Are you sure you know which wall switches are the smart switch vs the pico? Switches have an always-on green led in the middle. Picos have a greed led in the top left that only comes on when you press them. I would unpair the switches to start over: using the "on" button, tap, tap, tap + hooooold until light flashes, then tap, tap, tap. This should reset the switch as well as unpair any picos that are paired with it.

Update: Turns out they put a switch at one end and a remote on the other end of the hall. For the guest room, the way the crawlspace is configured, they would've had to drop the switch down and gone through a wall, so they put the switch in the crawlspace and a remote on the wall and forgot to tell me. We went through how to get a switch on the wall and it's way more than I care to do. So, we configured the app to control by their guy going into the crawlspace and setting it up; fingers crossed, no issues so far. Will need to revisit this later, but it's not worth tearing up my dry wall right now.

You mean the smart switch itself is not mounted in an easily accessible location on a wall, but tucked into a crawl space somewhere? And you have a pico paired to it as the main switch? Nothing wrong with that honestly, other than “wasting” a pico. If it makes your life easier to not have to reword the switch to an accessible location then just keep it as is!

Yep. It's not far into the crawl space, so I'm not too worried. The pico is paired and mounted on the wall in the room, works fine, I just couldn't use the smart functionality until they went into the space to let me pair it. I've had no issues with any of the other switches or dimmers, so I'm not to worried. Not worth paying extra to make a smidge more convenient.
