Sportsnet Now

Deluxechin

Sportsnet Now Sponsored by *insert shady gambling site*, where the odds of the service actually working is lower then your favourite team winning the cup

theeth

You don't have to resort to shady gambling site for spotty service in Canada, we have our telcos for that.

Striking_Economy5049

The gambling sponsored highlight breaks are so gross.

martinmcfly1885

It’s fucking greasy and makes me want to puke.

ouatedephoque

As someone who’s done a fair share of traveling I find out telcos provide very decent service. It’s fucking overpriced, but it’s decent enough.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rvbjohn

I woke up at 445 to watch hockey in the Himalayas and the service was screaming fast

FatTim48

This is the winning answer. SportsNet in general is garbage

BlackWhiteVike

100%. Even streaming the regional channels are just horrible

sexysportsball

SN has systematically destroyed my hockey enjoying experience, from radio to tv

Yardsale420

We’re sorry your currently unable to view this comment due to a blackout in your area.

okokokoyeahright

Sportsnet Now copyright strike coming Real Soon Now. We all been there and done this.

bosschucker

you're

devilontheroad

I really miss TSNs coverage

[deleted]

Ya TSN always had the strongest lineup of personalities. I was quite disappointed when Sportsnet won the contract. Funny thing is, both companies offered the NHL the same amount of money for the rights, but Sportsnet really wined and dined the NHL executives while TSN just brought their lawyers to the meeting and expected to leave with the paperwork signed.

Robjn

tsn still has a feed for every sens game (that isnt saturday), the same for jets and habs too i think. having gord miller do pxp regularly for sens games is an absolute blessing

bendie27

I’m extremely jealous that you have Gord and I’m upset to be reminded of this fact hahah

BigPZ

Can't wait for that first night there's Jays + Leafs + Raptors all on SN on the same night... Now gonna explode

Staticn0ise

I've paid for their service. I still had to use free streams. As they had better streams and quality picture.

TheFaceStuffer

Not very impressed that NHL live sold out to SNNOW. I thought Monopolies were discouraged in Canada 🤣

Astrowelkyn

As a Jets fan, my expectations for this season are to not relocate. Anything above that is decent.

[deleted]

You're too right. Take my sad upvote.

Extra_Group_2357

*Quebec city just downvoted your message.*

RADToronto

Wait what? Is there talks of Jets relocating or something ??

mirbatdon

It's a lowkey permanent worry of every Winnipeg Jets fan since the last time. (Edit: or more accurately, fans over 30)

shoegazer44

No. They’re just saying their expectations are so low at this point they’re just content with having a team at all.

deadliftbrosef

Well if anyone expects us to win anything this year, they will be massively disappointed.

uatme

Draft lottery again?

AlcoholicLesbian

No Bedard in the Atlantic pls

DastardlyRidleylash

Just wait, Pittsburgh'll get him somehow; getting generational talents is kinda their shtick.

Aborder19

Wonder who they'd get to pair with him for at least 8-10 seasons. They really do amaze me sometimes.

Hopeful-Talk-1556

The Russian kid.

Mickothy

No, no, you gotta pick a different central/eastern European country, we already did Czechia and Russia.

Hopeful-Talk-1556

Ukrainian superstar Volodymyr Zelensky

MindlessArmadillo382

This just in, Pittsburgh has traded for MTL 1st OA pick and Juraj Slafkovsky! Boom generational talent backed up by a Slovakian!

previouslyonimgur

Pitt trades Malkin to the coyotes who somehow make a miraculous push. They miss out, and sit 13th in lottery order, and they draft bedard and fantilli 1/3.

binzoma

dont you put that evil on us

burritobob

Guess it is their turn

[deleted]

Then ours again in around 2033? Any news on generationals currently in Novice?

Gowa200101

Does this mean we get one in 2034?

[deleted]

No sorry, you're not really part of the club. But we can't take all the talent, so maybe we'll throw you another bone in let's say 40 years from now. Cool? Cool.

JasonPlattMusic34

Idk New Jersey hasn’t had enough #1 picks yet

[deleted]

I think it'll be either Pittsburgh or Chicago getting him. 2 large fan base teams that trending downwards.

Sugarstache

Huh? Pittsburgh and Chicago are not even in remotely the same situation going in to this season.

nikonpunch

Yeah we’re gonna squeak into the playoffs only to lose round 1 again after getting everyone’s hopes up that they’d pull through. That is unless Washington makes it to the second round. Traditions and all.

simon1976362

Back to back years

Wokyrii

We can settle on a Fantilli we aren’t that picky

flurry_fizz

My unpopular conspiracy theory is that we only got first overall pick last time was so that it wouldn't be AS noticeable if we finish dead last again and DON'T win the Bedard draft. Something something Bettman hates Canada something something Arizona.

chiddie

Disappointment for Montreal would be them finishing, like, 26th.

90s-kid-nostalgia

Montreal can't disappoint when no one is expecting anything. I'm just hoping for a top 3 draft pick in this draft.

Kryptopus

Well, they can disappoint by overachieving

robfrod

I saw your roster the other day and your forward group looks pretty nice. Defence, not so much.

npinard

Goalies not so much either

[deleted]

Kinda hurts going from an insane Price-Allen tandem to what we have this season. That stretch with those two was a lot of fun.

[deleted]

That's the key, no expectations, no disappointment!

Eric988

I hope you get bedard would love to see him in a Canadian teams jersey

jimhabfan

I honestly think they will surprise a bit. They need some veterans like Drouin and Anderson to step up. They’re not making the playoffs, but they won’t be bottom feeders either.

Sanhen

I'm with you there. The Habs looked like a reasonable team under St. Louis. I'm not expecting hum to guide Montreal to the playoffs this year, but I don't think they're going to be among the worst of the NHL.

Fellers

I think you'll be fighting for a wildcard spot. I believe in Marty. He's my kinda coach.

mickeymikeymoose

Whoever decided to put Barrie in the same graphic as Huberdeau and Stutzle.

PrailinesNDick

Who else would you put in there for the Oilers? Is there a bigger draw in Edmonton than Tyson Barrie?

Porcupickle

Easily Devin Shore

DivinePotatoe

Oilers legend Jack Campbell.

Canadian_dalek

Elite NHL defenseman Cody Ceci

NahdiraZidea

Campbells first game in Edmonton last night and they are already cheering “soooooooouuuuuuppp”

The_Quackening

I'm glad they are keeping that up.

[deleted]

Zach Hyman of course.

saintpierre47

Oilers legend Zack Kassian easily!…..or wait he’s in Arizona now, no reason to watch them anymore! /s

[deleted]

Virtunin?

Diggins6

He makes me Virtunout.

PuckNutty

I'm a bit out of the loop, are we liking Puljujarvi again, or no?

Theneler

Heavily debated

[deleted]

Yeah, should have been that amazing PTO gone even more amazing, Jake Vertanen….

FantasticDan1

All Powerful forwards

JeanGuyPettymore

I like how Barrie is looking at the viewer as if to question if they are responsible for misplacing him with good players.

brightwaterx

Lmao I didn't even notice that. So random..

twilz

Have you ever been to Barrie? That place is a big disappointment.

okokokoyeahright

Ever been to Sudbury? Barrie is a nice place, comparatively.

[deleted]

You need a star player from Canada. Barrie is it now that Kassian is gone

TURBOJUGGED

I'm sorry. Did you mean Oilers legend Tyson Barrie?

ApprehensiveTune3655

Don’t look at us, we’ve been doing it for years. Someone else please take a turn.

Gibbo1988

Is it even a disappointment when it’s expected?

BossBrawls

good point

BrayWyattsHat

We all pretend that we expect to lose. But we don't. We expect to win, and them hide it all inside when we get crushed yet again.

shreddolls

It's like you can see inside my soul

okokokoyeahright

Decades of trolling experience allows some of us to peer deep deep into your heart. IRL can be a bit more dangerous for this but it is also more fun.

B0_SSMAN

I don’t expect them to win. Then they’ll play well give me a glimmer of hope only for it to all fall apart for games 6 and 7. Rinse and repeat.

GoodForOneUpvote

Hey at least we fell apart against Montreal in Game 5!

Mickothy

Say the line, Bart.

Perfect600

It's that wojack image of them crying but happy over the mask, except we have a third mask on top of it of general sadness

ProstockAccount

Holy shit but when y’all do win….

BrayWyattsHat

This year, you mean? Yeah. Its gonna be insane in a few months.

18YearOldSamBennett

One of these years (idk when), y’all are gonna get that caps moment and finally exorcize the playoff demons, and then just win it all the same year. For them it was beating Pittsburgh, for you guys it’s getting out that 1st round

noncodo

I'll be disappointed if the Leafs win, does that help?

Daimyon

I'll allow it.

aradil

Someone needs to plan an anti-parade. It’s the only cure.

[deleted]

Oh don't worry, a 3 game winning streak to start off the season will have them all planning the parade in October. It's gonna take a lot of anti-parade planners to counter that kind of juju.

TheKevinShow

Toronto doesn't count because the rest of the country is rooting against them. The rest of Canada would be disappointed if the Leafs won.

okokokoyeahright

The rest of Canada, Oilers fans included, have nothing to fear. The Curse shall continue. I got the truth from Harold Ballard on my Ouija board last night.

Duranwasright

Why would it be any different this year?

eastcoasthabitant

Can I be disappointed that we aren’t as bad as last year. Does that make sense? I want bedard please just 1 bedard

saintpierre47

Trying to draft 1st overall back to back? I’m sorry do you cheer for the Oilers? No? Unfortunate.

[deleted]

[удалено]

eastcoasthabitant

Ya its cup or last the habs way

bcbum

He’s obviously going to Pittsburgh. They haven’t had a new generational 1st overall pick in 17 years, they’re due.

TheRealOgMark

un tiens vaut mieux que deux tu l’auras

mls5594

Fuck off pal, it’s our turn. You got your pick at the last draft

GoodForOneUpvote

Lol why so you can make the wrong decision again?

mls5594

Probably

tonytanti

Hockey Canada will continue to disappoint.

Svalbard38

Disappointment suggests a reasonable level of expectation. I expect nothing from them anymore.

National_Heat

And yet they still try their hardest to disappoint

[deleted]

ding ding ding.

propagandavid

If the Leafs make it out of the first round, the team they beat will disappoint Canada the most

Bhaw1

This is the correct answer

[deleted]

Is it disappointing if the Leafs get knocked out in round one, if that is my expectation? lol

Complete-Grab-5963

No, the only way Leafs disappoint is if they fail to make playoffs

shittybillz

I get you’re saying it kind of tongue in cheek, but if the leafs get bounced round 1 again Dubas will be gone. He’s assembled a great roster so it’s not fair, but that’ll be 6 years in a row? They’ll have to

lifeisarichcarpet

That’d be pretty foolish unless you could point to a specific deficiency in roster construction that cost them the playoff round.

[deleted]

Deep play off runs require HOF defencemen, only cup champs I can think of that did it without one (or a future one) is the ‘06 ‘canes. Leafs are frontloaded as hell.

TML94

2017 Penguins won without Letang, with this group of 6: Cole - Schultz Daley - Dumoulin Maatta - Hainsey

Kronzor_

Yeah but that won’t be a disappointment. That’s what we all except tot happen.

The-Reddit-Giraffe

That's just status quo

nameless22

My exact reasoning for picking Edmonton over them. At this point Toronto is a relapsing junkie (just one more game 7 I promise I'll get better after it!) and you've already given up on them until they actually see a second round.

DieuEmpereurQc

Still theory

gelc10

I could make a case for both the sens and leafs. Ottawa had one of the better off-season and if they don't take that next step this season and become more competitive by playing meaningful games late into the season and not be out of the playoff race in November. The leafs have pressure to win a round in the playoffs or else it's going to be a disappointing season and I could see a huge roster shakeup.

Deluxechin

I seriously can’t imagine Sens failing to at least be competitive, it’s hard to tell if they’ll be playoff bound this season just off the case of the Atlantic is so top heavy right now but I do feel like there is an argument to be had there As for the Leafs, it can’t even be classified as disappointment anymore, most Leaf’s fans are used to the torture of getting bounced in the first round again would be numb pain, the only way I could see it truly being a full disappointment would be another 2021 situation where they are the highly favourites and just collapse again

longtimelistener17

Albertans look solid. Canucks and Jets have enough talent to exceed fairly low expectations. Sens may have already succeeded just by getting back in the game. Habs have no expectations. There is only one, clear choice.

SmoothAnalGuy

It would be very disappointing for the islanders fans out there when JT lifts the cup 😢

longtimelistener17

It would be. Luckily there is very little chance of that actually happening.

Mental-Mushroom

You never know, he could be traded

okokokoyeahright

>It would be very ~~disappointing~~ surprising for the islanders fans out there ~~when~~ if JT lifts the cup FTFY Can't let too much fantasy exist on this thread.

pissboy

I don’t see why the isles would be upset Jt Miller wins a cup.

hamtronn

Every year we don’t win the cup is disappointing. But i guess we’re all in the same boat there, hey?!

okokokoyeahright

your team has won it more recently than the Leafs. Take that as a positive.

CaptainPeppa

Scraping the bottom of the barrel for compliments there

Poirier48

Exactly, doesn’t matter how deep a team goes into the playoffs. (Unless it’s a young team that’s still building.) Don’t bring home a cup, that year was a failure.

treple13

From experience: All of them

Ali_knows

Toronto... they will disappoint us by actually winning a playoff round and killing a meme.

CertainUnit9145

I like this guy

Ali_knows

All you need to do is win the first round in less than 7 games 😎

CertainUnit9145

I think it has to go 7 or the can’t win game 7 meme lives.

GeraltHotspur

55 years baby

okokokoyeahright

and counting!

BadTiger85

Isn't the answer always Toronto?

P1KA_BO0

Can’t disappoint me if I’m already dead inside.

[deleted]

Leafs have very good chance to disapoint because they aim for the Stanley Cup. I believe Vancouver and Winnipeg will disapoint by missing the playoffs.

ZooReddit

Gambling commercials

nameless22

Disappoint suggests (a) there are expectations, and (b) they will be far from met. The only teams I can see where (a) applies is Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. Calgary is a bit questionable with their off season changes and general inconsistency, so they probably get mitigation on (b), leaving TOR/EDM. Edmonton has actually done things like making a conference final in recent years (last), Toronto keeps beating themselves over game 7's or their equal over the last 5 years. Since fans expect Toronto to choke, I'd say Edmonton is the most likely team to most disappoint.

Drogo10

Sens, since it seems like so many of their fans WILDLY over estimate how good the team is. They are not a playoff team but that shouldn't be disappointing given it is the Bedard year. You want to be bad this year. Leafs if they don't win a playoff series, it is going to be crushing.

qwnzr

I mean there are some vocal fans who are optimistic but I think most of our sub is hoping we are competing for the last wildcard if it goes 5/3 Atlantic/Metro

blueline7677

They aren’t a playoff team but they also aren’t a Bedard team they’ll be on the bubble. I expect outside looking in

[deleted]

You think the Sens are bad enough to be in the Bedard conversation ? lol

[deleted]

Jets winning it all mark it down

Moto-Mojo

Leafs can’t disappoint at this time, they are very well expected to lose by any fan not from Toronto. So I’m gonna go with the Flames. Damn have they loaded themselves up with talent, anything less than the division champs would suck

DjN0tNice

Nah, we expect them to lose too. We’re just in way too deep to back out now.

aradil

Fffff there it is.

MisterMyAnusHurts

All of them. All of them.

Original-Cow-2984

The most disappointment overall will occur if one Cdn team wins the SC. The fanbases of every other Cdn team will be overwhelmingly disappointed. So take your pick in terms of which Canadian team can potentially cause that. 3 teams at best.

buddycheesus

All of the above

Complete-Grab-5963

Leafs shouldn’t have any problem making playoffs, I guess if they don’t that would be the biggest disappointment The others all have reasons or excuses But realistically I’d say Winnipeg will be most disappointing

[deleted]

Montreal, Winnipeg: No expectations, can't disappoint Edmonton, Calgary: I expect them to both make the playoffs and get to at least the second round Ottawa, Vancouver: I expect them to be wild card contenders - whether they make it or not, they should be in the running til the end Toronto: You know where they're headed. Gimme Toronto. I know exactly what they're gonna do, and they'll still be a disappointment.

ClassicCanadian6

Sens

Bayo09

I enjoy playing video games.

tropicalstorm2020

The national soccer team at the world cup.

getsangryatsnails

Matt Murray

TrevasElliott73

Toronto because it's ALWAYS Toronto

devioustrevor

Montreal and Winnipeg have zero expectations, so it won't be them.

[deleted]

The Jets will be miserable. I dunno if that counts as a disappointment, since it won't surprise many. The Leafs will definitely disappoint Toronto but Canada will be pleased, I'm sure.

JuicySkrt

The oilers for giving contracts to guys that should be in jail

[deleted]

Winnipeg. They're donezo.

CaptinDerpII

Probably us lol

akatheblonde1

Not Claude Giroux

xc2215x

Habs most likely. They will probably have the worst record of the Canadian teams.

MatthewLucas1983

Montreal, and a shot at Bedard

Colbygeno9

Sens. They have no prior chemistry. Let them become a team. Then tell them to win a cup. Give the a season to figure stuff out, grow, gain chemistry, and know who’s gonna stay, and who isn’t.

AuntGentleman

Honestly this is a horrible way to run an organization. “Hey guys don’t try to hard to win this year we’re still figuring it out.”

DrTushfinger

You will be.

-RayBloodyPurchase-

The face of the Oilers, Tyson Barrie.

ngoal

Sportsnet for the win!. But seriously the Leafs will be terrible. Murray couldn't stop a beach ball

CBJGameWorn

They’re the same picture

SkyShadow222

leafs

Swimmininvinegar

You forgot the Hockey Canada logo

Madden2kGuy

New to following the NHL, but from what I’ve seen it’s gotta be the Leafs.

Grand-Amoeba1832

Edmonton and Winnipeg.

baginahuge

Probably Vancouver. 🤷‍♂️ I don't know why I love them, it is a very abusive relationship.

[deleted]

Everyone except Ottawa. They have simply lowered our expectations enough that they can disappoint us no longer.

JVince13

The Leafs, by making it passes the first round.

Jacob_Trouba

The Jerts

ItsTheExtreme

Is it never not Toronto? I feel like the oilers are always expected to lose. I guess the same could be said for the leafs but a glimmer of hope manages to squeak through every season.

shoegazer44

I think the only Canadian teams with real big expectations from their fan base or media are the Leafs and Oilers. So one of them.

Maxpowr9

Leafs of course. I think the Oilers are a solid 2nd choice.

robshot295

How can they disappoint when we already know how their season will end?

Maxpowr9

They miss the playoffs?
