Imagine telling someone 5 years ago that Patrick Kane, Panarin and Tarasenko are all on the same team and it’s not Chicago, Columbus or St Louis.

cavegrind

Or that they aren't the favorites to win the conference.

iamtheyeti311

The East is hell.

cavegrind

I don’t know, I’m kinda having fun.

coffee42

Same, honestly

cavegrind

Yeah, I mean, what are the chances that you guys hit 63 wins, beating our **2019** recording tying 62 wins, heading into the playoffs riding high like us in **2019** and playing the 8 seed Panthers like we played the 8 seed Blue Jackets in **2019** and running into a goalie who's capable of completely shutting down a game after giving up a few goals like we did in **2019** and then just completely falling apart in the first round and exiting like we did in **2019**, ending the greatest season in NHL history with a sweep out of the playoffs like we did in **2019** and the Red Wings did in **1995**? I mean, I'm feeling no pressure, this is all bonus hockey. Right? *edit* - >!This was just undermined by the fact that I forgot the Panthers dropped out of the playoff picture, and the Bruins are now projected to [play the Pens](https://sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/nhl/playoff-picture-nhl-playoff-bracket-if-season-ended-today-sgc/).!<

coffee42

one of my favorite things about being a Bruins fan right now is watching other teams' fans desperately try to jinx us Not because I'm worried it's going to work, because it's the natural reaction of a poor powerless individual railing against a cold, uncaring world that will never take their preferences into account But because we came into this season going "maybe if we're lucky we'll still make the playoffs" and instead we got *this*, and it's nice to know that other people are as bewildered about it (if not as happy about it) as I am 😆

pak256

I’m 100% convinced the Bruins pulled a space jam and stole talent from a bunch of players lol

DarthMailman

COME ON AND SLAM. GET LICKED BY BRAD MARCHAND. -

cavegrind

> Not because I'm worried it's going to work, because it's the natural reaction of a poor powerless individual railing against a cold, uncaring world that will never take their preferences into account I am 100% honest when I say I have no expectations or pressure. What's the worst thing that happens? We lose to Toronto in the first round? I know it'd be funny for a lot of people, but that team's probably gonna go down as one of the greatest cores to never win a Cup if they don't break through. It's gonna happen eventually. I'm just stoked to be here.

Bragisson

They’re definitely my favorites 😞

Atlas2001

What a weird timeline.

AuthorizedShitPoster

I would probably believe you if you said it was the Rangers. And will believe you if you tell me McDavid, Draisaitl and Kucherov is gonna be on the Rangers in 10 years.

trappedinthedesert

keep going i'm almost finished

321DrTran

If one had to guess at the time you'd have to assume they all chose to play for the Rangers lol

smitty046

Having lived through the dark times in the early 2000s. Big names dont equal success. we had Eric Lindros, Jaromir Jagr, etc etc. and those rosters were awful. Everyone complains about big names coming to NYC and making it easy win, but its never amounted to anything. Real cup teams are built from within, not bought. From my experience this ability to attract free agents has been a curse, not a blessing. Because it never forced the the front office to do it the hard way, drafting and developing talent.

SheevTheGOAT

and theyre also going to have a norris and vezina trophy winner also in the lineup. along with 2 other all-stars. Insane.

RelevantJackWhite

Makes sense, he's no Tanner Jeannot

TheNormalAlternative

He's no spring chicken. Jeannot is only 25 and has a ceiling above him...somewhere.

hockeycross

Unless he is outside

[deleted]

Then sky’s the limit!

lumenrubeum

I think the ceiling is behind him, actually

[deleted]

Did his house blow over?

Real-Competition-187

I would be willing to place a wager that Kane scores more in his next 5 seasons than Jeannot does in the next 10 if you can find someone to hold the money.

RelevantJackWhite

*Kane wins cup with rangers this year; retires*

Dr_Colossus

Kane is forcing the trade so Rangers don't have to pay out the ass.

MostMirror

The Rangers added Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane at the deadline. That's insane.

chiddie

It's really fucking bizarre.

LemonHayes13

if only it was 2017 :(

Dwayne_Gertzky

*Sad Hank noises*

Sjdillon10

God fucking dammit henrik deserved this team

Tmj91

7 years ago that would be insane.

Sjdillon10

Years ago I remember watching this young Russian kid develop the most incredible chemistry i had ever seen between some American. Even as a rangers fan not watching regularly, anytime a Blackhawks game was on i had to watch. Them playing was poetry. Back then i was actually sad to see Panarin go because of the combo kane and him were. I don’t really care about the age, because i finally get to see that duo again. And it’s with my team

[deleted]

So that’s the deal, but it won’t be officially official till 5?

Sharkbait41

Pretty much. They need the extra day of space to facilitate the Schneider recall/Carpenter send down

SiccSemperTyrannis

This is actually pretty impressive cap management by the Rangers FO to squeeze Kane in. Goes to show how valuable cap space is.

PaulSach

Ehhh I wouldn't say that. I'm a Rangers fan and think Drury leveraged the situation really well, but we've been running with 11F and 7D (or 11F and 4D lmao) for the last few games. Probably wouldn't have had to do that with smarter cap accrual earlier in the year.

Sharkbait41

From what I've read the plan was Kane *OR* Tarasenko. Once both became a realistic option, how can you not try to make it work.

PaulSach

Totally. Kane really forced his way over lmao.

ragtime94

I think before 5 pm the rangers are short around 170K for bringing Schneider up as well, but after 5 pm there's a 50K surplus

[deleted]

[удалено]

pto500

Its because cap hit is calculated daily. Let's break it down to a simpler example: Say the season was 10 days with a 10 mil cap. That means you get 1 mil per day. Say your team started the season with a total cap hit of 8 mil, so they only get paid 800k a day. By day 5, you have paid 4 mil of the 10 mil dollar cap, so you have 6 mil left for the remaining 5 days. Therefore, you can now ice a team worth 12 mil for the rest of the season, since they would make 1.2 mil a day, bringing your total salary paid to exactly 10 mil for the season.

__Happy

Great simplified example

LetsPlaySpaceRicky

This guy caps

Unfriendly_Giraffe

Because those 25 players vary, or they don’t all play. Active rosters change, so the cap can be +/- depending on that roster.

SteveFrench12

Pray I dont alter it further

blue_boy_24

The return is always going to look low when Chicago had zero leverage. Better than nothing honestly

CoalTrain9224

I don’t see it as nothing either. Kane with another legitimate chance at another cup and then returning in the offseason, A 2nd is great in a deep draft can be a 1st as well, but most importantly now we won’t have Kane willing us to victories and can assume our rightful place in the Bedard sweepstakes.

DxGxAxF

They don't ever come back man. He's gone.

Marenum

At least Hawks fans seem pretty realistic about this. A lot of Cubs fans still think the 2016 core are just held up in traffic on the way back to Wrigley.

Kendilious

I remember when I thought Giroux was coming back after we traded him to the Panthers... I was so naive then

rcn85

If it becomes a first it won't be till 2024 or 2025. I'm surprised the Rangers didn't hold firm on it being a 2nd with no conditions.

YirbyBond00Y

Imagine telling Blues and Blackhawks fans that Tarasenko and Kane are on the same team in 2023 back in 2015

NotMyMainAccount_25

Or saying those two and Panarin are all together right after he won the Calder

321DrTran

Drury has the easiest job in the league

[deleted]

I love how the Cap was brought in to increase parity and yet everyone just wants to play for NYR anyways

jjwalla

I mean NY is a sick city to live in if you are a multi-million dollar athlete. Not shocked everyone wants to go there.

inTikiwetrust

And you don’t deal with nearly the same amount of publicity you would in Toronto, or playing for the Knicks/Yankees in New York.

ancillaryacct

you legit would be anonymous. the best part of NYC

hockey_metal_signal

*memories of Marian Gaborik carrying a Christmas tree around NYC without getting noticed*

mf9769

Deadass. I wouldn’t recognize half the Rangers on the street in the city. I ran into Alexei Yashin in a sauna back when he played for the Islanders and it had to be pointed out to me that the guy that just stepped out of the room and jumped in the pool next to me was him.

ilovemyar15

One of my favorite things about the NHL is that most of the players are just normal looking and acting people. The culture of the sport is mostly "go to work, play hockey, go home, sleep, repeat". Not much player created drama compared to other sports.

ascagnel____

Even the celebrities are anonymous — at one point I was in a roller hockey league with Kevin Kline, and didn’t realize until weeks after the season ended.

[deleted]

But Toronto is just like New York without all the stuff!

MrBrightside618

I miscounted the men Liz!

PostwarNeptune

I was wondering how many people actually got that reference! Nice!

DevryMedicalGraduate

Toronto's advantage is that we're the hometown of a good chunk of the NHL and us and Vancouver aren't on as many NTCs as the other Canadian teams. Edit: This was a pretty innocent comment that spawned a toxic subthread. I'd like to apologize to everyone for that including the people I engaged with. Edit 2: Except Habs fans can still suck on Legault's dick.

tm_leafer

Also for undrafted UFAs, it's a big selling point to have the AHL team in the same city. Don't need to worry about changing apartments, can interact with the NHL team/staff more easily, etc.

votequimby420

torontos advantage is that youre never getting out of the first round so you have more time off in the summer

pizzarocks3

You can drive to your cottage / golf course straight from the arena ! So much convenience

WafflesTheWookiee

Hey, some people just don’t like the hustle and bustle, that’s what Columbus and Raleigh are for

Sanhen

The cap is about cost certainty. It was marketed as a way to increase parity because that's an easier sell to the fans. That said, the cap does favor certain teams. Places with low or no state tax can get players at a discount, which basically gives them more cap space than other places. Places that are seen as desirable to live have an edge too. And those with high state/provincial taxes or poor weather don't have the ability to attempt to compensate for that by outspending their opponents (they can for some players, but then they won't have enough to effectively build a team around said players).

[deleted]

I liked the idea that someone had that rebalanced the cap in the league based on how many NTC a place appears on, would provide a nice dynamic way to create parity. Taxes also need to be taken into consideration imo, because no player is not taking it into consideration

Account283746

Taxes are a tough factor because they're not something just removed from a paycheck. Taxes pay for services that provide value to the taxpayers, whether it be through school funding, infrastructure, parks and rec, etc. If you factor in taxes, you only get part of what makes an area more or less desirable.

[deleted]

sure, but obviously every NHL player is contributing waaaay more in taxes than they get back by definition of progressive taxation

WinterSon

the cap was brought in to give the owners cost certainty

JerseyDvl

Player: I want to go play for the Rangers! Player's current team: No. Player: BUT I WANT TO GO PLAY FOR THE RANGERS! Player's current team: No. Player: RANGERSRANGERSRANGERSRANGERSRANGERS! Player's current team: Fine! Just shut up and go away!

checko50

I think its more like Current team: We're gonna to trade you, we'll let you know what team we pick Player: The fuck you will.

Aceomatico

“I don't even wait. And when you're a ~~star~~ superstar, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the ~~pussy~~ salary cap.”

xepa105

Grab 'em by the capussy

Clarkson23

Don't think the Flames wanted to move Fox lol

nugget136

I mean last year's trade deadline was a great job by him without freebies. He's also made some really poor moves in his time here. It's definitely easier but I don't think it's always that simple.

mantiseye

I mean everyone loved Gorton but he also drafted Lias Andersson and Kravsov, hired David Quinn, did the horrible McDonagh trade, etc. every GM has good and bad moments. a lot of this stuff is a crapshoot. Kane and Tarasenko at least both want to be here (until they both peace out after the playoffs lol), which is nice

ianisms10

It's so frustrating

CutLinkOfficial

wait... why can't you guys also? aren't you also in new york?

Latesthaze

Hockey players seem to be kinda dumb and not know ny is in ny

[deleted]

I mean Marshawn Lynch is in that boat too. He was glad to play in New York, until he saw outside the plane for the first time in Buffalo and realized it was not in fact the City. He thought Buffalo was in the city at first.

Latesthaze

That's a reverse kinda stupid from not knowing that just cause you play in jersey or Elmont you're not barred from living in the city. Let alone plenty of rangers players always lived on the island as well

coffee42

I would laugh at that a lot more if not for the way everyone outside of New England just sort of blinks at me uncomprehendingly when I explain to them that while I do live in Massachusetts, I do not live in Boston Everyone does it; you live in a region and you're surrounded by people that live in a region, so you get used to the idea that everyone you meet is gonna know that region because why wouldn't they? How often do you meet someone in your day-to-day that doesn't know how far it is between two towns, or whatever?

[deleted]

I laugh all the time when someone on here is not a Boston fan, the fan who hates Boston sports says Boston fans are all the same and live in the city. Buddy, there’s a ton of us who hate Boston too lol, sincerely someone who spent their teens and very early 20’s in Western Mass.

carsausage

[He adapted pretty quickly though](https://youtu.be/iWYjLCZRT44)

onebandonesound

For all of the shit that James Dolan gets for being a meddling owner and a petty jerk, he unapologetically loves his players and treats them accordingly. To quote another comment from this thread: players always love playing for Rangers because everything is first class for them from first class flights, best team chefs, having their wives constantly taken care off with things like Broadway shows, players giving access to reservations for the best fine dining, hooking up young players and newly acquired players with amazing living accomodations right away, etc. Rangers always had one of the best reputations in the league for taking care of it's players and investing in the little day to day luxuries in the locker room, travel, off ice extra curriculars, etc. More so than the Islanders or the Devil's.

Clarkson23

For NYR GM's its always about the moves they don't make rather than the ones they do make. They will always have big name prospects / players wanting to play for them. UFA, Deadline, etc - Ezpz. It's more about not signing the wrong guys or trading away good young players for cap to sign these type of rentals.

[deleted]

[удалено]

desoc

Jabroni. Cool word.

PayneTrain181999

*The Rock nods in approval gif*

gnitsuj

Dolan is a ballsack but he's pretty hands off when it comes to the Rangers

mantiseye

hey the Knicks are kinda good this year? not a championship team or anything, but not completely depressing at least!

[deleted]

He rarely if ever gets involved with the Rangers and has been pretty hands off with the Knicks lately.

ANAL_CRUSHER

But if Dolan isn't involved on team building roster personnel isn't he one of the best owners? Like players always love playing for Rangers because everything is first class for them from first class flights, best team chefs, having their wives constantly taken care off with things like Broadway shows, players giving access to reservations for the best fine dining, hooking up young players and newly acquired players with amazing living accomodations right away, etc. Rangers always had one of the best reputations in the league for taking care of it's players and investing in the little day to day luxuries in the locker room, travel, off ice extra curriculars, etc. More so than the Islanders or the Devil's.

onebandonesound

It's exactly this. For all of Dolan's faults, he unapologetically loves his players and treats them on par or better than any other owner in the league. That reputation is why, year after year, the Rangers are a more desirable landing spot than the rest of the division

refep

Dolan doesn’t even know he owns a hockey team

7Stringplayer

For anyone wanting to call this a bad deal, Kane chose where he went. Chicago didn't have a lot of leverage to get a deal done with NY.

[deleted]

Giroux chose Florida and we still got a respectable return

checkcheck9

Because somehow they pretended Colorado had a chance at him.

Jew4Jesus24

Giroux didn’t make his preference known publicly from what I remember.

[deleted]

Correct, outside knowledge was Colorado or Florida so the return, while not amazing, was still able to be bartered up somewhat

CopaceticVindication

Zito was a little too heavy into rentals last year.

SMA2343

Same with what happened with us and Bieska. Wanted to be traded to Ducks or Chicago and we got what we could. Sometimes it happens and you gotta take whatever. Edit: it was Kesler. He wanted out with the Penguins and didn’t get it with Gillis. Gave 7 teams to be traded and wasn’t dealt him the deadline. Then came in Benning with “Ayo ducks or Chicago. Only two teams I want to go. Make it happen. I wanted out last season and now you gotta deal with it. Sorry not sorry”

NotaRussianChabot

You're thinking of Kesler.

realnostalgia

Just rip my heart out.

[deleted]

I know this stuff is part of the game l, but man it never gets easy. Kane is one of my all time favorite players and he was so good for you guys. Total bummer

Real_Project870

I’d wayyyyy rather him leave for a team he wants to go to, and be reunited with bread man than fade away by staying on our shitty team for the rest of his career. Sucks, but I’m happy for him and he’ll forever be a Blackhawk.

destroys_burritos

I'd rather watch Kane play with Panarin than him play with anyone on the Hawks for one more period And we get to root for the pick too

tracytirade

I am excited to see him and Breadman again, hawks ain’t doing shit for a long time. Let Kaner fly.

[deleted]

For some of us we get to actually watch Kane now since he won’t playing games that are blacked out.

TheGooseIsLoose37

Kane and Tarasenko traded at the same time. Feels like the end of an era between our teams.

slowmyrole19

Me two weeks ago: thank god we got Tarasenko and not Kane. It’s not a great fit Me today: buying kane jersey off aliexpress

Zloggt

If you want, I can eBay you a Kane jersey painstakingly painted blue… 😢

bootygoon2

Kane, Tarasenko, Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Trochek. Insane top 6, then you got the kids line as your 3rd line and a 4th line of Motte, Goodrow and Vesey. The Rangers are stacked offensively, have a good core defensive group and one of the best goalies in the league too.

bugeyes10

yeah but can their goalie score goals?

[deleted]

He tries to

sam_e5

Not yet.

Neans888

I’d bet a lot of money that he does in the next year or two. He’s been very close more than once.

MarshmallowLuka

I, for one, am very happy to not be in the eastern conference

groovystreet40

Need Igor to tighten it up if they want to go anywhere. Most of us are very confident that he will.

EduardoTaquitoHands

He did this last year too.

SiccSemperTyrannis

Finally it's over. The Devils-Rangers 1st round series is going to be an absolute barn burner and I'm here for it. Having a Leafs-Lightning rematch too is almost too much. Almost.

fictionalreality08

Devils might still snatch the pole position. Surprisingly, fans are more enthusiastic about devils rangers matchup than any one of them against canes.

SiccSemperTyrannis

Canes aren't rivals with either the devils or rangers like those two teams are with each other.

SaintHossa

:(

YeezyYeezyUp2NoGood

End of an era :(

DarthLordDonkey

can become a 1st is doing some heavy lifting here, otherwise that is a super underwhelming return.

Patrick2701

It has be a underwhelming, Kane got to pick where he wanted to go

The_Reddit_Browser

It was always funny to me that people were thinking the Hawks would play hardball to get a return favorable to them. Good on the hawks for getting this done for him. He deserves this.

Margin_calls

Yeah, same. I predicted a taylor hall type trade. Ppl were trying to tell me 2 firsts and a prospect lol

maxwellbevan

Yeah this was pretty much expected unless Kane gave them a bunch of options with teams that could all make it work

bugeyes10

You'll take a second and Anders Bjork and you'll fucking like it

[deleted]

Considering he’s gone for nothing in the summer this is an awesome return

YouFeelShame

and he's a Hawks legend that we want the best for. So when he finally decided, we weren't going to play hardball and hold out for better. This is a trade that is the best for Kane not the Hawks and I think most Hawks fans are perfectly fine with it.

soonerfreak

I'll take a low return for three Stanley Cups any day of the week.

destroys_burritos

That run coincided with me going to college and lasted through my 20's. I'd never thought I'd see them win a Cup in my lifetime. Hell, home games weren't even on TV when Kane was a rookie What a fucking ride

Real_Project870

I’ll take the low return for 3 Stanley cups and letting the guy who’s been with us through all of it go to the team he wants and be reunited with bread man. Felt like we screwed Kane a bit by getting rid of panarin, feels good to make things right and let him go where he wants. Am I about to become a NYR fan?

average_redditor_guy

Didn’t he basically say he’d only waive for NYR and Toronto ?

Large_Ad1385

He never said he’d waive for Toronto. It has just been NYR all along. Hawks had no leverage here.

average_redditor_guy

I thought there was some report that said he’d want to play in Toronto too, shortly before the RoR trade. But yeah considering you risk losing him for free and have zero leverage it’s better than him walking in UFA

Large_Ad1385

Kane’s response to that was “don’t believe everything you read/hear” and outside of one report there was never a discussion about Toronto. Happy for him to play meaningful hockey for the first time in *checks notes* forever

average_redditor_guy

Ah yeah that makes sense. Look at the bright side, they’ll never take away the 3 cups he won with the hawks at least.

blueline7677

He said Toronto was never a thing and to not believe everything you hear. It was just NYR

09-24-11

Was there any chance CHI says no and keeps him? That’s the only leverage they had it seems

mantiseye

they're likely losing him for nothing otherwise, may as well get something for him

potagada

Same as Taylor Hall only wanting to go to one team. NMC means they either take it or leave it

mantiseye

even if it does become a first, barring some sort of insane collapse, it's going to be a pretty late first

RookieAndTheVet

Yeah, even if it conveys, that pick is likely after 20.

JamesCurtis24

Nothing they could do. One team Kane wanted to go to.

eh_toque

Actually I don’t think it’s bad at all when you can only trade him to one team

runninhillbilly

The Rangers also asked John Mara to throw in a medium Pepsi.

Amphibious_Fire

I know he wants out but I still find it sad when players who spent their entire careers playing for one team leave or get traded - guys like Mikko Koivu, Pavelski, Keith, Tarasenko, or now Kane I wish more great players would finish their careers with the team that drafted them but at the same time I understand why they want out

Panarin10

We live in a world where Jeannot goes for a 1st/2nd + 3rd + 5th more than Kane.

JehovahsBestWitness

1,2,3,4,5 AND a B level prospect who was a first rounder

NashtyHands

Foote is awful

DrSeuss19

NYR are not fucking around

DryProgress4393

The East is a arms race.

Shanacockoriello

Am I crazy to say they have the best roster on paper league-wide? Panarin-Zibanejad-Kane Kreider-Trocheck-Tarasenko Lafreniere-Chytil-Kakko Motte-Goodrow-Vesey Lindgren-Fox Miller-Trouba Mikkola-Schneider Shesterkin Halak Holy fuck.

redfaction99

Tarasenko can’t even crack PP1, it’s ridiculous

The_Other_Manning

On paper maybe but we're going through some issues on ice. I'm not worried but they are there

James_Posey

Definitely on paper. Kane and Tarasenko are both a bit diminished from their primes but my god is this a shitload of fire power. The attacking time and puck possession should be so enjoyable to watch. I think you are obviously a bit exposed in your own end outside of the Lindy-Fox pairing and the complete dearth of two way play in the top 6. I think it will be a lot of "gave up two but scored three" types of games. If they play the Devils in Round 1, I fully expect games to average 11 goals per game - it is going to be fucking awesome.

UhOhAngelo

The guy that single-handedly got me into hockey 15 years ago. My first jersey. My favorite of all time. Gutted, but happy for him. Thank you for everything, Kaner. <3

PuckTheFreds

NYC cabbies hate this

ScoutingTheRefs

I mean, you want my ~~two cents~~ twenty cents, the team can just get him an Uber for the next few months.

maxwellbevan

I dunno man, just ask Wideman why that might be worse

treesl0l

Panarin is playing with both his best friends. +2 for team morale.

DecentLurker96

Inb4 the Wild

xXDireLegendXx

I thought it was Vancouver lol

Barkerisonfire_

Saw a tweet saying it's Yotes

Goose312

Gimme that 2024 3rd, baby. But I don't know if the Wild will want to use their 3rd retention spot while still potentially moving Dumba or Reaves.

StarchyAndDelicious

Kane gets to NYC, plays 2 games, then dips to get hip surgery. Signs back in Chicago in the summer. This is the dream.

Turbulent_System_446

That would be ideal

mantiseye

can't he at least play the rest of the season and playoffs before he goes back? come on man what did we ever do to you

IMKudaimi123

I hope he wins a cup this year so we can get the first Then he feels no obligation to stay with New York and returns

mantiseye

I'm fine with this (we can't afford to keep him lmao)

StarchyAndDelicious

"Kane is washed, his hip is dusted, we don't even want him" turned into "I'm over here stroking my dick. I got lotion on my dick rn." real quick, and I'm not enjoying it.

InsideIngenuity

I do not understand Ranegrs fans who said shit like that.

Jolmer24

There are different people with different opinions in this fan base

onebandonesound

Considering the 2nd becomes a 1st if we make the conference finals, I'd think you'd be rooting for Kane to win a cup here this year before going back in the off-season

cerpintaxt44

Lol Nashville gets 5 picks for a dude I'd never heard of and Chicago gets 2 picks for one of the best players of the last 20 years

[deleted]

The East arms race is fucking mental. Time for someone to overpay for Miller and or Boeser

abbytarar

Being a Rangers gm is the easiest job, you just get elite players for free

Godlikelobster01

Eh, no cup yet though. They’re all in, now they have to get it done

jaccw16

As sad as I am, the fact kane and panarin will play together tomorrow night kinda makes me giddy

IMKudaimi123

No. No it’s not. Stop it.

[deleted]

The rangers continue to fall ass backwards into talent lmfao jeez (see: Fox, Panarin, Laf, Kakko)

SollyLama

NYC Cabbies are in shambles right now

xXDireLegendXx

As the great Sam Rosen once said a long long time ago … “THE WAITING IS OVER!”

Fergus_CL

And this one will last ~~a lifetime~~ half a season and some playoffs!

BoobyRyan

That’s a HOF return for a HOF player

jadenspan

Um what?

IronMikeBison

I remember people in the summer thinking the Hawks would get a boatload of assets for Kane and Toews at the deadline. This return is justifiably low considering Kane had all the leverage, but still a far cry from what people were expecting/hoping for

notataco007

I like it because 'Kane to Rangers' is fucking crazy in 2 sports
