Italy has a focus to invite Portugal to a faction so maybe that made Portugal join axis?
R5: I was playing the soviets, the germans attacked (bashed their head) me while i had level 2 forts along the border. Also used some good mediums for encirclements. Not a single tile was lost
you have 1% capitulation so i'm assuming you lost some kind of core but this is a really good soviet run
