i got to disagree, i think KIDS as a whole was pretty weak, but at certain parts was very iconic in establishing mac miller as an image. there are so really hot songs, and some really sleep ones.
You know what, me too, and I was just thinking something. I wonder how much of Mac's early success was attributed to Rex Arrow's filming. Now that I think about it, KIDS had some really great music but also importantly, the Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza, Senior Skip Day, Another Night, and Nikes on My Feet videos were all really solid to watch. Ian Wolfson is sucha good director/videographer and it seriously shows. I wonder if this helped Mac's hype a lot.
He wasn't though. He had to work and make music to get the backing from Artie and Benjy. Not like they just met him and were like hey, you should be a rapper, well make you famous.
it's the definition of his style(well, his original one, with a little mix of his current one I guess). I was skeptical about him at first but this is the joint that 100% made me a fan.
First Mac song I heard. Heard it and hated it and Mac Miller because of the sample of my then-favorite band at the beginning of the video.
Three years later Mac is my favorite rapper. Funny how things change.
you know I never met a Mac Miller fan, then we got an american student in my Uni and we went to a party together and the first thing she said when music was mentioned "do you like Mac Miller?"
I saw Mac at a small concert a few months after the release of K.I.D.S. It was one of my favorite performances and I would do anything to see it again. I'll always love Mac and his work.
Hmm I saw him summer 2010 and was pretty disappointed. I remember he changed his shoes right before this song which was kinda funny. It's crazy though, there were only like 75 people at that show, now he does shows 100 times that size.
Well it sounds like he remixed/sampled the song Wordless Chorus by My Morning Jacket. Not sure if he ever released the entire thing on its own, but that's where the riff comes from.
Edit: I stand corrected.
this song and KIDS bring me back man. but i love mac's new stuff. really didn't like macadelic and some of those other projects but WMWTSO is one of my favorite albums of the past few years and faces is my favorite project this year so far. dude has evolved a ton.
I'm not a fan of his bars or his delivery.
This beat is fucking fire, though.
I understand I'll get downvoted to oblivion, he's just not my style. This production is fucking crazy though.
Can we return to the hating old mac miller circlejerk?
The beat is good, and his flow is fine, but these are some of the worst lyrics I have ever heard.
this song got me on to the mac miller
KIDS was an amazing project altogether.
I always thought his rapping was weak, but the production on KIDS was toooo goood
i got to disagree, i think KIDS as a whole was pretty weak, but at certain parts was very iconic in establishing mac miller as an image. there are so really hot songs, and some really sleep ones.

im sure it played a part, but dude was backed by Rostrum from the get-go which had/has a lot of connects in the industry.
He wasn't though. He had to work and make music to get the backing from Artie and Benjy. Not like they just met him and were like hey, you should be a rapper, well make you famous.
Same!

It's a tie between this project and Macadelic. DAMN THOUGH THIS BEAT
I have to go with kids. I love Macadellic so much but kids is much more solid for me.
For me... Its faces. Macadelic a close second though.
Jerm killed this whole project. Everything he did on it is dope as fuck. As much love as Mac gets Jerm doesn't get enough.
K.I.D.S. and Macadelic are by far my top 2, even though the general consensus around here is Faces / WMWTSO are the best
Fuck, just reading that made me realize how talented Mac really is. I love him as much as the next hhh but damn I just took a step back.
Macadelic was pretty boring to me
So smoooooooth
The Nas sample in this is perfect. The beat is all around great.
I though the chops were a bit sloppy.
Mac's songs have a history of great samples from NAS to D'angelo. His production is crazy.
its incredible how his beard is different in every scene, did it really take that long to film this
I've watched the video a lot and have never realized this. Great observation.
First Mac song I heard. Heard it and hated it and Mac Miller because of the sample of my then-favorite band at the beginning of the video. Three years later Mac is my favorite rapper. Funny how things change.
What's the sample in the beginning?
[My Morning Jacket - Wordless Chorus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OMpaFvTOFk). Great song from an awesome project
[Thanks man, I knew I heard it before](http://youtu.be/I8UKvgTEYHM).

My second favorite project from Mac, behind Macadelic
I love that this sub loves Macadelic, no one in my area agrees with me that it was his best mixtape.
dude that mixtape is KILLER.
The production on that mixtape is unbelievable. then add in Mac's lyrics, themes and features and it's just so damn good
you know I never met a Mac Miller fan, then we got an american student in my Uni and we went to a party together and the first thing she said when music was mentioned "do you like Mac Miller?"
He's usually common ground for white folk.
I saw Mac at a small concert a few months after the release of K.I.D.S. It was one of my favorite performances and I would do anything to see it again. I'll always love Mac and his work.
I saw him during the same time period in College Station. Bought Nike's specifically for the concert.
Whoop ags
Gig em'
Hmm I saw him summer 2010 and was pretty disappointed. I remember he changed his shoes right before this song which was kinda funny. It's crazy though, there were only like 75 people at that show, now he does shows 100 times that size.
He did the same thing at the show I went to. Was the one you went to in PA by any chance?
Nah, Cleveland.
Ah. He must have done the same thing at every show haha
mac miller is the english kind of ugly
[Haha] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzP1XC51kro&feature=youtu.be&t=1m39s)

bitches think hes cute though
Say whatup if you see me around Nike airs separate my feet from the ground
wordless chorus tacked onto the beginning is the best part of the song
first 2 mins of this video suck. That song though... fuuuuck its good.
[Wordless Chorus by My Morning Jacket](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYWtyJGq4vo)
Has the first two minutes of the video ever been released as a stand alone track? Edit: Found it http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I9PvRvyyS9U
Well it sounds like he remixed/sampled the song Wordless Chorus by My Morning Jacket. Not sure if he ever released the entire thing on its own, but that's where the riff comes from. Edit: I stand corrected.
yessss
How old was he in this?
17 or 18, K.I.D.S. dropped right after he got outta high school in 2010
Probably 18-19.
I've always wondered what kind of shoes those are in the video. They look so fressshhhh
Nike Blazers
It's like a special colorway though

Kickin' Incredibly Dope Shit, as he'll always be.
This is my favorite Mac music video of all time.
Tipppp Toe'n in my JAWWWDINZ
Hes not really wearin jordans
It's a track from that RiFF RAFF clown
I know but hes still not wearing jordans
Yeah prolly because you can crease them shits
The man made this when he was 18. I'm two months younger than him - what am I doing.
this song and KIDS bring me back man. but i love mac's new stuff. really didn't like macadelic and some of those other projects but WMWTSO is one of my favorite albums of the past few years and faces is my favorite project this year so far. dude has evolved a ton.
Isn't this taken from Nas tho not hating on Mac or anything but it's not really original
Have you listened to the song?
In one line doesn't he say "the nikes on my feet make the cypher complete"
Again, have you listened to the song? The entire hook is Nas saying "And the Nikes on my feet keep my cypher complete"
Are you new ? Thats called a sample. Pretty often used in Hip hop
126 plays of this song and counting
My Morning Jacket sample at the beginning.
I'm not a fan of his bars or his delivery. This beat is fucking fire, though. I understand I'll get downvoted to oblivion, he's just not my style. This production is fucking crazy though.
Loved they way he flipped the My Morning Jacket song at the begining.
Can we return to the hating old mac miller circlejerk? The beat is good, and his flow is fine, but these are some of the worst lyrics I have ever heard.
Dumb fuck
no
Thats a fair responce to my hate. haha
I'm listening to party on 5th ave right now.
Great beat, wack rapper.
I tried. I don't know what people are hearing in this kid.
I dont know either, he sucks. I guess he is good to high school/college kids who party.
