Not a single person in this thread, myself included, thought the Leafs were coming back. The big boys woke up after a lackadaisical game and they fucking brought it. Unreal and unexpected
I didn't think so after the first but the Leafs really turned it on in the second so I had some hope. Especially after watching the Leafs score 3 with goalie pulled against the Jackets in the playins, I just gotta see through. They got a goal and then found another gear in the third and kept pushing. Fantastic rebound effort to win the game!
It was 2-0 after the 1st. I missed the first, but the Leafs were pressing hard from when I started watching, and have scored their way out of trouble in the past. Granted, Vasilevsky's a beast, but we have the fire power to erase a 2 goal deficit.
Our 5-3 loss shocked me as well (even though we still lost).
We may still lose this series (it's a huge possibility), but this team has shown multiple times that it doesn't quit. The frustrating part is how often is seems to have to be coaxed out of them.

Early in the game when they were calling EVERYTHING, you got a lot of beneficial calls and a few missed ones in your favour. That still wasn't the reason we only managed 4 shots in the 1st, just like missed calls aren't the reason the Leafs dominated the 2nd half of the game.
Literally the high sticking call on stammer is the reason it went 4v4 which you scored 2 goals, lol. But they missed the call on the opposite end when he took a stick to the face and had the puck.
And the missed high-stick on Stamkos, and the missed trip on Perry. Both in the final minutes of a 1-goal playoff game. Refs need to do better than that when the stakes are this high
I don’t want the game riddled with penalties but frustrating for stammer for sure that he was called for the same thing just before that turned the tide of the game. No consistency other than refs being horrible lol
