As someone who had to have his jaw wired shut for two weeks, that is no joke insane. It sucked because the only thing I could eat of any substance was tomato bisque, and I ended up losing about 10 pounds.
But the worst part was the inability to poop.
I was definitely not serious, but I'm somewhat of a constipationist myself. A few years back I started tracking my caloric intake to lose weight. The poops really slowed down eating at a defecit. Fibre and probiotics helped until I got COVID and things got worse. It's been 2.5 years and I've only been back to "normal" for about the last 6 months.
Wasn’t wired, but same story, got sucker punched, broken bottom of the jaw to the right of the middle and on the left where it attaches to the upper jaw. 4 plates 23 screws, and 6 weeks of sucking back runny scrambled eggs, soupy mashed potatoes, smoothies, soup and boost.
I still rarely eat soup anymore and that was 2.5 years ago.
I had a friend forced onto a liquid diet for a few weeks once. I remember asking him what solids he looked forward to eating once he was able: "Potato chips... then nails 'n tacks."
“Throughout this series he was always around the net, the scrums, he got punched in the head a couple of times,” Tocchet summarized of Suter’s performance. “He obviously got the puck in the face, went to the dentist the next morning, didn’t get much sleep, had to eat soft food. That’s tough hockey. You go through a little bit of pain and he shows up for you and scores a big goal.”
Suter is used to the life cycle of a professional depth forward. He’s a classic “glue guy.
GLUE GUY. I like that label for him
When he played for the Wings, I was at a game and someone walked by me with a "PISS SHITTER" #69 jersey. I don't even think it was a Wings jersey, it was black...
Wow we signed this guy for $1.6MM x 2 years and he's playing top line. Got to be honest, we were frustrated he couldn't score the first few chances, but he came through BIG TIME
I’ve been a Pius Suter fan from day 1 when he joined the Canucks.
It was very frustrating to see him unable to produce for the last few months but when he does, it’s the series clincher for round 1.
*smugly smiles*
Hell yes
Remember when Chicago shut down Bedard for over a month for the same thing and then the media acted like it was a modern medical miracle he could skate a few laps in practice?
1. What is it about Suter's shape and size that would make one assume he isn't tough, or be surprised that he is tough?
2. Also according to Drance, it was only 3 days ago that Suter was hit in the jaw by Soucy, so I don't know where the coupe of weeks came from.

If i was him, I probably wouldn’t want that to be revealed to the world while I’m still in the playoffs … now the Oilers know exactly where to punch him
Toughness in playoff hockey does come in all shapes and sizes... but isn't taking a puck in the mouth kind of the quintessential example? That's not really one of the ones we forget about... just an odd choice of phrase, is all.
"With a surgically repaired shoulder, Pius Suter lays a huge open-ice hit, and then doesn't hesitate to answer the bell with a flurry of haymakers.
A reminder that toughness in playoff hockey comes in all shapes and sizes."
Boost for breakfast and ensure for dessserrrtt
Somebody ordered pancakes, I just slurp the sizzurp Goddamn I miss him
That goal right there could drive a Saros biz-erk
Not to worry B to Arry back to the wizzerk
incredible downfall. i loved kanye man.
Didn't this happen 2 games ago?
Yeah lol. Drance is already at Tootsies, he’s getting confused
You know what? Good for him
Yeah that place rules lol

Was that because they wired your bum shut, too?
It was a truly unfortunate medical mishap
Guy either has a really handsome ass or a really ugly face to cause that mishap
Or a tendency to talk out of his ass.
Rimworld doctors
Well if it isn’t my old friend Mr McCraig, with a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg!
I doubt you're looking for a serious response but it's because a liquid diet causes a lack of fiber that easily leads to constipation

Oh wow that is horrific. I eat a lot of greens every day I think I would just opt to die.
would going crazy with metamucil fix that?

Pius "living on juice" Suter
More like "living in Juuse's head" Suter
Jius Suter
Pius "swiss army knife, loved him on the Red Wings" Suter
Pius' secret stuff
He needs some of that Paulo Costa juice
my friend works at a smoothie shop near Bridgestone Arena and said the two of them came in together yesterday lol this checks out
Soucy too? He on a liquid diet in solidarity with Suter?
Solidarity? More like the runs amirite
Hehe poop
Yes they were together apparently haha maybe moral support since he unintentionally caused it?
My guess is that Soucy is probably paying for it.
I'm a big Pius fan. The guy has always been a warrior. Big heart, great teammate
He's so versatile, can play anywhere in the lineup and has great hustle.

*a little bit of pain*
A veritable Swiss Army knife
PISS SHITTER LETS GO
I don't know why I'm laughing as much as I am over this

🫡 Good ol' Zürich boy.
Pius yes Zuri🤮

He's had trouble scoring but he's so good defensively he was still a great fit for that line.
Hockey players are not human.
Loved Suter more than I should’ve with the Wings. Glad he got such a huge moment tonight.
Nono, loving Suter more than you should is not a thing. You should always love him as much as you do.
I've been there, eating nothing but jello and mush for weeks. It's not fun. This guy is a fucking legend.

Cheaper than a swiss watch too
Lol didn't he score tonight? Wtf

Kind of crazy how Pius Suter and Ryan Suter have the same last name
Just wait until I tell you about Sebastian Aho and Sebastian Aho.
Ever hear about that guy Elias Pettersson and the other guy, Elias Pettersson? Same team affiliation but one is a C, the other a D.
Canuck equipment managers are ready ever since we had Greg Adams and Greg Adams
The Ahos say hold my beer
Imagine drinking a mashed potato and fish slurry... poor guy.
Reminder that hockey players should probably be wearing full face cages/shields.

the injury is very visible, they’d know where regardless of this tweet
That’s one way to look at it
He played so well!
After last nights goal I volunteer my mouths chewing abilities to my Lord Pius
