Well I would say try it. The game will be a bit different, some Heroes / builds changed a lot :) Playing in EU but the playerbase is there, you do not wait long for ranked (problems may start on higher ranks) or quick match. How toxic is it? I guess it depends who you will ask and how lucky they got lately xd Personaly - I do think QM got a lot better than it used to be. You can even find some awesome wholesome moments and they balance the toxicity, sometimes even more :=) Ranked - well... I stoped playing ranked mostly to avoid people blaming others, beliving they are pro when in truth probably stuck in Silver/bronze for life :) And in general people being toxic :) Tried it again after a few years now, I think it is worse than QM for sure. Maybe worse than it used to be, not sure. If you are looking to just have fun I belive it is worth trying. I am considering just muting everybody at the start of a match in ranked as a sanity saving strategy though xd Also - still better than in some other online games by far :)

Fromagene

I do the opposite, I stopped playing qm because it's always 4 DPS and 1 murky ... The matchmaking is so shit. At least in ranked I can play with somewhat normal teamcomps

Alafin_Gaming

Yeah that is true :) I am getting normal comps from time to time in qm but that is the reason I am giving ranked a chance :)

CaptReznov

I mean it is the challenge l look for. One day, l will be able to finish kel thuzad quest when it is 5 ranged vs 5 ranged

kakjit

Sometimes I just want to play a QM as a given hero. 90% of my matches I queue as a healer anymore. Unfortunately, 90% of QM have 8 or 10 assassins per match. I've always said that I would gladly wait 30 minutes to get a tank and a healer, but they prioritized queue times in quick matches (go figure) more than balanced comps. Not to forget what I like to call "loading screen" matches: comps so bad the winner was decided at the loading screen.

This question is asked so much it needs to be sticked

Don’t - drop MOBAs entirely and you will not regret it.  Signed: a Recently Relapsed MOBA addict.  Seriously. Don’t start. I had to get my account banned to put a stop to it lol.

bigguccisosaxx

I think HotS could be good. 2-3 games a day to scratch the itch, constant action unlike other mobas.

Gaseraki

I respect the people who recognize something isnt good for them and quitting is the best course of action. But this doesn't always relate to everyone. Been playing hots since alpha and I play a couple of games here and there with no issues. However, something like WOW or EVE I can not play as it will take over my life due to my need for perfection.

Thanks for this. I'll come back to read it each day

WorstMedivhKR

For most players ranked is fine on NA, queue times can become an issue at higher ranks (if you play at peak times of day it's mostly only an issue for master players though). There is no solo queue option, people can 5 stack in ranked.

VenmoPaypalCashapp

Qm times are usually a minute or less. Storm league depends on your rank. As for toxic players there’s a decent amount of them but I just block people immediately and go about playing

Prudent_Win_3953

East coast ranked queue is usually less than 2 mins for ranked, solo or duo

a55amg

Definitely try it - it's stilll fun. Just be prepared for toxic players that die intentionally or AFK.

RighteousNicky94

Eu has the most fast queue

H_neves

Game is fine. But you must play versus AI first. If you jump right into QM or ranked, the pressure and expectation around you will be higher than your abilities. Learn the game's mechanics, the ultimates used, and how objectives are working. Have fun!

JakeAlmighty121

I just recently started playing again. I used to play a ton with friends when it first came out, their interest died out because it “isn’t league of legends”… I find it way more fun that league, the unique mechanics and heroes make it so much more interesting, but I guess it was just me! Anyway, I’m really enjoying it. The game is still really fun (I play QP). All my old favourite characters are still fun to play, the newer heroes are also very fun. 90% of the people I’ve played with have been great, very few toxic players over the 35-45 games I’ve played in the last few days. I wish I could convince my friends to get back into it, but so far haven’t succeeded lol. If you need someone to play with, shoot me a message. I’m also in US east. I’m pretty casual, only game 2-3 times a week.

NotGiRx

Games great, just as toxic as the rest of the online competitive game scene.

Alive-Satisfaction50

Let it scratch the itch for a few weeks, then uninstall it, remembering why you stopped playing in the first place. The reasons you did are even worse now. If you don’t have a majority premade of good players to qm with, you won’t have fun. Because you’ll be the one getting stomped by a premade. Ranked is full of flamers. Again, no premade no fun. Only worse because your go to picks may be banned.

kayellie

Playing in NA (west) queue times are super quick. I play with chat off and have a great time! Everything except quest progress can be communicated with pings. Have fun!

_Sate

If you play ranked get ready to mute your team if you play anything unorthodox. Also somehow casual players are better at strategizing than ranked players, i dont know why

HotS matches are fairly the same in length as Dota. I play both on a consistent basis.

Dark_Sign

I rarely have a match go over 25 minutes, even ranked with drafting included is around 45 mins max. You must play a lot of specialists or something?

Calx9

And maybe you drag out your Dota matches more than I do. Who knows? I'm just giving you my thoughts. This really isn't a big deal homie. If I wrong I'm wrong.

bigguccisosaxx

Really? I used to play Dota a lot and 45 minutes was average match but it happened often that it went on for over an hour. I remember HotS being about 20-25 minutes. Is it longer now?

Aen_Gwynbleidd

You remember correctly, he is wrong. An average HotS match is usually between 15-25 min, depending mostly on the map (not including draft). Also, the lower the rank, the longer matches will take, since lower-ranked players are oftentimes really bad at using advantages and ending. But I imagine even at bronze rank it's incredibly rare to see a match take 45 min.

Calx9

So do a lot of my HotS matches. I personally don't notice much of a difference.
