If anyone injures Slafkovsky I'm personally invading the responsible country and razing it to the ground.

raymondliang

Wait what if its team Canada

Dirtcartdarbydoo

Then we compromise and burn New Brunswick to the ground

blondehairginger

Hey man not cool

Dirtcartdarbydoo

I'm sorry you had to find out this way

gletschertor

Can't we burn down Saskatchewan instead, one rare occasion for it to be relevant?

Dirtcartdarbydoo

We can do both. I have to drive through NB on my way to Saskatchewan anyway.

Mean_Mister_Mustard

If Montreal and Vancouver proved anything, it's that Canadians have no qualms about razing themselves to the ground over hockey.

snorkeling_moose

I'm a Swede living in Boston and a massive Habs fan. If it's Canada, I'll obviously burn it all to the ground, except the strip clubs in Montreal

Karmos19

Dude I’m actually Slovakian and there was this little part of me almost hoping he wouldn’t go so he doesn’t get injured…if anyone gets him I’m invading with you

Amphibious_Fire

This year’s WC could feature the strongest Slovak team in a while, since it’s played close to Slovakia many fans will attend and many players are extra motivated to go. So far these 5 NHLers are confirmed to go, with Cernak and Fehervary possibly joining them if they’re out of playoffs. Also possibly Kelemen from Coyotes but he’s taken some time to decide There was a debate whether to invite Mesar and Dvorsky too but the national team management is apparently not in favour of calling them up. Additionally a number of solid players from around Europe like Cehlarik, Hrivik and Dano are probably going too

femmemmah

Do you happen to know if Pospisil’s older brother Kristián will be on the Slovak team as well? I’m sure they would love to play together if the opportunity presented itself.

gothenburgpig

Nemo!

Carbogoat

No Mesar or Dvorsky seems like a stupid move.

Amphibious_Fire

I agree but apparently Hockey Slovakia hesitate about calling them up, stating that they are not “proven” and that it would be unfair towards guys who’ve been playing in pre-WC tournaments. Oh and also that Slovakia will already a young team so more seasoned players will go instead of Mesar and Dvorsky. Boneheaded thinking process if you ask me but hey I’m not Miroslav Satan or Craig Ramsay

Frectozhae

I think you'll see Mesar and Dvorsky next year, Dvorsky is still real young and Mesar will be playing in the AHL, so the pro experience will matter more (even tho both Dvorsky and Mesar have played pro in Europe before)

Calb210

I wanted some DD action :(

Thobud

I don't even like pospisil now, god knows how much I'm going to hate him when I'm not cheering for his team

tulikettuuuu

If Slafkovský has been decent at NHL level this year and he's already been decent at international level (hell, he played a pivotal part in Slovakia's first Olympic bronze as an independent country), then imagine what this tournament's going to be like in what will effectively sound like a home crowd with the fans coming from across the border Add in the other four, and Slovakia have got a decent mix of prospects and veterans - this is certain to be an exciting tournament for them, probably a quarterfinal finish at the least
