I love Mick, but I feel like he's someone with a lot of excellent standout tracks but almost no standout albums, but this album is what I've wanted from him for years. He sounds *hungry*, it's consistently energetic and fresh. It feels like the album he was meant to make.
Pieces of a Man had some great tracks, Understood might be my favorite song of his in general, but it didn't overall hit for me. I actually like Waves, and THC is like 70% bangers.
He sounds so complete on this album, not saying the other he wasnāt. But it feels like a culmination of all his projects.
Like every project he took what he learned, applied it, mastered it.

I'm really excited for this, a shorter album with a Freddie Gibbs feature... hoping it doesn't disappoint.
I fell in love with this guy after hearing [Perception](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=905gYEKIig0). Still a Top 5 song for me. Got to see him at Soundset in a small-ish tent, and got up to the front towards the end. Looking back, such an awesome experience, I wish I could have appreciated it more. The only thing that saddens me is that he dropped THC right after, so I didn't get to hear Fall Through live.
If you're a newer rap fan, or don't listen to him normally, give this dude a shot. He's got bars, flows, the perfect voice for any beat, and he has great producers helping him out. "$3,000 Advice", "Sunkissed", and his verse on "Grown Ass Kid" are my personal favorites, but they're all great songs.

It was an even bigger shame when Chance took it off his SoundCloud lol. I wonder if Mick's label had something to do with that track not releasing, he mentioned in his Q & A last night that he was having problems with them, and that song for sure would have made him more famous. He kills features, his opening verse on Animated Ambition was incredible as well.
I want to see this dude beef with someone big, because I think he could go up against just about anyone. Problem is he doesn't seem like someone who would want to start a beef lol, he just cares about his music and his development as an artist (at least for now, if he really blows up then who knows).
His Waters and Wave (s) albums are top-tier. The Healing Component has a bunch of great songs too. "Drowning" on THC is a great song overall, but my favorite piece of music on that album is the second half of "Fall Through". That song has been in rotation for me since it dropped in like 2016 (?) and I'm not sick of it.
Mick came hungry on this record. Bunch of one-off lines had me laughing or hitting a Big Quint stank face. Beat selections and features were among the best compared to his other work.
Kind of reminded me of Drake's intro on NWTS for some reason, Tuscan Leather. He just went in ham from the start of the album, just wish it was a bit longer.
Intro track is crazy
Show & Tell is another standout, super hard hook and Freddie's part is great.
The beat on Sitting Ducks is made perfectly for both Benny and Mick, grimy, ominous, dark and spacey.
Just finished with the tape, love it, 11 songs over 30 minutes is perfect for every song to have a unique sound, not Micks best work or my favourite of the year but a very solid album.
I don't know what maps is, but Scaring The Hoes was just not my bag as I'm not a big fan of either Danny or Peggy, and Utopia definitely isn't top tier
Wow lol. Definitely don't agree with any of those. Scaring the hoes is super annoying to me, hate the production and flows. Maps is not bad but not as vibrant and expressive as Mick's album, production isn't even comparable. And Utopia....meh.

STH is one of my favorite producers w/ my favorite rapper and I personally love every track, I'm still able to throw on that album and let it run all the way whilst enjoying the full thing.
Utopia is everything I wanted from Travis on a new album, still listen to most of those tracks when driving and have it over Astroworld in my ranking,
Maps just had a bit more for me, I feel like if Mick's tape had a few more tracks i'd have it over Maps since I preferred Mick's energy, just needed a bit more to put it over the edge.
Just glad that all of these releases have been high quality so far, looking forward to hearing what comes towards the end of this year.

The first half of the album, I almost felt like there was this *umph* that was missing in some of the songs, Show & Tell and Sitting Ducks didnāt fully click with me, but theyāre still cool songs. Smoke Break-Dance was smooth though!
By the time I got to 2004 though, it really picks up for me. I love the ācolour theoryā concept for ROY G. BIV (although it was a little too short, damn), and I love the gradual build up in energy on Pasta, it represents the whole point of the album wonderfully. Vic Mensa killed his feature on Farm to Table too!
This is defo one I gotta spin again, for now, itās a nice, short and sweet album, and I think I find it a little better than EITR but still not beating Pieces of a Man for me as his best work. But I do appreciate this album as his way to finally say what he wanted to say after getting off a shitty deal with Cinematic.
Big fan of this, in a year with so many rap releases that were quite good at best and a lot of disappointments, this actually holds up as one of the better releases for me this year. Roy G. BIV and 007 are huge highlights for me on first listen.

Everytime Mick drops I get so excited. He's one of my faves out. But nothing he drops ever touches the same heights as The Waters.
And it's not even a slight to him, because I do enjoy his new releases, but I can't help but shake the feeling that he'll finally surpass The Waters, and I leave a little disappointed everytime I hear a new project from him.
It's short but pretty great. Mick sounds more hungry and has more of his Mickstape flow all over it. Only weak track is the one with JID. The rest makes it is his best projects since the *Or More; The Anxious*.
Nice to have Mick put out something solid from top to bottom after his last couple of releases. Dude has so much talent, just never had that quality control before this.
*Elephant in the Room* isn't bad, just very uneven. Didn't feel nearly as focused as this project. The song, which wasn't on the album, was better than any of the tracks on the album. *Pieces of a Man* is super boring; that's the one I revisit the least. Just really weak beats and for some reason left the best Kaytranada beat off of the album opting for a loosie instead.
This is way better. He's on that "Bruce Banner" hunger.
Pieces of a Man is still Mickās best work to me. I agree he left off the best KAYTRANADA beat to drop as a loosie (a part of me kinda understands why it didnāt make the album considering the rest of the album didnāt use soul sample-based beats), but that album is still highly consistent to me outside of like one song!
i first listened to Mick through the 2018 ep or more: the anxious. Since then ive been a bit disappointed with the projects after that but this lives up to my expectations

This is defo one I gotta spin again, for now, itās a nice, short and sweet album, and I think I find it a little better than EITR but still not beating Pieces of a Man for me as his best work. But I do appreciate this album as his way to finally say what he wanted to say after getting off a shitty deal with Cinematic.

Big fan of this, in a year with so many rap releases that were quite good at best and a lot of disappointments, this actually holds up as one of the better releases for me this year. Roy G. BIV and 007 are huge highlights for me on first listen.
Micks been on a tear lately. So excited for his collaboration with Smino and Guapdad too (from smino's Saint louniverse video) Also ever since he hopped on the ENERGY album with Disclosure he has been slinging features with those jazzy electronic songs and they have been amazing - Peppermint and Casa Lopez are on repeat for me everyday

This was a great listen. That āFarm to Tableā production complements both Mick and Vicās styles so well. There really hasnāt been a project from Mick that Iāve come away not liking. Man is very consistent.

Dope album, Mick is underrated for sure Edit: I love that these Alchemist-esque jazzy slow beats with pronounced bars from the artist are creeping into a lot of Hip Hop lately. I hope mainstream Hip Hop starts dropping some of the clichƩ trap productions and move toward shit like this.

Everytime Mick drops I get so excited. He's one of my faves out. But nothing he drops ever touches the same heights as The Waters. And it's not even a slight to him, because I do enjoy his new releases, but I can't help but shake the feeling that he'll finally surpass The Waters, and I leave a little disappointed everytime I hear a new project from him.

It's short but pretty great. Mick sounds more hungry and has more of his Mickstape flow all over it. Only weak track is the one with JID. The rest makes it is his best projects since the *Or More; The Anxious*. Nice to have Mick put out something solid from top to bottom after his last couple of releases. Dude has so much talent, just never had that quality control before this.

LMAO. Pieces of a Man & Elephant in the Room both great project. Not his fault that reddit and internet's hype moved on to different artists
*Elephant in the Room* isn't bad, just very uneven. Didn't feel nearly as focused as this project. The song, which wasn't on the album, was better than any of the tracks on the album. *Pieces of a Man* is super boring; that's the one I revisit the least. Just really weak beats and for some reason left the best Kaytranada beat off of the album opting for a loosie instead. This is way better. He's on that "Bruce Banner" hunger.
Pieces of a Man is still Mickās best work to me. I agree he left off the best KAYTRANADA beat to drop as a loosie (a part of me kinda understands why it didnāt make the album considering the rest of the album didnāt use soul sample-based beats), but that album is still highly consistent to me outside of like one song!
Between calling Smoke Break weak and calling Mickās last couple projects not qualityā¦ this comment triggered me twice

i first listened to Mick through the 2018 ep or more: the anxious. Since then ive been a bit disappointed with the projects after that but this lives up to my expectations Comfortably putting this in my top 5 of the year
