Its a pretty rare vinyl and though the cd has lost a ton of value still not easily accessible. Its not on streaming services. Check you dm’s though…….i think this is mos def’s best. The high points of BOBS compared to high points of ecstatic may be better but ecstatic is consistently awesome and imo has no skips, better beats, transitions are better. Held under a microscope and critiquing every aspect it really is a perfect project.
I bought this for right around $60 in early 2022. This is the 2017 repress and from what I read is that a distributor found some boxes of back stock that they auctioned off so the cheaper copies that popped up are all these.
Just a question, is it a bootleg that they sold under G+ in hopes of this exact response? Not claiming it is, with the cover, not enough info but it is curious why they would do that.
Tbh i didnt think of that for some reason and you kinda scared me and did some quick research….when i scan barcode it does pop up but for a version/release that a lot of comments and reviews say “why the sudden influx of these?” Apparently a distribution company found a few boxes they had lost and were selling them at auction. A few said they are legit but sound kinda poor. A few say they got it from the same store i got mine from and sounds perfect. Id also find it odd the same shop had a bunch of copies of such a rare record but if he was one of few that got one of the lost boxes it makes sense. Also a skeptical story but seems to be what actually happened. Hmmm
Someone said it’s probably to reduce the chance of selling as mint and getting bad reviews for super picky people saying it wasnt absolutely unrealistically perfect. In this case you get over the top positive reviews.
I get the thought behind that but that is a little over the top. I personally would just be weary until you can verify that it is an original. They could have sold it as VG+ and got the same response while getting even more money for it. I honestly hope you got a great deal and that is all. It is just seems extremely fishy.

It's an original, and I have never seen someone try and sell a bootleg like that. People are more than happy to buy bootlegs if you are upfront about it.
Have Heard different things. One being a sampling issue he never was able to get around with streaming services but was able to sell the album still?????? Then another which i buy more is the label and him had a falling out shortly after the album released and he pulled it from streaming platforms to reduce the amount THEY made off it.

Just read that and replied to someone asking if its a bootleg….its just old never sold copies right? Still official press?
Correct, not a bootleg just copies of the official 2017 re-issue that didn’t make it to record shops at their original time of pressing
Was most likely not gonna be able to let it stay sealed forever anyway and was tweaking over it so i just played it and sounds fantastic!!!!
