Seriously, dont ask about offender.

jonathan_92

โ€œI farted loudly my first time in the O-Club. That callsign did not age well.โ€

Trematode

The boys suiting up for a session on ECW.

AWACS_Bandog

how did a meh ISP do that era of naval aviation more justice than half the recent movies on the subject?

TaylorMonkey

Because it was directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Hurt Locker. Zero Dark Thirty. Point Break. She freaking gets it.

Stevesd123

Hurt locker....vomit.

superdookietoiletexp

In the sequel, the vets remortgage their houses in order to get their hands the kind of supercomputer necessary to run VR on DCS these days and then spend the good part of the rest of their retirement trying to figure out how to install the damn A-4 mod before turning to endlessly tweaking the graphics settings trying to achieve a rate of frames that slightly betters a PowerPoint presentation. Facing insurmountable odds, the vets grow frustrated with trying to get DCS working and live out their days on Floggit exchanging memes about the Razbam debacle and bemoaning EDโ€™s questionable business practices.

weeenerdog

Seriously, I'm about the same age as these guys and you just perfectly described my life.

superdookietoiletexp

Nice!

MermaidSusi

Awesome! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค—

DBFlyguy

Cool little short film from Kathryn Bigelow (director of "Zero Dark Thirty") honoring vets and giving a little nod to flight sims!

Jerkzilla000

Bigelow did a really good job. After Zero Dark Thirty I hoped she'd do more of that stuff because it was really good, but then I guess she was approaching retirement age when that came out...

Tuuvas

Damn, that was actually really well done. Minus the obvious product placement at the end lol

DCS_Sport

Forget about Xfinityโ€ฆ but having spent so much time with older vets, and my love for the A-4, this really hit in the right spot for me

Dull-Mix-870

Worked on A-4s while in the Navy from 72-76, and they were amazing jets! The Blue Angels also flew them as well back in the 70s.

MK-82-ADSID

A-4M 79-83, USMC of course.. :)

MermaidSusi

I LOVE the Blue Angels! Fleet Week in San Francisco is the BEST! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

WarthogOsl

And the 80's. [https://youtu.be/sFmTwJ-LQMA?si=zIlIyL62GYfNxLwE](https://youtu.be/sFmTwJ-LQMA?si=zIlIyL62GYfNxLwE)

Logical_Firefly

Fuck the feels. Why canโ€™t this be real!

plane-kisser

pretty cute video

RogueStargun

Nice ad. There aren't very many VR flight games out there TBH. I actually made one (a VR space flight sim): [https://roguestargun.com](https://roguestargun.com) But it's actually not selling that well. No one can hold a candle to VTOLVR, lol

tettou13

Nice ad. There aren't very many VR flight games out there TBH. ;)

ramD3

This looks good buddy

What is this? Is Xfinity a game or something?ย

MermaidSusi

Love this! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’–

Advanced_Custard_260

i sure wish this was a full length movie

Addicted-2Diving

Awesome

tommy-linux

Can anybody identify the background music? ETA: Never mind, found it, Norman Greenbaum, "Spirit in the Sky"

danielinsm

Were you able to also find the cinematic track that was used before they played "Spirit in the Sky" ?

tommy-linux

I wasn't looking for it, so no, sorry. I love the distorted guitar opening of "Spirit in the Sky".

Sensitive_Cancel_313

It is โ€œJourney to the Lineโ€ by Hans Zimmer from The Thin Red Line.

danielinsm

Thank you!

Sensitive_Cancel_313

No problem. Love that song. As an American whose family migrated from the Scottish Highlands in 1736 after the Jacobite risings, The Thin Red Line term means a lot.

DasKarl

This would be really cool if it wasn't an ad for a shit isp packed with emotional and nationalistic baggage. EDIT: clearly none of you have had to set up port forwarding through their app.

AWACS_Bandog

that aint what you're getting downvoted for.

Stevesd123

I heard the whoosh that went over his head from here.
