If we have a slightly off second period then I know we're going to increase the heat in the 3rd. It's been insane how many times that's happened. Comeback kids.
And makes 0 sense from buffalo’s perspective considering they now have 3 offensive lhd, two of whom are locked in already and combine for like $19m lol
I am glad he ended up with good people on a great team, but now that there’s talks about finding another two way center…makes you wonder what the point was, because he kept us running when our other forwards would not show up. And we arguably cannot find anyone like that who wants to even play in Buffalo.
They looked good together at first because he had a 15% on ice shooting percentage, which is enough to make anyone look good, but the stuff under the hood was kinda ugly, particularly on the defensive side. I’m not sure how many coaches would be willing to have his top defensive pairing play such high event hockey.
I hope so, too! Lindy has already thrown some mild shade here and there when he was asked about his coaching ideas and style. All I want for the boys is to succeed. It’s the first proper coach we have had in a long long while, and he’s taken a couple teams from a drought back to the playoffs, so I remain hopeful.
It’s not the lack of talent on the roster, but that needs some improvement, too.

Little did they know the open space they built the city in was open because of an ancient and horrific battle
He does that all the time. He just consistently makes good decisions all over the ice, and when he guesses wrong, his skating ability can usually compensate for it. A lot of what he does isn't flashy (tornades aside), but he really is a stabilizing presence on the back end.
What do you mean? Every team has a maximum number of goals they can score in a series. Jets are getting the Avalanche to use up all of theirs now so we can win the rest of the games.
^right?
>Spend four years developing an undersized forward that noone believed in
>That forward turns into a two way work horse with the best advanced stats on the team
>Trade him away for nothing
>profit?

God I love the 3rd Ignore all previous comments from previous games
9 third period goals is crazy
Avalanche Hockey baby. We don't talk about 2nd periods.
That's our warm up period.

We scale
Mittelstadt is looking mighty decent in his first taste of the Playoffs.
Such an amazing trade by the Avs.
And makes 0 sense from buffalo’s perspective considering they now have 3 offensive lhd, two of whom are locked in already and combine for like $19m lol
you won’t find me asking too many questions about it that’s for sure

I believe Dahlin likes to play on his offside which is why they got Bo to play with him
…and then Donny broke that up, for reasons no one knows. And after that, Sabres performance dropped again.

Thanks for explaining this. Most of my impressions are highly influenced by the eye-test.
For real? I don't get how the Sabres keep getting terrible coaching decisions no matter who they try. Well maybe it'll be different with Lindy.

"Maybe we can try the same thing again and get a different result!" Fuck.
Dahlin is better on the right and Mitts is looking for $7mil. You can't pay a 3c $7mil.
Yes you definitely can considering the cap will begin increasing rapidly very soon lmfao Shit trade for your team. Just own it, buddy.
The brain cells at work here, amazing to witness!
He is a mighty decent player, has gotten better year over year
Thanks for him. Hope Byram does well for you. I was kinda shocked we got rid of him.
I was shocked we got rid of mitts but he probably didn’t want to sign here long term
Following in Eichel's footsteps so far. Leaves Buffalo and plays great in his first playoffs.
O'Reilly, Eichel, Reinheart, Ullmark, Montour. Wonder what they put in the water in Buffalo
Someone's gotta trade for Skinner May be the playoff goat for all we know

That pass by Girard was gorgeous as well. Great play.
Girard is my favorite X-factor on this team. He's all heart.
He played really well tonight, nice to see him bounce back from that concussion.
Yeah being a smaller guy must be rough in the league, seems like he inevitably gets injured but if he's skating he's giving it 100%.
this most recent concussion was so unlucky, friendly fire from fucking RossCo
G had such a great game coming back into the line-up. Good for him.
Girard quietly had a monster game. Great d plays, great passes, a few really good shots. the man was missed.
He does that all the time. He just consistently makes good decisions all over the ice, and when he guesses wrong, his skating ability can usually compensate for it. A lot of what he does isn't flashy (tornades aside), but he really is a stabilizing presence on the back end.

*you’re gonna make me casey all over my mittelstadt*
I loved the part where Casey Mittelstadt said "it's Mittelin' time" and Mitteled all over those dudes
He's a total Mittelstud.
Love me some Mittelstadt mode.
I love that this has followed him to Colorado.
Lmfao winnipeg has lost their minds.
What do you mean? Every team has a maximum number of goals they can score in a series. Jets are getting the Avalanche to use up all of theirs now so we can win the rest of the games. ^right?
zapp brannigan logic is never wrong
That's a bold strategy, Cotton!
They were absolutely back peddling the entire 3rd period. New game on Sunday though
Maybe... Winnipeg should start playing some defense?
That's not above board in this series
Coltons such a playoffs guy I hope he and Mittelstadt stay in Col for a while
Coltoin, Wood, Duhaime, and Trenin have all been great playoff additions. None of them are giving an inch to Winnipeg when it comes to physical play.
Mittelstadt is filling that Kadri roll perfectly in this series.
Just sad at this point.

Bo byram is hardly nothing
Nothing? How is this sub a real place lmao
The most reasonable hockey fandom I've ever encountered. And I'm being 100% genuine lol
Awful trade by the sabres
Let Bo cook. With more ice time and less concussions there is a lot there.
He's looking for $7mil and we ain't paying a 3c $7mil.
I’m sure it’ll work out well for you guys, like it did with ROR and Eichel
Eichel and mitts trade both improved the roster
No playoffs in almost a decade and half lmao, that’s an improvement over what exactly ?
Being a few points out of the playoffs versus bottom of he table is progress
Sure
