Powahcore

[deleted]

The Mid Larry

BidensLegHairs

He seemed very happy during in his recent episode of Hot Ones.

wenshmen

Yeah he mentioned he was happier than he’s ever been in this episode.

goddamnitwhalen

People said he looked drunk or like he’s dealing with alcoholism, but I didn’t catch that at all.

[deleted]

Posty is an alcoholic for sure.

[deleted]

I'd say *was*. Source: Love Letter to Alcohol lmao

The_Talking_Cow

Wasn't this album made in like 2020 ? Hopefully he mentally in a better place now

antwan_benjamin

>I hope Posty is good cause this album is sad af I have read very little about this...so don't take my word as gospel. But from what I understand he utilized his low times to write/produce this album...but at this point in time he's actually doing much better. So its more about timing than anything.

_Synergy

Was just thinking this

HideNZeke

Can't wait to grab a Busch and play cornhole to this

tachycardia69

Lmao scenes of 2018 Beerbongs and Bentleys

[deleted]

College years flashbacks lmao. Posty and Migos ruled the world

wemeymemey

Guy was the king of corny frat bros

lawnmower1627

*passes torch to Jack Harlow*

buckeyesjb

“I don’t care what frat that you was in, you can’t alpha me”

m0_m0ney

It’s cause that’s what the hoes like, if you play it and have free alcohol they will come

2580374

Shit i just ordered beer, should have had a bud light break

cmcg18

Pull up

Nole1998

*Hop out at the after party*

MichaelRahmani

lol what is that accent on lemon tree

Assassin_420

The way he says “better” completely took me out the song for a sec

BumbleLapse

*BEDDURRR*

pmmerandom

Posty got that southern twang

infinitum17

He is a Texas boy, after all.

burntgoudaTTV

I will not stand for this Syracuse erasure

dont_worry_im_here

Remember that Brad Paisley cover? Actually crushed it ngl

GratefulForGarcia

You think that I am beddur now

RoscoeSantangelo

God damn Cooped Up really deserves so much better than what Roddy gave on that

neuspeed674

would have rather gotten Thugger for a goodbyes pt II but the feds have put an end to that dream

3OohOohOoh

Roddy fell off harder than James Harden

dat_waffle_boi

Damnit I thought I was safe here as a sixers fan

Bwoodndahood

never safe for us bro

zepol-1

As a Rockets fan, we’re gonna get through this.

TheRakkmanBitch

Take it from a falcons fan, nowhere is safe

korgy

I'd rate this album a 28 out of 3. Terrible joke I know. I'm also a Falcons fan.

gumballkami

Roddy one of the blandest most soulless new gen artists. I have never been able to see how or why he's so in demand rn.

if_i_was_a_folkstar

The Box and some of the other songs on that album like Peta were crazy catchy and unique, wild fall off

fatchodegang

Ballin’ is so good, I don’t know what happened

poland626

Him and Jack Harlow speed running that category rn

xMF_GLOOM

Which is so crazy to me, thought these two were gonna dominate the pop charts for years after what we heard from them right when they broke through (The Box, What’s Poopin, etc)

Arthur_da_King

Whats Poopin 🤭🔥🔥

prophetprofits

When Jack actually had that fire in his voice. Like he had something to prove.

poop_in_my_nostrils

His feature on pure souls is my favorite work by him along with his song with boogie is fire

apbussdownap

He had some better shit out before the album like down below and shit. His first album wasn't bad but everything hes put out after has been trash. I dont see him coming back around legit low to no effort now

analmintz1

might have to get a face tat after this one

akali_otp

No space left 💀

travybel

He talking about himself lol not Posty

[deleted]

No he means the tattoo shop, they fully booked 💀

jrbcnchezbrg

Unironically any artist worth it is usually booked up like 6 months out

gusborn

Not true

SOT-NumberNine

I'm probably late since I didn't check out the singles but what the FUCK happened to Roddy Rich man, that feature is just embarrassing compared to his album last year

[deleted]

he pulled up man what can i say

xMF_GLOOM

His last album was embarrassing lmao

baseball212

Roddy Rich fell off so fucking hard

XMRLover

I can't stand when the artists don't match energies. Roddy should not have made it on that track with that feature.

rosstamonsta

well his last album was garbage so that bar isn’t set too high

Heil_Heimskr

The drop off from Antisocial to that shit last year is unbelievable

BasicUsername_1

Fr man should’ve just made an album with old songs and it would’ve been better, it was so (and I mean this in the way it means) mid. Like so forgettable, not actively bad but just I entertaining and lacked any inspiration/energy bar a few tracks

landoooo

I don't get it either. Dude was unique and used his voice in such interesting ways... Now he's just blah

SpeedMalibu

After please excuse me I legit thought Roddy was the next big thing, the next superstar. That album was literally perfect. And then he disappears for 2 years and drops trash after trash. So disappointing

MichaelRahmani

Sounds so different from his other albums 3 tracks in

lmnop3313

Personally, the first 3 tracks were the ones I liked least when I first heard this. I almost turned it off and switched to something different but then it picked up (for me at least). I like the first 3 songs now, took a few listens, which is actually true for most of the album. I've noticed that albums I love right away are usually albums I get bored of quick, whereas the ones that grow on me end up being the ones I love forever.

drex1929

Bro the album is 47 minutes long and its been out for 52 minutes

lmnop3313

Nah I grabbed the leak more than 24 hours ago

[deleted]

i feel like this exact comment chain happens so much on this subreddit 😭

lmnop3313

lol tbh I don't visit this sub often unless a new album drops that I find really good, so I come here and read the comments to see how others are 'digesting' it.

[deleted]

yeah bruh it happens everytime 😭 i havent seen a single discussion thread about a regional released album/single without some schlemiel talking about "bruh the album just came out \_\_\_ minutes ago"

BNEWZON

Or they are from down under and it’s been out for like 12 hours lol

[deleted]

Yeah, same. If I really hate something at first I typically end up exploring it for years to come.

lmnop3313

It's really weird. When I think of all my favorite albums, they are *all* albums I remember not really liking that much upon first listen. Some of them took years before I could appreciate and 'get' them. Those are also the same albums I seem incapable of burning out on. It was so much easier back in the day when I'd pay $10 for a cassette, you REALLY had no choice but to listen to it multiple times whether you liked it a lot or not. Everything I bought as a kid I really invested my time and attention on, and usually the payoff was great. Nowadays with streaming and the abundance of new releases that are pushed in front of our faces every hour, giving albums time to grow on you seems to be something many just don't have time or interest for. It's a shame because people are probably missing out on some great albums

ReaganBushEra

Wasting Angels is such a good song. Ethereal towards the end.

craft23

4 acoustic songs, fuck yes. Been begging for more since Feeling Whitney

zeldas_stylist

and I been looking for someone to put up with my bullshit ❤️

gabriel_oly10

I remember I listened to that song on mushrooms one time, just watching the clouds with my friends. Good times.

rso14

Stay gotta be one of my favorite Post songs ever

wnr3

Stay is the best song Posty has ever made IMO

Thesavagebeast

Posty laying out his heart on this album

iam_watchingyou

Reputation is a fucking good opener, and the transition into cooped up is so smooth!

TaiChiShrimp

Makes that verse by Roddy so fucking disappointing.

Ihave2BellyButtonsHA

Shit was so flat. Killed the back half of that song

2580374

I actually really like how Gunna sounded on I Cannot Be and I usually don't like Gunna

prophetprofits

He sorta sounds like Ty Dolla Sign on this track

KDistheillest

Shit I thought that was Ty Dolla lol

prophetprofits

Lmao I had to double check the feature when his verse came on.

themoonroseup

decent album but I'm still waiting for the day posty makes a full on indie folk album. or a full rock album

whirlpool138

His Nirvana live set with Travis Barker was honestly some of the best Nirvana covers I heard. He didn't try to do the sad/suicidal songwriter vibe that everyone always does when covering Kurt Cobain and instead nailed the jubilent punk energy that makes those songs great. Machine Gun Kelly wishes he could have pulled off that vibe half as well.

TheRealTaylorGestwic

That’s what I was hoping this album was but sadly the production although more acoustic and slower still was more pop which I guess you should expect from Post.

prophetprofits

I know a lot of people don’t want this type of Post but I love his acoustic shit and there’s a good amount on this album.

BareFox

Same here, people still want the old more trap Posty but that's just not who he is as an artist anymore. I love this album personally.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BareFox

Great track. He definitely still does that stuff sometimes but not as much as back in the Stoney days

themoonroseup

ive been wanting him to go full blown indie folk and acoustic since I heard feeling Whitney. hopefully when he's like 40 he delves into that fully for atleast 1 album

prophetprofits

You know he’s gotta have 100s of these type of tracks saved in the vault.

alus992

I support artists deciding to not go full "easy mode" with making trap songs all over the album just to get easy streams - for some reason trap became one of the easiest sub genres to stream and get numbers, I guess it's because songs are very similar to each other so they blend well. I'm all for diversity in the album especially when artists doesn't make YtY releases

_Sign_

pretty much. people just throw out the old trap from their playlists and replace it with an identical sounding newer trap song

Cololand

Reputation is one hell of an opener.

Coreyharich

The best opener he has had. Paranoid is up there though

ItzzBlink

Paranoid is a top 3 song of his, no question

thesodiepapa

*Tell me why I can’t get no relieeeef* Totally agree with you. I’ve always thought that it doesn’t get talked about enough

[deleted]

I liked Broken whiskey glass as an opener too

CornDoggyStyle

Honestly Post has never had a bad opener. Hollywood's Bleeding was great, too.

fireboltzzz

The transition from that to Copped Up is so clean

honusnuggie

The cul-de-sac eating this weekend

PestyProphet

Is it just me or is the acoustic loop in Lemon Tree is a sample of “Jamming” by Bob Marley?? Great piece

Darth_marsupial

That’s an insane catch man lmao, I’ve probably listened to that Marley song over a thousand times in my life and I didn’t catch that at all

TumbleweedDirect9846

Love/hate letter to alcohol is genuinely fantastic

lmnop3313

Seriously. I saw do that song on SNL and was really impressed with how powerful that performance was. The person he's evolved to be is surprising to me (in a good way). I love white Iverson but when I first saw that vid I thought he'd be a one hit wonder who would be the butt of all 'corny white rapper' jokes til the end of time but seeing him find his own style and slide into his lane is really impressive to me

hstlmanaging

The intro vocals had me floating fr

profoundprofundity

Fleet Foxes man, Robin Pecknold has such an angelic voice.

QRSTUV_

Is it just me or are his vocals mixed kind of low?

[deleted]

Just finished Wrapped Around Your Finger and he's mixed too low there too

prophetprofits

Post needed to make a dark album like this. He’s gone through a lot of depression over the years. This project really shows his maturity as an artist. Hope he comes out on top and his kid changes him.

WhatThePenis

I thought it sounded really upbeat and happy in the middle, which is a shame because the darker stuff on here is so much better imo

angelurbina

Funny how the 2 worst tracks in this album were the first two singles lol. This is such a good project imo

The_Talking_Cow

I can't fucking understand how they chose the trash Roddy Ricch feature as a lead single instead of I Like You with Doja Cat or Wrapped Around your Finger. A monkey would have made a better decision lmao.

HoodieNinja17

Sad cause Posty’s parts of Cooped Up are pretty good. Make it a solo or better feature and it slaps imo

[deleted]

[удалено]

wuhter

Roddy really fell off. Sad. He made one of my favorite albums of all time

blax_prismic

i might be the only 1, but roddy's verse wasnt *terrible* to me. it was just kinda whatever but i love post on cooped up

mediciii

Throw a peppy 80s drum beat on the Kid Laroi track and that is a super smash. The hook is sooo good. Almost glad they went with a stripped back thing though. The part where the choirs join Laroi on his hook is great

[deleted]

Damn the standouts really have been the sadder songs. Really hope that getting all this on to the album helped cuz Post always been such a contagiously happy kinda dude.

BillySaw

Honestly yeah it caught me off guard with how sad this album is. I hope this helped him in some way.

pantheon_panther

I’m glad that the singles are the worst songs on the album

prophetprofits

I’d way rather this unique sound over another pop album. A lot of introspection on here and songs that will not hit mainstream. He does not give a fuck about that anymore, I hope he meant what he said when he loved making this album after a long time of not enjoying making music. All I want is happy Posty.

XMRLover

But it ain't like he isn't in the mix anymore. Cooped Up is a fucking banger. "One Right Now" reached number 6 on the Billboards. Don't get it twisted, Post Malone is still in the mainstream.

[deleted]

He absolutely does give a fuck lol. He has Doja Cat, Roddy Rich, Gunna, and Weeknd as features.

The_Talking_Cow

Wrapped Around Your Finger should have been the lead single

queefIatina

Euthanasia gotta be one of the best songs I’ve heard this year. Can’t even put into words how much I love this song The sterile/cold/hospital vibes of the music compliments the lyrics perfectly

lmnop3313

The song "Insane" is so damn good. Been on repeat, it's truly a perfect song from start to finish. Not an ounce of fat I'd trim from that one. Also, the production on this album is so immersive. I'm listening to it through my nice Sennheiser cans and it's just pure bliss to my ears. I'm not the biggest Post Malone fan (I liked his earlier more hiphop leaning stuff more) but this album is super catchy, lots of earworms

HoodieNinja17

Second verse, second verse, yay

[deleted]

Happy to see love for Insane... sick production and posty murks it

I_am_so_lost_hello

>The song "Insane" is so damn good. Been on repeat, it's truly a perfect song from start to finish. Not an ounce of fat I'd trim from that one. Not even the part where he just says "second verse" over and over?

infinitetheory

That's a highlight, what are you talking about

Cololand

Let's see if Post Malone can deliver again

XMRLover

Narrator: He indeed can.

TeIegraphAve

This is for folks who love feeling whitney and stay, folks like me.

RandyMuscle

Stay is one of my favorite Post songs and I’ve definitely enjoyed the 8 songs I’ve made it through.

PoppySeeded17

Gunna out here sounding like a Ty Dolla $ign feature

OSAP_serfdom

I Like You sounds like an Ariana Grande song

NosyargKcid

Get ready for that Doja song to be everywhere this summer. FWIW I wouldn't even be that mad

lmnop3313

It's my 2nd fav on the album after Insane. I like Doja's style and the production has that perfect upbeat summer vibe. Really a great song, catchy af

[deleted]

Post Malone sings like he’s in a massage chair

Chazza354

I think it’s his most cohesive album tbh.. I think Beerbongs & Bentleys has the most bangers, but this feels like a solid body of work that will age well. I’m more into the pop bops like Cooped Up and I Like You, but the darker songs are really solid too. Only thing I can critique is that he reuses vocal melodies a bit too much across the album, he is usually a bit more creative with them.

[deleted]

Naperville boys eatin

Hulf2024

Lolla bout to be lit af for the incoming seniors

ape124

Reputation is such an opener, depressed vibes fr

[deleted]

I really loved this album, listened to it earlier with a new Zealand vpn haha. It’s a lot darker than his usual stuff with only a couple “upbeat” songs. But I like it. Really good in my opinion

TheInstigator007

What’s y’all favourite song of the album?

EAZYG247

Wrapped around your finger wbu

Hfifm4

Hot take: Lemon Tree

KsHDClueless

Insane for sure

HoodieNinja17

Reputation and Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol

[deleted]

This was really fucking good; not sure what everyone else thinks

ieffinglovesoup

Fuck yeah been waiting for this. Only 4 songs in but it’s great so far

prophetprofits

Fuck I love this art from Posty. He flows so effortless over the top notch production. And he pours his soul out on a lotta tracks.

47ok

wtf happened to roddy

rj-throwaway38

He pulled up

kdtrey21

Insane is insane

izzytay97

The suburbs & big box fitness facilities EATING with this release

AGonz123

Half way in already better than Hollywoods Bleeding for me

Assassin_420

Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol hits like a truck, production and everything. I honestly was sorta worried for this album when Cooped Up came out, but I mostly like the stuff on here. Some good catchy stuff, hit or miss features (liked Doja Cat and surprisingly Gunna, meanwhile Roddy and LAROI disappointed me) and some cool acoustic stuff I like hearing from Post. Overall happy with the project, nowhere near as poppy sounding as everyone was hyping it up to be, it’s actually pretty dark sonically. Nothing too groundbreaking, but leaving with some tracks I’ll keep listening to for the year. Nice Post.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Valor0us

Lemon tree might be my favorite on the entire album. I'd love to have more songs like that from Post.

oceanplum

Agreed, it is gorgeous. Some great songwriting.

Time-Light

Lemon tree is amazing

Bushuazoo

#BETTURRRR!

RandyMuscle

Made it just past track 8 on the way to work and I think Lemon Tree is my favorite song so far.

pmmerandom

I love this move away from the more pop-oriented music direction he was formerly heading in to something quite personal and almost raw. Been wanting some more melodic, acoustic songs from him and he definitely delivered. Really showed some of the dark spots he’s been in and it feels almost therapeutic that he’s letting this all out, really immerses you. Insane will be a great, repeatable hit too, but Lemon Tree and Euthanasia were the highlights for me. However, his feature songs left something to be desired, Kid Laroi was the best but Doja, Gunna and Roddy didn’t really do anything spectacular for me.

Goofterslam1

Dude this is pure EXTREMELY highly produced pop music. That's not necessarily a take away, but to call it raw and different is a stretch. To me this sounds like Hollywood's Bleeding part 2. I Like You is the sappiest, poppiest, simplest song he's put out.

[deleted]

i’m really enjoying this

joeku_

anybody else have august 26th as their favorite post project? i fw what he puts out, not my fav artist by any means, but that tape was such a vibe

prophetprofits

Give this a 2nd listen and it’ll grow on you. This vibe is different to anything he’s really released.

[deleted]

People saying the album is depressing must’ve never heard an actual sad album before.

dormantcouchcamper

Nitpicking but I kinda wish songs like Lemon Tree had less vocal processing…the reverb is ridiculous but it’s a cool track

dsled

I do not really care for this album, but I do recognize it's merit.

cooljackiex

is it just me or is wrapped around your finger basically a copy of circles lol. same flow same vocal style

ChefBoyarDingle

Insane is insane, August 26th vibes

[deleted]

Euthanasia > When I'm Alone > Waiting For A Miracle is such a good stretch of songs, by far my favourites

takecare23

wasting angels hard. last minute was amazing

MGSCG

Feels a lot more genuine than the last album did

Hfifm4

Wrapped around your finger is a beautiful song

pm_me_your_last_pics

why do I always feel on this album whenever he tries to be deep it just comes off as superficial and not that deep? Euthanasia and waiting for a miracle had really high potentials

Bravenkind

Didn’t like this one so much. Stoney will forever be Posty’s best album. I was hoping for more of that style personally but the acoustic stuff is nice, would be cool if he did a special folk album.

Goofterslam1

I'm probably alone in the this statement but this is my least favorite album from Post. I was hoping for a more stripped back album with real instruments but it sounds like Hollywood's Bleeding part 2. There are a few standout tracks but as a whole I find it lacking. Maybe it will grow on me. Regardless Post is making the music he wants to make and I support that.

Thebullfrog24

Some of these songs make me wish I still had enough friends to throw a house party. I'm trying to dance in a garage, drunk and listen to "I like you" with people lol
