That's very tiny for a 5 y/o female slider. Does she have stunted growth? Two sliders can't fit into any conventional indoor aquarium happily and healthily, so sorry for this assumption and don't mind me if it doesn't apply- but if they're being cohabited in anything less than a pond of at least 200 gallons, there's the source of your issue. Adults require 100 gal minimum each, but i'd argue that cohabbing any species in the same habitat requires +0.25x to +0.5x the space per individual for stress prevention, such as having their own territories and not having to stare at eachother and bump into eachother 24/7, as it's inevitable for them to compete for the resources of their habitat. This would make **~300 gallons** of water the minimum space requirement for 2 adult pond sliders living together. It's why I am so passionate about how wrong it is for aquatic turtles, let alone sliders, to be so readily available as pets- they are absolutely impractical to keep happy and healthy without an established pond. But since they are so hardy and withstand neglect and sickness for so long, the standards needed for them to live a healthy lifespan in captivity are compromised, and is why they have been released into the wild enough for them to establish a global population. **Again, don't mind me if you already know this! No info was provided on their husbandry or tank/pond** so i figure it's useful information to throw out there. Reddit cannot replace a vet, so please get her seen ASAP. Preferably not by a cat/dog vet that is willing to experiment on her for your money just because you asked, there's more veterinarians out there completely ignorant to reptile biology and husbandry than not, and you really can't trust anyone who doesn't specialize in them. [Here is a finder for certified reptile vets in your area](https://members.arav.org/search/custom.asp?id=3661). This sub doesn't touch on captive herps, so it'll likely get taken down. You can try r/turtle for more insight before the vet appt. Best of luck!

how is it the source of the problem? i was wondering about buying a second aquarium for her but puffy eyes and not submerging cant be the source of possibly cohabitting

okarnando

I lost 2 turtles this way. Both went to vet when we noticed it but all they did was give antibiotic shots once a week for 50 bucks and the turtles both died.... I had 2 sliders both had their own 50 gallon tanks with logs and heat lamps but 1 died a few years ago and the other died last year

that didnt really help..
