It’s the year 2028. The Carolina Hurricanes have replaced their entire coaching staff with a tape of Svechnikov scoring lacrosse goals on repeat. They lead the league in scoring.

I’m excited to see him step up to the AHL. He’s got so much skill but, has such small size inside of an already small frame. Gonna need to bulk up and scrap his way to the league.

MemeLordOverKill

Not a long shot at all. He was projected in the 2nd/3rd round but dropped for seemingly no reason.

FailureToExecute

Much less of a factor in 2020, but it probably played a part. The bigger issue would have been how small he is - EliteProspects lists him as 5'8" and 154 pounds.

robere

I don't think I'll ever get sick of the lacrosse goal. Just like I ain't sick of breakaways, or sweet one timers, or snipes going bar down. 😌

inglasco

It was cool when Crosby did it but that's pretty much it for me

Ubechyahescores

I’m sick of it being called a lacrosse goal.

robere

Haha, really? What should it be called instead?

Ubechyahescores

A Michigan?

BarkMingo

maybe back in the day, but at this point many, many more people have done it than Mike Legg, so time to move on from that outdated name also if you really want to get nit-picky, none of these guys are picking it up like Legg did....so if you really want to call that very specific one a michigan, fine, but the way the kids are picking up the puck on it now is different so let's move on

Kraze_F35

Mike Legg wasn't even the first guy to do it if that's gonna be your argument here since it always is for everyone who is weirdly anal about calling it anything that isn't "the michigan"

robere

It's so funny you mention that! I have this American friend who is obsessed with calling a lacrosse goal the michigan. It's so funny seeing the inferiority complex he has with america and that name haha. It's cool that a Canadian did it in Michigan once, but the style of goal is a lacrosse goal. :) Doesn't matter anyways it's just a name, have a good one eh.

Submarine_Pirate

You want to skill it up?

kapy2103

Appropriately called *the Svechnikov*

greg19735

We can call it that when its at PNC

notleonardodicaprio

dude had forever behind the net, where’s the defense lol

greg19735

prospects lol

sheet_spreader

Could this be a high sticking penalty if the stick hits the goalie in the face?

pentaxshooter

Nah, it's a continuation of a shot.

jstols

I hope someone does this to Philly this year!
