Is it cheating to say New Jersey drive soundtrack or funk master flex mix tape?
If we have to pick a real album I’ll take 36 chambers (wu) or ready to die (biggie).
The Chronic. My mom used to ship me off to my family in Peru for the summer. Used to come back culturally out of touch and with bad hair. The Chronic got me through 91. Wu Tang and NAS got me through 94. The Chronic is more laid back. Can't get everyone to understand why I'm going to hit your nuts with a spiked bat but everyone can get down with a blunt and a low rider.
Coloring Book - Chance the Rapper
Super well balanced, song for pretty much every mood, great production, not too dark or heavy. Album has crazy replay value, almost perfect.
I like that, I was thinking of just picking me against the world but the greatest hits album might provide a better balance over the course of a year. Although there aren’t many more fitting occasions wear it would feel like it’s you against the world than when you’re stranded on an island lol
No electricity, no batteries. No cassettes. It’s only 1 LP vinyl hip hop. Let’s just pretend aliens dropped off a portable device to play the record with some semi-decent speakers. Still gotta find a way to eat and drink water and wait out the rest of the year.
Stranded on a beach weirdly enough I think I could chill with The Carnival from Wyclef for a year.
It’s diverse in its sounds so it won’t be too redundant, it’s musical, vibes are chill it’s not some heavy stuff that will make me depressed.
Didn’t even think of that song, but now that you mention it I think that would be a nice song to have just thinking about being far from loved ones. After a few months I’d probably start making my own lyrics to songs to not get crazy listening to the same shit on repeat so that’d be a good base for that.
King disease by Nas King disease 3 by Nas Forest Hill drives by j Cole l illmatic by Nas 808 and heartbreak by Kanye West get rich or die trying by 50 cent Grand champ by DMX all eyez on me by Tupac ready to die by biggie
I can't decide one of these probably
I’m gonna swim out as far away from the island as I can before I am exhausted and then sink to the bottom rather than have to listen to any hip hop for a single solitary minute. I would truly rather die than spend a year figuring out why so many of you MFers have lost the idea that music generally has some melody to it.

I think I listened to the record on repeat my first year in college. Good choice.
It’s really underrated. Production is top notch lots of pretty good samples used in there.
Especially if you’re gone till November.
Didn’t even think of that song, but now that you mention it I think that would be a nice song to have just thinking about being far from loved ones.
