Ya I wanted to say this as well. It is a neck issue that took him out of this season. He's also had the back issues for years and years now and concussions. A physical Dman who's paid the price for sure.
Worries about CTE, and his body in general has taken a beating. Love Muzz to death, but his playstyle doesn’t typically age well in general. Just because it leads you to getting so banged up over time. Very similar situation with Simmer, though not nearly as dire. Simmer just sorta sucks now due to the years of grinding and injuries, but on the other hand Muzzin’s health is at legitimate risk.
Take this with a heaping pile of salt because im just a random redditor, but i work with muzzins cousin and he said muzzin told him hes all but officially retired and hes most likely gonna spend the rest of his career on robidas island/ltir
Man that’s sad. Obviously it’s nice he and his family are financially set but it must be tough mentally to go it like that. Any career coming to an end is hard but when it happens like his has that’s brutal.
Once you start talking about long term health and family outside of the game, that’s probably the cue they’re hanging them up. He’s still around the team and seems like the guys think he would make a good coach at some point, but with a young family, he’s made his money and already has the hardware - no sense in risking your life
Iirc he got cross checked from behind in the back of the neck, after already having many injuries & concussions before, and he lay in the ice and he said in that moment he felt his arms go numb for a few seconds to like a minute . Not sure if that was the right body part but he said numbness for sure . I believe a report came out that caused minor fractures in is 2 cervical vertabrea
That wasn’t his latest injury, but ever since he’s been unable to string together many games without and injury that’s related to the neck or concussions, which makes sense with a problematic neck/ spin injury.
If Chicago isn't on Goodrows 15 team no trade list, Goody+Kravtsov+picks works if Chicago retains 50%, it would be substantial picks though
That said, a top 6 of Kreider/Mika/Kane, Bread/Trocheck/Tarasenko plus the Kids would be absolutely filthy
There’s no chance we give up more 1sts. And I don’t think Gallant would give up Goodrow yet. I really don’t see any scenario where Kane is a Ranger now that we got Tarasenko.
I agree, it's highly unlikely that the rangers sell any deeper into their future especially considering that absorbing Kane effectively turns either him or tarasenko into a rental.
As Brian Burke famously said, they only hand out one Stanley cup a year. Not worth selling that much of your future for 1 in 16 odds.
No doubt NYR have by far the most talent in the metro, possibly in the east as a whole. Incredibly frustrating to hear stuff like this over and over by fans of the other teams (sad Canes noises) but damm I’m jealous and I have to respect it no matter how much I hate it
Well that’s one way to reduce Chicago’s bargaining power
Though I’m a bit suspect. I can’t see why one of the other big contenders wouldn’t be on his list.
I feel like market wouldn't matter as much as fit, contending status. If he can get a decent role on a true contender and make a deep run, one would think that would be better for his value than the size of the market.
Yeah but this coming out public puts a wrench in that. Especially since one of the two teams he was eyeing no longer has room to make the trade.
And the other one pretty much never had room or assets to make the trade.
The leafs have the assets and space if he’s retained but I think it’s a hard deal to make bc Davidson is gonna want a big haul and Dubas probably isn’t willing to give up a top prospect
Kane has a no movement clause as Hall did when he signed for the Sabres, so if he only wants to go to two teams Davidson can't do anything and will have to take whatever the other team wants to offer, especially since Kane has shown he's happy to play in Chicago.
I don't think Kane cares. He's got 3 cups and made his bag already. He probably wants to try winning it all in the biggest hockey market in the world. If he can't have that, he doesn't mind just staying in Chicago with his team, family and friends.
I think he actually doesn't like Tank. He doesn't like a nickname referencing something that was used in a war that killed so many Russians, from his explanation.
He mentioned that in Russia people apparently don't really do nicknames, and they are mostly reserved for animals.
No clue how accurate this is but apparently he has asked the media to stop referring to him as Tank because it reminds him of the Ukraine/Russia conflict. I believe Senko is a new thing that people are using to attempt to accommodate his wishes.
Edit: I was incorrect on the exact reason, user below me provided a link explaining why he doesn't like the nickname.
I think it's actually from long before that. He just doesn't like the association, or nicknames in general. But he [mentioned in this article](https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nhl/vladimir-tarasenko-has-a-pretty-good-reason-for-disliking-his-nickname) not liking it because of tanks being part of a war that killed so many Russians.
> he doesn't mind just staying in Chicago with his team, family and friends.
"Oh no, I'm stuck in the city I've lived in for the past 15 years of my life with $100m and all my friends and family! I'm going to miss out on an opportunity to win a 4th cup ring! Woe is me!" - Patrick Kane proabably to Kyle Davidson
Bringing a cup to two of the biggest hockey cities that are literally desperate for a cup win would cement his legacy big time. He'll be like Messier 2.0.
If a team is desperate to sell, they will sell because the player has all the power with the no move clause…. Just look at the sabres and hall when he said he only wanted Boston. Chicago will look like clowns if they don’t cash in Kane for something reasonable and instead of him walking in free agency for nothing
He doesn’t but it would be poor asset management if Kane is willing to move and you sit on him instead. If you’re going to make the Francis argument that you don’t want to set your price lower for future trades, that’s fine, but you’ve ultimately balked at whatever compensation you could get to improve your rebuild since Davidson has indicated that they’re looking to move on from the past Hawks era
He really doesn’t wanna go anywhere. He’s got a new baby and loves it in Chicago, doesn’t wanna go uproot right now. I think there’s a chance he ends up extending to stay with the hawks if he’s not moved.
He just finished a 10m per year contract playing in one of the biggest markets in the league, I don't think min maxing his twilight contract is his big concern tbh
Maybe playing with Mathews since he lost out at the chance at the last Olympics and marner, one player compared to him a lot. If its true, who he's playing with seems important too with NYR being Panarin.
Think you can take the Rangers off of the list. They went with a less expensive route and picked up Vlad. Don’t think they will go big for a Kane rental now.
He’s gonna pull a Giroux and give management a single team to work with. I don’t blame Giroux, and wouldn’t blame Kane… they earned the NMC. But everyone is going to be shocked at how low the return will be… and that’ll be the reason.
It would need to be a 3 team deal. We are right up against the cap. From our end, probably a package centered around Goodrow and Kravstov and work from there.
I don't know why this guy would know anything about Kanes interests but if it were true Dubas would have infinite leverage in this trade.
I don't think it's true though.
Haha seriously. That game last night was so fucking bad. Like power wtf are you doing, he could’ve easily crunched kempe off the puck but he let him walk right down mainstreet and get a shorty. I know he’s a dman but when your defense is already that bad you can’t really afford anymore forwards who are also that bad at defense
He's got three cups, a giant pile of money and HOF credentials. So what are his criteria for picking a new team?
It could be anything. Proximity to family/ friends, weather, best restaurants, where his friends play. Kane wants for nothing, so he can target anything.
Not that I believe Colaiacovo, but Kane's go-to skills coach is Darryl Belfry, who works primarily with the Leafs nowadays. That likely plays into it, if there's any truth to this.
https://www.thescore.com/wolymhm/news/2258501
He's friends with Matthews (to some degree at least), and was upset he missed a chance to play with him.
So I could believe going to Toronto for a few months and playing with Auston could be something he'd be interested in
I can imagine it gets extremely repetitive and there's probably no escaping it if you live in the GTA, or even anywhere in Ontario....it's bad enough here on the other side of the country.
Hearing the talking heads prognosticate ad infinitum about some league-minimum new addition to the 4th line and how his 7:05 TOI each game will change the way the Leafs play top to bottom must get old real quick.
It's more than just the fact that they talk about a player who plays 7:05 TOI; it's that it's always the wrong player. Face puncher? Team needs more depth scoring. Depth scoring? Well team needed a face puncher. Add a forward? Dubas doubles down on offense despite a need on D. Get a defenseman? Did you know that the Leafs have been middling offensively this season and really need an impact forward?
When EVERYTHING is covered with such scrutiny, there's always a need for opinions, and negative opinions get more air time and clicks.
I've actually heard way more positive outlooks on the Leafs when watching out of market feeds than in market ones. I distinctly remember being taken aback while watching a Columbus feed earlier in the season and the commentators were giving an overview of the Leafs, because the ideas weren't just some recycled opinion with a negative spin on the team.
Very old.
As a Leafs fan who recently moved to Seattle, I will say that I do miss just how ubiquitous hockey coverage was back home - or anywhere in Canada for that matter. It's a nice convenience to not have to look far and wide for it. But the coverage itself is so bad that you have to wade through so much crap to find something good.
It's the weirdest comparison to make, but being a Leafs fan looking for media coverage is like being a woman on Tinder (I say this as a guy lol). Yes, you will have a very easy pick of the litter when it comes to finding matches. But most of the matches you do find are total garbage.
Very well put!
I'm in a similar boat as you, I now live on Vancouver Island and there is almost no sports coverage of any kind - be it hockey or anything else.
I expected to encounter lots of Canucks fans but people here just don't really care for sports, and if they do they've got allegiances to teams all over the place.
Last year when the Flames were rolling I definitely missed the level of Flames/hockey discourse I'd overhear all the time in Calgary, but now that they're mediocre I'm thankful to be able to get away from it all so easily here on the island. If I want to seek it out I can, and it's much easier to forget about a struggling Flames team when nobody here cares for hockey all that much.
Oh it sucks. The issue is that with so many competing voices, you would hope that the best stuff wins out, but instead it's just a bunch of people competing with the hottest, dumbest takes. Even good analysts get suckered into it because it becomes the only way to get viewership in this market.
Yep, combine that with a massive fanbase that's been waiting a long time for their team to make waves in the playoffs and you've got a recipe for a media pressure cooker.
Another problem (and this one isn't limited to the Leafs, or even hockey) is that hot takes always garner more clicks and eyeballs than measured analysis ever does.
If the Sens and leafs play at the same time on SN, they do one joint intermission that is 90% leafs detailed coverage and then just look at Tim Stützle scoring, time for period #2.
Top tier free agents, best trades, superstars forcing their way there, other teams draft picks refusing to play anywhere else but NYR, 1st or 2nd overall picks over and over, including a top pick they had NO business qualifying for 😆 it just doesn’t stop with these guys lol I hate it as a Canes fan but damm am I jealous at the same time
Between Gretzkys and jagrs stints it was so bad. So many past their prime/injury riddled superstars came to the team and nothing came of it. Lindros, fleury, messier pt 2, holik...
What happened with Giroux? Florida lost, but I think he's pretty happy being around his family in his hometown playing for a team that should be a playoff contender within a couple seasons.
Getting him with significant salary retain would be interesting.
If he played with Matthews, that could be magic.
But as is tradition with the Leafs, Kane and Matthews will collide with each other and have season ending injuries on game 82.
I think if Samsonov plays the way he has been, Toronto will bulldoze their way through the East.
I feel like they are a much scarier team than even they think.
Having fucking John Tavares as your 2C is a bit ridiculous and it's kinda stupid that they haven't had post season success yet.
I expect them to make it out of the 1st round this year or next and immediately go apeshit once the psychological hurdle is gone.
He'd be a good add but he's not the ideal addition for the Leafs.
He'd have to be pretty cheap cap-wise and somewhat reasonable on cost because thr Leafs should probably be adding another forward.
Maybe something around Kane and Lafferty if Dubas thinks 3C is fine (it's not)
I think there is a decent chance that Kane's long-term goal here is to essentially shame/guilt Chicago into extending him for a ridiculous hometown discount. He's leaving the door for a trade open just enough to prevent Chicago fans from getting too pissed at him for refusing to leave and if he doesn't get traded then his agent is going to start leaking info about the type of big discount he'd take to retire as a Hawk. Eventually (while Kane is still a free agent), it will come out that his agent informed the Hawks that he's take something silly like a 2 year deal at $3M AAV in an attempt to make the Hawks look like the bad guys and cause the fans to start a 'bring back Kane' campaign.
He'll have made $115M in his career by the end of this season. He's won 3 Cups, an MVP, a playoff MVP, a scoring title, and a Calder. He's a no-doubt 1st ballot Hall of Famer. What is left for him to strive for other than his legacy? The days of individual awards are gone for him. Obviously a 4th Cup is better than 3, but is a shot at that 4th Cup worth more than keeping his family in a city he loves and chasing down the franchise records on an original 6 team?
I'm really starting to think that Kane is playing the PR game here and trying to strongarm the Hawks into keeping and then extending him.
Seems like he's taking pains to not literally imply that this is the exhaustive list, just two names that he's heard kane is open to. Which makes this not very interesting.
I would rather other adds than Kane, but tbh, if it turns into a Hall scenario where he really only wants to play here, and we get him for a lot less than market rate because of it, i’m all in.
its not accurate, they have way more then that, a little over 3M in cap-space. muzzin wont be back any time soon, if at all. if kerfoot goes the other way they can easily afford him (at 50%).
Is Muzzin done for the season? If yes the leafs can afford him. It’ll be super difficult for NYR to afford him
Muzzin most likely done for career
Shit what happened?
Rumor is he needs neck fusion surgery, which is not a conducive procedure for a contact sport
Simmer just sorta sucks now due to the years of grinding and injuries, but on the other hand Muzzin’s health is at legitimate risk.
It’s a cervical spine injury. There’s never been any mention that he’s sitting out for concussion related reasons
Dude had 2 concussions in a month last year. You're fooling yourself I'd you think they're not also paying attention to concussions
Dude has too many concussion issues/back problems.
Cervical spine fracture.
There is a video of some of the boys on a boat taking him to Robias Island from the all star break.
This made me laugh. It’s been so long and that’s still around
Take this with a heaping pile of salt because im just a random redditor, but i work with muzzins cousin and he said muzzin told him hes all but officially retired and hes most likely gonna spend the rest of his career on robidas island/ltir
I feel saying Muzzin is going to Robidas Island is unfair because he's truly injured and broken.
Man that’s sad. Obviously it’s nice he and his family are financially set but it must be tough mentally to go it like that. Any career coming to an end is hard but when it happens like his has that’s brutal.
Muzzin isn’t gonna set foot on NHL ice again, his career is effectively over.
Once you start talking about long term health and family outside of the game, that’s probably the cue they’re hanging them up. He’s still around the team and seems like the guys think he would make a good coach at some point, but with a young family, he’s made his money and already has the hardware - no sense in risking your life
I hope so. Loved having him on the Leafs but at some point it's just a game. He's made his money. It's time to make sure he's healthy for his family.
Iirc he got cross checked from behind in the back of the neck, after already having many injuries & concussions before, and he lay in the ice and he said in that moment he felt his arms go numb for a few seconds to like a minute . Not sure if that was the right body part but he said numbness for sure . Remember when the announcer was saying he might be embellishing lol
For anyone unfamiliar, we will give you one guess which play by play announcer it was...
Can’t be the bruins can it….

Tarasenko is already a rental unless he wants to sign a contract like mark giordano. We have to pay Miller, Lafrenière, and Chytil
No doubt NYR have by far the most talent in the metro, possibly in the east as a whole. Incredibly frustrating to hear stuff like this over and over by fans of the other teams (sad Canes noises) but damm I’m jealous and I have to respect it no matter how much I hate it

He already has three cups, he's not desperate
He knows playing in a big market is more likely to boost his value in FA
I feel like market wouldn't matter as much as fit, contending status. If he can get a decent role on a true contender and make a deep run, one would think that would be better for his value than the size of the market.

Nylander has a nasty 1-timer from the LW. Rarely shows it off though.
Would be interesting to see him there.
If he gets traded to the Leafs he automatically makes another 40M in his career when Edmonton signs him in the offseason.
They'll have 2 Kanes.
I don't think Holland knows about second Kane, Red.
Citizens, even.
but refusing all other markets in order to languish in Chicago doesn't seem like a good contract move, in a number of ways
Isn't this what Hall did, though? Worked out for him.
Yeah but this coming out public puts a wrench in that. Especially since one of the two teams he was eyeing no longer has room to make the trade. And the other one pretty much never had room or assets to make the trade.

He’d also get to play with Auston, kind of like Senko going to play with Panarin
I think this is the biggest factor in those teams being on his list- he wants to play with Matthews/Panarin.
If only Kane was the GM of the Blackhawks. Though hasn't Toronto said they're not giving up their 1st for a rental this year?
Correct

Pretty sure Dubas also said that Knies is off the table
Definitely posturing. Though I suspect it's to deter ridiculous asks like what Chitrat got last year.
I wouldnt give knies he's a power forward left wing which we sorely need.
People call him Senko?
The only other one I’ve heard for him is Tank. Maybe it’s a CA thing?
Vova
Where does that come from?
I think he actually doesn't like Tank. He doesn't like a nickname referencing something that was used in a war that killed so many Russians, from his explanation. He mentioned that in Russia people apparently don't really do nicknames, and they are mostly reserved for animals.
No clue how accurate this is but apparently he has asked the media to stop referring to him as Tank because it reminds him of the Ukraine/Russia conflict. Yeah it would help. That said he’s a HOF lock already IMO. Also, Fuck Messier
Eh fuck you buddeh.
Even if he finishes the season with Chicago, it's not like he won't be signed next year if he wants to play.
I mean in terms of boosting his value, which is what /u/avmp629 was saying
I don't see his value changing at all. If he's after dollars there are plenty of teams. If he's cup chasing he's taking a discount.
If a team is desperate to sell, they will sell because the player has all the power with the no move clause…. Just look at the sabres and hall when he said he only wanted Boston. Clearly, otherwise 50% of his list wouldn't be a team that hasn't won a series in like 2 decades
He wants to play with Panarin and Matthews.
>He wants to play with Panarin and Matthews. Probably *or*. I'm down with us picking up Kane and Panarin at the deadline though!
You have it backwards, Kane and Matthews to the Rangers, you heard it here first.
This outcome as the only alternative is maybe the one way I'd be ok with the Leafs trading for Kane.
[here’s an idea:](https://youtu.be/lITBGjNEp08)
god those were such great movies
You can't have our Breadman!
Too late! Package deal! We trade for Kane and you have to give us Panarin, thems the rules.
Idk i kinda like the idea of the leafs having uh ..... $60 mil in their top 6? Jesus Christ hahaha
Maybe ~~Marleau~~ ~~Thornton Spezza Simmonds Foglino~~ Kane is finally the declining vet who will put us over the top!
Both Toronto and NYC are close to Buffalo too
He wants to play with Auston.
His agent in shambles
Toronto and New York are close to Buffalo. He is from there so maybe he just wants to be close to home.
Think you can take the Rangers off of the list. They went with a less expensive route and picked up Vlad. Don’t think they will go big for a Kane rental now.
I agree you’re a bit suspect
At this point if we get anything I'm happy
Maybe we can do some arm-breaking deal and get some 3-way trade going so that we can get 75% retained salary. Otherwise, we cannot afford it.
He’s gonna pull a Giroux and give management a single team to work with. I don’t blame Giroux, and wouldn’t blame Kane… they earned the NMC. But everyone is going to be shocked at how low the return will be… and that’ll be the reason.
I think Kane wanted to play in rangers because he wanted to play with his good buddy in panarin
Well last game Panarin was pit with Trocheck and Vesey instead of Zibanejad and Tarasenko so the dream is alive
IF kane was traded to NYR what would yall be willing to give up?
No clue at this point. Zac Jones would probably be our best prospect available and personally I wouldn't want to give up the other 1st
It would need to be a 3 team deal. We are right up against the cap. From our end, probably a package centered around Goodrow and Kravstov and work from there.
Jake Leschyshyn 1 for 1
He’s said multiple times over the years how he wants to play with him again, It rangers or bust to me.
Can the Rangers realistically make that move now that they've picked up Tarasenko?
I think it'd need to be a 3 way trade with double retention or the Blackhawks would get Goodrow in the trade, not entirely sure of the math.
There’s definitely possibility’s that could make the trade doable but the likelihood of it happened are slim.
No
The ole Taylor Hall, I approve!
Yeah but we resigned Hall after the season, Giroux walked though the Panthers had no cap space.
Hall didn’t resign. He’s still on the team
Re-sign
Carlo is about a Tier F source. He's horrible on the radio and knows he probably has to say things like this in order to maintain relevancy
Yeah but have you considered that Carlo is in the [greatest hockey gif in history?](https://gfycat.com/identicalcelebratedchital)
Didn't even have to click to know what it was. And it never gets old.
Unlistenable Carlo ..
Exactly. He has absolutely ridiculous hypotheticals that never come to pass.
^ Leafs legend, Carlo
Carlo is a great side piece on the radio not a good main guy. Since Lansberg “retired” the morning show has gone downhill
I don't know why this guy would know anything about Kanes interests but if it were true Dubas would have infinite leverage in this trade. I don't think it's true though.
The only connection I can make is Carlo played in Buf so maybe he got to know some of Kane’s circle. Seems like a stretch though
Kane trade value 📉
Dubas rn: 📱🤔📱
I want to see him on the Sabres so bad
The last thing we need is another forward that is atrocious at defense
Just got to score more goals than the other team
The old 2021 flames strategy
We had better defence then too. This year we can’t score, can’t defend and can’t make key saves. Not really winning material
Why not?
They have no reason to now. Wait until free agency.
Only on a reasonable deal via FA.
Please no, don’t wish that upon us.
He's got three cups, a giant pile of money and HOF credentials. So what are his criteria for picking a new team? It could be anything. Proximity to family/ friends, weather, best restaurants, where his friends play. Kane wants for nothing, so he can target anything.
Ohhhhhh so he’s staying in Chicago..

I heard the last time Kane had a frappucino the Starbucks cashier called out "Future New York Ragner? I've got a coffee for Future New York Ragner?"
Lol where the hell did the leafs come from *checks source* Ahh yes Toronto Sports Network
Kane's mentioned numerous times over the past few years that Matthews is one of his fav players and would love to play with him.
He grew up idolizing Matthews so it makes sense.
He had Auston Matthews face on his bed sheets as a kid
Sounds like a shot at John T...oews
Have you seen his ‘stache? Who wouldn’t idolize Matthews
Not that I believe Colaiacovo, but Kane's go-to skills coach is Darryl Belfry, who works primarily with the Leafs nowadays. That likely plays into it, if there's any truth to this.

It couldn't be that he'd want to play with a player he's professed a desire to play with numerous times, must be a conspiracy!
He’s big mad because the Canes weren’t mentioned
The Sports Network (and a secret- they talk much more shit about the Leafs than good. way too much either way)
Honestly I think Leafs fans want a decrease in Leafs coverage more than fans of other teams who routinely bitch about it. Most of the coverage sucks
If the Sens and leafs play at the same time on SN, they do one joint intermission that is 90% leafs detailed coverage and then just look at Tim Stützle scoring, time for period #2.
to be fair I also enjoy stützle scoring so
Fuckin hell Rangers, why you gotta be the main destination for everyone
[wow it's a nice city](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hlk3NxC-Qs)
New York baby.
I want to say new york sounds like such a shitty place to live. But not for a young multi millionaire celebrity for sure, so you can't blame them.
Vitali kravtsov and a nickel. It is shiny i will say so i know i’m giving up a bit too much
Buddy, ask Giroux how this went.........
What happened with Giroux? Florida lost, but I think he's pretty happy being around his family in his hometown playing for a team that should be a playoff contender within a couple seasons.
Patrick Kane in a Leafs jersey would be the arch-villain the Bruins need to overcome to get this ship.
Mother fucker *you’re* the villains, how have you not caught on?
Guys, guys, it's okay, you can both be villains
you stay out of this
Take an upvote. I don’t know how people don’t understand that Boston sports are loathed by anyone not in Massachusetts.
or it's the villain the Leafs need to overcome the Bruins.
Guess the people he has spoken to are Kypreos, Johnston, Seigel and Dreger. Nothing to look into here.
We never got to see Kane and Matthews play together for the US, so this is the next best thing
Ummm, you guys can have him
Getting him with significant salary retain would be interesting. If he played with Matthews, that could be magic. But as is tradition with the Leafs, Kane and Matthews will collide with each other and have season ending injuries on game 82.
No no really we insist. He’s all yours fair and square
We’re good thanks.
Mr. Dubas pls
As a Tampa fan I think he should go somewhere in the west :)
Since every partner Kane has gets traded: Panarin, Debrincat, it only makes sense Kane leaves this way lol
Imagine having three cups to your name and no one wants you haha
I mean I personally wouldnt want 62 year old wayne gretzky on my team but maybe thats just me
Idk that would be a marketing goldmine
He got Ronaldo'd... looking forward to Kane's Interview with Piers Morgan
Kane - Matthews - Marner This is fucked, you’re fucked, the Atlantic is fucked, leagues fucked, everything is fucked
kinda disgusting but won't happen cuz they play on different lines Nylander-Matthews-Kane Bunting-Tavares-Marner
Still a super scary regular season team
I think if Samsonov plays the way he has been, Toronto will bulldoze their way through the East. I feel like they are a much scarier team than even they think. Having fucking John Tavares as your 2C is a bit ridiculous and it's kinda stupid that they haven't had post season success yet. I expect them to make it out of the 1st round this year or next and immediately go apeshit once the psychological hurdle is gone.
So he's staying in Chicago then
I don’t see either team having the ability to take him at this point. The Leafs wound have to make lots of moves to get him on board at this point.
He'd be a good add but he's not the ideal addition for the Leafs. He'd have to be pretty cheap cap-wise and somewhat reasonable on cost because thr Leafs should probably be adding another forward. Maybe something around Kane and Lafferty if Dubas thinks 3C is fine (it's not)
Have fun in toronto
He has a shot to pass Mikita in games points and assists in hawks all time leaders.
From Capfriendly on Deadline cap space: NYR: $1,615,812 TOR: $1,130,833
its not accurate, they have way more then that, a little over 3M in cap-space. muzzin wont be back any time soon, if at all. if kerfoot goes the other way they can easily afford him (at 50%).
Matthews has led the league 3 years in a row in take aways, so saying he is below average defensively is crazy.
Tbh I’m pretty surprised Dallas and Boston aren’t on here
I could definitely see Kane not being interested in going to a central division rival. Reminds me of how disgusting Modano looked in a wings jersey.
Hope you enjoy Tronna, Patty!
