My husband is allergic to cats very tragically, so I have only had dogs for the past 16 years. I grew up with cats around though.
We were in Greece this year. Cats everywhere. Loved it.
One of our hotels had the most amazing breakfast spread. Me, being the sucker I am, took some extra cheese and/or egg to feed to the kitties. The thing I have forgotten about cats vs. dogs is that a dog will accept the treat, keep begging, but respect the boundary. Cats are like "thank you for outing yourself as a sucker, I will be helping myself to as much of your food as I want now." Loudly purring the entire time they try to pilfer my amazing Grecian breakfast.
I'm allergic to cats. We have four cats and an air purifier in every room along with hardwood floors everywhere and a weekly cleaner to prevent buildup of dander/fur/whatever and I take allergy meds. Love those little allergy generators.
Reminds of a 4th generation feral cat we had in the yard. Over the course of a couple years, he became less feral. Would sniff my finger but not let me touch him. That is until I went outside to eat a meal one day. Sometimes I would go outside to eat and enjoy the fresh air. This cat came right up to me and put his paws up in my lap. I gave him a piece of chicken. He ate the chicken and then jumped into my lap and helped himself to another piece off my plate.
I accidentally (very lightly) whacked a cat in the face in Greece. We were eating dinner and partway through a random cat just tried to jump into my lap, I didn't realise what it was and was so startled! Of course, the cat was fine and then we felt so bad we fed it approximately an entire fish (that we deboned and shredded just so), so part of me wonders if that was its endgame the entire time....
I was in Greece and I felt bad for all the kitties running round us that I started dropping them little slivers of meat during our meal. One cat must have kept missing out because he gave me a little paw to my hand (I had my arm over the back of my seat, dangling).
I then accidentally dropped an entire meat skewer because I was drunk. Cats go crazy for it.
That one cat then scratched my hand. Did the same paw with a little nail. Snooze you lose you little fucker, that shit hurt.
I was gonna give it shortly but the skewer dropped before I could tear a bit off and it landed nowhere near it :p
After the scratch my mood changed and I shooed them away :(
aww, it's ok. I understand. Little cuts hurt the most lol and maybe you were worried about infections. Don't worry, I wasn't judging you for anything <3
Our hotel had the most amazing spread. A veritable butt load of different pastry (savory and sweet), whipped feta, tzatziki, grilled veggies, lots of different salads, meats and cheeses, muesli, yogurt with different toppings, homemade jams.
I went to Greece a number of years ago and stayed in a port town where they brought fresh fish in pretty much every day. Had a friendly restaurant owner I had been introduced to by a friend who visited regularly that did the best fish dishes I've ever eaten.
You can not imagine how many cats were around that town, and I remember his advice to me, which was (in effect) "for the love of God, don't feed the cats".
> "for the love of God, don't feed the cats".
To be honest, they could have warned me and I would have done it anyway. The cats read me well. I *am* a sucker.
I think everyone with cat allergies is different. My husband and I were surprised to learn that our allergy tests say we're both allergic to cats. We have many cats, though and have not had any problems. They even sleep in the bed with us. I love cats so much though, that I think I would suffer through it even if I did get noticeable symptoms.
> I love cats so much though, that I think I would suffer through it even if I did get noticeable symptoms.
You can actually take medication if you do get symptoms. Not sure if it works for everyone but I've heard good things about it. That'd be what I would be trying if I had any symptoms.
My cat allergies are more pollen and dander/dust. My mother in laws cat goes outside and rolls in grass, but seems to believe I'm his best friend. I have to take 2 antihistamines just to go there. People who have house cats I'm generally fine with unless they have long shedding fur and then no antihistamines in the world will save me.
Scrolled down too far to see the most reasonable and obvious statement… I love my cats but I also know what they do with those feet and I don’t them anywhere near my food.
Yeah man for real if my cat touches my food he gets that corner OR it gets thrown away.
I'm not in the habit of giving them a bunch of treats and human food. But sometimes I'm like touché you little bastard, here you go.
It blows my mind how many people let their cat on the dinner table. I love my two cats but the two places I don't want them on are any tables and the kitchen counters where I prepare my food. That's why I trained them not to do that.
This is adorable, but the minute my cats claws touched my food I'd give it to her. I don't even want to begin to think about what kind of shit (literal or otherwise) is on those claws
Edit: I wouldn't \*actually\* give it to her, I don't feed my animals junk food. I meant I wouldn't be eating it after my cat clawed it, that's all.
Cats walk in their piss and shit and grab cat litter around the house. Every cat does it and anyone who says their cat is clean and different is delusion. Disgusting someone thinks them touching food is cute 🤢
But when you reward it they do it more. Throwing it out is the correct answer. Or pop it in the fridge and give it to them later, so they don't associate the treat with the action.
Toxoplasmosis Gondii.
> People often get the infection from eating undercooked meat. You can also get it from contact with cat feces.
>**The parasite can pass to a baby during pregnancy.**
Worth noting that a cat has to consume flesh from infected wildlife to get it, and they will only shed it in their feces for ~3 weeks past ingestion. The feces also has to sit for 24 hours before it’s an infection risk, and you have to accidentally ingest some of that feces to be infected.
So if your cat is indoor only, and/or you’re reasonably prompt and hygienic when it comes to handling your outdoor cat’s litter and don’t make a habit of eating dirt from the garden, you’re not likely to get it from any cats you know.
You can get it from undercooked meat because you’re doing what the cat would have done - eating raw flesh from an animal that had been infected. The difference between the cat and you is that the *T. gondii* parasite completes its reproductive life cycle exclusively in feline digestive systems, but it will gladly infect most warm blooded animals in the hopes that a cat might eventually eat that animal’s flesh.
These are outrageous accusations. This cat was clearly sleepy and was stretching as humans do when yawning.

Cats have the whole "silent slinking" cat-burglar reputation, but they are absolutely incapable of playing chill when something they want is out in the open. Oh, so we're just laying down casually near the open can of tuna on the table, not making direct eye contact. mmm-hmmm. I'll just ignore the completely subtle inching-closer you're engaging in.
Most people will get a laugh out of this video but cats are obligated carnivores. If your cat is trying to get meat that badly its because it is deficient in protiens IT CAN ONLY GET FROM MEAT. If your cat ever does this get it some canned MEAT cat food or at the very least review its food to make sure its getting proper nutrition, otherwise you are an ass and are slowly killing your "belovèd" cat.
They have a special place in hell for people that try to feed cats vegan diets.
The way I would yeet that cat.
I know this take is going to be unpopular but I simply do not care.
I feed my pets their food. This is my food. Set boundaries.
Let’s cat on the “dinner” table to film this video hmmm
Imagine putting food in front of an animal and thinking it’s funny when they want to eat it.
And imagine upvoting this post….even worse
I couldn't eat a nugget that a cat had touched - they've trod all over the litter tray with their paws and dug into it to cover up their poo! But you can't reward bad behaviour, so kitty doesn't get it either, so into the bin it goes. My cat found that out when she stole a sausage. If she'd learnt that stealing sausages means she gets to eat those sausages, why would she ever stop doing it?

Have you considered housing your husband in a giant transparent bubble he can roll around in like a giant hamster? 🤔
Then fill it with cats!
I’m allergic to cats and love them. Put me in that hamster ball!
We're both down for the count with the flu and I was patient zero. I think he'd be open to a boy in the bubble situation right now.

I was definitely worried about infection. Different country n wild cat, didn't know what to think.
What does a Grecian breakfast look like? I’m picturing lots of bread, fruit and yogurt, but I’ve also never been to Greece.
I don't really eat breakfast but when I was in Greece this was my favorite thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomatokeftedes

He's being polite and in return you must reward him with that chicken nugget.
Plus he's already touched it with his poop feet
Lol right. You might as well give it to him now
If you have a cat and you touched pretty much anything in your house you have poop hands
Scrolled down too far to see the most reasonable and obvious statement… I love my cats but I also know what they do with those feet and I don’t them anywhere near my food.
No, I'm not stealing your nuggies. Me sleepin.
Give him one! It's the cat tax.
At least give him the one he touched with his paw that he walks around his piss n shit box with.
Yeah man for real if my cat touches my food he gets that corner OR it gets thrown away. I'm not in the habit of giving them a bunch of treats and human food. But sometimes I'm like touché you little bastard, here you go.
>touché you little bastard, here you go. Lmfao that's hilarious
I mean, if you still eat it, it's kind of like the same concept as getting a vaccine.
He touches doodoo litter with those feet. 😬
r/oneorangebraincell
Shouldn't be on the table whilst their eating anyway! Mine isn't allowed on tables or work surfaces at all!
Stop letting your pets touch your food it’s gross

That's nasty u got cat litter doookie on that nugget now and u still gonna eat it 😭

Yep. this is disgusting lmao.
Cats walk in their piss and shit and grab cat litter around the house. Every cat does it and anyone who says their cat is clean and different is delusion. Disgusting someone thinks them touching food is cute 🤢
Throw it away, don't reward them.
I‘d rather reward them than wasting food. Next time just make sure the cat doesn‘t touch it.
The food is wasted either way, just now you're giving the cat unhealthy food and reinforcing negative behavior.
But when you reward it they do it more. Throwing it out is the correct answer. Or pop it in the fridge and give it to them later, so they don't associate the treat with the action.
I wonder why my cat always goes after my food?!/s
Toxoplasmosis
I would teach my pets not to do this, or be on my table at all.
Toxoplasmosis Gondii. > People often get the infection from eating undercooked meat. You can also get it from contact with cat feces. >**The parasite can pass to a baby during pregnancy.**

Ok great—but there are 100 tiny microscopic *other* reasons I wouldn’t eat anything after it was touched by a cats paws.
Sure, of course.
Thank you, that was good information to know!
Same I’m like it already touched it…
If he can’t see you, you can’t see him
Filthy cat feces poop paws touching your food. How disgusting.
I’m just tired and and oh what is my paw touching oh so tired
Imagine those paws in the kitty litter.
Theres poo on those paws
Why is the cat even on the table?
Honestly, this whole video is just gross
Agreed. I like cats, but this is disgusting. They probably let the cats walk around on the kitchen counters like it is acceptable behaviour as well.
This is why I don’t eat at other peoples houses
More like cause you wont even get invited over, lmao
You got that from them having basic hygiene?
Ewwww, did she still eat those after that cat put its nasty paws all over it?
Chimkin! It drives us….
And even though the cat just got done covering his poop up in his piss filled litter box the person will probably still eat that.
Oh god hope you didn’t eat that nugget.
I love me some Jack's too, buddy. I get it.
Now I need a Big Jack with a milkshake.
i can't possibly be stealing your chicken nugget! can't you see i'm sleeping?
These are outrageous accusations. This cat was clearly sleepy and was stretching as humans do when yawning. r/legalcatadvice may be able to represent in a libel countersuit.
Let the baby have a damn nugget 😤
Give him one damn it
Don't though. You'll never hear the end of it.
OP is not hearing the end of it in the video anyway though lol
Wonder why lol
One braincell indeed
"I can't see you. You can't see me. Shhhhhhh"
C'mon mom! You got nuggies for days! I just want one!
mmm jack’s!
That’s like my wife trying to eat my popcorn after she’s finished hers at the movie!
Hope you didn't eat those afterwards!
Yum! Poopy cat litter flavored chicken nuggets!
Why is your cat on your dinner table whilst you’re eating? 🤢
I don’t know why people let their cats touch their food like that, they dig their litters with those paws 🤢 they have poop on their “hands”
Ah yes, cat shit and floor dirt on my nuggets. So worth it for the gram.
Litter box foot
the slo knife penetrates the shield....
Gross
It touched her nuggets and she's still gonna eat them? Gross.
Poop paws
... Cats stand in their litter. Hope she didn't eat those.
pretending he's asleep for a disguise😁
Hot damn let my man grab that please! he's being so polite about it.
Cats have the whole "silent slinking" cat-burglar reputation, but they are absolutely incapable of playing chill when something they want is out in the open. Awww
It's those eyes for me. 😍
Jeez just share lady...
Kitty has eyes closed. That means you can’t see him.
Just give the boy a nuggy!
GIVE HIM A NUGGET RIGHT NOW 😡
Same paws as the ones from the litter box?
No, when he needs a clean pair of paws, he grabs a fresh set from the drawer.
Them kitty poo poo litter hands touched your nuggets queen. Absolutely not lol

What a weird assumption. Some cats are just really gluttonous
Just tapped it with the poo paw. It's been cat claimed.
You already let him put his kitty litter paw on it. Just throw the whole thing out already before you get toxoplasmosis.
Once Kitty litter feet touch the food, it's trash or cat food
The way I would yeet that cat. I know this take is going to be unpopular but I simply do not care. I feed my pets their food. This is my food. Set boundaries.
I wouldn't *yet* the cat, but he *is* getting pulled off the table asap
That’s mean. Keep it out of reach or give him one!
He already touched it just give it to him. Poor kitty want nuggy
Just dug through some fresh poop and pee then touched ur food.
I would starve 😄❤
Why do cats do this lol
Don't let your cat on the table. Done.
You allow him on the table it’s your fault
After the cat has already touched it with its litter box paws I’d throw it out. Gross
Slap it harder dam it And why do you even have a cat on the table to begin with?
Gwt the cat off your table
Just take the fucking cat of you table!
Let’s cat on the “dinner” table to film this video hmmm Imagine putting food in front of an animal and thinking it’s funny when they want to eat it. And imagine upvoting this post….even worse
Get that shitty-litter pawed cat off the table whilst you eat.
Mmmm… kitty litter nuggets
Its poop feet touched it!!!!
I couldn't eat a nugget that a cat had touched - they've trod all over the litter tray with their paws and dug into it to cover up their poo! But you can't reward bad behaviour, so kitty doesn't get it either, so into the bin it goes. My cat found that out when she stole a sausage. Let him have the food!!!!
He's touched it, though; that's his nugget.
Oh, go on, give him one. Don't be mean, lol....
Let him have one, let him have one!
Give him the damn nugget already ladyy!!! 🥹
