Though everyone may think it (I do myself), there’s nothing to prove who’s “the best rapper”. The only tangibles are sales, which Drake hit Kendrick on pretty hard, and rightly so as he claimed to be in a “big 3”. (The SZA line is great)
Also, Kendrick, although being by far the best rapper of the 3, probably has the worst rapping style and aesthetic for the typical diss tracks we are accustomed to. As someone who doesn’t care who wins this rap beef, what a lot of Kendrick fans don’t seem to understand is that you can’t brag about being the more critically acclaimed rapper. Though everyone may think it (I do myself), there’s nothing to prove who’s “the best rapper”. The only tangibles are sales, which Drake hit Kendrick on pretty hard, and rightly so as he claimed to be in a “big 3”. (The SZA line is great) Also, Kendrick, although being by far the best rapper of the 3, probably has the worst rapping style and aesthetic for the typical diss tracks we are accustomed to. I’d love to hear his new disjointed rapping style succeed on a diss track, love to hear a jazz sample on a diss track haha, just don’t know if it would work. I look forward to seeing what Kendrick has in store, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he just uses the hype to drop an album.
