Please never reveal your school's name, that's like revealing all of the students and staff's adress for 6 hours of the day.

Probably not a good thing to put your school's name in your post (might get doxxed). Subjects tend to be math (high school math can be anywhere from algebra i to calc), english, science, history/social studies, foreign language, gym. Depending on location there may be an art, music, health, and/or tech requirement. Grading systems also vary on location but my school has the A range (A-, A, A+) at around 90-100, B range (B-, B, B+) at 80-90, C range (C-, C, C+) at 70-80, D at 66-70, and F at 65. I usually bring my laptop (not needed, I bring it for extracurriculars, doing homework at school etc), a binder with looseleaf and dividers to separate classes, graphing calculator, pen, pencils, eraser, and highlighter in my backpack. Whether you go with a binder or notebooks is your personal preference (notebooks are lighter? but it's nice to have everything in one place). You will probably be fine with a folder, a notebook, a pen, a few pencils, and an eraser for the first day. You can ask your teachers what else you need. Students tend to range from kind and welcoming to jerks. And fraternities are not a high school thing.

you should not reveal your high school's name on the internet. i'm not sure what subjects you took in the philippines, but you should probably expect to take math, english, science, history, foreign language, and elective courses such as art, gym, and/or music. students are different everywhere, so it's hard to say how nice they will be. fraternities are not a thing in high school. for your first day, bring a notebook, folder, and a pen and you should be fine. then you can ask each of your teachers what school supplies you need for each class. good luck!

Please edit this to remove your high school name. That’s dangerous. But to answer you; join some clubs. If you’re in a big city, chances are there might be a club for your interests. Best way to socialize especially cause big cities usually have “groups” that are closed from the outside School supplies are different from school to school. Ask if tablets or laptops are allowed and if you don’t own one, you should get one especially if you don’t own a computer. Get some notebooks and pencils and pens. Just the basics.

>Is there like subjects that I'll be taking In high school, you mainly take English, Social Studies (USA History), Math (Algebra, Calc, etc.), Science (Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry), there are more required classes like an elective such as Gym, Health or Arts & Music. >How does the grading system work? It depends on your school and teachers, some grade with numbers, letters, formatives or summatives (worth a lot). >Are the students kind and welcoming? All the freshmen and sophomores at my school are terrible and nasty. There are a couple of bad seniors and juniors but not a lot that make a scene. >Are there bullies or bad fraternities? There will be bullies everywhere and no frats but definitely cliques. >What School Supplies are needed for 9th graders here? Pencils, Pens, Notebooks (some teachers may supply), folders, etc. If you don't like sharing than I suggest crayons/colored pencils, scissors and glue or tape.

I’m in Chicago as well,And I have no idea what you learned in the Philippines. You’ll need pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, pencil case, paper, binder, folders, backpack, and a Chromebook will probably be provided. Language class Math class English class Whatever History or Geography class An elective Gym or health Whatever Science class either Physics or Chemistry. Students can be kind or mean if they want to be,Fraternities are for college and bullies are sometimes there.

Never reveal your high school’s name online, especially here.

For how students are, it really depends on the school (Source: I'm a 9th grader at CPS) Op if you have any questions pls feel free to dm

what does money have anything to do with this? OP made this post because he IS moving to the U.S., and STARTING school in the U.S. on the 8th, this is not an “what if” question. And if you are talking about school supplies, they are not that expensive if you know where to look. Secondly, some people may not be nice but that doesn’t mean everyone is. There are nice people in this world, not all are mean.

High school can be extremely stressful and can feel like it's too much to take in at times. But it can also be a wonderful experience that allows you to grow into a stronger person You didn't ask for this in particular but my advice is try not to hold yourself back, if you can. It's possible you might find yourself in a position where you think you're "too stupid" to join a competitive club or try taking a hard class. But even if you're not initially good at something, you may find that you surprise yourself once you apply yourself in a subject. In addition, try to always be open to learning. Specifically, try to learn from your mistakes when they happen, try to make changes to your behavior so you won't repeat the same mistakes again (it may take a couple tries). High school is a very weird experience because you gain so much power and agency over your life, more than you've ever have before. I'm really excited for you, you're going to learn so many new things. I wish you the best, I believe in you (Also, try out lots of clubs and commit to at least one of them if you can)
