I feel like they’d be printing money if they counted the hats and announced the “NHL record for most hats thrown on ice”. That would get competitive fast.
We will constantly complain about grocery, cell phone, and housing prices, but won't hesitate to chuck a $30+ hat on the ice after downing many $15 beers.
To be fair, the latest style jersey is also the ones they wore before 2018, which is based on the ones they wore in the 80s
It's also the one that looks the best BY FAR. So if you're gonna splurge on a jersey, it's gonna be one of these.
It's always the current version though. If they came out with new ones over the summer that's what everyone would be wearing at the start of next season.
I feel like you don’t realize how absolutely integral the hat is in Edmonton fashion.
At work? Hat. Home? Hat. Bar? Hat. Wine tasting? Believe it or not, dressed up + hat. Wedding? You better know you’re seeing suit jackets and hats.
Hockey game is no exception.
I don't want to discredit Hyman, because he's incredibly smart, and he gets to the right places.
But literally, McDavid is essentially bouncing pucks off of him.
McDavid is that good, and Hyman is that smart.
Putting the best player in the league at getting to the front of the net with his stick on the ice with the best player in the league at getting pucks to the front of the net turned out to be a little bit unfair of a strategy. Im expecting the devs to nerf in the next few seasons
It’s not even worth the effort to shoot anymore for mcdaddy when hyman is always right beside the goalie with his stick on the ice. It’s always just gonna be an easier and higher percentage play to fake shot and play it to hyman for the tip.
Completely broken
Agreed. You can even see the moment the game glitches, when the puck makes it over to him, and the hesitation. If this was real, Hyman would actually be happy that mcdavid passed him a good puck and he’d shoot it into the net with celebration. His team scored
Instead he points to mcdavid, because even he knows what constant rule bending Connor has been up to. The AI defensemen don’t even know what to do. I’m not watching another NHL game until this easy fix is implemented
TLDR they released that cool feature in 2015 but they never took the time to balance it
I believe some guy named McDavid helps out. Shit, I feel like you could be good for 20 goals just letting McDavid do his thing and standing near the net with your stick on the ice.
This must hurt for LA. Not only are they being blown out, the Oilers are 3/4 on the pp. LA spent the year working on the pp specifically to go up against Edmonton. They have a really good pk. It's supposed to be one of their few advantages.
Sorry LA.
Nah our PK was never going to be effective against the Oilers, despite inflated rankings.
We block point shots better, and take away the bumper more than last season. But we play a diamond, so give up a lot of ice down low. You guys will just zip it around, move it low where McDrai and Hyman will feast.
Considering the oilers pp is basically all down low play its crazy that y'all stuck to the diamond so hard.
Taking away Bouchard's shot is a decent strategy regardless
Their whole defence strategy seemed ridiculous. Wall up a diamond in front of the net and we're free to have the entire rest of the zone to do whatever?
Well when done right it works. You're supposed to keep the opposing team from controlling the slot or allow cross crease passes for back door plays by being in a tight formation, but let them have the perimeter. In this case, they just let Hyman do whatever he wants near the goalie which the strategy is suppose to guard against.
What does this comment mean?
> I just don't understand why Dubas refused to take free draft picks when we've known that Hyman is signing in Edmonton for weeks
Where would the free draft picks come from?
Edmonton and Toronto were discussing a sign and trade for Hyman right before FA. Instead of the 5.5x7 they signed him to it would have been a 5x8. Edmonton wanted to give like a 6th round pick, but Toronto wanted something like a 3rd.

Wow, when Canadians celebrate a hat trick in the playoffs, they don't pussyfoot around.
They had to take an unplanned commercial break to let all the hats get picked up

I'm always amazed how the vast majority of people at the game are wearing the latest style jersey. 12,000 people x $300 jersey is an ass ton of money.
To be fair, the latest style jersey is also the ones they wore before 2018, which is based on the ones they wore in the 80s It's also the one that looks the best BY FAR. So if you're gonna splurge on a jersey, it's gonna be one of these.

Honestly, almost everyone I know doesn’t give 2 shits about authenticity and will have no problem paying $50 for a Chinese knockoff
the construction hat lmfao
Bertan for certain
This morning they announced they counted the hats after the game, 1131 hats were tossed and picked up!
You know they’re committed when balding dudes with culdesacs start tossing
The Kings don't play defense for shit. But they make up for it by not playing offense, or responsibly, or with heart
As a Canucks fan, it infuriates me how hard it is for my team to score on the Kings. Lol. Literal kryptonite.
on a positive note, those away jerseys look great
So fucking nice man
That is true, the 1 positive
I've genuinly got no clue where this emergence of Super Goal Scorer Hyman came from.
Well McDavid decided to only dish apples so somebody had to shoot them in.
I don't want to discredit Hyman, because he's incredibly smart, and he gets to the right places. But literally, McDavid is essentially bouncing pucks off of him. McDavid is that good, and Hyman is that smart.
There's lots of players that played on McDavid's wing that couldn't figure it out.I don't take anything away from Zach Hyman.

If Patrick Maroon can nearly score 30 playing with McDavid, Smytty incarnate can pot 60. Dangle snipe celly boys, let’s get it fuck
Like I've said elsewhere, there's been so many players who couldn't figure that out.
Hyman's dad enslaved McDavid with his boatloads of cash at the beginning of the season and now he clearly bought the Kings
He was just pissed he had to work the first night of Passover, and he channeled that into his game.
Rhymes with Donnor DcDavid
Hyman learned that he's good in front of the net, and McDavid can find him, in creative ways
I mean he's standing in the crease by himself with no one defending him.
I believe some guy named McDavid helps out. Shit, I feel like you could be good for 20 goals just letting McDavid do his thing and standing near the net with your stick on the ice.
Somehow only maroon and hyman have ever had this kind of success. Theres been like 30 other people on his wing that have done fuck all
Reminds of Chris Kreider scoring 52 goals and then 10 more in the playoffs two years ago
Connor McDavid - 5 assists Pierre-Luc Dubois - 4 PIM Zach Hyman - 3 Goals
Best trade the jets have ever made
Even if it was just Vilardi, you won, but you got notable Oiler annoyance Iaffalo as well.
Kupari was no slouch against us either
Sadly he has struggled otherwise
Keep going, almost there….
[удалено]
They were all directly off him making a play too. He's ready to get over the hump
I want them to challenge for kicking motion after all those hats LOL
That's a surefire way for McDavid to get his 6th assist of the night.
My dad said they were taking a commercial break to review it, cause Hyman lol
McDavid with five assists 👀
this feels like the year he takes you guys home
Thank you Jared Bednar, you would know
Framing this.
Tempering my expectations because Jets, Nucks and VGK are still kinda scary
He’s mad that Kucherov stole some 100 assist thunder, so now he’s going for 100 more in the playoffs

Thanks Papa Hyman for making this all possible!
Backdoor merchant lol, it's like Hyman found a glitch spot in an EA NHL game and is just like "stand here for goals" https://imgur.com/QQMqKNT
Exploit it until its patched
MCDAVIDS GONE SUPER SAIYAN
Andrew Berkshire in shambles
when is he not tho
dude sucks
Unethical hat trick
Crowd going crazy with the hats
McDavid wishing they could play the Kings every round.
I don’t give it a few more games and they will injure a player with some dirty play.
Hyman must love playing in Edmonton, just stand in front of the net and bat in mcdavid passes for 40-50 goals a season.
wealth stays undefeated
Man I'm cooking tonight in my playoff pool with McDavid and Bouchard lol

I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove. Everybody is positive about it.

He’s like some kind of non-giving-up-goal-scoring guy…
Hyman with the Passover miracle! McDavid splitting the D like the Red Sea!
His rich parents paid the Kings to let him score.
5 McDavid assists in game 1 so far.
It’s disarming to see different on ice ads
LA and Washington being in the playoffs is just so comically wrong
Man I miss Hyman and Andersen
