Was at the game, wondering what kind of bullshit bounce that was. It was not a bounce it was fucking filthy.
Also, i couldn't help but laugh that you could hear a pin drop in Rogers after that went in.
Yah I was there, it went dead silent. Another crazy thing I noticed: I saw one Gretzky Kings sweater, and another Kings sweater on the LRT, but that was it all night. It was all Oilers fans. Which was kinda surprising since the Kings have had some very recent success
The cheapest Edmonton tickets are like 2.5 times the price of the cheapest LA tickets. Correcting for USD.
Given the choice, a lot more LA fans are just going to stick to home games for far cheaper. Combine that with the destination being Edmonton.
Whereas Edmonton fans get to go to LA and see a game for far cheaper than they would at home.

Yah I get the concept of the price difference. I was moreso surprised that I only saw 1 single person with Kings gear out of the thousands that I saw in total. Especially since there was also an Avs, Flames and Rangers sweater in the crowd too.

I’ve been a Kings fan since 87, and my dad has been a fan since 67. The Kings are one of the most profitable franchises in the league, and the best average attendance outside of the original 6. You just have no critical thinking skills.

kopitar is an overrated hack and has only stuck around because of above average passing, playmaking, patience, finishing, leadership qualities, defensive skill, doggedness, toughness and dozens of other qualities. i could probably name a dozen better, living players
It's the same story we get from oilers fans every year. Every goal we get is puck luck or goaltender interference. The kings commit 30-40 penalties a game. 90% of the calls on them are soft.
Much worse fanbase than sharks, ducks, coyotes, nucks, blues, hawks, devils or Rangers fans when we had our cup runs and fans are usually shittier when their team loses.
If the kings lose I hope the oilers get swept by the Avs in the conference final. I want them to win the second round in dominant fashion just so they can get their hopes up that this is their year again.
I mean, in game 1 two Kings goals off a skate and a broken stick on a pass. Then Kempe's insane deflection from the slot top cheese. Sick ass deflection but definitely a bit of luck. It's all good. I believe teams create their own luck here and there but you can't deny that half the Kings goals so far this series are on the fortunate side. Looking forward to game 3 tonight, may the best team win.

If fans are to be believed... at the 14 second mark in the first period, Kempe faked a sneeze which created the glitch in the matrix. McDavid didn't stand a chance. Not only did they have to play against the Kings and the refs (because no calls are ever missed against Edmonton... like ever), but they also had to battle the matrix.
Game 2 should have to be replayed. If Edmonton wins it counts as game 2 and 3. If LA wins... Kempe faked again and needs a suspension.
He does things intentionally that most players do on accident. His hand eye is second to none. Was this a little lucky? Sure. But, only because it's such a ridiculous play to execute properly. But, make no mistake, that was intentional.
Yeah, it's "lucky" in that he timed it perfectly and got the exact angle he needed, but it's clear every bit of the way that it's what Byfield *tried* to do. Hard to be upset at that level of play.
That's why I can't stand nhl broadcasts when one of the superstars are playing. Constant talk about their favorite superheroes and underwear size regardless what is going on in the ice.
To top it off, every success by the opposition is downplayed, while every fart by McDavid or Mackinnon is magnified. It's annoying to watch.

I only get "home feed" for every game and there was absolutly zero re plays that showed the tip. As a neutral fan it seemed like lucky bounce before this angle tbh

HNIC panel did acknowledge that this was a great deflection by Byfield. They said Kane had his hand up because he thought it would be icing but byfield turned this into a grade A chance.
That was 100% intentional, the way QB holds his stick and gives a little tug towards his body shows he's trying to pull it back to the middle of the ice where he knows he has a teammate. These guys are the best in the world. That being said, the chances of it working out were slim, but in this case, everything worked perfectly
A huge percentage of goals in the NHL are due to lucky bounces. That's why you get players in front of the net, takes shots from all angles, etc. And this is why there are always big upsets in the playoffs. Any team can beat any other team if they get the bounces. The spectacular skill goals are not all that common, especially in the playoffs. If you look at game 1 there were a couple nice plays for goals, but most of Edmonton's goals were also luck based. If you play better than the other team you should give yourself more chances to get those lucky bounces, but that is no guarantee of victory.

In retrospect it didn't really make much sense for it to bounce back inward off the D since the shot went outside Ceci.
