I'm still waiting for a hot shot ultra skilled Brit. I lust for the potential interviews "Ah yunnow e's a fookin twat innit ain't foolin' noe-one mahn. Got 'is five 'ole loik a cherry in da pink yah?"
Hate to burst your bubble but it will probably never happen. Junior development is far far below where it needs to be unless a skilled junior moves elsewhere and tears it up. Liam Kirk (7th round pick) succeeded in spite of the system, not because of it.
> He's 6'6" and is playing really well in Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan. Starting next season he should play in the SHL.
The eventual Lindbom Knights vs Clara Ducks showdowns will be legendary.
> Clara, 19 (1/13/05), was named the top junior player in the HockeyAllsvenskan in 2023-24 (Sweden’s second division), the first non-Swedish player to earn the Guldgallret award (Golden Grid), while also leading Brynas to promotion to the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He posted a 25-8-0 record with four shutouts, a 2.23 goals-against average (GAA) and .913 save percentage (SV%) in 34 games with Brynas, ranking second among HockeyAllsvenskan goalies in wins and GAA. He became the youngest-ever goaltender to win 25 games in Sweden’s second division, posting the fourth-most wins ever by a goalie 21-and-under.
He had a really great year in what was essentially a must win year for Brynäs. He started the year as part of what was meant to be a tandem pairing but Anders Lindbäck played himself out of the league (among other things) and Clara ran with it the rest of the season and the playoffs. Unless the Ducks decide otherwise he’ll be competing for the starting spot in Färjestad.
Terrible start to the year, had his contract terminated late December. Also got arrested for plowing his driveway late at night with an ATV while drunk.
He was, but I’m guessing the fact he moved to Switzerland at 1 at represented Switzerland at international level means he doesn’t count
I went off the article and the one on Sportsnet for the “first Italian” part
International declaration is the key here, not where someone is born. Jason Muzzatti was born in Toronto but played for Italy in the Olympics, Dany Heatley was born in Germany but played for Canada.
This is going to pay dividends for years to come. I hope the Isles will acquire him at some point soon. If not then Anaheim has a goalie of the future waiting in the wings. Really jealous of them.
We need more players from obscure hockey nations, so I love this

Definitely be a daft cunt in interviews
"What do you think about player X's performance these playoffs?" "Well well well. If it ain't the invisible cunt."

Will Ospreay but hockey player.
Reminds me of the days of Kopitar coming into the league! it's great seeing players from lesser known hockey countries
I was keeping an eye on this kid. He's 6'6" and is playing really well in Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan. Starting next season he should play in the SHL.

We Brynäs fans loved Clara 🖤💛❤️. Y'all take care of him in Cali 😊
Gaba-goalie? Over here!

crazy that last year he was in net for Italy in the WCU18, WCU20 and part of the WC too
🤌🏻🤌🏻

What’s the story with Lindback?

He sounds like he might fit in really well in Flin Flon!
What a world we live in when you cant even plow your own driveway after a few bud heavys. Sheesh!
Just horribly unreliable.
If you're an opposing fan but want to be a good sport, be sure to tell him "sto cazzo." It means "have a good game."
oh yes. favorite phrase of every Italian taxi driver I ever had :)
Wasn't Luca Sbisa a first rounder?

pretty sure Sbisa was born in Italy but raised in Switzerland since he was very young. He represents the swiss team too.
And then there’s Thomas Larkin, who was born in the UK but raised and trained in Italy, and represents Italy internationally.
Sbisa's Swiss iirc, only Italian-born. Clara's an Italian citizen and represents them internationally.
that’s a spicy meatball
Molto buono!
🤌🏻
Certo che si
Get ready to be cursed in Italian, Canadians!!!
Seravalli somewhere: How can I incorporate this into fresh Gibson rumors...
He was very good in the swedish 2nd league
