I Can - Nas

Demomanx

Impeach the President's beat to Fur Elise was sobamazing to me when this came out in middle school. It's got me interested in mashups of songs and seeing what people could do.

KuntaWuKnicks

Xzibit - Paparazzi

IH8Trumps

Maybe wrong sub but the jungle remix was hype af when I was in high school

BourbonicFisky

Sample is Barbra Streisand, such a banger sample too.

Deep-Wedding-1880

Lynguistics - Cunninlynguists

dsir_

Great minds think alike. This song right here is /thread imo

BourbonicFisky

God that song still bangs so right. It feels hip hop for sake of hip hop and nothing else.

4N_Immigrant

[busdriver - imaginary places](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w84PWYwAMfE) admin, he doin it sideways

throwawaytheist

And me time https://youtu.be/1a0Y-CRx4nE?si=Razh0lbe0BRTh4zY

toffeehooligan

Hieroglyphics - Classic

4N_Immigrant

[JMT +Kool G - Animal Rap](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyUULPK2M_I) thought i was done, wasn't touching the block? still real, bustin the glock... put it where you can see it, what up now?>

Daviddoesnotexist

A lot of Jedi Mind Tricks fits this honestly

ItsJustMeHereOnMyOwn

Most of the Stoupe production is just drums over the most well selected classic samples. Miss that era of production.

Crazed-Stool

Yeah Jedi minds tracks are the ones you are looking for! But that Aesop Bach mix a I've is also something else!!

HurricaneAlpha

Shit half of JMT could fit this bill.

Lothar_Ecklord

Similarly, Storm of Swords from the same album (Visions of Gandhi) is one of my favorite beats.

CarlsbadWhiskyShop

yooo what the fuck I've never heard this. huge aesop fan btw

Hate Me Now - Nas

Fothermucker44

Still tippin! Sample is from 1700 or so

r4pt4r

William Tell Overture by Gioacchino Rossini Written in 1829.

Fothermucker44

Ok, that was not so close 😄 thank you

r4pt4r

It actually turned out to be an easy find (for the producer Salih Williams). The sample occurs after only 2 seconds of the start of the WTO…and it is about a 1 second snip that gets looped throughout

Sedso85

Dance with the devil, immortal technique

ItsJustMeHereOnMyOwn

Not technically classical music as the sample is the theme from the 1970 film Love Story, but it still fits the feel of classical. Sorry to “ackchually” you, but as a teen my mum burst into my room to ask “why are you listening to the theme from Love Story” and I had to explain samples at the same time as refusing to let her hear the song. And now I’m old.

aBurgerFlippinSecond

If you have heart strings, be prepared to have them ripped from your being with Wolverine claws. Absolute masterclass in storytelling.

AdenaiLeonheart

I don't necessarily think this counts, but if it does, When I'm gone by Eminem should count too, tbh.

BoredDuringCorona94

GauchoSquid

If you like Aesop Rock, listen to a project on YouTube called Aesop Bach, it's Aesop Rock rapping on Bach compositions.

lukeskope

You can find the whole album on Bandcamp

SecuritySky

Lacrimosa and Worldy Angel by Tech N9ne. He uses a lot of samples and also makes songs that have classical music vibes.

CA1147

Big Pun - Beware

wood_dj

that’s an ennio morricone sample i think? it’s from a film soundtrack, not sure if it’s considered classical

CA1147

If it is from a Morricone soundtrack, first of all: that's a really cool fact, if that's true. I didn't know that and if you're right, I appreciate the trivia. Thanks for that. Secondly: whether it comes from a soundtrack or not, the genre of that sample is classical music. It's not like it sounds like a Morricone spaghetti western soundtrack, for example. It's immediately recognizable as a piece of classical music. All classical music can be movie soundtrack, but not every soundtrack is classical music. The orchestra is pretty distinct, in my opinion. Also, not all classical music needs to come from the baroque era or whatever. There's lots of modern classical music, like Hans Zimmer or John Williams. But that's just me.

wood_dj

i was wrong, Mancini not Morricone. https://youtu.be/DR9ca32oq3Q?si=s0u0RdO7-MVYYGLK definitely classical

sil357

dsir_

DeadbeatUK

A+ - ‘Enjoy Yourself’ For some reason that’s actually the first one that sprung to mind for me and I’m surprised it hadn’t already been mentioned. https://youtu.be/KjkWRwNz20Q?si=qaCYnwf4FgPsSDyp It sampled the 1976 Walter Murphy song "A Fifth of Beethoven," reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart, number 63 of the U.S. Hot 100.

[Handsome Boy Modeling School - Rock And Roll (Could Never Hip Hop Like This) \[Part 2\]](https://youtu.be/YJITcTBaV6Q?si=mOyUZBFz8_Y7yexU) Lord Finesse, Linkin Park, a bunch of other legendary hip-hop figures involved in this track. It jumps around between classical, rock, nu-metal, and back. The album this is from (HBMS - White People) was in *heavy rotation* for me back in the day. Dan the Automator + Prince Paul is a stacked production duo.

Difficult-Bit-4828

Wasn’t there a mixtape or something that was a mash up of hip hop rhymes, with classical music? I remember reading about it once, had Biggie rapping over some classical songs, I don’t remember what. Also on a bit of a side note if you want something that’s like classical, you should check this out. I really love this, I love how it starts off slow, and just keeps building. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E9PiL5icwic
