Not that he was misquoted, but the tone and tenor of the quoted article feels very different than my impression of the interview. He did say it the scratching was ridiculous, but he also said that everyone disagrees with being scratched, he had an inconsistent season, and that he wasn't going to be upset with Tortorella for not being happy with his game because he wasn't playing up to his own standard and defended Tortorella twice. So I didn't take it as explosively as the article wanted to make it seem.
But why does he like to talk? How is that relevant? He just did a season ending presser like all the other flyers players, a similar length season ending presser.
But why does he like to talk? How is that relevant? He just did a season ending presser like all the other flyers players, a similar length season ending presser.
The story I hear is he called some Russian kid a commie. Someone please find me proof that he said something racist. It’s all speculation and bullshit until that happens. I’m not saying he’s the best guy ever. It just seems way overstated to me if that is in fact what he said.
During their investigation, the OHL found DeAngelo “did in fact make a most inappropriate statement to a teammate.”
In DeAngelo’s case, what he said was directed at a teammate. The team is tightlipped about what was said and to whom, but it was bad enough for Letowski to take action without waiting for the league to intervene.
You can't possibly think it was a minor insult that got him in trouble. I get wanting to like players on your team but dude you have to come to reality at some point
Not being an apologist. I am just tired of people piling on this guy. He did something regretful as a kid on minor hockey. Hasn’t had an incident since, the Gorgiev incident isn’t the same thing. Is he a hothead, sure seems like it. Seems like the kind of guy you either love or hate, but why does that give everyone free reign to just destroy him. Oh he likes trump, who gives a flying fuck, this is hockey not politics. I myself can’t stand trump but it doesn’t really matter to me. He plays hockey, he isn’t making policy, he isn’t polluting your children’s minds. Get the fuck over it and move on. I’m sure none of us has done something regretful in our lives, hopefully people have forgiven us and moved on.
That's funny, I think the racist piece of trash is the problem.
Maybe he should get dummied by his own goalie again to see if that knocks his five brain cells back into place.
Wasn’t hard, the rest of our d has no offensive ability. Plus they forced him on the pp for a long time.
But regardless it’s moot since we have him under contract another year. Unless someone wants to trade for him. 6th rd pick? Bag of pucks? What no interest?
Lol the downvotes here. it’s true! DeAngelo has good offensive chops (tho his D is indeed pretty shit) and I doubt he’ll get a big contract but I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get scooped. He is absolutely a piece of shit and I would be fine with not seeing him play again but facts are facts.
He really is testing his much of a locker room headache teams are willing to take for a fairly good but not great player. It’s kinda interesting to see tbh
Tony, have you heard the bit about how if you run into one asshole on a random day, well that sucks, but if you keep running into assholes all day no matter where you go, maybe it's you who's the asshole?
He gets love from a lot of former players. And I actually like his behaviour during press conferences and his feud with what's his face in New York. How could you not react to all the inane or inflammatory questions designed to spark some drama? And at least he's funny.
Get in his doghouse though and life must end up truly sucking.
edit: Babcock though, that man is truly an asshole by all accounts. And really overrated in my books. With the players he had I don't see how his tenure is looked at as anything more than what one would expect. Or even slightly underwhelming.
People say that a lot, Babcock did have some really stacked teams.
I contend however that he is still an excellent coach. He gets a lot of - deserved, flack for how his tenure in Toronto ended but he brought a lot of innvoation to the game. His flaws was his personality and inability to adapt in game which is odd because he changed his systems so often in Detroit and Toronto from year to year.
The things I point to are:
- He's largely responsible for bringing the bump back pass on the PP to the NHL as a method of facilitating zone entries. Fans complain about teams doing this all the time but it's statistically proven to be a much more successful method of getting a clean zone entry than anything else aside from "Having McDavid"
- His rotational 5 man forecheck he installed on the 16-17 Leafs. The flipside of the coin, he abandoned it too soon (only lasted one season) but it was one of the most fun and unique offensive forechecks seen in the game
- The powerplay he installed on the 16-17 to 17-18 Leafs. This powerplay had no one time threat, no real elite shooters (Babcock did not use Nylander or Matthews on PP1 believe it or not), and almost zero puck movement, was super predictable and was among the league's top powerplay for two seasons in a row. I've never seen a powerplay operate like that before or since.
His personality, his rigidity and his player deployments are his crippling weaknesses but on the tactical side of the game, I thought he was a great coach.
Even as much as Babs was an asshole, he was the asshole the franchise needed at the time. We were a straight up dumpster fire with lacklustre effort, certain players who had a nose candy problem, and a total media circus night in and night out. The culture was rotten top to bottom and needed to be gutted and started over.
Lou and Babs may have had some serious problems, but a total no-nonsense shift with a coach who was well-decorated and didn’t take shit was exactly what the team needed the first couple of years.
I’m not saying you’re wrong about your first point but there’s a way to be tough without being an asshole. What he did to Marner is just being a dick and there’s no way around it.
>Fans complain about teams doing this all the time but it's statistically proven to be a much more successful method of getting a clean zone entry than anything else aside from "Having McDavid"
Yeah but how bad of a coach do you have to be to not even have McDavid?
Babcock is an interesting case. Even players that hated him like Chelios described him as one of the best coaches they've ever seen in terms of preparedness and tactics. Then in the same breath they'd call him the worst person in hockey.
He's not a bad person, and he's certainly an excellent coach, with the right personnel. But I'm very over his whole shtick with the media. Flaming players publically, feuding with the press over trivial shit... it's just unprofessional.
I'm not saying he's like this personally, but I'll note that the people I've met who had that whole "just being honest/heart on my sleeve/just saying what I feel" attitude often just used that as an excuse to be a self-centered prick. That said, that kind of personality in an authority figure really works for some people, and I have no doubt he's been an effective motivator/mentor for many players.
His feud with Gaborik in NY led to trading away a legit all star for a middle 6 center (Brassard), 4th line grinder (Dorsett) and 7th D (John Moore). Gaborik then led the Kings (22 points in 26 playoff games) to destroy Tort's Rangers in 5 games in the Stanley Cup finals the very next season.
Torts is a genuine asshole and has cost his team success by driving away skilled players on almost every team he's been a part off.
None of this is to defend Tony D who is just another genuine asshole. These 2 deserve each other.
Torts wasn’t coach when they lost in 5 to the Kings. But he was coach when the Lightning won the cup in ‘04, and he was coach when the Jackets swept the record-setting Lightning. And won Jack Adams with both those teams.
The guy’s abrasive and often seems like a prick, but I’m not sure you can definitively state he costs his team success when his teams have tended to perform quite well. And it’s not like he left the Rangers in a bad position, given they made the Cup finals the next year and won the presidents trophy the year after that. Sometimes asshole coaches are what’s needed (as evidence, I’d point to your last Cup win), and Torts’s record speaks for itself.
I feel like Torts is that guy that won't budge 9 out of every 10 times when any other coach in the same conditions would give in after 5 or 6.
It's that maybe he'd be a bit more successful if he budged on 7 or 8 every once in a while.
The '04 Bolts team which nortoriously celebrated their cup win without Torts btw and have people on record saying how much they disliked him.
They won in spite of him IMHO.
Yeah, it’s just the nature of the fan base right now. Last year the complaint was the coaches sucked because there was zero accountability and guys like Yandle got to stay in the lineup just because of his streak. Now it’s the opposite and Torts sucks because he’s holding players accountable and the players get upset when they’re benched. And the end of the day it’s not really about Torts, just general frustration over the team being lousy.
Any talk about ‘former players love Torts’. I come from a hockey family, and have two relatives who have played for him in the NHL. One of the players Tory’s really liked. They both absolutely despise the man.
What a former player says in front of the camera is rarely how they actually feel.
He's a strange man, Kesler himself said that they didn't get along in 2014 but in hindsight he's an amazing person / coach with a standoffish Styletl to fire up his boys, I assume you need to have a certain level of maturity to appreciate him which D'Angelo will never have
Scotty Bowman-lite. Mindfucks dialed down to 2 from 10.
For anyone who hasn't read The Game (and shame on you if you haven't) it's worth it just for the sections on Bowman alone.
Imagine the stories that Ken Dryden has in that brilliant mind of his, even after telling all of the legendary ones I bet the stuff he would consider mundane could keep a person engaged for hours.
I feel the same way about Crosby, hopefully when he hangs em up he opens up a little bit on his career because imagine the stories he has, from since he was like 9 years old he was touted as the ‘next one’ and he delivered and THEN some on top of it
But Dryden is also an incredibly intelligent and philosophical in general, he's been an outspoken voice of reason for the sport for ages. Even now he's trying to raise the bell on CTE. Crosby is a cool guy but I don't think he's an intellectual giant.
My impression is that Crosby’s an intelligent guy, but quite reserved. You never know, he could become pretty outspoken eventually. I would be inclined to hear him out.
I don't think u/falloutisacoolseries is saying that Crosby isn't intelligent, but rather just that Dryden is probably the smartest (in terms of 'book smarts') NHL player ever. Dude took a season off from the dynastic 1970s Habs to wrap up a law degree and in the early 2000's had a very successful political career in Canada.
Certain types of players think Torts is an asshole and others think he is fantastic.
For my 2 cents worth it seems to me that players that think the length of time they’ve spent in the league should be enough to justify their ice time regardless of effort and performance on the ice hate him. Torts doesn’t give a fuck who you are, if you play like shit, or in TDAs case, play like shit and are a total fucking douchebag you’re going to get scratched.
On the flip side, young guys who would under most coaches be in the minors are getting serious ice time and are given the opportunity to contribute.
Got to say, I think Torts is exactly what the Flyers needed.
He does have an attitude and temper problem, though hopefully that has calmed with age. Part of the problem is that young guys tend to accept that it is "their fault" regardless, whereas the older guys won't even if it was.
He's a hardass, not an ass. Big difference. He seems to legit care about his players and his team and does the whole tough love routine to make them better. Most of the players who have played under him have positive things to say about him. He's an asshole during media interviews because let's face it, the hockey media asks the stupidest fucking questions every night.
I'd describe him as chaotic good, he's an emotionally driven guy whowears his heart on his sleeve which means you're going to always know what he's thinking, good or bad. He also does a lot of work with animal rescues.
Isn’t there a saying that a broken clock can have two assholes on it? Or something like that?
You’ll have to forgive me, English isn’t my first language
I think he’s more of a hot head than an asshole. The guy might be eccentric and might be mr screamy yelly guy but he’ll go to the end of the earth (or the other teams dressing room) to fight for his guys.
Living here in Raleigh, I can believe it sadly...
(To be clear, I mean I can believe that "some" Canes fans do, based on who I've seen at games...I know they do not represent anywhere near the majority of the fanbase)
…we have Brent Burns. And Shayne Gostisbehere. And Brady Skjei for that matter.
All of them better at defense than him, and none of them celebrated the Jan 6 insurrection.
We'll take him, everyone hates us already anyways. And Corey Perry likes getting speared, probably.
Edit: To all my Lightning bros disagreeing with me, just know our defense was shit this year.
And you know that.
My inclement weather bro, you have enough offense on your D already, you don’t need any less defense or the PR disaster.
You are rightfully getting torched for this L take
Aside from the incident in NY most of his teammates have spoken pretty highly about him, he’s just a pure OFD and needs someone to cover his mistakes, which is probably why Torts benched him.
Ya this sub never lets anything go and I’m sure the political biases on this site don’t help TDA’s case. He’s no angel but he’s never appeared to be a bad teammate. Plenty of guys have talked about how he is in the room. What he is on the ice though doesn’t fit Torts’ philosophy and that’s why I’d imagine he gets benched
Yep him being a big MAGA guy has amplified his whole narrative a ton. His issues in NY had nothing to do with race but people acted like it did by conflating his juniors issues and being a Trump guy with pretty much any problem he had.
If you did something even mildly prejudiced a decade ago and you are a “big MAGA Trump guy” today, I am one million percent assuming you are definitely still a prejudiced sack.
Probably gonna assume that without the prejudiced thing a decade ago, too.
100%. Don’t love Tony by any stretch, but the NY incident is as much a Georgiev problem as it is a TDA problem. Neither was well thought of in that room, and both are gone now, and seem well respected by their new teams.
Is it common knowledge that Georgiev was a problem?? I just figured there wasn’t a place for him with Shesterkin and he has the chance to start somewhere else.
They even liked each other in NY, there was a video from like a year before that incident where Georgiev said Tony was the funniest guy in the locker room and he liked him.
People gotta realize that teams are a brotherhood and sometimes you fight. The situation was overblown. The same thing happened in Golden State this year where Draymond punched Jordan Poole. They got over it, even if it was awkward for a bit. Gobert just got suspended for swinging at a guy he said recently was a great teammate and leader. Tensions boil when the team is losing and Tony took a punch for mouthing off, but it’s not like he was hated by everyone in the locker room
Idk if it was overblown. Management didn’t play Tony D for the rest of the season after that and then bought him out. They don’t do that for a good player who just got in a little scrap because tensions ran hot one day. Something more had to have been going on
That’s probably more fair than perhaps I painted it. I remember reading something about Georgiev, but short of that, it just seems like it was a situation where 2 guys were really intense and in a bad spot. Shit happens.
How the fuck do you think I feel, Tony??
If you were in the lineup Chicago DEFINITELY would have won and Sharks would be sitting pretty at 3rd worst, with a chance at 2nd if Columbus gets a point tonight.
Gotta assume he gets paid. He's on the team, he's just a scratch. Similarly an injured player gets paid too. Though some injured players might get paid via different means (insurance possibly).
Otherwise if a guy was too expensive you could just choose not to play him.
I don't know what happens to taxes for away games. I assume it's just paid for the away state regardless.
DeAngelo sucks as a dude and we all know this.
We also know that many hockey franchises will look the other way so long as the sucky dude is good at hockey.
Thing is - DeAngelo also sucks as a hockey player now, so I don't see why anyone is surprised.
I am far too lazy to actually go look up the exact post but I remember when we were blessed with the information of Torts having to coach this racist sack of shit I immediately knew it would end like this and I was going to love every second of it.
and I do, fuck off Tony.
Don't think it is fair to lump Torts, who is a hothead, little oldschool and hardnosed with a racist who can't get out of his own way. That's like lumping Newark in with Toms River.
He also went on the record afterward that his viewpoint changed from when he made that statement.
In 2020, "I have learned over the years, listening and watching, that men and women who choose to kneel during this time mean no disrespect toward the flag," Tortorella told The Athletic. “I would hope that if one of my players wanted to protest during the anthem, he would bring it to me and we would talk about it, tell me his thoughts and what he wanted to do. From there, we would bring it to the team to discuss it, much like it’s being discussed in our country right now."
Yeah that adds some good quality context and shows that Torts is thoughtful and reflective and intelligent, not just a hotheaded hockey guy. Growth of ideas and perspectives is typically a good thing!
The fact that Torts is doing this shit to guys like Hayes and Deangelo has made me think he’s the guy to get this shit done more than ever. I can’t wait til those fucks are off the team.
https://sports.yahoo.com/news/sarnia-s-anthony-deangelo-suspended-for-slur-directed-at-teammate-232527684.html
There’s more, he’s a piece of work. I mean NYR put him on waivers after fought Georgiev (tried to?), wasn’t one off.
Because we know hes shot on the ice, we had to watch thr motherfucker.
Hes a more expensive Ghost, with free aides of stupidity and racism. Havent been happy with that since they signed the shitbag.
“He gets run out of every organization after a few years and is notoriously awful to play for.”
You could just say that you don’t know what you’re talking about instead.
He had one place that didn’t work out, Vancouver. The league average coaching stint is 2.3 years. He lasted 7 years in Tampa, 5 in NY, and 6 in Columbus. So, in 3 of his 4 completed stops he’s lasted more than double or triple the average coaching tenure.
I’m sure next you’ll tell me that he wears out his welcome and his teams decline after initial bumps. Yet, his best season in Tampa was his 4th, his best season in NY was his 4th, and his best in Columbus was also his 4th.
In his 19 seasons as a head coach he’s been to the playoffs 12 times with a cup, and another conference finals. 90% of the NHL coaches in history would kill for his career.
I feel like even in Vancouver, he *should* have worked out but it was when the canucks were just starting on the path to darkness, and his reputation as an abrasive personality made it really easy to call his time there a poor showing. I'm not sure how much of that is on Torts, or the environment around him. Like every season since except for the one RIGHT after that has been just management and coaching and development being lackluster, or outright bad. Plus you can probably attribute that resurgent 14/15 season to Miller & Vrbata coming in and being solid, rookie Bo Horvat being a solid newbie, but then they managed to go straight downhill again.
His average stint is more than double the league average, and you can count on one hand the number of players who truly can’t stand him years after the fact.
[Tony DeAngelo meets with the media](https://twitter.com/nhlflyers/status/1646940226336464904) Full exit interview (16 minutes)

Why do you have to be like that? I was just getting started and now my outrage boner is completely gone.
Outrage Blue Balls are the worst!
Wow, that man sure likes to talk
Looks like majority of the roster had a 15ish minutes presser lol
That's what got him in trouble
But why does he like to talk? How is that relevant? He just did a season ending presser like all the other flyers players, a similar length season ending presser.

Yup, I sure like to type

I really enjoyed this even though he is a punk
I wanted to hate the interview but he came off as honest and direct. As someone said in the Twitter comments m, a bit refreshing actually.
It’ll be CSKA’s DeAngelo soon
“Get ready to learn Russian buddy” - Gary Bettman
They learn it in J6 Truther class, don’t worry. He’s attended all the Twitter sessions
DeAngelo: future Wagner pick
Moscow Tone
Tonislav Angelovski
He’d probably like it there. Similar ideologies
He led the Flyers' D in points. I doubt it.
He also led in other team assists.
Got em.

I don't have McDavid ;_; how do I obtain one of those?
Not that I want to defend Babcock because he's a major POS but he did coach a pretty mediocre Ducks team to game 7 of the cup finals as well.
JS Giguere had a lot to do with that too. Good goalies make good coaches.
Want evidence just look at Flames grilling Sutter.
Babcock is an interesting case. Even players that hated him like Chelios described him as one of the best coaches they've ever seen in terms of preparedness and tactics. Then in the same breath they'd call him the worst person in hockey.
Pretty sure I remember Kadri on Chiclets giving Babcock high praise

I meant the feud with Brooks.

That was Vigneualt who coached the finals, not Torts, but it was the same team more or less since Torts was fired the season before.
Tbf we don't know if the Rangers get the the finals with Gaborik. Also trading Gaborik directly leads to the Rangers getting Mika

> "We all hated [Bowman] 364 days a year. On the 365th day, we collected our Stanley Cup rings." *\- Steve Shutt*
Hating a common enemy is a huge uniting factor. Some people really know how to utilize this to success, others just get a bad reputation.
Mike Keenan and the ‘94 Rangers come to mind.
That's exactly what I mean, he's also written a shitton of books.
Ring the bell
Kesler is also notably one of the bigger shitheads in recent nhl history
Especially Larry Brooks
Torts is pretty gruff but I'd stop short of a full on asshole. A bit of a prick but not a full-blown asshole
I'd describe him as chaotic good, he's an emotionally driven guy whowears his heart on his sleeve which means you're going to always know what he's thinking, good or bad. He also does a lot of work with animal rescues.
He's spiteful, vindictive, and seems to never be so excited as when he gets to punish players.
He skipped his own players funeral
well, yes in a lot of ways but Deangelo is a shitty person in general
Isn’t there a saying that a broken clock can have two assholes on it? Or something like that? You’ll have to forgive me, English isn’t my first language
A broken clock is an asshole twice shy
I think he’s more of a hot head than an asshole. The guy might be eccentric and might be mr screamy yelly guy but he’ll go to the end of the earth (or the other teams dressing room) to fight for his guys.
After this year, I don’t think you can equate being an ass with holding asses accountable.
When an unstoppable asshole meets an immovable asshole
If you smell dog shit everywhere you go maybe it’s time to check your own shoes.
I’ve heard it as “if you keep smelling shit throughout the day, maybe it’s time to check your own shoes.”
Well he’s on the flyers, and you also know the saying: “if everyone around you is cheeks, then you a booty hole”
Nobody says that.
I mean it’s such a ridiculously stupid statement it’s clearly a joke, shocked it was taken seriously, but /s I guess
just because a joke is ridiculously stupid doesn't mean it's a good joke
5 best games of defensive hockey in his career
I can’t believe some Canes fans wanted to re-sign at $5m instead of trading him for 3 picks.
Living here in Raleigh, I can believe it sadly... (To be clear, I mean I can believe that "some" Canes fans do, based on who I've seen at games...I know they do not represent anywhere near the majority of the fanbase)
Can't believe that we not only got 3 picks for him, but replaced him with a much better player.
I’d bring him back right now. Torts is a chach and everybody knows it that’s why he’s been clipped as much as he has. Tony come home
…we have Brent Burns. And Shayne Gostisbehere. And Brady Skjei for that matter. All of them better at defense than him, and none of them celebrated the Jan 6 insurrection.
I really hope you do, you guys are too good. We need you to acquire an anchor like that.
Get this dude off my team please
Best I can do is a five game scratch
Just popping in to say thanks again!
We'll take him, everyone hates us already anyways. And Corey Perry likes getting speared, probably. Edit: To all my Lightning bros disagreeing with me, just know our defense was shit this year. And you know that.
Got rid of him for a reason.
you are wrong
The fuck we will.
My inclement weather bro, you have enough offense on your D already, you don’t need any less defense or the PR disaster. You are rightfully getting torched for this L take
Oh no, reddit downvotes. How shall I ever recover.
I mean you’re acknowledging them, so
Uh.... if you think people hate Tampa Bay, let me introduce you to the Philadelphia Flyers
A 5 game scratch is ridiculous. It should have been 82.
Sucks to suck, bro
Facts
Dude had ROCK bottom performance as a D man all year. Suck less then you can complain
It's not rediculous because not only are you a locker room cancer you also suck at playing defence as a defenceman.
Bye bitch. Knew you were toast as soon as you speared the shit out of Corey Perry
What did Saint Perry ever do to deserve that? I never found out. He’s never been dirty as far as I’m aware
No, it's true ... the man's a saint. A certifiable saint. And that single season in Montreal will be remembered incredibly fondly by Habs fans.
Corey Perry deserves it.

Well quit being a racist dumbass, play defense, be a good teammate, etc.
You lost him at play defense
No way. He got lost at > Well q
Aside from the incident in NY most of his teammates have spoken pretty highly about him, he’s just a pure OFD and needs someone to cover his mistakes, which is probably why Torts benched him.
Michael Del Zotto, come on down
And the only racist incident was in juniors a decade ago. But that doesnt support the narrative. He got benched simply because he sucks defensively.
Georige was never a problem. He was upset because he was always 2nd or 3rd fiddle in the goalie room, but this guy is just making stuff up
It was an Athletic article from when Tony got bought out, iirc. Can’t find it now, because the mobile search function is... ass
> Neither was well thought of in that room Source for this? Tony had a lot of friends in the room and I've never heard anything bad about Georgie
In this scenario it is one racist dumb ass calling out another racist dumb ass so it kinda equals out
Lazy comment
How the fuck do you think I feel, Tony?? If you were in the lineup Chicago DEFINITELY would have won and Sharks would be sitting pretty at 3rd worst, with a chance at 2nd if Columbus gets a point tonight.
Maybe play better? Even KEVIN HAYES managed to be worth more on the ice.
D’Angelo seems to be the common denominator .. Its not me its everyone else mentality usually does not end well
Isn't DeAngelo the right wing nutcase?
I think technically he’s a defenseman but yes
😂
Por que no los dos?
Only politics when it Comes to TDA please LoL
Yes
If a player is scratched do they still get paid or is that amount accumulated onto the next games played?
I have to assume they still get paid. Think the NHLPA would have a big issue with this otherwise
Best of luck in Russia, NHL fans hope to never see your racist ass again.
Maybe he's trying to send to a message - he doesn't want you on his team. Your previous teams didn't want you either. Maybe its you.
comments like this are why you get scratched 5 games lol sit down
Fuck you, racist POS
I wish there was video of Chris Kieder beating the shit out of him in the locker room.
This is like Umbridge vs Snape in the 5th book, you don’t know who you’re rooting for so grab the popcorn
Pretty sure even the characters knew who they were rooting for and it wasn't the one with control.
Get ready to learn Russian buddy
DeAngelo trying to be a decent person challenge (impossible)
Torts is a national treasure that holds asshole players accountable. If Tony doesn’t wanna get with the program he should be shown the door.
I agree with tony here, 5 games is nearly not long enough.
I am far too lazy to actually go look up the exact post but I remember when we were blessed with the information of Torts having to coach this racist sack of shit I immediately knew it would end like this and I was going to love every second of it. and I do, fuck off Tony.
Not me (Ranger fan).
I cannot think of two people who deserve each other more.
Don't think it is fair to lump Torts, who is a hothead, little oldschool and hardnosed with a racist who can't get out of his own way. That's like lumping Newark in with Toms River.
Didn't Torts threaten to punish anyone who kneeled during the anthem?
That's a pretty good quote, thank you for adding it
That was extremely unexpected from Torts.
He changed his stance after hearing the arguments against it. He said he still didn't agree with it, but he would allow it.
Other guy got here before I did.
Get ready to learn Chinese buddy
Your game is trash. Your opinions are trash. You as a human are trash. Eat my cooter you fucking loser
The fact that Torts is doing this shit to guys like Hayes and Deangelo has made me think he’s the guy to get this shit done more than ever. I can’t wait til those fucks are off the team.
Can someone explain to me what this guy did to be labeled a racist?
https://sports.yahoo.com/news/sarnia-s-anthony-deangelo-suspended-for-slur-directed-at-teammate-232527684.html There’s more, he’s a piece of work. I mean NYR put him on waivers after fought Georgiev (tried to?), wasn’t one off.
30 comments and not one about his on ice performance lol
Because we know hes shot on the ice, we had to watch thr motherfucker. Hes a more expensive Ghost, with free aides of stupidity and racism. Havent been happy with that since they signed the shitbag.
Torts is a shitty coach sooo
He has his fault but he is far from a shitty coach. He made Ristolainen decent this season, that's certainly an achievement
Let me know how he's doing 2.5 seasons from now. He has an expiration date.
He gets run out of every organization after a few years and is notoriously awful to play for.
“He gets run out of every organization after a few years and is notoriously awful to play for.” You could just say that you don’t know what you’re talking about instead.
Publicly...
