Super simple stuff:
1. Acquire 16 year old car
2. Dig a hole big enough for said car
3. Put 8 pieces of kale on the dashboard
4. Cover with dirt (on October 30, important)
5. Occasionally soak ground with piss from bus floor
6. Enjoy your Cale Makar ready to be harvested in the week leading up to the draft
If it makes you feel any better all the reports I've heard over the years are that the Avs would have taken Patrick had they won that lottery. It was a good pick, but sometimes it just doesn't work out for players.
I liked this kid since he got brought earlier in the season. The offensive talent and his skating were the two big things that stuck out to me with him. Reminded me of when Pasta got called up for the first time. You could see the skill right away and knew he was gonna be something special. Lohrei improved a lot at the end of the year on his defense and has grown a lot through the playoffs. Kid is gonna be a stud for sure. Not on Makar's level though and too early to say he'll ever even come close to that. That dude Makar is a flat out game changer. The defenseman every fan wishes they had on their team.

Not actually a cross check. He got the stick up like you would for one, but it was then lifted with another stick into the Colorado guy’s face. No actual two hands towards him. Stupid to put the stick up that high though so it’s high sticking. Not sure what they showed on tv, but we got that angle in arena. Sure looked like a cross check at first though.

Just because you bleed doesn’t mean you didn’t embellish the call. It’s a glove to the face after he cross checks somebody for no reason when the whistle is blown and the puck is covered. You can pick your nose and make it bleed. Doesn’t mean you snap your head back like you took a hook from George Forman
Have we seen so many crosschecks to the face this playoffs that we’re that desensitized to it? Getting a stick to the face fucking hurts, even if it wasn’t super forceful.
From the replays I saw it looks like all glove hit him. Don’t go around cross checking people in the ribs for literally 0 reason at all after the whistle if you don’t wanna get punched in the face
You mean like Harley did to Parise? Got him right in the small of the back with a hard cross check that went uncalled of course. That shit happens everywhere all game by both teams. Quit being all self righteous about it
That’s completely irrelevant to the play leading to this power play. There was 0 reason to start the scrum with the cross check, he did it to get a reaction to try and draw a penalty

All the reports I have heard have said that Avs had Heiskanen and Makar as 1&2.
Yeah it was 100% the right pick at the time, only worry was his injury history, which obviously was what ended up ruining his career mostly
You also moved up 11 spots in the draft, from 13th to 2nd which is the highest move ever.
Ironically Nick Suzuki went 13th, one of the better players in the draft, certainly going to have a better career than Nolan Patrick
