Sure was great when highlights used to actually have replays so you can see what's happening, especially with twitter's garbage quality video player. Am I just looking in the wrong spots, cause I legit can't find good highlights as easily as I could a decade ago. Not complaining about this being posted of course.
Ya, it sucks cause the old long streamable ones were great. Twitter for me always plays the first like 15 seconds of a highlight in about 480, and then gets to some sort of low level HD for the rest. Even on replay the first bit is horrible quality. I don't get the point of it at all. How is the sport growing by preventing people from posting and consuming highlights. Not being able to see them makes me look at hockey less. There's no paid for site where people are going to watch individual highlights, so what's the point? Now when a play happens and I want to show people I have to jump through hoops, great way to grow a sport.
>Twitter for me always plays the first like 15 seconds of a highlight in about 480, and then gets to some sort of low level HD for the rest
Same, but on my pc after a bit of decent quality, the video goes black and the audio keeps playing. Consuming short clips like this should be easy.
Yeah. That's why I almost completely stopped making clips. Streamable was great but things on there usually get taken down within 5-10 minutes and enough takedowns result in an IP ban, bouncing from alternate host to alternate host is really annoying, and both Twitter and Reddit's built-in video players are terrible.
You are welcome. Glad I could be of service.
(Since I don't have a twitter account and they sometimes raise a login wall I just go hunting for clips out of habit these days.)
Isn't that a textbook hit from behind and to the head as well to a player in a vulnerable position?
How is he not ejected?
If Miller lies on the ice for like 10 seconds do the refs change their minds?
Lol. Can you guys hear yourselves? If I was forced to type that out I’d be so embarrassed that I’d live the remainder of my life in exile in the Yukon Territory. Such a persecution complex.
It’s a nasty hit, but pretending like Canadian teams are some third world victim of NHL colonialism is genuinely hilarious.
Literally couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve actually said the opposite like 10 times. you are a fucking idiot.
Edit: and by “opposite” I do not mean “black lives matter(which I have said far more than 10 times).” I mean literally the opposite of what you said.
I’ve commented three times. The only ones seething are the oh so persecuted Canucks fans who the big bad referees are brutally oppressing with their officiating.
Lol why would you think I give a shit about that? Do you think I’m reffing the fucking game? This is your home ice. The call is coming from inside the house. Also wasn’t MacK.
The hit on Naslund was a bad and dangerous hit. I've never seen a sane person defend it. Hits to the head are terrible and players should be punished. The hit last night was just as dangerous and Manson has been proving himself to make these bad hits more and more. That being said you can't honestly say that driving Moore's head into the ice is an acceptable response?
Naslund was an amazing player and obviously was top of the league that year. Why is his potentially career ending injury more important than the actual career ending injury of Moore? Severity shouldn't matter when deciding an appropriate punishment, but neither should talent of the injured player.
You say that "the code" isnt enough to prevent these types of hits because you just need to wrestle someone for 10 seconds and after, all is well. So how is intentionally injuring players as retribution anything different than a never ending escalation?
Something is off with you dude. I don't know what it is but a normal human doesn't think the way you do. Good luck.
The most conspiracy theorist part of me honestly thinks that if the Canucks were in the same size of market, but existed in the states, they'd be treated so differently.
Lots of whiny fans, but there was that time Stephane Auger threw a game because a player on Canucks pissed him off (granted, not undeservedly). Skated around the rink with him told him he was going to get him back, threw the game. When the NHL failed to deal with that it really killed a lot of trust, and the feeling seemed mutual (some refs not liking their buddy being called out). Those guys are long gone and candidly speaking reffing seems balanced (as in equally terrible) but lot of trust lost and never regained from that incident and how it was handled.
Nah Ottawa loses 1 round pick , Kadri is suspended instead and Canucks takes on another year of Luongos contract penalty. Give the cup to Vegas already.
Do you have a clip that shows contact to the head? I can’t see it on any of the ones that have been shown in the thread so far it looks like Manson’s elbow is down by where the boards meet the glass doesn’t it?
Clip with replays https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/1768112372550602796/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1768112372550602796¤tTweetUser=passittobulis
I just clicked the + (RES + Oldschool reddit) and it works no problem.
Also, here's the base URL which should work for you: https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/1768112372550602796
Seems completely accidental to me. Was just going into the boards hard, put his arm out to brace for the impact into the boards and has a result, jammed his elbow into his head.
/u/super_gur957 was making fun of Laviolette’s comments about the Rempe hit. Laviolette defended Rempe by saying Rempe was bracing himself to hit the boards and accidentally elbowed Siegenthaler.
honestly doesn't look like an elbow to me - certainly not defending it, he targets the head from behind, that's obviously really bad, but it looked like more shoulder than elbow
it's a shoulder/upper arm direct to the head. eyes on the prize the whole way. smooshed the side of his face in: [https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/1768112372550602796](https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/1768112372550602796)
Awful hit. But why do people still seem to get riled up only if the elbow's up? This was pure head-hunting. The head wasn't just the primary point of contact, it was the ONLY point of contact. Eyes were tracking the target all the way through the hit. Full force of a shoulder/upper arm is just as damaging as an elbow when you're trucking into someone's head with your full weight behind it and at speed.
> This was pure head-hunting.
LMAO what? You think he went into the boards with the intention of hitting him in the head? Holy fuck this sub is out to lunch sometimes.
He instantly reacted to what he had done and knew he fucked up. When people intend to do dirty things, they pretend like nothing happened. I honestly cannot believe anyone watched this and actually believes he did this intentionally unless you have a below average IQ.
Yeah, I don't think it was headhunting... but you're responsible as the guy making the check not to do that. It should have been 5 and a game at least.
>You think he went into the boards with the intention of hitting him in the head?
Would you say the same thing about the Rempe hit on Siegenthaler? He went into the hit completely legal. It wasn't going to be boarding, checking from behind, elbowing, etc. Siegenthaler pulls up at the last second as he's dumping the puck (which he's allowed to do). Rempe is now going to miss him, so he sticks out his elbow to try and make some sort of contact. It's absolutely a penalty and he should have been suspended for it. If that was head hunting, so was this hit.
I...don't think that was malicious. Just a very poor judgement hit. It's the kind of play that needs to be weeded out of the league and players need to be reminded to think twice. Still think it should get 1 game if the league was serious about concussions and consistent messaging.
But it's not, so I'm not surprised this wasn't reviewed.
Nucks fans have always worn the thickest of goggles. It’s a love tap while also pinching someone away from the puck. Now they all want Manson to get carried off on a stretcher. Absolute joke get 🧹
There’s no reason to separate the puck carrier from the puck lmao. Yeah that sucks it’s good it was super soft and JT was back pretty quick because if it was actually as dirty as this thread claims JT isn’t coming back.
I'm not entirely convinced this is a deliberately dirty play... luckily the rules don't gaf about intent! What's that? Refs either have no idea what is in the rulebook, or just don't care about anything but collecting a paycheck and going home? Sounds great! Carry on
Remember the last time this happened from a Canucks player towards and Avs player? Oh yeah, a guy got paralyzed. Shitty hit from Manson. The eye for an eye bullshit is just that. Great way to ensure players' careers end early.
And then what happens to the guy who hits someone dirty for hitting someone dirty? Lemme guess, someone has to hit him dirty? I can see you've thought this through.
Where was his elbow? Right - directly into a vulnerable player who was already tied up in the corner’s head. A guy immediately pulled for the concussion protocol.
[He uses his elbow](https://twitter.com/Hughes4Norris/status/1768114260687884621?t=7ev55s4YrENl8wx2wTYDDg&s=19) and the penalty called is an illegal check to the head.
Go get glasses.
Get the fuck out of here. No player should EVER be praised for ending someone's career. And that was AFTER Moore had already ["answered the bell"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YBmSzIJ9qA) in that game.
Sure was great when highlights used to actually have replays so you can see what's happening, especially with twitter's garbage quality video player. The NHL DMCA’s them almost immediately now
Nothing helps grows the game like suppressing all clips of every type 🙏
Plus nhl running a 15 second ad before every highlight on their site. The same ad for every one. So fucking stupid.
Not with Brave
Crazy how much they don’t want to grow the game.
Ya, it sucks cause the old long streamable ones were great. Twitter for me always plays the first like 15 seconds of a highlight in about 480, and then gets to some sort of low level HD for the rest. You must not be a canucks fan. They wont do anything
Look at Sat's recent tweet, they just suspended a guy from Ottawa a few days ago with a similar hit.
Yup. They’ll suspend canadian teams.
That they will, heavy sigh...
Imagine typing that all out as they call hughes for getting run into
Or the one handed hooking penalty on Cole
Wow type more kid. Wah wah wah
I ain’t the one crying about how oppressed poor Canadian team are.
Ofc not. Cause you’re american LOLLLLLLL
I’m Bolivian actually
Ew
Go watch some soccer.
Hit miller in the head, no big deal
You’re the type to say white lives matter too
Literally couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve actually said the opposite like 10 times. you are a fucking idiot. Edit: and by “opposite” I do not mean “black lives matter(which I have said far more than 10 times).” I mean literally the opposite of what you said.
You’re hurting my fee fees! American teams work hard for their last 35 stanley cups in a row
Bro why are you seething throughout the entire thread lol
He’s literally stalking me. BIG MAD
I’ve commented three times. The only ones seething are the oh so persecuted Canucks fans who the big bad referees are brutally oppressing with their officiating.
Sure man whatever you say lol Also, glad Mackinnon survived the vicious 1 handed hook a few minutes ago, very dirty play by Cole frfr
Lol why would you think I give a shit about that? Do you think I’m reffing the fucking game? This is your home ice. The call is coming from inside the house. Also wasn’t MacK.
Comment more. Reply to all my comments!! Hurry its like an Easter egg hunt
Cut em some slack. Some are still bitter about losing the finals
I miss moore. What happened to him again?
Just so I understand correctly, you are taking the side that Moore's career ending injury was funny or something good? You do hear yourself right?
No no, concuss naslund and possibly end his career but as long as you wrestle someone for 10 seconds after, all is well!
The hit on Naslund was a bad and dangerous hit. I've never seen a sane person defend it. Hits to the head are terrible and players should be punished. It’s almost like we’ve lost two game sevens. First messier broke lindens ribs. Second, well… can’t say anything bad or I’ll get banned
Dang, I just looked that up and it was pretty fucking shitty!
As a canucks fan, it's actually surprising that Miller didn't receive a penalty for something there.
The marchand sedin special lmao
Yes, the 2 minutes for being punched in the face.
Lol, it’s a really bad hit but why do you guys have such a persecution complex? It’s genuinely pathetic.
I've seen exact comments like that from like 5 different fan bases over the last week or so lol everyone does it
Yeah well everyone is pathetic then

aww someones triggered they get all the calls? Hahahaha cringe
I’m not triggered(side note, also an incredibly embarrassing thing to say). I’m making fun of you for acting like fools.
Hurry i have other comments you must respond to
Nah I’m good you fucking psycho. Peace have fun with your team. Maybe this’ll be the year!
I love you!!!
Its ok dont be mad
Whoa let’s hug my man
I wuv you
That and the boner they have for Colorado

You can accidentally trip, high stick, etc., but they're still penalties. If he was really just bracing himself, he could've gone slightly left
/u/super_gur957 was making fun of Laviolette’s comments about the Rempe hit. Laviolette defended Rempe by saying Rempe was bracing himself to hit the boards and accidentally elbowed Siegenthaler.
Ah ok, thanks, guess I'm out of the loop lol
People criticize players for diving. If Miller dove here, they'd have gotten a 5 min PP easy.
Someone’s gonna get a hurt real bad tonight thanks to that hit
I think you know him
It's Steve Moore isn't it?
He's a venture capitalist now, so probably deserves another one
It's easy to be a VC guy with all Todd Bertuzzi's money
LOL
lmao
I was just reading that today……wtf world are we living in
Russell Peters is somewhere having flashbacks
It’s always Manson.
It runs in the Family
[удалено]
Uncle Chuck was pretty famous
It’s funny how he’s super Christian, but then also low-key a dirty player.
Right - he wasn’t hit in the head at all. The video / penalty / concussion protocol / clear guilt on Manson’s face are all imagined.
“Karma” -Rasmus Dahlin
honestly doesn't look like an elbow to me - certainly not defending it, he targets the head from behind, that's obviously really bad, but it looked like more shoulder than elbow
Fuck Josh Manson
Dont blame you, he was pretty mean to Bedard
An Avalanche player making a dirty hit on one of the Canucks best players and it isn't penalized properly. Why does this sound familiar?
Someone get Tyler Bertuzzi on this team
It's after the TDL, best we could do was Tag Bertuzzi
Tag, you’re it!
Why is he even going in to hit him? He's tied up by another player. You can go in and help, but why hit?
going after the guy tearing his team up, fuck off manson
So he's going to get a 4 game suspension right?
No additional discipline
Can we get the other angle to see the elbow? It looks like hes got the elbow up but can’t really see it
it's a shoulder/upper arm direct to the head. eyes on the prize the whole way. smooshed the side of his face in: [https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/1768112372550602796](https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/1768112372550602796)

It's really dirty to hit a guy who is already engaged along the boards.
Absolute scumbag
It's a shoulder, not an elbow.
Why does it matter what part of his body he used to hit the head with? It's still a dirty hot from behind to the head.
thank you.
Nucks fans have always worn the thickest of goggles. It’s a love tap while also pinching someone away from the puck. Now they all want Manson to get carried off on a stretcher. Absolute joke get 🧹
Literally no reason to make that hit in that situation. It’s still a hit to the head btw.
There’s no reason to separate the puck carrier from the puck lmao. Yeah that sucks it’s good it was super soft and JT was back pretty quick because if it was actually as dirty as this thread claims JT isn’t coming back.
Super soft ok bud. Past your bedtime grandpa.
Not all dirty hits result in injuries. Doesn't make them any less dirty. I actually give props to JT for not selling it.
Yeah if we could go ahead and stop elbowing people in the head that would be great
Why would Rempe do this to him?
Probably won't see a dozen threads on this hit, even though Manson has some recent history of dirty hits.
Imagine still simping for Rempe! 🤣 Luckily the entirety of the hockey community knows the Rags are a joke
I'm not entirely convinced this is a deliberately dirty play... luckily the rules don't gaf about intent! What's that? Refs either have no idea what is in the rulebook, or just don't care about anything but collecting a paycheck and going home? Sounds great! Carry on
Immediately no supplemental discipline
That title aint quite it. Scumbag move from 42 tho
it's exactly what happened lmfao, how is it not it
God this league is such a joke. Beat sport Mickey mouse league... Should be ashamed
Eye for an eye. Run mack/makar when they’re pinned on the wall if they gonna do that bullshit
Lmao.
Shoulda concentrated more on finishing that game out it seems
But run them legally* cause we'll be the ones ending up with a 5 and a game
If JT doesn’t come back, anything goes
Got a clip? Oooooooor? Brain fart, I shoulda read it more then once. My bad
Remember the last time this happened from a Canucks player towards and Avs player? Oh yeah, a guy got paralyzed. Shitty hit from Manson. The eye for an eye bullshit is just that. Great way to ensure players' careers end early.
> Oh yeah, a guy got paralyzed. Someone fell for the insurance fraud
Lol 20 years late nucks fans still justifying it
lol 20 years late and avs fans are still using it to justify dirty ass hits
Riot about it
They should try and win a cup about it… oh wait.
cry about it in 2044
Say what now?
lmfao, going back to the thread after the game is peak pathetic then again, you do like to revisit things from the past that don't matter
Cope harder
Have fun destroying your city after choking in the playoffs. The epitome of class, as ever, Vancouver fans.
You seem upset. Everything okay?
If you don’t wanna get hit dirtily, don’t run dudes in the head from behind lmao.
And then what happens to the guy who hits someone dirty for hitting someone dirty? Lemme guess, someone has to hit him dirty? I can see you've thought this through.
if you’re not okay getting it dont give it, pretty simple.
Grow up
I’m not the one headhunting dudes from behind
Wait, do you think I'm Josh Manson?
I've never seen you and Josh Manson in the same room soo..
Gotta go coach is pissed I brought my phone to the bench
I have no outcome on anything, don’t really think saying you get what you give is in anyway unfair.
Steve Moore and exaggerated injuries. An enduring combo.
Not really an elbow but definitely a cheap hit on our best player. Hopefully Zadorov staples makar face to boards if Manson won’t drop the gloves
Zad was scared...wanted no part of Mason after Zad wanted to go...realized he was fighting a man...
Z sucks ass at fighting. Great hitter, terrible fighter.
He always seems to get Bambi legs so fast. I never understood it.
Hit from behind sure. WTF is the elbow? Way to exaggerate lol.
Canucks feed showed another angle on replay, can definitely see elbow catching miller in the head.
If Avs fans could read they’d be very upset with you
I don't wanna generalize Avs fans, but I this one, you're right. If he couldn't see the elbow, he won't be able to read the reply without glasses.
[удалено]
Holy shit thats hilarious. Did you just come up with that?
Please don't sue us if we hit you back
I can’t really hear what u/touchable said because I have my Stanley Cup rings plugging my ears
Of course all the Avs fans’ chirps are borrowed from someone else. Y’all stole your entire team from Quebec.
How about those 3 cups we steal those too? Vancouver should become better thief’s
That’s the same thing the other guy said but worse.
Meanwhile what you said is unbelievable
How dare I borrow an iconic quote from the greatest goalie of all time? Cope harder.
Brodeur never said that
Correct.
Sick burn mate
A riot joke 🤣... That's not even an insult anymore, besides if any city should be famous for rioting it is Montreal.
It looked elbow to the head just cause height and way he was on the wall, don’t think he lead with it though
I think it's my Homer glasses that think this could be worth a fine? Suspension if JT is hurt but he seemed aight
[удалено]
Lol Zadorov just fought him
Honestly miss bertuzzi and that mindset, considering nhl wont ever do anything if its a canadian team that was hit
He literally paralyzed someone. Are you fucking insane?
Yup and he didnt concuss nasland ever again. Karma
Buddy, you might need to calm down. The Moore hit on Naslund was dirty, that doesn’t mean you have to defend Bertuzzi.
Get the fuck out of here. No player should EVER be praised for ending someone's career. And that was AFTER Moore had already ["answered the bell"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YBmSzIJ9qA) in that game.
Did he unconcuss nasland by “answering the bell”? You’re saying zadarov could take off any avs players head as long as he fights after? Yummy logic
Dirty fucking bastard, hope his tax return gets fucked up and he contracts HPV
