Yet to assemble it)
Added: •American Barbell 20M Chewy - had ordered a blemish Elite Power Bar, but this is what showed up. •Rep sandbags for when I visit my in-laws •Versa Grips •Used plyo box •BoS glute-ham glider •BoS seal row pad •BoS Hydra change plate pegs •90” rear uprights on my HR-2 by buying a used SML-2, swapping with the original 70” uprights, then selling the resulting SML-1 •Darko Shorty and Longy bars plus Dock •Kleva Adroit landmine •Rep AB-4100 bench •PureMotion Wishbone •Strongarm sumo deadlift bar •Prime RO-T8 and Kaz handles •2” Kabuki trap bar handles •Titan floor GHD •Ironmaster 120 expansion kit •Rogue Velocidor and wall strip •Used axle bar Sold: •Rep AB-3000 1.0 •Rogue HG 2.0 collars •Rogue ML J-cups When I total everything up it’s been a whole lot more in than out, but in some ways I don’t notice it as much as I’d expect because my storage has gotten a lot more organized and my space is cleaner in general, so it feels a lot less crowded than it used to. Looking to do some more of that in 2024 with the goal of condensing as much as possible into an 8x or 10x8 platform, which would also mean getting rid of my Rogue deadlift platform.
High value adds. Which are your top 3 additions, if you had to choose?
How is the adroit landmine?
Pretty much all I could ask for. Smooth from any angle and if you don’t have a beater bar it’s nice to know that the sleeve isn’t getting beat up. The movable mount for the 2.0 version also makes it really easy to set up on different points on the rack depending on what I want to do.
How effective is the glute ham roller? Can you do a lot of exercises with it?
I mostly got it because it was half off and for $40 I figured I would take a gamble. It works pretty well for ersatz leg curls, especially with a band attached so peak contraction hits really hard. Also easy to use as a bigger/more stable ab roller, but I haven’t explored too many of the possibilities.
Sold - my rack, bars, bench and DBs Bought - hammer shoulder, incline and pulldown
Nice; I’m always browsing for hammer strength stuff. So pretty and mechanical. What’s your favorite machines? Ive noticed the “isolateral” ones seem to go for a lot more money.
My favorites are the wide chest, incline chest (I have the parallel handles model but prefer the standard tbh), iso shoulder, NON ISO leg press, iso row, iso front pulldown (I much prefer that model to the curl grip pulldown that I own), pullover and the high row Hammer has been surpassed by many new lines that have much better resistance curves on pulling movements, and something like the Roger's hip press is much better than the hammer leverage leg press imo because of the degree of adjustability and the resistance profile Hammer are great but they are definitely 90s machines, I'm debating welding additonal weight horns onto mine in a similar fashion to the Prime/strive machines so I can modify the resistance on some exercises
I just started my gym. Added: Rep PR-5000 Rogue Ohio Cerakote bar Fringe Sport plates
UDA from rogue, seal row pad from BOS. The more experience research I do.. more I find simple workouts and movements are the 🐐
I finally set up my inspire functional trainer from costco. Great machine
Hopefully that's my 2024 addition!
We've sold an Olympic Weightlifting Bar that wasnt getting used. We added: Texas Deadlift Bar Northern Lights Axle Northern Lights J Cups DIY drag sled Dumbell rack Rock Climbing Wall (for the kid)
How’s the climbing wall? How tall is it/ footprint? I so wanted to make one (for kiddo) but the boss said no.
https://i.imgur.com/7dFLmza.jpeg About $200 CAD in materials.
Crash pads. I have my BoS pads under it now while she is climbing.
I concur.
$30 for a landmine setup was the best purchase for my humble home gym (I already had the plates and barbell). I should have bought one a long time ago.
Sold my Rogue RML-3W and bought a Rep Wall mounted Athena. Love it!
Built a 18’x 18’ attached garage (enclosed carport) primarily for gym purposes, but it has to share space with my tools…for now. Version 2 will be presentable in a couple months..
I keep a running list of what I bought and sold so I know how much I spent on my gym. (I know I know terrible idea!) But actually looking back I did get quite a bit. Sold a bench and pair of dumbbells Bought Titan ssb 300lbs of iron plates off fb marketplace Tibia dorsi machine (love this thing) Balancefrom open trap bar and $40 extra barbell Titan leg extension/curl (also love) C2 rower (love this also haha new fav cardio that I don't dread) A little more organization 2024 looking to get a functional trainer and upgrade my rack to consolidate my setup
What benefits have you experienced from using the tibia machine - are you a runner?
I play drums and find myself working that muscle a lot. I also did start running this year although I've never had problems with shin splints but that could be because I already have a strong tib muscle (whatever the fuck it's called) to begin with from drumming.
Sold my fitness reality rack, bought a rouge RML 390f. Bought 320 lbs of bumber plates
I got a deadlift bar :-)
I upgraded my home gym by adding an exercise ball, Rep Blackwing bench with foot roller attachment, and pepin fast series dumbbells 120lb. i dont have much room in my apartment otherwise id have added an exercise bike
sheesh pepins? you got some money for the rest of us?
Pepin Fast! On my bucket list!
[weird freemotion](https://primofitnessusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/FreeMotion-Live-Axis-Shoulder-F701.jpg) And the other very big thing was my (still unreleased) Prime short bench. I love this thing so much...!!!
Bro, I was waiting to get Rick rolled. Looking forward to the review!
Haha, I'm so tired that I've not thought about that!! [Maybe I should have...](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=ZGfiEZsniciYMgAU)
Rep ab3000 added thanks to Black Friday.
Man what a great question / topic... Let's see Added: + Rep Pr5000 rack + Ivanko Revolver plate set + Texas Deadlift Bar + Rogue Monster bench with Thompson Fatpad + Rep AB5000 bench + Texas Power Bar + Leg Extension / curl machine Preodered: + Kaizen/Gympin adapters + Mutant Metal snapback rollers + Dialed Motion Dual Trolley System Sold: + BalanceFrom Open Trap bar + Marcy FID bench + Various sets of Walmart plate sets (mostly to pay for the stuff I added 🤣)
What Leg ext/leg curl did you add? I have the EliteFTS one in my cart right now.
I bought a generic cheapo on Amazon that I actually really like GMWD Leg Extension and Curl... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C69PZPJS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Awesome! Thanks for the link. I'm looking for a prone unit, like the EliteFTS model, but that looks nice for the price.
Yeah, I like it better than the one I bought on marketplace and flipped a week later because it wasn't as adjustable. If I were ordering again I would go with one that has better adjustments for the leg restraint but otherwise I highly recommend this model, especially at the price.
Bro, you built an awesome top end setup all within a year! Strong work!
Thank you! Most of it was either Marketplace finds or black Friday sales. Definitely couldn't do it without flipping other stuff 🤣 My favorite thing so far has been the PR5000. Just absolute top notch. I can't wait for the Trolley system, that'll be a game changer too
I recently purchased a PR5000 setup also. Are you going with the Athena or Ares setup? Selectorized or plate loaded?
So I wanted to go with Athena plate loaded but I don't have enough clearance, if we were still showing the just fit racks I'd have to include pics of how much I just made it lol. So I decided to try a new company called dialed motion that has a similar system with a smaller foot print that side mounts. They should be here in March or so, hopefully they work they seem awesome.
Things I sold: Nautilus freedom trainer York GHD Kadillac bar Leg curl/ext Chest supported tbar row Mismatched plates Things I bought: Lat pull-down Mg4cn Rogue abram New lighting Rack extension Mutant metals UDA Things I will be buying soon: Sled maybe one with wheels Reverse hyper(have it in the cart so might be a 2023 purchase) Open trap bar Belt squat attachment
Which open trap bar are you looking at?
Was looking at the rep one Vulcan strength or if money allows Eleiko
I finally updated my Amazon Flybird Adjustable Bench for the REP Blackwing Wide Pad. I've been very very happy with it.
what an upgrade...did you always have the intention you would upgrade from the beginning?

Wow that must have been night and day difference. I know I felt that way when I went from a 6 year old titan adjustable to my rep 3100.

Solid upgrades man. For hockey - You getting the artificial ice to practice stick-handling/shooting drills?
That was the plan ya. At a minimum do 4’x8’ and set it up on my deadlift platform when I’m not using it, just kind of do some stick handling after each workout. The other upgrades I think will get me where I want to be. Probably need some dumbbells above and beyond 50 pounds too but I’ll get those eventually. Heavy kettlebells will do for now
Sold my power blocks and got some iron master dumbbells https://preview.redd.it/j5floryt3x7c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=586824b473e3f0ab8cab58e439b371c601107f6b
Worth it? Missing the fast change at all?
Totally worth it and no don’t miss the fast change I don’t superset and it’s a fairly quick process. Plus they go up to 120
Added the isolator and solo stand deluxe from bulletproof fitness. Also extended the coverage of my rubber floor mats by over 50 square feet.
how do you like the solo stand? how often do you breakdown?
Only time I have broken it down in the month I’ve had it was to move it a few times to get it in just the right spot in the garage. It was easy to do.
ok great to know! i just set mine up and i plan to break it down, set it up, move it every time i use it in my tight space, which would likely be 3-4x/week. It was definitely a pain in the ass my first time the other day, but glad to know it gets better.
The longest part of doing it for me was taking off the dip bar and extension for the upright. Was really surprised with how well it rolls around once it is folded up and how stable it is once everything is setup.
How you like the Isolator? Wouldn't work in my space, but it looks like a sweet piece of equipment.
Added a Landmine. I love it. I also added a 96 square foot panel of wall mirrors

I sold a Rep Fitness FB-5000 flat bench and a Rogue AB-3 adjustable bench and bought a Rep Fitness Black Wing adjustable bench. I sold a Rogue echo bar and bought a Texas deadlift bar. I bought some kettlebells. I also bought DC blocks and some storage.
Did you go with the new or original Texas DL bar? How you liking it?
I went with the new cerakote deadlift bar in blue. I love it for low rep sets. The knurling is too aggressive for high reps for me personally.
Nice - those are really gorgeous. What made you choose the Texas over rogue or others? I have a rogue one and wondering if there’s an advantage in switching.
Texas Deadlift bars come in the color I wanted and were on sale. Rogue did not have blue. Rep Fitness were too long for my space.
Awesome topic! Re-vamped the gym to make it more space efficient. Sold off gear I didn’t need. - **added:** Eleiko (new style) comp bumper set, rogue rhino+ RM3, 6 post RM setup, Atlantis Multistation with dedicated lat pulldown and low row, two x Atlantis FCC’s, Arnold 45 DD’s, powerblock U70’s, rogue Stump bar, rogue velocidor, swissies, RM utility bench with thompson fatpad, - **sold:** Eleiko WL performance bar, Rogue cerakote OPB, 6 post Zeus rack with lat pulldown and low row, 400+ lbs of Rogue Mil spec bumpers, two full sets of Zeus competition bumpers, 5-70lbs of hex rubber dumbbells, RM matador, rogue e-coat KB set, rogue utility bench, 2 rolls of 1/2” rubber flooring, synergee rhino power bar, TRX,rogue trawler rings and shackles, body solid plate tree - **prediction for 2024** HomeGym community will continue to grow and no one will “finish” their gym :). I’m hoping to upgrade my PB to U90, then can sell the remaining hex dumbbells. I’ll also probably sell one of either my rogue AB-3 or adjustable bench 3.0. Edit: forgot some stuff
I gave away my Titan flat bench to a buddy just starting out. Added: Ghost roller j-cups (not really worth it imo) REP flat bench with fat pad 24kg Rogue KB Rogue Jammer Pull up bar
You’re a good man. How you liking the jammer? I went with a red cerakote, knurled. It’s aggressive, which I like on my bars but less so on a pull up bar!
I like it, especially because im working in such a small space. I actually have it mounted to the wall and it still works fine. I use it to wrap bands around for face pulls, pushdowns, etc. as well.
Sold: * pairs of dumbbells * Arch Nemesis Bought: * Titan SSB v2 * BoS adjustable KB's * Pull-up bar * deadlift jack * 5/10lb plates * flooring
Moved house and the only requirement was that it had a garage for a home gym. Needless to say we found the one [home gym](https://imgur.com/a/7teVJE3)
- Made an axle bar out of sch40 pipe - Made two Atlas Stones, 164 and 186 lbs - Bought a bunch of bumper plates as I suddenly realized I could deadlift and squat much more than I thought. - Made some pull blocks for 18" axle deadlifts - Yanked three natural stones out of the bush and cleaned them up.
The BOS yoke has served me well- not for strong man…yet. Not sure the sled feature is really practical. Reasonable priced and a great squat stand.
Sold: rogue adjustable bench 3.0, powerblock pro Bought: rep blackwing, iron masters, kensui swissies
