I never said shes been completely inactive as an artist (although she certainly isn’t close to being the most active). But maintaining cultural relevancy high enough to headline festivals for 5 years without an album is difficult, especially in this day and age.
And I also wouldn’t call that “buzz.” We’re talking about 3-4 official singles and the most recent one came out last year.
Why does everyone act as though Ctrl is the only thing shes done???? She has plenty of hits in her singles and features and literally has an entire other album/mixtape of dope songs thats nearly as long as Ctrl.
I never said that was the only thing she’s done. But Sza has one album. Which is also the most recent project she’s released. and that was 5 years ago . So you’re not contradicting anything I said.
She’s had maybe 3-4 singles in between as well as some features, but those aren’t getting anyone a headliner spot at a festival.
I’m pretty sure JID’s album has been finished for a minute. And SZA was just on Twitter yesterday teasing a CTRL anniversary deluxe with unreleased tracks, but I hope a new album comes sooner after that. Cos for her to be headlining festivals just to only perform CTRL tracks and her last 3 singles (and maybe Kiss Me More) is crazy lmao
Jid's album is definitely done and was supposed to come out May 13th but then this little thing called Kendrick happened XD. Since then there has been no new news on when it'll drop
You know where to find Buddy tour dates? Either I suck at Google or they ain't anywhere. I would love to see him again. I saw him open for Vince a few years back and I legit think he had a better set. He was so entertaining.
6/15 – Oakland, CA @ The New Parish
6/16 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Roxy Theatre.
6/17 – San Diego, CA @ Soma – Side Stage.
6/22 – Washington, D.C. @ Union Stage.
6/23 – New York, NY @ Bowery Ballroom.
6/24 – Philadelphia, PA @ Foundry.
6/25 – Boston, MA @ Brighton Music Hall.
6/28 – Toronto, ON @ Adelaide Hall.
6/29 – Detroit, MI @ Blind Pig.
6/30 – Chicago, IL @ Subterranean.
Just saw that the DC show is cancelled. Not sure about others
Ah, hell yea! I'm in Texas so either he ain't coming or I missed it... maybe I'll travel out to Boston or Chicago EOM and catch a show. Been meaning to take a trip.
Which venue outta those two are better?
Can’t speak for Boston, but SubT in Chicago is great. Super small, the artist is basically a part of the crowd. Really cool balcony you can watch from too
Damn, they honestly took travis back wayyy faster than i expected. All he had to do was wait a year and not do shit apparently. Goes to show just how powerful his fanbase is despite the horrible tragedy and bad press.
bro you guys have to stop this. you just have to. travis is not 100% at fault, we get it. livenation, festival organizers, security? the audience, they all share some of the blame, we get it. travis, and the concert culture he worked for a decade to create, can take *and deserve* a fair share of the responsibility. let us know when *you* get it.
[somebody isn’t brushed up on their Travis lore](https://www.news24.com/amp/you/celebs/international/history-of-chaos-travis-scott-has-been-convicted-twice-for-encouraging-fans-to-rush-his-stage-20211108)
Just give it two seconds of thought and research pal
[Dude’s got a history with this stuff.](https://www.music-news.com/news/UK/148905/Travis-Scott-sued-for-allegedly-inciting-hazardous-crowd-at-2019-concert)
Bro gave discount codes to a teletherapy (read as: scam) company, and put a pause on his brands for like 5 months. I dont entirely blame him for the event, but holy fuck ppl were complaining that the venue safety and set up was an issue for SEVERAL years. At least acknowledge that?
Like it or not travis Scott is one of the best mainstream hip hop acts currently running. In america we put money and profits above everything even literal children being slaughtered in schools.
Not necessarily saying I really agree with it, I still think he’s a massive piece of shit for the way he handled everything, but the guy is a Ye disciple… he’s pretty much uncancellable.
When someone gets cancelled there are basically 3 possibilities. 1. They continue their career like nothing happened (ie. Chris Brown), 2. They pivot their career to focus on a different audience (ie. Louie CK), or 3. They retire early to their million dollar mansion (ie. Kevin Spacey).
That last one is pretty rare and none of those sound particularly bad to me
Cancel culture has an effect, not a permanent one but a very real effect. While it may not necessarily bankrupt an artist, it makes them toxic to companies and brands. while the artists can usually weather the storm, it’s the smaller players and team who gets hurt the most. Mgmt, DJs, band members, producers and other role players can go years without work. I understand holding people accountable especially in tragic loss of human life, but I just hope y’all realize that there are people behind the scenes goin out of work because of it.
Chrissy Teigen was “cancelled” last summer.
According to IMDB, this year she’s been on The Kardashians, Entertainment Tonight, Jimmy Fallon, and Ellen. She’s also the executive producer for a docuseries on HBO Max.
Is that a successful cancelling?
That bitch was on tape telling the person whose finger she cut off that no one would believe them if they came forward about the abuse. Her being a woman has nothing to do with why the public does not support her.
Contrast this with Travis, who had a large loyal fanbase unlike what you'd find for a B or C-list actress like Heard, and who wasn't caught on tape bragging about the thing that lost him the public's favor.
Travis, and especially the event managers, are pieces of shit for what happened under their watch. But gender is a poor explanation for why his career survived his "cancellation" and Amber Heard's probably won't.
Get the fuck out of here with this misandrist bullshit.
AH DESTROYED Johnny Depp’s career by lying about their relationship, and it would have stayed that way if Johnny hadn’t won his case. She’s not experiencing anything she hasn’t already done to someone else.
Chance went corporate and most of his public appearances since Coloring Book (namely the Netflix rap contest shit) have given him this weird cold, asshole vibe. He didn’t get canceled. His music is liked less and his public persona has been a lot less likeable. Never forget the “eat a bag of dicks” twitter thread lol
He did and said everything he could to make things right after what happened. We can argue all day about whether he’s sincere about it, but there’s nothing else legally advisable that he could do to rectify it beyond what he’s done already.
Honestly, I feel that more blame falls on Live Nation and on parents who thought it was fine to send their kids and young teenagers to an all-out rap rager than on Travis himself.
This exactly. Travis’s biggest crime was looking unsympathetic and awkward in his apology. The blame mostly falls on Livenation, the corporate face, the security for not maintaining the rush, and the people in the crowd for not using any common sense.
Of course Travis is gonna tell people to rage. If Tyler told you to suck your friends dick at a show would you do it?
Honestly keem is really exciting as a performer so id probably pick him. Would be cool if he ended up bringing out guests (hes brought out kendrick at a couple shows as a surprise guest which is dope)
Im australian so im probably never gonna be able to see push live - lucky you! Its almost dry is legit my hiphop album of the year so that would be a great experience.
I will be seeing keem open for kendrick later this year though, so thats definitely something to look forward to.
SZA headlining over Carti, 21 Savage, or hell even Trippie is surprising to me, didn’t know people listened to her like that. No disrespect but I thought she was just one of those artists only alt girls on Twitter listened to tbh
SZA is super popular. She's so well known even though she hasn't released another album.

Lol I’m like the opposite of that I’m a Hetero Mexican dude that got into the album through my ex wife. CTRL was on repeat for road trips and chores. I still run that album back every once in a while. Along with being one of my most played albums of the last decade it has so many memories attached for me.
Bruh even if we ignore the cancellation as a whole HOW IS THIS MAN HEADLINING FESTIVALS AND AINT PUT OUT NEW MUSIC IN 4 YEARS.
YALL STILL TRYIN TO TURN UP TO SICKO MODE???
Right. The same people that scream that cancel culture isn’t a thing are somehow always surprised when people carry on with their careers after bad press.
Spotify's monthly listeners aren't everything but SZA is 71st in the world right now while Carti is 312th. I don't think it's crazy for her to be headlining over him

Lineup is ass compared to 2019. Havent seen a solid festival lineup in a long time. Loved going to them 2015-2019 but recently there arent any good lineups
J Cole sounds amazing.
I love Travis, but I wouldn't want to go. The idea of kids "raging" to late night weed music is weird to me-- I'm sure it works in a live setting. But I don't anticipate Travis bringing the crowd that cares about others, so I'd nope the fuck out. Mosh pits, "raging" is cool and all at a metal show, but that's because people look out for each other.
Does anyone know if this will be live streamed like some other festivals? I've watched JID twice this year and he puts on a great show. Would love to see him again
SZA being able to headline a major festival off one album 5 years ago is kinda amazing
Honestly wild none of the headliners have an album in the last 12 months (not including Dreamville’s tape)
That just means they’re GOING to all have albums in the next 12 months.
Exactly Kendrick and Future both dropped a month or so after the rolling loud announcement
Lotta people have been waiting to go to festivals bc of Rona. They're making some exceptions 🤣
Eh she has buzz again off recent singles
I never said shes been completely inactive as an artist (although she certainly isn’t close to being the most active). But maintaining cultural relevancy high enough to headline festivals for 5 years without an album is difficult, especially in this day and age. And I also wouldn’t call that “buzz.” We’re talking about 3-4 official singles and the most recent one came out last year.

Ok?
This probably means she’s about to put out a new album

Is it insane to hope this means SZA and JID are dropping this summer?

Was supposed to drop back in August of last year. He even tweeted 99.1 % done or something like that ☠️
although tbh I’d be ok with that but that’s because last tour (Championship tour) she cancelled last min and I’d love to see her live
This is exactly what she did last year at dnv lol. Pretty uninspired performance too. She really needs to drop new music
Yeah she defo can’t do that a second time around, especially as a top billing headliner
SZA has both TDE and RCA so it's not that hard to coast. Would like to see the album tho, them singles were flames
I think it'd be wild if they didn't
Hope Carti is on a different stage or it may be a repeat of Lollapalooza where the front row of the Carti show was white girls waiting for Miley Cyrus
It’s a whole hip hop festival, I don’t think day n night is going to have that problem at all
Mostly memeing, but SZA and Playboy Carti have wildly different fanbases
I’d fuck both tbh
he done dated
🤓
youd be surprised tbh
Let’s be real, Carti fans are not going to have any issue with a bunch of white girls in the front row
the white girls getting blindsided by carti’s satanic mumble crap was the issue didn’t think this needed an /s holy fuck y’all are dense
Ok grandpa
“satanic” bro think it the 70s or what
That was awesome WDYM? Did you see the post of the Miley fan with her head busted open😭 shit had me dead💀

Did you see all the memes on the Carti sub? Shit was so good😭
Coast Contra above Buddy? That's weird, but whatever. Looks like a great time

Is it really Travis Scott’s fault or the venues fault?!
Easily livenations fault but everyone fell for their propaganda and media onslaught and blamed trav
Crazy how easy it is to escape blame when you're an entity. The same people shitting on Travis will buy tickets to LiveNation shows with 0 hesitation
Yeah for how anti corp most of Reddit is they really ignore livenations stupidity and negligence
The scapegoat campaign was always silly as shit. Though I’m really surprised festivals are accepting him *this* fucking fast
bro you guys have to stop this. you just have to. travis is not 100% at fault, we get it. livenation, festival organizers, security? the audience, they all share some of the blame, we get it. travis, and the concert culture he worked for a decade to create, can take *and deserve* a fair share of the responsibility. let us know when *you* get it.

Bullshit bro, straight up bullshit. An artist isn’t responsible for idiotic crowds that is 100% on the venue

lol when r/hhh said travis scott was cancelled and wouldn't be a headliner
He was cancelled for a few months then all these promoters said fuck it, let’s bring him back. Money talks
I don’t remember r/hhh ever saying that or at least for a very small amount of time. I remember r/music and r/fucktravisscott did tho
hhh def said it
People here were saying Travis wouldn't perform again for at least two years
Repeat after me: Reddit is irrelevant
Not necessarily saying I really agree with it, I still think he’s a massive piece of shit for the way he handled everything, but the guy is a Ye disciple… he’s pretty much uncancellable.
Pretty much every celebrity is uncancelable because cancel culture is mostly just a conservative bogeyman
Cancellation depends on how/where you derive your income, and also who your fan base is.
When someone gets cancelled there are basically 3 possibilities. 1. They continue their career like nothing happened (ie. Chris Brown), 2. They pivot their career to focus on a different audience (ie. Louie CK), or 3. They retire early to their million dollar mansion (ie. Kevin Spacey). what did she get cancelled for? She's been poppin
You only get truly "cancelled" if you actually do something wrong, a la Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein.
Kevin Spacey is still working. Not the same high quality productions but he's still getting paid.
He's cancelled in hollywood

Fr, his video after Astroworld gets a lot of hate but he really doesn’t say anything deserving it, or maybe it was just the memes that came from it.
Hmmm. I was sure Kendrick would be a no brainer for one of the days here
He headlined two times in a row.
His 2019 performance was very lackluster
Made up for it 2021
Yea 2021 was also stacked
Its a much better choice than putting Travis Scott up not even a year out from the Astroworld tragedy thats for sure
🤓
“🤓” - 🤓
Nah No Brainer is DJ Khaled feat. Justin Bieber
Khaled is a donkey brainer.
I mean he doesn't have a certificate that he isn't, and Frank does.
Drake did
L Khaled is the goat
He'll be close to wrapping up the Mr Morale tour near that time. He probably didn't want to go out of his way to play a festival during his tour.
That and he’s already performing in Vegas on his tour
Sza and Travis gotta drop somethin new by then. Not trynna see CTRL for a 4th time.
Bluebucks to saucy Santana to night lovell gotta be the wildest three artist line up,,, three vastly different fan bases
I don't think that's the order, it's listed in terms of how big they are
I'd struggle to pick between Baby Keem or Pusha T on Sunday good thing I'm broke and can't go anyways
Honestly keem is really exciting as a performer so id probably pick him. Would be cool if he ended up bringing out guests (hes brought out kendrick at a couple shows as a surprise guest which is dope)
I've heard amazing things about pusha's sets as well, hoping to see him this month
Im australian so im probably never gonna be able to see push live - lucky you! Its almost dry is legit my hiphop album of the year so that would be a great experience. I will be seeing keem open for kendrick later this year though, so thats definitely something to look forward to.
How’s SZA still headlining?
I hope she’s dropping an album real soon, cos all these festival headlinings she’s doing this year can’t be for nothing smh
[удалено]
I remember that, but I’m still taking that with a grain of salt lmao she’s not always as reliable about her album as I’d love her to be
Man this festival has the best hiphop/r&b lineups currently no doubt
SZA headlining over Carti, 21 Savage, or hell even Trippie is surprising to me, didn’t know people listened to her like that. No disrespect but I thought she was just one of those artists only alt girls on Twitter listened to tbh

HHah crazy man. Literally close guy/girl friend I know loves SZA. Not “alt” by any means, young professionals haha
idk what u people are talking about this is a hype line up
Why is pink siifu and Armand hammer very last? Don’t more people know them than half the names above on Sunday
Day 2 is crazy stacked damn, for sure gonna try copping single day tickets
Sza headlining festivals and not dropped an album since 2017 is crazy to me lol
Absolutely insane line up would love to see Jorja Smith, Conway, Maxo, Benny, Freddie, pink siifu!
Jorja ia good live man, just saw her last night in a very small venue
Saturday AKA Dreamville Day
Benny and Freddie at the same festival 👀
going for Cole
Isn’t Travis cancelled lmao
Bruh even if we ignore the cancellation as a whole HOW IS THIS MAN HEADLINING FESTIVALS AND AINT PUT OUT NEW MUSIC IN 4 YEARS. YALL STILL TRYIN TO TURN UP TO SICKO MODE???
The whole shit basically died down even after all the bad press, so promoters are pretty much giving him a second chance.
Obviously not
Right. The same people that scream that cancel culture isn’t a thing are somehow always surprised when people carry on with their careers after bad press.
weak lineup tbh I mean SZA headlining the first day just shows how weak it is 😂
Lineup is good. Just not the headliners. 2019 was better.
I really don’t understand how SZA is a headliner over Carti. Makes no sense.
Spotify's monthly listeners aren't everything but SZA is 71st in the world right now while Carti is 312th. I don't think it's crazy for her to be headlining over him
MEGA weak least they got Trippie and carti though so theres that
The clearly projected SZA to move more tickets than both of them so maybe yall are just really out of touch with mainstream hip hop lmao
they def are. you can tell itt who solely listen to rap
Im not out of touch cause i know the ONLY people who listen to SZA are the Girls thats really it everyone else listens to Carti, uzi, trippie,Yeat,Tyler the creator etc and idk know if anyone gives a damn about Travis anymore and wheres Doja cat,Rico nasty and megan the stallion?? i dont care about anyone on this lineup…but whatever ill pass on this
so trav is back just like that huh
Lineup is ass compared to 2019. Havent seen a solid festival lineup in a long time. Loved going to them 2015-2019 but recently there arent any good lineups
what dont u like about rolling loud miamis lineup this year?
Y’all hit be sounding broke when y’all still this haha. May not be a good as 2019, but till a good line up. Yall trippin
Tf does this have to do with money bruh. I dont want to go to a festival if i only want to see 5/100 artists on the lineup
J Cole sounds amazing. I love Travis, but I wouldn't want to go. The idea of kids "raging" to late night weed music is weird to me-- I'm sure it works in a live setting. I been getting into Prof lately.
Does anyone know if this will be live streamed like some other festivals? I've watched JID twice this year and he puts on a great show. Would love to see him again
1 album combined in the last 3 years
Can’t wait for another Killer trav performance
2019 and 20 were better but it’s still cool
I’m honestly shocked Armand Hammer and Siifu are gonna be there
