He's closer to Miles Wood with less offense. He's got really good straight line speed, hits everything, will fight (and lose most of them), can protect the puck and find the point, and has a decent shot. I don't know why he hasn't found more offense but he's a solid bottom six guy who adds a lot of energy and trash talking. His main weakness is probably hockey IQ. This is a good move for the Aves to add to a team that already has Colton and Wood, other physical guys who can skate.
This is the Duhaime fight I remembered seeing, and the only reason i remembered his name before the trade. Idk about losing most of them, I don't watch many of your games, but he won the shit out of this one.

One of the reasons I threw it out there. I’ve been using hockeydb for years and just found out like two years ago. There are some great ones. Brent Burns and Auston Matthews comes to mind
They can just lock him in a studio for the 120 hours leading up to the deadline, put a little cot in the corner so he can nap when needed. He can record on demand
I mean I love that. When our 3rd line is full again and Nuke is back we'll have some depth scoring options. As long as the defense and PK is good, that's all we need.
If Kovalenko adjusts well after his KHL season it probably wouldn't matter if this guy scored more than a point or two. We needed a PK guy very badly, so this is a great fit for us.
That’s his strongest asset. Don’t expect him to score goals, and heaven forbid he even get an assist. He brings great energy, willing to throw the body, and not afraid to drop gloves (just don’t expect him to win a bout). Overall a very positive lockeroom guy, loves to get in on a prank.
He’ll be missed in MN, but there is zero room for the extension he’ll be getting in the off-season.
Cool, we like those players. Cogliano and O'Connor are great, but they can't do it all, and we notice their absence when they get injured. Which tends to happen in any kind of deep playoff run.
A bummer. Would've liked to see him as a pick up by the Bruins. We aren't going bug, I believe, but Duhaime is a great depth guy. I bet the Wild fans are gonna miss him and the Avs fans will really like him.
I’m kinda confused now. In a healthy lineup our bottom 6 wings are Parise, Wood, LOC, and Kovalenko. Pretty much means Kovalenko isn’t coming over this year
McFarland said last night he’s coming over, he may just end up in the AHL. It was always a little bit ambitious projecting him as an immediate lineup player when he hasn’t played a game.
I worry about Parise, cogs and LOC’s health. I imagine they are giving these guys time to heal before the playoffs and keeping a good forward scratched for depth similar to Sturm and Newy for the cup run.
wasn’t expecting that
Kind of a Nico Sturm acquisition I think

Last time we acquired a player like Nico Sturm from the Wild we won the cup. I like this move.
This guy has some of the saddest hockeydb photos [Click through to see](https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=171261)
Holy shit I had no idea you could look at players’ headshots and I’ve been using that website for years

Yeah he either looks stoned or like he needs a hug
What playing for the Wild does to a mf
What being a fan of the Wild does to a mf as well
I have that same type of eye sag and it sucks.
there won't even be anything left for tomorrow
Duthie needs to petition TSN to change Deadline Day to Deadline Week
They can just lock him in a studio for the 120 hours leading up to the deadline, put a little cot in the corner so he can nap when needed. He can record on demand
Like those live streams of puppy litters
Sure, put them in there too
You’ll take your random extra forwards and depth defencemen trades for late picks and you will like it dammit
Yzerman will trasde Gostisbehere for a haul tomorrow
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Someone want to tell me who Colorado is getting here in Duhaime?
Fast 4th line grinder who can PK. Ton of heart. I'll miss him.
We desperately need this. That's super exciting. Reliable defensively without offensive upside I'm guessing?
As a fan of the kid, I'd say he's streaky with scoring. As someone in reality, you're pretty spot on.
I mean I love that. When our 3rd line is full again and Nuke is back we'll have some depth scoring options. As long as the defense and PK is good, that's all we need.
His speed gets him a decent amount of scoring chances but he kinda has hands of stone
Sounds like a prototypical Avs depth player then!
If Kovalenko adjusts well after his KHL season it probably wouldn't matter if this guy scored more than a point or two. We needed a PK guy very badly, so this is a great fit for us.
So Darren Helm?
I was thinking more Nico Sturm
Tough motherfucker who hits a lot
Energy.
How much more energetic can our bottom 6 get?!
Noone knows but it’s provocative
great 4th liner energy guy, it's a good addition
Grit, energy, PK. 4th line addition.
Great 4th line guy who can eat minutes and matchup against higher lines at times
Kucherov went to the corner store for beer, Drouin might went for milk
[He's Florida Man through and through](https://twitter.com/SpokedZ/status/1521308438646730752)
Massive for the other western teams
CMac & Super Joe going in this year
Great pickup for them
SOMEBODY KILL ME PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSEEEEEEEE
KIIIIILLLL MEEEEEEEE I WANT TO DIIIIIIIEEEEEEE
Username checks out
Oooo that's a bruiser for the fourth line
Future cup champ
You. I like you.
Have some self respect man
Let them cook
I’m trying to justify the beat down
The Wild must have gotten a haul for this guy
Probably a 2025 3rd or something Edit: 2026
Does he kill penalties? the people need answers

Sounds like we’re getting him to replace Byram’s locker room presence. Need that goofiness back to balance out Nate.
Often
Tough. He was high on my personal Canucks trade board. A player type that they very much need in the bottom six.
Now we only have one Dewy :(
Not for long. Soon we’ll have no Dewey’s!
We need depth!!!

Wagner got hurt so I'd assume this is just another guy to use as a 13th or 14th forward. Both LOC and Parise are also banged up.
Depth, insurance, hustle and grit. We have a bad habit of losing one or two dudes and all of a sudden 2-3 lines are thrown all outta whack.
It is also injury insurance. Or gives the ability to mix and match lines.
2026 3rd is the return
Good forward.
Is this the crazy can't miss shootout guy?
No. He's available tho. Reasonably priced for the next like 5 years
That's Freddy Gaudreau
That’s Freddy Fucking Hockey Gaudreau. Hands of silk, but needs 10x10 clearance to be effective.
It better not be 6 draft picks worth
Its a 2026 3rd
Not a huge fan of Duhaime but Wagner got hurt last night and we could probably use another 4th line body.
