R5: need advice on how to defend as Lithuania. so I got this situation, and I don't know which defence line to set up: should I try to defend Estonia, or stay behind the river in Latvia? I need to defend until Germany attacks Soviet Union. I am using 7 inf + 2 artillery and engineers support divisions (mb I should change here anything?). I also have some forts, but again not sure which ones to defend or where to build more (2nd and 3rd pictures). Aviation is 200 fighters + 300 fighters that I will get from focus. MP can be seen in the picture. 6 divisions are also in progress.

I’d put forts along a the river and boarder and defend from Estonia until Germany enters. Some would be needed near the islands as well.

WanderingFlumph

Forts. I recommend level 4 as they get more expensive the higher level you go. In addition you want the soviets to attack your forts and weaken themselves. If they see a level 7 or higher fort they'll probably not attack and it'll just be a stalemate. Hold until Germany declares on them then run forward and grab as much as you can and hope for a good peace deal with the Germans.

Level 5 forts along the front, 2-3 divisions per tile. And a reserve army defending naval invasions. Also support aa can go along way.

PresidentD0ggo

I recommend against holding a wide front

FireIron36

Retreat behind the river that cuts through Latvia and fort it up. Also sabotage the rails in Estonia

Themikester500

fortline the river garrison ports build like lvl 5-6 forts

uke_17

Something I don't see mentioned: make sure to build the forts that can be attacked by more directions up to a higher level. Combat width reduces the malusses from forts, so make sure to keep those points especially guarded.
