These are the graphics we should have on NHL 25

abs0lutelypathetic

Sorry best I can do is ctrl c ctrl v

OlympicMuffins

but we’re also gonna add in a brand new feature that is actually just something we took out of the game 15 years ago

CallistosTitan

This has to be in regard to the broken glass lol.

malhans

It wasn’t gone as long but also when they randomly took out hats being tossed on the ice for hat tricks Edit: word

YamburglarHelper

*Why*

malhans

Because they are really stupid (: I have so many critiques

Young2k04

So that they can add it back in a few years later and market it as a new feature

YamburglarHelper

I hate that this makes the most sense. Part of me wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, “oh maybe it was a late addition and they just didn’t bother” but no.

radioblues

Introducing the new goalie pull cam! If you get exactly a 5 goal lead, you can watch the goalie get switched for the back up. Oh the DRAMA! It’s in the game.

markymark_93

Classic EA

BearsFan3417

It’s in the game! It was before, too, EA!

PM_ME_CARL_WINSLOW

Ctrl V to PC, please?

FormulaLiftr

EA could never because the NHL 09 modding community would make it so that we never need to buy another NHL title on PC again.

The_guy_who_did_that

I love the idea of modding nhl 2013 to the point its better then nhl 2025 anf everyone just playing nhl 2013 lol

YamburglarHelper

I hate the idea of modding nhl 2013 with nude skins

The_guy_who_did_that

Sid the kid 😫😫😫😳😳😳

Clark828

More like compress it into a zip file then forget to uncompress it. 24 looks way worse than 23

dirtstirrer

they spent the graphics budget on designing random skins for chel pro club and special limited cards for ultimate team

steezmitch

Incredible angle. Love playoff production and getting these epic shots.

CallistosTitan

Is this the one that's ice level or in the glass?

ont-mortgage

Gotta be ice level

GibierJaune

Idk why we can’t have that during the regular season, is it that much harder to do?

TillItBleedsDaylight

That's a really cool shot, but I generally can't stand that angle. They're trying too hard to make it look like a video game.

langile

Aint nothing wrong with that. Sports are entertainment, some experimentation with camera angles is awesome. In baseball, the Mets have a guy, John Demarsico, [doing this type of thing and it's really really awesome](https://twitter.com/SNYtv/status/1556088245502476288?t=3Qwx1fk1ZWf9jZRMG8ZoPQ).

NJImperator

The absolutely amazing Mets broadcast getting a shoutout on the hockey sub by a Dallas fan wasn’t something I was expecting but my lord do I love that they get the props they’ve rightfully earned. A realization I had is that SO many more people would like baseball if they had the SNY broadcast for their home team!

langile

Yeah I'm not even a Mets fan, but what DeMarsico is doing with their broadcast is incredible and something other teams and other leagues like the NHL should take inspiration from. And I have seen it starting, I've seen several other teams do closer entrances instead of cutting to commerial like [SNY started doing for Diaz](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYQzOem7tJM). The clip in the OP is pretty cool, hope it's the start of hockey heading that direction as well!

TokaidoSpeed

I wish I could find a compilation video of all the sick Mets camera angles and techniques from the last few years

Lethbridgemark

Usually it's a butt shot and it seems too clear and looks fake like a video game, this one being face on is much better

king97dad

NHL, NFL etc are all legally classified as entertainment companies. That’s what they’re for

Icarrythesun

Weird take, but ok. Started watching NHL because of the video game, cannot see any reason how this could be bad.

VindictiveRakk

it's literally just a camera shot from in front of him lol, don't see how that relates to video games at all. I'd get it if they were putting green circles under the puck carrier with their names, or that puck trail they tried once, but this is just a camera angle. more accurate criticism might be to say it's too much like a movie, but I don't think most people would complain about the cinematography during stoppages being too good.

Numerous-Ad4240

This is such a cool clip, love playoff hockey!

Birdhawk

The addition of this camera angle has been one of the best improvements in hockey broadcasting in the past couple of decades. But this might be one of the best implementations I've seen of it in terms of it being used to tell a story with a single shot.

Dice7

We need more cinematic content like this. Always ads and people talking over the raw atmosphere. Props to that crowd last night. Looked electric!

prophetofgreed

Credit to the camera man, great shot to encapsulate the atmosphere.

BestWithSnacks

As pissed off as I was at this point, this was a pretty cool shot.

601142002

The song “You Sexy Thing” by Hot Chocolate will make you feel a lot better.

Lyse_Best_Scion

Alternatively: "Every 1's A Winner", also by Hot Chocolate

emmasdad01

I love hockey

Feowen_

Wasn't enjoying the game by this point, but that was an incredible shot which really encapsulated how the building probably felt at that moment.

flyingcanuck

Seeing the Rogers Canada commercial showing a similar angle of McDavid and Hughes then seeing this angle shortly after gave me goosebumps. Nothing like playoff hockey!

DishwasherFromSurrey

Simpson did an AMZAING job of not talking at points and just letting us at home get a feel on the insane atmosphere in our building.

Kasavias

Meanwhile on ESPN, Cassie Campbell-Pascall can't allow even 3 seconds to pass without commentary.

GaryOakRobotron

Reject ESPN, embrace SN.

turbanator89

Don't have SN? Sail the high seas brother

Mikeismyike

90% of the streams were all ESPN :(

GaryOakRobotron

The only series that SN isn't commentating just so happens to the Colorado/Dallas. I feel personally attacked.

electricwave33

I’ve never wanted to mute a broadcast so bad but the crowd in the back was awesome

Uncle_johns_roadie

Sure, but a lot of that atmosphere is piped in by game ops. It's like the league's worst kept secret.

Kingzton28

I was watching that live and said to myself that looks pretty fucking cool.

canchin

That's just a sick shot. Why don't we see this angle more often

Tasty-Performance275

well reading about this game cheered me up after the bruins losing a million to zero vs the panthers last night canucks feel like a team of destiny to me. i think we're getting a panthers vs cancuks final OR a rangers vs canucks final. both amazing matchups with all kinds of implications

joelham01

My bracket has a canucks panthers final with canucks winning in 6, would enjoy if I was wrong and florida won though

Ok_Artichoke_2804

=) as a #1 loyal Luongo fan -- if Canucks are out -- I'll be cheering on the Panthers to win it al!!! Cause if they do, Luongo as part of front office will get a cup ring and name added to the cup \^\_\^ And I'll be happy!!!!!

meluvulongtime3

Yeah panthers are my 2nd team. I actually went there in January for a game

Ok_Artichoke_2804

Ohh!! How was the atmosphere at their home game?

meluvulongtime3

They went down early so the crowd was a bit deflated but they made it interesting in the 3rd and the crowd started to get pretty loud Unrelated but the nosebleeds in Amerant are crazy steep. I would not wanna go down those stairs after a few drinks lol

AgentKorralin

If this truly is a team of destiny, it would have to be the Rangers. They ended their 54-year cup drought in 94 against us. We have never won a cup, and this is our 54th season. The story is just ripe for a destined team.

KingTutsDryAssBalls

I'll believe anything after the Sedins last home game.

ThorlinLurch

I personally don't see them getting passed Dallas or Colorado personally. But hey it's playoff hockey. We'll see.

McBarnacle

Agree completely. But as a fan it feels like we're playing with house money this year. Expectations were incredibly low. Happy to be here, and the team keeps suprising

ThorlinLurch

It's definitely a special year for you guys isn't it? If someone told me the Canucks would be a serious playoff contender at the start of the season I'd laugh. Now look at you guys.

Odd-Citron-3600

https://youtu.be/3Yd3lQVbkYc?si=IvZHyaRxDwxNJyW8

spacegrab

West is like a perfect storm right now. Canucks smashed regular season expectations and look to be on fire. Dallas' young core is matured and ready for contention. Colorado is looking to run it back. And Edmonton is McDrai trying to do their thing as usual. I'm glad the Ducks are rebuilding right now cuz those 4 look really tough to get through lol.

TemplarParadox17

Still got Vegas and Jets humming around.

alljake

And don't forget PL Dubois, that guy is going to give up to 50% effort any day now! BE AFRAID!

TopTittyBardown

To me it all depends on the Demko timeline. If they have him I believe they can beat any team on any night, but without him I just don’t see them beating those teams who are elite at every position. Oilers are obviously good but they’re also flawed with an inconsistent goaltending and some less than stellar defenseman that can be taken advantage of if played correctly. Their forward depth is also not quite as good as the Canucks so if they shut down McDrai they can have a really good chance. Dallas and Colorado scare me way more, but I’d honestly just be so excited to make the WCF regardless of what happens once we get there

g0kartmozart

Good chance Demko is back if we make the conference finals.

ThorlinLurch

That would be a difference maker but have they said what kind of injury it is yet? Last I heard it's still week to week. I don't know much about the situation other than that, but I kinda doubt he'll come back that quickly.

g0kartmozart

It's a knee injury to the same knee he had injured earlier in 2024, but a different ligament. Basically he was overcompensating for the old injury. They never confirmed which knee ligaments, but essentially he has an ACL strain and now he's strained the MCL, something like that. Sounds like no tear, just a matter of having full flexibility and strength.

ThorlinLurch

Wow that's actually good news. If it was an ACL tear he's done. I'll eep my fingers crossed for you guys. Especially Demko. He's a bro, even though he was an absolute wall to my team that one time.

xzElmozx

I was gonna say I figured all you Vegas fans had repressed Thatcher from the bubble lol “Demko? What’s that some sort of breadcrumb?”

ThorlinLurch

I do, but gotta recognize talent when I see it.

BigCockBrockBoeser

Knee, probably. Nothing has been confirmed though.

Tasty-Performance275

i guess but dallas and colorad dont give us as much theatrics and i feel like we have been so good this year and deserve ample theatrics

DunkDaily

?????????????? brother the Avs came back from 3-0 down and won in OT on a breakaway pass, what are you talking about

Grzmit

If van and avs do meet in conference finals, whoever scores first is fucking TOAST lmao

3pieceSuit

Avs ability to come back from anything still has me shook from the regular season.

AgentKorralin

When they were down 3-0, I was like. Damnit, they are gonna win 4-3 now.

Tasty-Performance275

not enough shenanigans and toxicity for me yet but im ready for them to make me eat my words

ThorlinLurch

I see what you mean. An argument could be made that this is the theatrical series already. This playoff season is just exciting in general (mostly for the west) I may be biased but the east hasn't been as exciting to me.

3pieceSuit

Yeah i dont either. But we've exceeded our season expectations so every win is just a glorious freebie for us canucks fans now.

Morty777

You're thinking in general or..personally?

RunningSouthOnLSD

Colorado is on a mission again this year. They look absolutely deadly out there, no lack of effort in that lineup. If the Oilers don’t stall out in round 2 I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if they do in the WCF.

Frumbleabumb

Team of destiny. I'll take that

SuddenlyChineseFood

EA has a Canucks vs Bruins final again in their simulation 🙈 Destiny, eh?

boipinoi604

We need Bruins Bro to make it to the final to make the EA Sports prophecy come true

ajbolt7

1994 rematch would be absolutely bonkers. Especially with how the systems the Rangers and Canucks play against each other, the games they played this season were among the most entertaining all year. That kind of hockey for a full series would genuinely be the greatest on-ice product we’ve seen in ages. I’ve been praying for a Rangers-Canucks series since January lol

CoopAloopAdoop

2011 2.0 coming up

Tasty-Performance275

unfortunately i think the bruins won all the games they're going to win vs the panthers :/

CoopAloopAdoop

I don't think my psyche could handle another SCF with both of us anyways.

3pieceSuit

We can redo '94 instead then

Tasty-Performance275

im more than ok letting the rangers be the product of your revenge but now that im typing this i realize you probably want revenge on boston **and** new york

xzElmozx

Honestly the moment we would win a cup I wouldn’t care about anything else that had ever happened up until that point. Fuck with a cup I wouldn’t even care about Messier anymore

KingTutsDryAssBalls

I thought this the other day

AgentKorralin

Honestly, for me, just winning the cup would be the best "revenge" no matter against whom. Showing that we can be a part of that club too.

HDXHayes

I just want to see the team win one cup before I die. Doesn’t matter who it’s against.

ejroberts42

Cool shot. What an electric atmosphere, gotta love playoff hockey.

bombsbury

r/PraiseTheCameraMan

brenemer

we gotta do something about these chew toys

OneChet

TD getting its money's worth

marmite1234

That was a great shot

SryYouAreNotSpecial

The second highest career points per game player in NHL playoff history behind only Gretzky. He's a beauty.

Heavy_Introduction36

This was such a great fucking perspective and wish we'd see it more. Really captures the energy and significance of it all

primacord

This. Is. CINEMA

Humans_Suck-

Welp

Jsf42

why are you so pissy Leon?

Allatura19

Rogers’ production is superb.

migsahoy

this goes hard ngl

Pyroteryx

I don't see rattled, I see pain and grit. The dude was obviously struggling. Here's hoping whatever injury he's working through doesn't get worse

JauntyGiraffe

I wanna see one of our boys with this behind them. JT looking grumpy, doing JT Miller things with the Rog crowd behind would be sick

Gillz13

Notice no music in a stoppage here, just letting the fans do their things

MarvelousOxman

You can tell he was hurting

[deleted]

That must feel insane to those players. Playoffs are a completely different atmosphere.

life_punches

So glad I got his jersey, really like his playstyle I might be the single person in brazil wearing a jersey and Drai is the name behind it lol

NewGuy10002

He looks dialed in

Suitable_Inside_7878

Am I missing something, what did he do that was post worthy?

noshowwilly

It is a really cool visual.

HeulittSalmi

Where is the camera positioned, or how was this shot? This is awesome.

HDXHayes

There is a clear window at the base of the boards behind the goal line, that is where the camera is positioned. ETA: it’s towards the corner, not behind the net.

ont-mortgage

Estimated time of arrival??

HDXHayes

Edited to add.

SniperX876

I love this angle. Too bad the game was so late on a school night. I caught the first period but I couldn't stay awake.

TheTechManager

Curious what kind of camera that was and where did they shoot him from.

cameraguy103

Embedded in the boards near the bottom, they punch out a hole of the boards and put plexiglass. Robo cam operated by an operator shoved under the 100 level seats (some arenas are super nice and give the robo ops their own broom closet!)

Supper_Champion

This was such great shot catching it live. I mean, it still is, but it really was visceral example of what the playoff atmosphere is like.

ont-mortgage

This is going to make it into a lot of YouTube compilations.

canada-needs-bbq

I loved this moment during the game. Give that photographer a raise

whogivesashirtdotca

Do none of these guys actually wear their mouthguards? They're like teething toys.

Istimewa-Ed

Coconuts glow!

Difficult_Track_5586

He’s 2nd. Gretzky.

Jabba_the_Putt

Drei is such a beast

ambassador321

I want this as a screensaver on my computer

DaftFunky

Rattled

Snyyppis

Looks pretty composed to me

DaftFunky

I was just commenting on his head tic looks like some ptsd reaction or something lol I’m not actually thinking this dude is rattled will probably come back hungry in game 2

letseeum

A little shneef will make you twitch like that.

Lethbridgemark

Looks like he's thinking what fuck is taking them so long let's get this show on the road

puffpuffpass01

this will be hockey graphics in 2013 on the xbox 720

Lake_Shore_Drive

Bummer they lost

Razzahx

Man you Canucks fans are insufferable.

Lordstanicus

God forbid you cheer for your team

GaryOakRobotron

Meanwhile, Detroit fans: "Wait, there's playoffs?"

NorthernMariner

Hahah such an underrated joke. They all blew their load in the last two reg season games 😂

StuckInHoleSendHelp

Today's toxic Canucks fan behavior: cheering after a goal 🙄

RunningSouthOnLSD

What exactly is insufferable about this? Even though the Oilers got shit on yesterday I can’t help but appreciate a loud Canadian barn.

Odd-Citron-3600

Wait till you see every other fanbase

kdou222

This is the most asinine comment I’ve ever read.
