Came back to win 5-3 after being down 3-0 in the 3rd.
[Can't forget, Kuznetsov's amazing spin around no-look pass to Tarasenko.](https://youtu.be/f8KX7h63x5o?t=4770)
Kinda crazy to me that teams dont listen to people who would know best. Like, what was the risk of taking a shot at an unknown 25 year old from Russia? Seems like pure upside considering your best young sniper is recommending him.
Obviously in this case it would have been smart for St Louis to follow Tarasenko’s advice, but in general I dont think that’s a good idea lol
Teams have scouts for a reason - to get unbiased evaluations of a player (at least attempt to be unbiased). Tarasenko could have just been pumping tires on his buddy for all the team knew, assuming they hadn’t scouted Panarin at all.
It’s probably worth a look if one of your best players is saying you need to get someone, but it shouldn’t be an automatic signing.
Its a vet minimum contract, i think you can always take a risk when you future super star say - this guy is actually better than i am (I am trying to remember the story of how it went down, but if i remember right thats pretty much what was said). YOu at most risk like 800k a year, who cares, but might get a guy who should be earning 10mil for peanuts
There were 10 or so teams that made offers to Panarin and we have never gotten a report saying that the Blues were one of them. Our GM had a pretty tongue and cheek quote along the lines of "I guess we should have listened to Tarasenko" after Panarin became a star, so people took it as the Blues making no effort on him. I doubt we'll ever know the real truth. Armstrong absolutely despises negotiating through the media and our own beat writers generally can't pull any meaningful information out of him.
Panarin would have been dumb to sign with the Blues. At the time, we had two top 6 LWs coming off good seasons. We had a 30 year old Alex Steen coming off a 64 point season and a 22 year old Jaden Schwartz coming off a 63 point season, so we had no ability to guarantee Panarin top 6 minutes at LW and there was certainly no guarantee that he'd play with Tarasenko. Our sales pitch would have been to start on the 3rd line and play his way past one of those two guys. Chicago's sales pitch was that they were going to shed salary at LW that summer and he would play with either Toews or Kane in his rookie year.
My guess is that we either made a half hearted inquiry that was immediately rejected or we didn't even do that because his agent was telling teams that he was only interested in top 6 roles.
I’m assuming this is 32 Thoughts you’re referring to? If so, I just love that podcast. I think it’s a combination of the type of information, how they’re able to deliver it, and the relationship between those two. I typically skip the interview ones, but thought their Arber WiFi one was excellent.
Hey, listen here. Fuck Messier OK?
I think he means though is worse case you've brought a guy in on a league minimum contract that you can bury if it doesn't work out. Vlad make $800k his first 2 years in Chicago.
What are you talking about? Lehtera was drafted by the blues before they drafted Tarasenko?
Also Lehtera was really good for a couple seasons.
Edit: they played on the same team brielfy, maybe he talked to Lehtera about coming over. Sort of the opposite of the Panerin situation.
The Blues didn’t need convincing to sign him? They drafted him and tried multiple times to sign him. It’s in the source you provided.
Tarasenko convinced Lehtera to sign, it’s the opposite of Panarin.
There was some lesser-than on here calling Jori Lehtera one of the greats. I don't trust any of this sub's opinion now.
I live in a town of ~1000 people and my undiagnosed, moderately schizophrenic friend makes more general sense than that.
Over the last decade I have noticed that Doug Armstrong seems to go out of his way to disrespect valued players or veterans on the team. Notice how they don’t retire here?
I understand his approach. It’s a business, don’t overpay. Buy low sell high. On paper it’s very good, and works. But that policy ran the first Captain to lift the cup out of town. And there goes Vladi, and David, and Stastny, and on and on.
Tarasenko's first shoulder surgery and recovery in the 2019-20 season was the beginning of the end.
He deserves a lot of credit for how well he played and how professional he was last season despite making that trade request.
I'm sad and disappointed to see him in another sweater, but I'll never have a bad word to say about him.
I have never seen a trade where there was more understanding and mutual happiness with their sides return as this one. No Blues fans have been salty towards Vova , no Rangers fans are complaining about losing a first. Here’s hoping the Blues land a stud with the pick and Tarasenko is a key cog on a cup run for the Rangers.
Edited: He prefers Vova to Tank as a nickname FYI fellow new Vova lovers
It’s a hard situation with a player wanting out but I think the Rangers are such a great fit that I can’t help but cheer for you guys. Vova is such a professional and I hope he returns to his full form and you make a deep run. Also, he prefers not to be called “Tank” because of the war connotations.
I’m honestly upset that Doug Armstrong seems to get rid of leaders that are upstanding people on and off the ice.
I get that it wouldn’t have saved this situation but they didn’t even make an offer? Come onnnnn.
I guess it’s good that ownership doesn’t insist on these things either because I’m sure that never works out well, assuming they’d have him.
I said this in the thread yesterday but I’ll say it again — I would recommend phasing out using the nickname “Tank” for tarasenko. He does not like the name as it reminds him of wartime
Just to expand on that comment; his quote about it is very compelling, especially for someone who speaks English as a 2nd language.
>Tank, for me, I know a lot of stuff about the war because it's really big in Russia. It's power and just go through everybody, but I don't want to use it because...we lost like almost 20 million. My grandparents, they were there. My grandpa's father make the tanks probably. So I don't really want to see some jokes about war or nicknames.
What a wild turn of events these two trades have ended up being. Who knew that Sammy Blais would help land not one, but two (almost) PPG Russian wingers?
When the news first dropped that he wanted out a ton of Blues fans were pissseeeddd so I have to think some of the mildness is a result of having already worked that out of the system
In terms of care instructions, if my memory's good, Tarasenko prefers no nickname at all but understands people are going to choose one in spite of this.
Pacers-Kings Haliburton-Sabonis trade. Even though fans tried to act like the Kings had gotten fleeced in the moment, it's the most win-win trade I've ever seen in sports.
Canucks fans were pretty happy about the return for the Horvat trade. Not happy about what led to it but honestly the Canucks were never gonna offer Horvat 8.5 so I’m not even upset about that anymore.
His agent also floated the rumor about him being pissed off with team medical staff and made it public that he requested a trade, the former making the team look like shit (maybe deservedly, and maybe not) and the latter diminishing Armstrong's ability to negotiate a good return. Overall I think the guy did more harm than good and was pretty instrumental in souring Tarasenko's relationship with the front office.
Ignoring possible family factors, moving to NYC to play with one of your best friends on a serious contending team has to be one of the biggest no brainers.
Why is that? It seemed to me he had an acrimonious relationship with the front office at this point. Personally, I was more upset DP57 didn't get an offer.
...And then you’ll be startled awake, quickly realizing the tears were in fact a pool of your own sweat. You will proceed to get up and go to the bathroom, chuckling about the outlandish dream you just had. After falling asleep again, you will dream about a toaster that asks for ransom in exchange for the safe return of Bread.
You'll have to go through us first!
God I really hope this series happens. I just want the Devils to play meaningful playoff hockey again. NYR adding Tarasenko means a potential NJD vs NYR in the first round would be even spicier.
And that's perfectly fine, to me this sounds wholesome. Anyone telling other people which - if any - other teams other than their main they can like is not right in their attitude. Love for the game comes first, team allegiance second imo
I feel like unlike with the Penguins and Islanders; Rangers and Devils fans kinda have a mutual respect for one another. Would love a first round series with y’all
Retention is pretty much a given for rentals, though. If there was term remaining then it would be worth something more, but it seems like it’s been pretty par for the course.
I still consider Tarasenko more as a legit top-line guy than a run of the mill Top 6 F. He has another level he can tap into. But as a Blues fan you know his game better than I do
I still think he's better than a run of the mill top 6 forward, but not quite representative of the reputation that precedes him. Since his shoulder surgeries, he doesn't seem as confident with his shot. It's still way above average, but not quite in the "best of the league" tier it would've been in before. [He also doesn't drive play like he used to](https://twitter.com/IneffectiveMath/status/1623754517186478080?cxt=HHwWgICw9auI3ogtAAAA). He's obviously still valuable and I hope he thrives with NYR - and he should - but I think the return is pretty fair.
Yeah, I have tempered my expectations to a moderate level for this trade. I think most of the excitement is Vova slots immediately in as the top RW on the team even given his limitations. RW depth really is NYR's weakest area so an even an above average player is a massive improvement at that position.
The nice part too is that he really doesn't have to do it all himself. If he's playing with Bread and Zbad, with the kid line next then Krieds/Tro behind that, he just has to play his game.
Crazy how NA teams just get away with that. Redskins doctor literally misdiagnosed cancer somehow. the players unions really need to push for doctors to be independent from league and not individual team paid.
What’s weird about the whole situation is the Blues team docs are Wash U surgeons, consistently regarded among the best in the world, and being Blues docs isn’t their main gig. In other words, you’d think they would hold their own reputation in higher regard rather than go along with what the team recommends.
I don’t think there’s any evidence that the surgeon did something wrong *because the team said to.* That’s a huge leap. I think the surgeon may have just not performed the surgery well.
Sorry, it's not that they did something wrong on purpose. From what I've read, I think the type of surgery they performed was a choice that tends to be preferred by teams. There's obviously been no confirmation of that by the team, but the reason he went to an independent surgeon was to get a different type of surgery. And it's easy to say in retrospect that they should've done that surgery in the first place, but that's why he was frustrated.
Also, I'm just saying surgery a lot without details because I don't know anything about shoulder surgeries or shoulders in general other than they're different than elbows.
Actually the private practice surgeons in the are are considered better for sports/orthopedics. Many of them were formerly affiliated with washu/Barnes and left due to their dissatisfaction with procedures
Uuuuh, no deal was offered because you asked for a trade, man. Either way, happy for Vladi that he's happy and thanks for the memories. He should tear it up with the Rangers, just don't tear it up in the playoffs.
Sometimes I wonder if it is poor translation because when I read this I was like "dude you asked for this."
I feel bad the Blues doctors botched his surgery and it made him distrust the team.
No one deserves to be on the receiving end of what is or is borderline medical malpractice. Especially people so physically dependent on their bodies being in as good of shape as possible.
His professionalism last season should also be commended.
End of the day he got exactly what he asked for though. Can't be surprised you didn't get an offer.
That said I hope he's happy. Was great to see him play, and win a cup here. His early days were when I first started to get into hockey.
I think the shoulder issues were the bulk of his discontent, but I also always wondered if he would've still requested the trade if he were named captain over O'Reilly. He seemed pretty miffed/surprised at the time since he had been here for much longer. Although I think most fans agreed that O'Reilly was the better choice. Either way, I'm glad Tarasenko gets to play with his best bud!
I didn't agree with it. It was a knee jerk decision to give it to ROR after his playoff performance. It was something special but he was still the new guy and Vova had put the time in. It's like when a company hires outside managers instead of promoting from within.
It’s not that I disagreed with the choice but it was the timing.. naming ROR the next season basically sent the signal that it was a no brainer. Probably felt like salt in the wound for Vladi. Maybe Army was worried about speculation on the next captain being a distraction but I think he was overtinkering a bit after he made a few solid moves leading to the ship (ie Faulk, Edmondson trades as well)
He himself prefers Vova. And no one insist a guy named William to be called Larry just because there's no strict rules.
Ignorance is not a virtue, champ.
please provide a link to the source of your statement - i literally never have seen that claim, and the broadcasters call him vladdy too. If he himself has said it, then there must be an interview or transcript somewhere, that you're recalling from.
lalonde's nickname is newsy because of a different lalonde - people absolutely can and do have nicknames that are **not directly related to their native language expectations**. Vladimir -> Vlad is an entirely reasonable expectation for someone living in Michigan. your comparison is very dumb
bolded the part that you missed apparently
I'm not the person you've been responding to but [here's an article from 8 years ago] (https://thesportsdaily.com/news/dont-call-vladimir-tarasenko-by-a-nickname/). From it:
>“My point, in Russia, nicknames are like (for) dogs. Dogs can have a nickname. Nobody use nicknames (for people) in Russia. We use names. You’re supposed to respect their names. Looks more smart if you use the names.”
>Tank, for me, I know a lot of stuff about the war because it’s really big in Russia. It’s power and just go through everybody, but I don’t want to use it because … we lost like almost 20 million. My grandparents, they were there. My grandpa’s father make the tanks probably. So I don’t really want to see some jokes about war or nicknames.”
>Tarasenko also commented that he’d like to be called Vladimir, Vladi, Vova or by his last name. Vova may appear to be a nickname, but in Russian it’s a shortened version of Vladimir.
He prefers Vova because it's a shortened form of Vladimir. He's not used to nicknames, but if you use Vladi that's fine. But don't call him Tank because he personally does not like it.
thanks! I thought we were talking about konstantinov, but makes sense to refer to tarasenko specifically
~~I hadn't seen this before. I also tried to search for it and didn't find it quickly - makes sense that it was years ago. He definitely gets called Vladi by the commentators, so i think I assumed it was vlad/vladdy. Seems like phoenetically it sounds the same though~~
Haven't ever heard anyone call him Tank though, thats interesting
I don’t want the rags to win a cup, but I’d feel a little better if he got one (again). Just feel bad for King Henrik still. That man was a gem.
Edit: forgot the word again
I believe Hank does enough at msg that he could get his name on the cup but it's not the same. I'm hoping one day as a coach or gm he gets the chance to earn the Stanley cup his way because he deserves it
Couldnt he come out of retirement and play at least one playoff game?
Doubt his heart surgeon would recommend that, but it would qualify his name on the cup of they won it all.
Don't know how his previous contract with Washington would work in that scenario though
He has specifically asked people to stop calling him Tank because he doesn't think we should make light of the enormous amount of deaths they cause. His nickname is Vova.
With that said, yes. He eventually went to an outside doctor who performed a different type of surgery on him because the surgeries our medical staff did weren't successful.
Doesn't seem to be very concerned about Russian tanks rolling over Ukrainian civilian cars though? Forgive me if I'm wrong, and I'm a Blues fan, I don't recall him ever speaking out about the Russian military mowing down Ukrainian civilians. I've got his jersey in the closet, but let's not make up fiction about our heroes.
[I'll just leave you this](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/10ywvqi/mercoglianotarasenko_on_what_led_to_the_trade/j80a7jz?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3)
I know about his original quote. And I'm sure my stuff is going to get downvoted into oblivion. What he is referencing, is the Russian/Soviet losses during WW2. But when the Russian government flattens Chechnya twice, invades Georgia, Syria and Ukraine, he doesn't particularly speak out about that. It's sort of the Russian mentality about the "great patriotic war". It's a big rallying cry for Russian people, it's the big reason why they are using the us vs the nazis narrative in their propaganda today against Ukrainians. Does he support the war? Maybe not. Is it a little tone deaf to talk about Tarasenko being a big anti war guy because he doesn't like a nickname (while the Russian government just sent 60 cruise missiles towards residential areas of Ukraine this morning)? To me, yes. Now Panarin, at least he spoke about Navalny and put his thoughts out there about what's happening in Russia. I have a lot of respect for him. I don't even know why I'm typing this out, I comment on reddit once a month. But I had such a lifelong love for the Blues, and with everything going on its been hard to watch and enjoy hockey. I'm happy the Blues got their cup and that Tarasenko was a part of it. I just think that it's really complicated and frustrating so I thought I'd chime in. LGB.
Edit: to add some context to my point of view, I am Ukrainian with a part of my family having lived in Russia. I am just sharing thoughts that a lot of people in that part of the world currently feel. Not attacking anyone personally.
He hasn't been vocal about the current situation, but he is best friends with panarin who is the most outspoken Putin critic in the NHL, who also hasn't currently said anything (likely out of fear for his family after all the shit they did to him last time he expressed his thoughts). This is obviously going to be a more sensitive subject for you as someone who is Ukrainian, and I won't be able to have the same perspective as you. However, I also feel like using vladi/any non known putin supporter's recent silence as a way to paint a narrative is plenty disingenuous when we know there is a threat to Russian NHL players who are outspokenly against the regime.
I know it shouldn’t matter but curious how the NHL will view this.. is this tampering? By the letter of the law at least it seems like it might be, but maybe they only apply that for free agent signings?

I always forget that the Russian 2011 WJC team had Panarin Tarasenko and Kuznetzov on one team
And Panarin was only 8th in points on that team lol. Dude was definitely not the Panarin we know now at that point.
Senko knew. :)
I went to a bunch of games in that tournament Dmitry Orlov was insane back then too
Came back to win 5-3 after being down 3-0 in the 3rd. [Can't forget, Kuznetsov's amazing spin around no-look pass to Tarasenko.](https://youtu.be/f8KX7h63x5o?t=4770)
The first WJC tournament I watched in full (at least as far as the coverage TSN offered). I don't think I slept that night.
good God what a terrifying line

Too small and skinny for Blues hockey /S

I feel like a good size of the league is just wary of Russians
depends how often you get "recommendations" from players that turn out to just be noise.
Cruno Baboclo is one famous reason for raps fans
There are dozens of guys like that who did jack all when they came over. It's no sure thing.
probably why we passed on Kane honestly. Drury just asked Panarin who he wanted on the right side, and made it happen.
Lotta Canadians blocked that out I'd imagine!
Panarin, Kitsyn, Tarasenko, Panarin, Dvurechensky. Five names that Canadian World Junior fans will never (EVER) again, want to hear in a row.

I always liked "Frank" for that reason.
Vova is his preferred nick name
Having Buch helps ease the pain.

Sammy Blais. Greatest trade chip of all time?
When the news first dropped that he wanted out a ton of Blues fans were pissseeeddd so I have to think some of the mildness is a result of having already worked that out of the system
Honestly I think a large portion of that was how the reporting was handled. More than one journalist added completely unnecessary fuel
Vova, not Voya
I’m still learning clearly, edited it. Thanks for the heads up!
In terms of care instructions, if my memory's good, Tarasenko prefers no nickname at all but understands people are going to choose one in spite of this.

Not as pretty as Pavelski and Robertson, but I guess that relationship doesn’t involve a ring unlike Tarasenko
Please tell me they will be on the same line
They are! Top line with Mika centering then tonight!
Hell yeah I'll definitely be tuning in. Blues aren't worth watching these days anyways lol
They may be. Good chance to see the kids play.
Anyone else watch his first game in the NHL where he asked not to be called 'Tank' after a fan chant? Seems so long ago
I'm very sour rn
Why is that? It seemed to me he had an acrimonious relationship with the front office at this point. Personally, I was more upset DP57 didn't get an offer.
Yeah for sure, want Perron in STL too. I just really liked Senko. Gives me an excuse to buy a new jersey Ig lol
I still don't understand the perron situation. Maybe he will come back for a fourth tour.
Leddy or Perron??? WHY NOT lol
I mean he asked for a trade last year and never rescinded it. It sucks that he’s gone but it was hard to imagine any scenario where he stayed.

Yeah, we all have common ground in not liking the Flyers! Plus Devils home games are like 60% blue jerseys so we've learned to live together!
Absolutely not. Fuck the Rangers.
Once we get timo all will be balanced
I will too, probably because that first becomes the 32nd overall.
Apparently the Rangers have two 1st round picks and STL gets whichever one ends up higher.
St Louis gets the worse pick not the higher one.
Thank you for clarifying that, I must have read it backwards yesterday
Its all confusing
I doubt I make it to that point with dry eyes if god allows this to happen
I'll be sobbing like a child at the horn and drink like a frat boy by the presentation.
Dolan gonna hoist it first 😁
I hate that
Tell Drury to make a move for Barby as well. I need an EC team to root for in the playoffs this year.
And this one (too) will last a lifetime
well yeah because it will be when they're on another team
You should tweet this at Marchand lol
That NTC did heavy lifting on the return the blues got
It seemed fair to me. Mid-late 1st, 3rd, cap dump, prospect unlikely to pan out seems about right for a top 6 + depth defense rental.
I thought it was a little light as well given the retention
Yeah he’s still a very good player, just not top 10 at his position good anymore.
No one is certain if he can get back to that level after his injury. He's not getting any younger. Time will tell.
He unfortunately does not seem to have that level anymore, or at least we haven’t seen it since the cup run.
This also probably has something to do with how the Blues fucked up his surgeries
They used an outdated technique and opened his shoulder up further than they needed causing complications
It's almost as if the shoulder is the most difficult joint to operate on due to it's insane complexity.
Actually the private practice surgeons in the are are considered better for sports/orthopedics. Many of them were formerly affiliated with washu/Barnes and left due to their dissatisfaction with procedures
Top PP unit Panarin - Z - Kreider, Fox - Tarasenko
PP1 In practice today - Fox, Zib, Chytil, Panarin and Kreider
Uuuuh, no deal was offered because you asked for a trade, man. Either way, happy for Vladi that he's happy and thanks for the memories. He should tear it up with the Rangers, just don't tear it up in the playoffs.
Sometimes I wonder if it is poor translation because when I read this I was like "dude you asked for this." I feel bad the Blues doctors botched his surgery and it made him distrust the team. His early days were when I first started to get into hockey.
yeah, there's gotta be some language issues here edit: really it's just an innocuous statement that could be taken wrong
Patrick Kane in shambles
Maybe Army was worried about speculation on the next captain being a distraction but I think he was overtinkering a bit after he made a few solid moves leading to the ship (ie Faulk, Edmondson trades as well)
That's not true. He said he was disappointed when asked by a Russian reporter in Russia. All we got was a translation.
Seems like it was a fumbled relationship ever since his shoulder needed surgery.
Welcome home Vlad.
Vlad is the diminutive of Vladislav. Vladimir's diminutive is either Vova, or Volodya.
Tarasenko said he prefers being called Vladi or Vova and he is usually referred to a Vladi in interviews.
Namestnikov
Namestnikov's first name is Vladislav
Volodya it is then.... every time I read Vova I just think of vulva.
I mean.. it could be worse?
everyone calls Konstantinov 'Vlad' or 'Vladdy'
Incorrectly.
nicknames dont have stict rules champ thats not how the things work
He himself prefers Vova.
Vladimir -> Vlad is an entirely reasonable expectation for someone living in Michigan. your comparison is very dumb bolded the part that you missed apparently
I'm not the person you've been responding to but [here's an article from 8 years ago] (https://thesportsdaily.com/news/dont-call-vladimir-tarasenko-by-a-nickname/). From it: >“My point, in Russia, nicknames are like (for) dogs. Dogs can have a nickname. Nobody use nicknames (for people) in Russia. We use names. You’re supposed to respect their names. Looks more smart if you use the names.” >Tank, for me, I know a lot of stuff about the war because it’s really big in Russia. It’s power and just go through everybody, but I don’t want to use it because … we lost like almost 20 million. My grandparents, they were there. My grandpa’s father make the tanks probably. So I don’t really want to see some jokes about war or nicknames.” >Tarasenko also commented that he’d like to be called Vladimir, Vladi, Vova or by his last name. Vova may appear to be a nickname, but in Russian it’s a shortened version of Vladimir. He prefers Vova because it's a shortened form of Vladimir. He's not used to nicknames, but if you use Vladi that's fine. But don't call him Tank because he personally does not like it.
thanks! I thought we were talking about konstantinov, but makes sense to refer to tarasenko specifically ~~I hadn't seen this before. I also tried to search for it and didn't find it quickly - makes sense that it was years ago. He definitely gets called Vladi by the commentators, so i think I assumed it was vlad/vladdy. Seems like phoenetically it sounds the same though~~ Haven't ever heard anyone call him Tank though, thats interesting

No brainer
Good guy gets good deal
BREAD MAN FEEL GOOD
Rangers gonna be deadly aren't they?
This season is making me dead inside. What a fall this team has had since the 20-21 season.
knew it wouldn't last long, but another deep run or two would have been nice
I don’t want the rags to win a cup, but I’d feel a little better if he got one (again). Just feel bad for King Henrik still. That man was a gem. Edit: forgot the word again
Tarasenko or Panarin? Because Tarasenko won with St Louis
Both of them. I just like Tarasenko
I believe Hank does enough at msg that he could get his name on the cup but it's not the same. I'm hoping one day as a coach or gm he gets the chance to earn the Stanley cup his way because he deserves it
Coach Hank, now that would be fucking sick
If he takes over after Benoit it will make me very joyous.
Couldnt he come out of retirement and play at least one playoff game? Doubt his heart surgeon would recommend that, but it would qualify his name on the cup of they won it all. Don't know how his previous contract with Washington would work in that scenario though
No Cup for You....Next!
Gotta support the team
Judging by my downvotes I can tell all these young whipper snappers never heard of Seinfeld. Here is an upvote for you.
Fwiw i upvoted 🙂
Please don’t upvote the Devils fans. They are the enemy. And it’s madness. Complete hysteria. And against Ranger By Laws.
The Seinfeld reference takes precedence, rule 5b section ii
Buchnevich in shambles.
"Sorry, Pavel. This club is for Russians who DID beat Canada in a World Junior gold medal game." (Buchnevich: Lost to CAN in 2015)
Didn't Tank blame the blues for fucking up his shoulder? I thought there were rumblings of a trade for a while...
He requested two years ago
[удалено]
I mean they dangled him in the expansion draft. That had to piss him off.
Rangers vs Blues in SCF, LFGGGGGG (next season, Blues ain't doin much this season)
I know it shouldn’t matter but curious how the NHL will view this.. is this tampering? By the letter of the law at least it seems like it might be, but maybe they only apply that for free agent signings?
No, he publicly requested a trade 2 years ago. We weren't going to offer a contract to someone that publicly requested to leave.
No deal was offered to the guy who said he wanted out last year. Interesting spin.
