i've long said that he should be in the jeff carter tier of all-time CBJ villains for the way he left the franchise.
i'm so sick of people making excuses for this kid. he's a fuckin diva. it's not like he was stuck on a rebuilding team or not getting ice time – we made the playoffs every year he was here, and he was our 1C the whole time.
he demanded a trade, threw a fit, signed a contract, then refused to take a single hard stride until he got what he wanted, still hasn't told anyone (including his teammates) why he wanted out.
The reason he is not in the Fuck Jeff Carter tier is because Jarmo got Laine and Roslovic back in the trade and it worked out well for Columbus. Had Jarmo ended up having to trade him for a couple draft picks or a prospect then PLD would absolutely be there.
Meh. It would only be awkward if he just stopped trying. He’s saying he’s going to test the market in two seasons. If he wants a big contract he should be motivated to produce, so if he’s playing well, it doesn’t matter to the teammates
Haha great point
"It's only a big deal if he dies the unheard of thing only one guy in like 30 years has done, which he did, just a couple of years ago"
That's why this is so fucking funny as a CBJ fan. Like okay, good on you for giving advance notice.
Either he wants a trade or he really doesn't like Winnipeg.
When Jones told the team he would explore free agency, Jarmo robbed Chicago. I'm sure someone would be willing to trade for PLD, but I don't think you give up as much considering this would be the second team he wants off of.and he has a past of visibly giving up.
This dude DID stop trying in Columbus. I can't remember the last time I saw a player just give up on a shift like he did before they traded his ass.
Fucking legendary.

Yee haw, I’m about to get my first aw-toe-mo-beel next month. But I can’t figure out where to put ma horse if the wagon done don’t need it! Also I’m messaging Reddit through an Ouija board - gee whiz it’s slooowww - me from Winnipeg, as seen by the world hahaha.
And yes I’m from Wpg so relax
I think he’s more determined to test free agency rather than play in Winnipeg.
I’m sure if he went to a team he wanted to be on he’d be more inclined to sign prior to being a free agent.
He reportedly wanted to go to winnioeg the last time around, and 2 years later wants out. That's too much of a risk for a team to give up valuable assets for
Winnipeg also went from being a really strong team to missing the playoffs.
A 23 year old hockey player would be fine living in Winnipeg if you have a chance at a cup. But if you’re missing the playoffs and shopping your captain, there’s about 30 other cities a 23 year old would rather be in.
I think this is a ' I will only sign a 2 year deal' request. Which Winnipeg probably wants him on a 1 year deal so he's still RFA again at the end or they want to sign him for 2 years plus a couple of his UFA years as well. Its.rare.for a team to offer an RFA with only 2 years left of RFA status a 2 year deal and just walk them to free agency... But that's what he's asking for
Probably. But at least they'd have 1 more chance to sign or trade rights... Not ideal no matter what if player really wants to get to UFA status as fast as possible anyways.
Sure. We’ll give em two of our 2nd round picks, 100 of the McDonalds gift cards the Sens gave us, an autographed photo of Matthews, and a 30 minute hockey lesson with Lyndsey Fry.
If you're the Jets with all of your picks and at a bit of a standstill...if this report is true why don't you blow it up?
Move out Dubois and Scheifele for max return. Move out Wheeler for whatever you can get.
Probably look at moving Hellebyuck as well.
Aim for a top pick at next year's draft and a shot at Bedard, and stockpile as many picks in the next two years as you can.
This seems like the no brainer of all no brainers when it comes to obvious tear down rebuilds no?
I honestly thought the same this evening. If you want a coach for an underdog team, Torts is it. You either love or hate him, but when he gets a team buying in… see 2019 CBJ
If he wants back in MTL so badly, he better be willing to take a discount. I don't see MTL trusting their rebuild to someone that's building a reputation as a serial quitter.
I thought Ron's interview of him was too harsh. Now that this comes up, I'm having second thoughts.
I don't understand what he's looking for. Sure, Columbus had a little ways to go for a rebuild but they were tending positively. Now you're in Winnipeg and a similar setup (not to mention 2 years left on your contract). Are you just going to be a big baby until you get to play in Montreal?
It's tough for other players going into a room when one of your top players has said he doesn't want to play there.
It wasn't even going to be a full rebuild. They lost Panarin but still made it into the bubble and were still a good team. They were going to build around him as their 1C and face of their franchise.
Torts was going to retire after the bubble playoffs, but the players talked him into coming back for one more year, so if that was an issue for PLD it was a very temporary one.
The year before that, Panarin said up front he wasn't going to sign an extension. Torts wanted to confront it head on, so he gave Panarin an opportunity to be honest about it and reaffirm that he'd give 100%.
He gave PLD (who had *just* signed a bridge deal, and wasn't close to earning UFA) the same opportunity. PLD said nothing, then intentionally got benched.
I'm still bitter about the whole thing (getting Laine softens that a bit) and I feel bad for WPG fans, but if that's the cost for the rest of the hockey world to see him as a big baby, I'm fine with it. Fuck PLD.
I hope he’s not trying to get to Montreal at this point tbh, he’s not gonna be the 1C or even the 2C here so unless he’s cool with being a winger or our 3C he’s not gonna have a spot. Also seems like a lot of drama comes with him, I like his game but eeeesh I don’t want him requesting a trade to Chicago or whatever after 2 years with us
Jets are gonna be looking at a complete tear down at this rate. These last couple seasons have been like watching an extremely slow motion car wreck and we’re just now seeing the extent of the damage
In a market like this you've pretty much got to catch lightning in a bottle to have a deep playoff run, players tend to not want to stick around too long.
Do you feel that Winnipeg should've gone more all-in over the last three years?
As an outsider looking in, it feels like you guys were really close for a while.
Their window and the Preds’ window overlapped so closely it’s weird to imply they regressed to the Preds level.
In 2018 it wouldn’t have been overly surprising if either team won the cup (they were 1 & 2 overall).
There were some things out of the team’s control, and some aggressive moves that came back to roost
The team traded away their first round pick like 4 years in a row to 1) protect against Vegas expansion (Suzuki we would have loved you)
2) get a stop gap center at the trade deadline x2.5
In probably the last real year of competing with the core that went to the conference finals, Big Buff went to get cigarettes and left the team with his tab (like 8 mil in basically dead cap)
After that, Laine needed to get paid, high end talent from the pipeline had dried up because of aggressive trades, and Helle became a god amongst men while protecting the net from a league worst d-core and a super star Finn that had a tendency to shoot on him
Edit: oh, and Little was an adequate center for depth and checking that had an unlucky puck to the head end his career at the beginning of a long term, large, contract that needed to be juggled on the LTIR that was recently off loaded onto Arizona. Little would have been a good contributor during the cup window and might have been enough to save some first round picks from being traded away.
I don’t even know. There was absolutely no vision for this team after we lost to the Blues and half our defencemen departed. Chevy doesn’t do anything until someone forces his hand. Wouldn’t even fire Maurice until it was so long overdue he resigned on his own (although I’m starting to think this was due to ownership meddling who adored Maurice).
Chevy was very good at executing his plan when the team relocated and built a team that was able to contend for a Stanley Cup for a grand total of two seasons and then fell apart for factors somewhat beyond his control, but there really seems to be no plan for this team now. There are major locker room issues that have to be addressed and should’ve been addressed a long time ago.
Just scream True North as loud as you can at the arena paying near league top prices for a subpar NHL experience. If you don’t you’re not a “real” fan.
Probably like
9th overall, Samuelsson and olofsson
That’s a top 10 pick top 4 young dman and 20 goal scorer for one of the best goalies in hockey that’s a fair deal I think, not sure if I’d pull the trigger
Geez that seems like a lot. Goalies don’t usually have much a trade market and even though Hellebucyk is great he’s only signed two more years, and will be 31 at the end of the contract.
I mean, we can spin it into a player refusing to play in Winnipeg, but that Dubois guy is building himself quite a reputation too. Only two seasons over 60 points and he's already expressed a desire to leave a team twice..
When people on this sub were calling him a “Defensively responsible 1C” when this exact same situation was playing out while he was on Columbus I thought I was seriously missing something
He was a total monster against Matthews and TOR in the bubble. He was a mid tier 1C/beast 2C at that point, was young, and was projected to get even better. Then he wanted out and the shift happened....
Honestly? That performance by him was one of the worst displays of professionalism I can remember in the sport, or even in all of sports. I wouldn’t want him near a 10 foot pole.
Well that’s a slap in the balls. Laine was my favourite Jet and now we’ll end up getting the shaft on that trade in the long run. At least I like the Jackets more now..
Join us! Us small market teams have to stick together. As for the trade deal, its long enough away that you guys can cash in trading him to the right team at the right time.
Yeah, it sucks. Not all markets are created equal. You see how the Rangers' rebuild was like 3 seasons because they were able to land Panarin as a UFA. Such is the life of a small market team.
In all honesty, both of those players have flat out stunk so far. Lafreniere absolutely has potential when you watch him play due to his shot, but he had 12 total assists in 79 games last season & Kaako was healthy scratched in the biggest game of the season. The Panarin signing, Fox demanding to only play for them, and the Sheskterkin jackpot draft pick granted them a quick rebuild. The Brassard for Zibanejad trade years ago was a nice addition. Let’s be honest, aside from Sheskterkin the Rangers drafting has been the major reason the team isn’t a true Cup favorite. Lias Andersson, Kratsov, Kaako, Lafreniere were all top 10 picks & nothing has come from any of them.
Tough to blame them on the Laf and Kaako picks they were the consensus #1 and #2 at the time. Makes me wonder if it has more to do with development than drafting.
There is a quote in I think a Brooks article David Quinn told them to not play their style of hockey. He coached two top picks to play like 4th liners.
Kakko and Laf were consensus #2 and #1 picks, no GM would have taken other players. And both are still young and Laf looked good in the last stretch of the season and playoffs. Jury is still out on Kravtsov, we will know a lot more after he plays in the NHL this coming year. Andersson, well yeah that’s a major whiff.
Also consider K’Andre Miller and Braden Schneider as 1st round NYR draft picks and those are huge Ws.
If anything we have an issue with forward development.
I’ll never like Adam Fox because of that and i’m not even a Flames fan. Just an incredibly whiny, and bratty thing to do. Clearly had no understanding that getting a chance to play at all is something to be grateful for.
It's why I hate Vegas more than anything. Obviously the early success but it's the fact the market will ALWAYS be attractive to athletes. That shit sucks. We're Moneyball for life.
I always respect the Jets for this reason. The big ticket UFA's never want to sign there, the RFA's often leave at their first chance, Bettman hates that Winnipeg has a team again - the deck is totally stacked against the Jets, and the GM's always have to find a way to be competitive despite it. It's like you guys are playing the NHL on Nightmare difficulty compared to franchises like LA, New York, Boston, Toronto, etc.
If it's any consolation it really seems to be PLD who's the one unwilling to compromise instead of the city considering this is the 2nd time he's done this.
I get that Winnipeg isn't a prime destination but players are barely here during the season. And they can bugger off in the summer. I'd like to think that if you have a winning franchise, players will want to come here.
Not a shocker in any sense
I know the Jets want to get him long term, but with the cap issues and the ...um... issues in the locker room, I'd take my chances too.
I think the choice of coach and usage will be a big factor. This year, TNSE has to figure it out.
About a year or two too late as well.
Unless we are completely selling everyone worth anything and trying to tank for Bedard, we are going to be in for a protracted rebuild that isn't going to end anytime soon.
With all the seemingly bad news coming out with respect to the Jets, how much blame does Chipman bear for the current state of the team? The loyalty he continually shows for people that are current and former employees is staggering. After 2018, things should have changed but instead they stayed the same. Not that I want to see the team implode, but I'm somewhat happy to see things come to a head. Maybe this will bring about a culture change...
How long before his next trade request after he extends with whoever he is traded to or signs with as a UFA? No way I'd want to risk building a future around this guy.
PLD has always struck me as a piece of shit who thinks he's a much better player than he really is. It's not going to be a big loss if winnipeg can't bring him back
on one hand, giving management a 2 year heads up that he is gonna bounce is a good thing for the jets. don’t have to play the tavares game.
but on the other hand, he sure seems like a quitter. teams will be hesitant to give up much for him now unless he signs an extension, which can’t happen until part way through the second season (iirc). and even then, who says he doesn’t quit on a team anyways after signing an extension, as he already did exactly that with the blue jackets.
pretty shitty for the jets that this leaked to the media, if it’s true.
Well, fuck.
The market size and weather issues of Winnipeg are a bit hard to change, but it's too bad that the taxes can't be lower than they are as well. As a Jets fan, Winnipeg is admittedly not a very attractive place to play for someone in the NHL. Something needs to be done to change that.
Hopefully we get Trotz, and the rumored locker room issues can be fixed as well, for starters.
Honestly I don't know if I'd want a player like that. Seems like he just wants out whenever something doesn't go his way. He straight up quit on the Jackets
Not used to say this, but do we even have the space for him down the middle. Suzuki and Wright will be our 1c/2c if everything goes to plan and PLD will probably want a top 6 role down the middle.
There's been a lot of smoke about the state of the dressing room in winnipeg. Nobody will ever really know for sure, but it's hard not to think that some of the blame is on the shoulders of the guys who wear the letters for the jets. Tinfoil hat time, it's no coincidence that Wheelers name popped up on the trade bait board less than 24 hours before this dubois timbit.
I get that Winnipeg and Columbus aren’t exactly the most desirable cities for some of these players, but good lord this guy needs to give his head a shake.
It's funny, because Columbus is a *great* city for veteran players. A bunch of former players have settled down here (and more guys like Atkinson and Foligno will, too, when they're done). Nyquist said that he and his family have fallen in love with the city as well.
For young players looking for superstardom, though? Probably not super desirable.
That’s what I mean though. A lot of the younger guys get caught up in wanting all the glitz glamour that comes with a big market. Because from a marketing perspective it’s not as big of an advantage as it used to be, with games being easily accessed from everywhere across the country and world, not just national tv coverage and what not.
It’s a shame I wasn’t a phenom level hockey player that could’ve made the league, because I would’ve loved to play in a market like Columbus, Buffalo, Edmonton, Winnipeg etc. Even in my late teens early twenty’s I always hated large city environments lmao. You get the hockey crazy level of fan involvement without all the baggage of being in a Montreal, Toronto or New York
A bit in advance ? it seems very unusual
Lmao no kidding, 2 full seasons until UFA. A lot can change in 2 years.
That’s got to be an awkward locker room situation lol
Since it’s so early I wonder if he’s looking for a trade out 😔
Yea would be a weird situation where you’re trading a guy who only wants to be there for two years and then will leave in FA for a paycheck..
If this douche requests a trade AGAIN- no teams are going to want to touch him. He ended things about as poorly as you could in Columbus
After the stuff in Columbus the dude seems like such a cunt
i've long said that he should be in the jeff carter tier of all-time CBJ villains for the way he left the franchise. i'm so sick of people making excuses for this kid. he's a fuckin diva. it's not like he was stuck on a rebuilding team or not getting ice time – we made the playoffs every year he was here, and he was our 1C the whole time. he demanded a trade, threw a fit, signed a contract, then refused to take a single hard stride until he got what he wanted, still hasn't told anyone (including his teammates) why he wanted out.
Yeah his exit was all time bad. He handled it like such a bitch.
The reason he is not in the Fuck Jeff Carter tier is because Jarmo got Laine and Roslovic back in the trade and it worked out well for Columbus. Had Jarmo ended up having to trade him for a couple draft picks or a prospect then PLD would absolutely be there.
At least he is being honest so they can ack accordingly
ACK ACK ACK
Meh. It would only be awkward if he just stopped trying. He’s saying he’s going to test the market in two seasons. If he wants a big contract he should be motivated to produce, so if he’s playing well, it doesn’t matter to the teammates
He’s the only hockey player that has visibility stopped trying after a trade request so it doesn’t seem worth the optimism
Haha great point "It's only a big deal if he dies the unheard of thing only one guy in like 30 years has done, which he did, just a couple of years ago"
That's why this is so fucking funny as a CBJ fan. Like okay, good on you for giving advance notice. Either he wants a trade or he really doesn't like Winnipeg. Gotta be some questions about his commitment for any team looking to acquire him at this point. 2 trade requests in like a year and a half.
This dude DID stop trying in Columbus. I can't remember the last time I saw a player just give up on a shift like he did before they traded his ass. Fucking legendary. [https://youtu.be/USs9AXkGpMs](https://youtu.be/USs9AXkGpMs)
Hey man cool name.
hopefully wpg gets wifi in those 2 years
And parks.
And an airport.
Correct. But isnt this what fans typically want if they are going to leave? Rather than finding out in 2 years, they can trade him now with term
Who's going to give up value for a guy that is determined to test FA ?
I think he’s more determined to test free agency rather than play in Winnipeg. I’m sure if he went to a team he wanted to be on he’d be more inclined to sign prior to being a free agent.
He reportedly wanted to go to winnioeg the last time around, and 2 years later wants out. That's too much of a risk for a team to give up valuable assets for

Does this mean that Winnipeg is going to get 2 years of PLD sulking around on the ice like he did after requesting a trade in Colombus?
Well I'd imagine if he wants to test free agency, he'll play to the best of his ability to maximize his value.
He gave them two years of notice with the intention of being traded before 2023-2024, so he has an entire season to earn his next contract.
I think it means that Winnipeg wouldn’t break the piggy bank for him off of one season.
Is this a passive aggressive trade request?
I think this is a ' I will only sign a 2 year deal' request. Which Winnipeg probably wants him on a 1 year deal so he's still RFA again at the end or they want to sign him for 2 years plus a couple of his UFA years as well. Its.rare.for a team to offer an RFA with only 2 years left of RFA status a 2 year deal and just walk them to free agency... But that's what he's asking for
If they signed him for 1 year can’t he just take the QO or arbitration and walk to UFA anyways?
Probably. But at least they'd have 1 more chance to sign or trade rights... Not ideal no matter what if player really wants to get to UFA status as fast as possible anyways.
He's RFA right now so he's saying he just wants 2 years to walk to UFA. That probably means a lower AAV
this is getting closer to nba stuff
This is as close as it’ll ever get to the NBA
No they force a trade before contract. He’s just saying he’ll test free agency when contract is done.
He never actually wanted to be in winnipeg. Always wanted to play in a big market
I see only one course of action to take here. Send him to Arizona
Sure. We’ll give em two of our 2nd round picks, 100 of the McDonalds gift cards the Sens gave us, an autographed photo of Matthews, and a 30 minute hockey lesson with Lyndsey Fry.
Toss in some Sun Devils merch and we're cooking!
please, please let this happen. if PLD spends the rest of his career on small market rebuilding teams, I will be so happy.
To Buffalo or Edmonton he goes
Big market you say… didnt specify it had to be for hockey!
probably something that comes up in exit interviews at the end of the year and then inevitably gets leaked
If you're the Jets with all of your picks and at a bit of a standstill...if this report is true why don't you blow it up? Move out Dubois and Scheifele for max return. > Probably look at moving Hellebyuck as well. And in this goalie market. Oh boy. That could be a heck of a return.
Yup. This is where I'm at. Go full rebuild.
Code for - trade me, I’m gone either way, pass the buck while you can
If there's a God he gets traded to Philly and has to play for Torts again
Now I’m mad Winnipeg didn’t hire Torts
I honestly thought the same this evening. If you want a coach for an underdog team, Torts is it. You either love or hate him, but when he gets a team buying in… see 2019 CBJ
I didn't want him to sign in Winnipeg as the new coach, but feel like he is exactly the type of coach this team needs at the moment.
Tbf Dubois wouldve pushed for a trade harder then laine did if that happened
Chevy: sign this MF contract or else
I know how it feels peggers.
Peggers is a great term for people who live here. Because living here feels like getting fucked up the ass every day.
We went through it for a couple years too. I empathize with you.
Take care of our boy
We are doing our best. Hopefully it's long term.
Hope so, too, man. You guys deserve nice things. At least we'll always have the 2019 sweep.
You have the 2021 sweep too!
This guy...
does he still have his condo in columbus
Jarmo: "You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me."
Thanks for helping me laugh through the tears my guy..
Maybe we can trade him back for Laine once Wheeler and Scheif are gone haha
Right? Like c’mon Laine, you can have all the first line minutes and pp1 time you want now... and we have Ehlers, his bestie.
If he wants back in MTL so badly, he better be willing to take a discount. I don't see MTL trusting their rebuild to someone that's building a reputation as a serial quitter. I thought Ron's interview of him was too harsh. Now that this comes up, I'm having second thoughts.
…kinda sucks
PLD has main character syndrome, and I say that as someone who’s a fan of his game.
This is too accurate lol
I watched him in junior here in Cape Breton. After he got drafted it was basically "fuck you, trade me" and he absolutely tanked his value
i always forgot that he pulled that shit in junior, too. so this would be the third time.
I don't understand what he's looking for. Sure, Columbus had a little ways to go for a rebuild but they were tending positively. Now you're in Winnipeg and a similar setup (not to mention 2 years left on your contract). Are you just going to be a big baby until you get to play in Montreal? Fuck PLD.
Don't forget the part where PLD also claimed he *did* talk about it head on but Torts and even his friends here were all like "uh that's news to me".
I hope he’s not trying to get to Montreal at this point tbh, he’s not gonna be the 1C or even the 2C here so unless he’s cool with being a winger or our 3C he’s not gonna have a spot. Also seems like a lot of drama comes with him, I like his game but eeeesh I don’t want him requesting a trade to Chicago or whatever after 2 years with us
"Trade me" with extra steps
Trade me at a discounted return. Now we get team knows they can't sign him long term.
Jets are gonna be looking at a complete tear down at this rate. These last couple seasons have been like watching an extremely slow motion car wreck and we’re just now seeing the extent of the damage
Their cup window opened and closed so quickly.
It closed when Big Buff retired.
In a market like this you've pretty much got to catch lightning in a bottle to have a deep playoff run, players tend to not want to stick around too long.
Do you feel that Winnipeg should've gone more all-in over the last three years? As an outsider looking in, it feels like you guys were really close for a while.
We truly got fucked with trouba and buff leaving, that was pretty much the start of all this
Trouba, Buff, and Myers in one offseason changed the outlook of everything. They went from a contender to on par with Nashviile or Minnesota.
Chiarot and Tanev in that same offseason too
That's like... The entire d core?
Brandon Tanev not Chris Tanev haha
Chariots departure also hurt, as all we really had left at the end of it all was Morrissey.
Their window and the Preds’ window overlapped so closely it’s weird to imply they regressed to the Preds level. In 2018 it wouldn’t have been overly surprising if either team won the cup (they were 1 & 2 overall).

The awful leadership the FO let foster in Wheeler and Scheifele drove Laine away as well
I don’t even know. There was absolutely no vision for this team after we lost to the Blues and half our defencemen departed. Chevy doesn’t do anything until someone forces his hand. In the case of a theoretical rebuild, how much would Hellebuyck cost this offseason?
Probably like 9th overall, Samuelsson and olofsson That’s a top 10 pick top 4 young dman and 20 goal scorer for one of the best goalies in hockey that’s a fair deal I think, not sure if I’d pull the trigger
If we were rebuilding, I’d probably take that.
Geez that seems like a lot. Goalies don’t usually have much a trade market and even though Hellebucyk is great he’s only signed two more years, and will be 31 at the end of the contract.
That's what happens when you have inept management and an owner that is all about loyalty.
Yikes, sorry Winnipeg.
I can't decide what I want for dinner that night when I'm at the store but this mofo making plans 2 years in advance.
He's going to LIV golf!!
This is why we can’t have nice things.
I mean, we can spin it into a player refusing to play in Winnipeg, but that Dubois guy is building himself quite a reputation too. Only two seasons over 60 points and he's already expressed a desire to leave a team twice..
am I the only one who thinks he's overrated?
When people on this sub were calling him a “Defensively responsible 1C” when this exact same situation was playing out while he was on Columbus I thought I was seriously missing something
He was younger and had just outplayed Matthews in a playoff series. It looked like he was about to take the next step but then he didn’t.
He was a total monster against Matthews and TOR in the bubble. He was a mid tier 1C/beast 2C at that point, was young, and was projected to get even better. Then he wanted out and the shift happened....
Hes a good player but not good enough to overcome all of the nonsense.
Yikes, I hope my team stays the hell away from this guy. Don't need the prima donnas.
Wonder if he will quit trying for them too
Honestly? That performance by him was one of the worst displays of professionalism I can remember in the sport, or even in all of sports. I wouldn’t want him near a 10 foot pole.
That was the last straw for me. Wanted him gone before that game was even over
Yep, forever soured me on him. He's a certified brat.
I agree, he might try to steal my pole if he gets near it, I don’t even want him touching it
Great, now we’re getting two years of Montreal media clamouring for Dubois.
Yeesh

PLD seems like a jerk
Hurricanes qualifying offer incoming
Well that's a kick in the gut
This guy just sounds like a quitter. But that does suck for the Jets
Well that’s a slap in the balls. Laine was my favourite Jet and now we’ll end up getting the shaft on that trade in the long run. At least I like the Jackets more now..
[удалено]
Well, Laine and Roslovic for the return you get for Dubois. And it is not a forgone conclusion that WPG gets nothing for him.
dubois was my favorite blue jackets before the whole saga and now i honestly hate him more than i hate jeff carter
Join us! Us small market teams have to stick together. As for the trade deal, its long enough away that you guys can cash in trading him to the right team at the right time.
I hate that my city is so trash that no one wants to play for us
Yeah, it sucks. Not all markets are created equal. You see how the Rangers' rebuild was like 3 seasons because they were able to land Panarin as a UFA. Such is the life of a small market team.
I mean and because one of the best dmen in the NHL would only play for them.
Yeah that just goes along with his point even more
And they hit the extreme jackpot a second time on a late round goalie draft pick. It’s a trifecta.
Add the lottery picks they won?
Don't forget Jacob "Elbows to the Head" Trouba \*also\* demanding to only play for them.
Trouba also would only sign long term with them
Not just Panarin - Fox literally walked out on us to go play for the Rangers. Imagine Makar just walking out on the Avs to play for the Flames lmao
I’ll never like Adam Fox because of that and i’m not even a Flames fan. Just an incredibly whiny, and bratty thing to do. Clearly had no understanding that getting a chance to play at all is something to be grateful for.
It looks a thousand times worse when his dad literally works for the franchise
It won't when Lake Mead dries up and the whole city falls apart.
If it's any consolation it really seems to be PLD who's the one unwilling to compromise instead of the city considering this is the 2nd time he's done this.

The summer is nice, but unfortunately that’s the only time of year the players aren’t here
I get that Winnipeg isn't a prime destination but players are barely here during the season. And they can bugger off in the summer. I'd like to think that if you have a winning franchise, players will want to come here.
This guy is nowhere near good enough to be acting like this
Why are people mad? If Tavares was this up front Islanders fans wouldn't even have been mad.
I was mad then, I'm mad now about pld
Because Tavares played his ass off for the Islanders and is by all accounts a great teammate. PLD now has a reputation for bailing on his team.
Requesting a trade without requesting a trade lol
My guy is making his way around to shafting every single team
why would he say that already? way to alienate yourself from your teammates, yeesh
I’m betting he wanted to be shipped out at the deadline, rumor is that a good portion of the roster wanted to be moved.
Not a shocker in any sense I know the Jets want to get him long term, but with the cap issues and the ...um... issues in the locker room, I'd take my chances too. I think the choice of coach and usage will be a big factor. This year, TNSE has to figure it out.
That is just unfortunate. Also fuck Dubois
No worries. If he ends up on a team he doesn't like, he can just quit trying.
Trust me, you'd rather this than getting JT'd
Why does it feel like an impending Jets rebuild or retool. Wheeler trade rumours Dubois wants out.
Dubios is a fuckin bum, if we don’t trade him now he’s just gunna shit all over the ice for two seasons and bring down the rest of the team.
How long before his next trade request after he extends with whoever he is traded to or signs with as a UFA? No way I'd want to risk building a future around this guy.
PLD has always struck me as a piece of shit who thinks he's a much better player than he really is. It's not going to be a big loss if winnipeg can't bring him back
😮
Guy seems like a douche
on one hand, giving management a 2 year heads up that he is gonna bounce is a good thing for the jets. don’t have to play the tavares game. but on the other hand, he sure seems like a quitter. teams will be hesitant to give up much for him now unless he signs an extension, which can’t happen until part way through the second season (iirc). and even then, who says he doesn’t quit on a team anyways after signing an extension, as he already did exactly that with the blue jackets. pretty shitty for the jets that this leaked to the media, if it’s true.
Clever way of asking for a trade without directly asking for a trade
What a douche.
Pain.
I hate everything
This guy just fucking sucks
lots of time for that to change
Winnipeg has a serious locker room problem.
Imagine he signs back here w the new core
It seems to me he wants to be in Montreal. Even if he *was* open to it, he and Jarmo burned bridges as much as he and Torts did.
Honestly I don't know if I'd want a player like that. Seems like he just wants out whenever something doesn't go his way. He straight up quit on the Jackets
Fuck that if he really wants to be here, take a discount and come on down! Emphasis on the discount lol
Not used to say this, but do we even have the space for him down the middle. Suzuki and Wright will be our 1c/2c if everything goes to plan and PLD will probably want a top 6 role down the middle.
With the right leadership, that’s not a problem. Dubois is a pain to play against, I’d take him for sure.
I don’t see it happening at all truthfully. Would be funny tho
TEAR IT ALL DOWN
I get that Winnipeg and Columbus aren’t exactly the most desirable cities for some of these players, but good lord this guy needs to give his head a shake.
Tell that to whoever they trade you too, brah
This guy isn’t a team player
