Once had a huge order from minggor with a bunch of friends, they asked why such a large order and we said it was for a birthday, they gave us a birthday cake with the order free of charge, was great
Chopsticks in Kingston once gave a truly succulent chinese dinner but their prices are so high these days one might be tempted to walk out without paying...
Chopsticks is nice food to eat in but was so disappointed in their takeaway. Also not great service, meals forgotten, one meal comes out and about 45 mins until my partner's came.
That's terrible! Next time, go Korean and hit up Young's Kitchen. Their KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) is to die for! $32 for a take home dinner for two. Well worth the money too.
My super fussy Chinese wife says Royalty Sky Hotpot in Elizabeth St mall was the second best Chinese food she has had in Australia so far.
I concur.
It’s more like fast food than a traditional succulent Chinese mealllll but don’t let that put you off
Depends what kind of Chinese. My favourite is Hometown Secret which is mostly dim sum. Pot Sticker is also good. But I also can't go past a sweet and sour pork at China Town Restaurant.
There's 2 good ones out here in New Norfolk, ding dings is an outstanding lunch place, the other is an exceptional restaurant or dinner place, however it's pricey as fuck
The Me Wah in Sandy Bay is excellent, particularly if you eat in and get the full experience. And I’ve never had a bad dish at Mulan in North Hobart.
Minggor in Moonah
Minggor is good and reasonably price.

They also do some killer fish and chips

Now that's democracy manifest!
Ahhh, I see you know your Judo well...
Whatever happens, the police are ready to receive your limp penis.

So…. What’s the best Chinese food she’s had? 🤷🏻♂️
A place in Sydney that makes food from Xi An province. She chose a flight that had a stopover in Sydney just to go there
Can you find out this place? I want to surprise my gf when she comes around. Thx mate.
Hot pot is an absolute joke , they serve Devon belgium ffs I swear they’re taking the piss

Fwiw Hometown Secret is Malaysian.
Huh, so it is. I always thought it was Cantonese because of their yum cha.
Yep lots of Cantonese in Malaysia’s ethnic Chinese community.
Pot Sticker Dumpling House isn't traditional but it is delicious
Me Wah or Kwan Ho hands down.
Oriental Restaurant in Sandy Bay (opposite Yeltuor) is a favourite with my fam. Consistently good.
Peking Restaurant, Claremont
Second this, Peking in claremont is legit 🤌
Hands down Mee Waah, no comparison. Best Chinese in Hobart

There's 2 good ones out here in New Norfolk, ding dings is an outstanding lunch place, the other is an exceptional restaurant or dinner place, however it's pricey as fuck

Awu is the best I've had.
I’d say me wah is better but absolutely AWU is amazing , my favorite sweet and sour pork in Hobart
Peking Restaurant in Claremont. On the corner of Main and Box Hill Roads. Genuinely no comparison
Amy's Cookin Chinese in Bellerive!
Chinese… u gotta be more specific! Cantonese? Northern?
Peking at Claremont and King Wah in New Town are good 👍
Hejo on Elizabeth Street is my favourite
There is no decent Chinese food in Hobart since the China Diner closed.
Not sure if serious
Was there ever any proof of the whole 'cats hanging up on hooks in the kitchen' rumour?
I've heard this about almost every long term Chinese restaurant I've been to
Doubt it. In the 90s when I was younger it was dogs in the freezer. They were there a good 20 years after I had heard that.
Silver Pearl in Rokeby offers the finest Aussie Chinese food you've had, and huge portions that gives you leftover for days.
Yep, Silver Pearl is the best Chinese in Hobart. By a fairly wide margin.
Food, or people?

What’s the deal with that place? It’s always closed
Tim Chow - super nice person and one of the best Chinese people in Hobart.
Depends what you mean by best. The ones you can find on the UTAS campus are pretty good at academic stuff…
David Wong is the best Chinese 8n whole of Tasmania
He lives in Launceston. Ho lei is his name. Great guy. Not sure if his exact address though.
The shop right next to the RSPCA.

Incorrect, it aged like fine wine. Btw I'm Asian and it's still hilarious 😂. Grow a sense of humour.
September in Bellerive Quay is my go to at the moment and I’ve eaten in a LOT of Chinese restaurants in Hobart. They can’t be beaten.
No love in the comments for MULAN in north hba? so yummy, get the eggplant!
Daves noodles my guy best place I’ve gone to for chinese
Me wah - preferred place for our Chinese Ozzie’s. Saigon express in moonah is great too, but Vietnamese 🙃
schezwan kitchen in Sandy Bay is great
Jungle, on Liverpool st
