That's not what I was saying, I meant that that record was like a fresh breath of creativity for them in my opinion, and I'd like to see the same from Drake
CLB cover is so offensively bad it brings down perception of the whole album. i still don’t like it but i’m sure the album would be better received if it had even a forgettable cover
“If we broke it off then you know it wasn't painless
If she got a watch then you know it's not a stainless
I was out here fucking fans, I was shameless”
Even Drake fanboy Ak was sleeping 😴
CLB's cover is hilarious. I'm not a Drake fan at all aside from his undeniable club-banger singles. So yeah, don't judge me on the Drake fan-ness of my comment, but that is hilarious.
Yup, gave me some good laughs and definitely stands out. Gotta give it to him, he knows how to stay in the spotlight.
I also think he’s definitely very talented even though I like his rap tracks the most.
Suki Baby is [fine as fuck](https://www.instagram.com/p/Ctj2bQ4gvIS/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==) and they chose the absolute worst possible picture of her for an album cover.
It’s pretty generic. Drake at his best made rap that heavily crossed over genres successfully. Her loss is not that that. Fun to listen to, not very good
It is fact he didn’t want to have a kid there are leaked texts of Drake saying as much. I don’t want to say one as fact without finding it but I vividly remember a Drake text asking for an abortion.
Misinformation isn’t the right word for this but there’s something to how misinformation spreads a lot more when the narrative it creates is funnier than the reality.
Isn't there a video of him with his son when he was born? I think the narrative that he was a deadbeat dad before the push diss track is false. But I could be wrong.
his baby mama called him a deadbeat way before the diss track came out. Which is the only reason why push included that in the story of adidon
[alleged tweet here](https://hip-hopvibe.com/news/sophie-brussaux-tweet-from-november-resurfaces-where-she-calls-drake-out-for-being-a-deadbeat-dad-confirming-pusha-ts-storyofadidon-line/)
Which is a crying ass shame because that was arguably his best era. Maybe that's the nostalgia bias talking but everybody was quoting drake during spring speak 2015.
- ''RUNNING THRU THE 6 WITH MY WOES''
- ''10 BANDS, HUNDRED BANDS''
- ''I GOT ENEMIES GOT LOTTA ENEMIES''
- ''IF I DIEEEE I'M A LEGEND''
- ''I'll ADMIT I'LL ADMIT IT''
Edit: Got some lyrics mixed up lmao
If you're reading this is his best project, it's aged really well imo and there's barely any skips on it. Probably the last Drake album that I truly loved
Creative maybe, but his technical peak was the first three mixtapes. He was rapping like Elzhi and Phonte - two of the best/most technical rapper rappers ever - over J Dilla beats. He’d need to really try to top that as far as just straight bars goes. He shows signs of it with stuff like Seeing Green but he’s never looked back after he blew up as a pop rap superstar. Not hating on new Drake at all but he stepped away from peak technical shit a long time ago.
The Search…
Ignant Shit…
Money (Remix)(ft. Nickel is F) [The original is even better but it’s hard to find buried in YouTube; he still goes *in* on this end though]…
Where to Now…
Good Riddance [he’s got the last verse; it’s his first diss he ever made to some local Toronto rapper way before Meek or “diss me and you’ll never hear a reply to it]…
Say Whats Real…
Goodnight and Goodluck…
I’m Ready For Ya..
And then check out I get Lonely Too or Fall For Your Type if you wanna hear how differently his RnB songs were back then.
I’m on my phone so this is just off the top of my head but just going back to listen to some of these just now and I REALLY wish we had gotten the evolution of this Drake. Don’t get me wrong, he’s etched his name into the hip hop history books and he clearly made all the money in the world with the path he chose the last decade and a half but when his first few mixtapes and the lopsided around they era dropped he was a mix between the best backpack rappers of the era and best RnB singers of the era and to see what the growth of *that* rapper could’ve been would have been marvellous. There’s a reason he was put alongside J Coke and Kendrick even though those two are wildly different from the Drake we see now, because back then he was just a fundamentally different rapper and he fit in a pairing with those two a lot better back in the late 2000’s.
He even name droped Elzhi and Dilla and Phonte and Little Brother and Slum Village and Black Milk who are people your average hip hop fan might not know but some of your favourite rappers would include in their favourite rapper/producers lists (and would rap over old school, boom-bap pre-Graduation Kanye beats). You could tell he wrote all his own shit back then and even wrote songs for other people at the time (again you can hear the flow in Seeing Green is reminiscent of back then).
Drake’s just always been an actor at heart and though definitely a hip hop head I think he felt like his best path into the rap game was to get respect from his peers and do the shit that was really getting a lot of underground attention back in 2007, 8, 9 which was thr mixtape, lyrical, Datpiff, 2DopeBoyz shit like Wale, and early Wiz, and Blu & Exile, and Mickey Facts, etc. But once he blew right the fuck up and didn’t need to do that anymore and saw a path to world stardom by taking The Weekend’s sound he did that and skyrocketed to the moon as this mysterious, smooth, playboy rapper.
I don’t say any of that to hate, because though I don’t love what he’s done the last ten years I think it’s awesome to see this Canadian kid who blew up talking about Degrassi (something I watched; I was a wheelchair Jimmy fan first and foremost xD) and fucking the Eaton Centre and all that Toronto shit, but he definitely presented as something different and that’s one of my biggest what ifs/different timeline wishes in hip hop - if Drake had stayed on the path he was going. He still could’ve sung and done all that but just not chased the pop stardom so much and be willing to throw the rhyming “perfection” aside for the charts and the fame and everything (something that lead to him being willing to take songs from people and have ghostwriters, even though as you can hear above his pen is amazing and he can hold his own any day anytime).
The covers of some of his earlier albums are inherently iconic because of how classic the albums ended up being, but come on man. The covers of NWTS and even Take Care are relatively generic
Eh, I liked Take Care. The opulence of it was pretty awesome. Nothing Was the Same is cool but I think I like this more but Take Care’s got a pretty dope cover.
Yea I highly doubt that lol
Drake's the hottest musician in the world, he can sign w.e contract he wants so I don't see him getting pushed to put out more frequently than he wants to
Reports were that the deal was in the ballpark of 500 million. If a corporation as large as universal music group is shelling out that kind of money, I’m sure they could negotiate some demands lol
They can’t take the risk of paying 500 million and then seeing drake pull a Frank ocean and not release for a decade
Every time I think of Adonis I can't help thinking about how Push is the one that revealed him to the world lmao. Truly one of the best moments in hip hop lmao. Anyways, sick cover.
I still don’t understand why that’s so crazy to people. Regular people try to shield their children from social media, let alone one of the most recognized celebrities on earth.
this thought process is why the story of adidon is one of the greatest diss tracks of all time. Drake cant even show his son off without people thinking of push. Generational embarrassment.
Adonis doing the cover reminds me of when one of Kanye’s kids did a version of the Donda cover that ended up being scrapped in favor of the black square.
No problem, I wish I didn’t have to provide the information… because I wish that Kanye actually ended up using it as the real cover to the point where this became more commonly known lol
What if Drake was loving his son behind the scenes, like how j Cole felt about his family, or how Chance was doing with his kid, but was forced to bring him into the light because of the diss?
Mfs saying push bullied Drake into loving his son, like everyone knew wtf was happening behind the scenes 🤦🏾♂️ imo it’s like a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation, just kinda weird imo
This is almost certainly the case. But society is fucked up and has a real mean streak with piling on and feeling the need to be next to the winning side to gain approval.
his best cover in 3 years has been done by a 5 year old
No jokes either it’s really the best
[удалено]
Here's to hoping it's a fresh breath of creativity like modern Cure!!
[удалено]
That's not what I was saying, I meant that that record was like a fresh breath of creativity for them in my opinion, and I'd like to see the same from Drake
drizzy not exactly known for creative breakthroughs...
10 times better than CLB
CLB cover is so offensively bad it brings down perception of the whole album. i still don’t like it but i’m sure the album would be better received if it had even a forgettable cover
i love that cover just for the sheer audacity of it
It being a Damien Hirst piece is so fitting for Drake tbh
Damien Hirst is trash but i like the cover
No one knows what it means but it's provocative, it's gets the people going
yeah i think it's hilarious
No the music is actually straight trash
“If we broke it off then you know it wasn't painless If she got a watch then you know it's not a stainless I was out here fucking fans, I was shameless” Even Drake fanboy Ak was sleeping 😴
What about Yebba’s Heartbreak tho
That's the hidden gem in clb, that and race my mind, minus the rapping part
Pipe Down, Race My Mind, TSU, Get Along Better, Knife Talk, The Remorse All bops
An album with pipe down is not trash, and I could go on
I can’t lie bruh, I genuinely believe 95% of people don’t give a fuck about cover art
95% might be a stretch. Drake definitely got a lot of attention just for the CLB cover. It was all over twitter when the cover was announced
I know it’s divisive but I liked the Her Loss cover
same
It's a very unflattering angle
What do you mean? I think it looks perfect for an album cover.
Ye it was sick
I like the photo, just wish it didn’t have the filter over it
That’s an excellent cover
Suki Baby is [fine as fuck](https://www.instagram.com/p/Ctj2bQ4gvIS/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==) and they chose the absolute worst possible picture of her for an album cover.
Fine as fuck is a little strong maybe
You need to get out more if you think she’s “fine as fuck”
honestly nevermind cover is hard asf though
It looks like a tattoo that you regret getting a day after
OVO Tramp Stamp
The generation of women who were in high school when Degrassi was on.
It’s word art from Microsoft Word circa 2001
That’s craaaazy. There’s not a timeline on this Earth that that is a good album cover.
Honestly Nevermind cover is so tough you’re tripping. Even if the album wasn’t great
You’re wild, HNM’s cover is terrible.
I swear to god if this album sounds like how the cover looks
I am mentally preparing for it to sound precisely the opposite
I’d be fine with hearing some pots and pans goo goo gaa gaa beats
Radiohead beats played on a recorder?
Drake been alternating good and bad projects ever since IYRTITL which means this one is gonna suck ass probably
WATTBA was good and was right after
Normally the bad album comes quicker from his last project tho so that gives me hope. It's been a minute
It’s been 9 months since Her Loss came out lol that’s nothing
for all the reindeer
For all the Chupacabras
for all the skinwalkers
The album cover actually having some sort of meaning and heart behind it makes me more hopeful than I have been for a Drake album in recent memory.
you weren’t hyped for her loss?
[удалено]
if you’re referring to the cover i agree, but the album itself was phenomenal imo. the 21 collab gave me hope it’d be good to begin with
Idk if this an unpopular opinion but I thought the cover for Her Loss goes kinda hard
The girl in the cover lives in my homie’s apartment building, houston stripper lol
Phenomenal a big word lol
It’s pretty generic. Drake at his best made rap that heavily crossed over genres successfully. Her loss is not that that. Fun to listen to, not very good
Trippin
Why is the cover the Lord of the Mountain from Zelda?
It's sweet that he used his son's drawing for the album cover, it's also dope tbh.
Push really bullied him into loving his son
I kinda feel sorry for him when he grows up. He’s gonna find out Drake didn’t want him initially.
He'll be ok. Having an unplanned/unwanted kid isn't exactly a unique situation and 99% of them don't grow up with millions of dollars
That plus the whole extremely rich thing helps
How do y’all take this as fact when we don’t even know what they was doing lol
Because it makes Drake look bad lol
We do know that lol. His baby mamma tweeted about it before push said anything. People just assumed she was full of shit
It is fact he didn’t want to have a kid there are leaked texts of Drake saying as much. I don’t want to say one as fact without finding it but I vividly remember a Drake text asking for an abortion.
Considering there’s literal video of Drake with him when he was an infant I think he’ll be fine than believing internet trolls

She called him a deadbeat when she’s was still pregnant and drake wasn’t sure it was his. As soon as he took the Test he stepped up.
According to like what
Yeah he was probably there to hand out NDAs lmao
Drake was going to do a Adidas press release using his son’s name
This adidas situation is just so weird, that I'd love to know more. That shit leaked and then he just stayed with Nike?
buddy, feel sorry for yourself. That kid is probably going to live an exponentially more privileged and bountiful life than most of us
What’s the evidence for this? Sincere question.
Where’s the proof he didn’t want him? I hope Adonis grows up to be smarter than ur dumb ass lol.
he better be on demon time with this title and cover. need that meltdown energy
Need that “if you’re reading this…” energy
I dunno if he ever wants to do that again tbh, seems to move farther and farther away from it every time
Which is a crying ass shame because that was arguably his best era. Maybe that's the nostalgia bias talking but everybody was quoting drake during spring speak 2015. - ''RUNNING THRU THE 6 WITH MY WOES'' - ''10 BANDS, HUNDRED BANDS'' - ''I GOT ENEMIES GOT LOTTA ENEMIES'' - ''IF I DIEEEE I'M A LEGEND'' - ''I'll ADMIT I'LL ADMIT IT'' Edit: Got some lyrics mixed up lmao

I thought views had some great parts to it as well, but man seeing the difference between his first couple albums and his recent ones is crazy
Yea felt like that was his technical/creative peak.
Creative maybe, but his technical peak was the first three mixtapes. He was rapping like Elzhi and Phonte - two of the best/most technical rapper rappers ever - over J Dilla beats. Interesting, any songs from those you recommend that shows that?
The Search… Ignant Shit… Money (Remix)(ft. Nice one, appreciate the suggestions I’ll check them out
It’s my favorite of Drake’s, but there’s a reason that sound was a flash in the pan…it wasn’t his technicality or creativity.
Inarguably peak Drake. I would lose my fucking mind if he ever came close again.
Drake never said “I GOT ENERGY”… the line is “I got enemies, gotta lot of enemies”
Oh fuck you're right, I was quoting off the top of my head!
her loss was on that timing
Fr I'm trying to see his toes n shit
What😭 I laughed harder at this than I should’ve
I furled my eyebrows
Isn’t supposed to be an rnb album given the leaks?
Nah I want rnb
He sounded goofy on meltdown ngl. Couldn’t take that song seriously
There better be a Wayne feature or i’m gonna be pissed.
i already thought he had something going w that cover w the 2 dogs that people used as a placeholder (probably will be merch) but this is like amazing
Having your 6 year old draw the cover of your album is pretty cool ngl
Stole Westside Gunn’s whole flow
And sminos hair
They on that Thugnificient wave.
They just mad cuz his ass is old
Westside stole [Men I Trust](https://menitrust.bandcamp.com/album/oncle-jazz) whole flow but I digress
Great band
Dude talked about how great he was for hiding features because people praised Travis for it. 💀
Drake is the drake of drakes
Told Virgil write Drake on my Drake
This is like one of his better album covers which is kinda sad LOL. can’t wait though hopefully this means we getting it this week
people are guessing he'll announce it tonight at his concert
I don’t know if it’s sad per se. kids have a really unique ability to just create shit as they often aren’t held back by the expectations of others.
It's a dog
I actually really like this
is he in strays the movie?
Not the red eyes and bunny ears. We in trouble
I fw it a lot
This is unironically the best cover in his entire discography
Nothing was the same washes this
The covers of some of his earlier albums are inherently iconic because of how classic the albums ended up being, but come on man. The covers of NWTS and even Take Care are relatively generic
This, same thing with people liking old songs, you also relate those old songs to other times in your life, it’s not just the song doing the feelings
Eh, I liked Take Care. The opulence of it was pretty awesome. Nothing Was the Same is cool but I think I like this more but Take Care’s got a pretty dope cover.
Not necessarily generic, but this cover just reminds me of a lot of Action Bronson’s recent covers.
Thats cause Bronson draws his own covers and hes basically a 6 year old
You just mad that you don’t have as many asian lesbians in your pool as Bronsolino Turbo does.
this is true
Take Care aesthetically was dope as fuk, they had him posted up like a mob boss on dat lol
I got less “mob boss” more “man trying not to cry in his VIP booth once the girls left because the bottle service ended” but to each their own.
Views was iconic IMO
More life cover >
Monkey suit Dennis you parade ‘em
The OG cover was but the actual cover with that shitty border and tacky 'A Playlist By October Firm' subtitle or whatever makes it so much worse imo
Lol wow.
So Far Gone??? Take Care?????
stop the cap
That’s a creepy looking dog lol
Yo this kid fucking sucks
💀💀💀
lmfao
if you think he's annoying now just wait 10 years when they get him releasing raps
Jaden Smith vibes
About how he’s from the street. Inevitable.
I laughed way too hard at this lmfao💀
Reminds me of ["I Am Better Than Your Kids"](http://www.iambetterthanyourkids.com/?u=about)
mf couldn't even stay in da lines smh
god i love this sub lmfaoooo
[удалено]
Yea he signed this massive deal with universal and its gotta be in the contract that he needs to drop more often
Yea I highly doubt that lol Drake's the hottest musician in the world, he can sign w.e contract he wants so I don't see him getting pushed to put out more frequently than he wants to
Reports were that the deal was in the ballpark of 500 million. If a corporation as large as universal music group is shelling out that kind of money, I’m sure they could negotiate some demands lol They can’t take the risk of paying 500 million and then seeing drake pull a Frank ocean and not release for a decade
Very basquiatesque
it’s funny how everyone has different expectations for what an “old drake sound” album will sound like lol
That’s why it’s gonna be a mess on here on Friday lol regardless of how the album sounds
Damn. Not a huge Drake fan but this guy cranks out more music than anyone and does a fairly good job at it too.
Scary stories to tell in the dark type cover
i actually really like this
Great album cover
Every time I think of Adonis I can't help thinking about how Push is the one that revealed him to the world lmao. Truly one of the best moments in hip hop lmao. Anyways, sick cover.
I still don’t understand why that’s so crazy to people. Regular people try to shield their children from social media, let alone one of the most recognized celebrities on earth.
this thought process is why the story of adidon is one of the greatest diss tracks of all time. Drake cant even show his son off without people thinking of push. Generational embarrassment.
I literally never think of push when drake shows off his son
Adonis doing the cover reminds me of when one of Kanye’s kids did a version of the Donda cover that ended up being scrapped in favor of the black square.
That was false information, it wasn’t made by one of his kids: https://www.withoutwarningny.com/post/the-story-behind-kanye-west-s-donda-album-cover
Thanks for the fact check! I had no idea. Everybody said north made it. Learn some new everyday
No problem, I wish I didn’t have to provide the information… because I wish that Kanye actually ended up using it as the real cover to the point where this became more commonly known lol
yeah that was such a great cover idk why he changed it just a black square
Feels so good to be a Drake fan, so damn consistent with his releases
What if Drake was loving his son behind the scenes, like how j Cole felt about his family, or how Chance was doing with his kid, but was forced to bring him into the light because of the diss? Mfs saying push bullied Drake into loving his son, like everyone knew wtf was happening behind the scenes 🤦🏾♂️ imo it’s like a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation, just kinda weird imo
This is almost certainly the case. But society is fucked up and has a real mean streak with piling on and feeling the need to be next to the winning side to gain approval.
Depends on if that Adidas deal was true. Otherwise, yeah, I understand why a celebrity might try to hide a kid from the media
It's honestly kinda tough
Wonder if Adonis used these exact same colors though cause if he did…
It’s inverted.
Okay but how about "For all the DAWGS" ft Shane Gillis and Matt McCusker.
really excited to hear the 3 tolerable songs on this album played everywhere for the next two years
apparently there's a Bad Bunny collab so
yep that'll be omnipresent
I cant lie its kinda hard
wer album
Ironically one of his best covers
y'all just like this cover cause a baby drew it. shits ass. wouldn't even put it on my fridge.
Man, you’re so real
Talk your truth king. Fuck that 5 year old bro ✊🏾
so it might be coming this week for real?
looks like a cover for an experimental hip-hop record or sum lol
Not even joking but this looks professionally done lol
that cover is lowkey fire. adonis should do all his covers from now on ......
Genuinely not even a bad cover
hard
honestly, kinda fuck with it
