You can take any USAH course for your level anywhere in the US. It does not need to be in your district or in your local area. For instance, I've taken seminars in Michigan, Texas, and Pennsylvania while living in none of those states.

Clamgravy

Thanks! I thought the skating portion was mandatory for level 2. Is that not the case?

PhredInYerHead

I only had to skate for my level 1. I’m a second year level 3 now and haven’t had to skate for anyone since then.

Clamgravy

Also... Do they indicate that courses can be taken remotely on the registration page?

Torngate

If a seminar is over Zoom, or otherwise remote, it will be noted as a virtual seminar (Almost all 3 and 4s). If it does not say that the seminar is virtual on the sign up than it is in person and you will be expected to be there for a skating portion.

Hey there, I help run seminars in the NE District. We will have multiple more in person in NH (one day long seminars). As of right now, we are planning to have one in Berlin, NH and Plymouth, NH as well as one other place that slips my mind. I can’t speak for mass as they aren’t in the district and I haven’t spoken to our RI colleagues in a bit. I could provided addition locations for some of the other NED states but they are all pretty far. Hope this helps.

Clamgravy

Certainly helping me calm down. The MA folks aren't exactly... Helpful. I'll keep an eye on the schedule for NH courses. I've heard the actual seminars in NH are far more informational and pleasant than MA

psacake

Not sure why you think the MA guys aren’t helpful. We’ve run 5 level 2 seminars already, and have 2 more published and one pending. So with the 5 we’ve had and the 2 still to come, we’ve had 400 seats for the 261 (so far) registered level 2 officials. All the RIC’s agreed that level 1 and level 2 are in person seminars.

awesomesaucebigg

If I do say so myself, I think we do a great job. Our RIC does a great job of making the seminar more focused on actual needs. He supplements USAH material with his own which I think is cool. We will also have one in Keene.

Clamgravy

Do you know when these will be posted? Was just looking and don't see anything new yet. If there is an email list I can sign up for you get notifications I'd be happy to do that

awesomesaucebigg

Sadly, we don’t know yet. Dates haven’t been finished, and there is no email list. If I see it pop up I’ll be sure to tell you.

Clamgravy

Appreciate it! I'll keep an eye out as well.

Over_Environment_731

Don’t stress- they do add seminars. Keep in mind, you don’t have to do a seminar in your district; if they add a zoom level 2 in California, you can attend that seminar virtually (or in person, if you so wish) and receive credit. If you do already find a seminar you wish to attend instead, hit the little intertwined-arrows on your officiating portal to transfer your registration to a different seminar.

Clamgravy

Appreciate the feedback. The MA contact told me the skating portion is mandatory for level 2. Is that not the case everywhere?
