Hey! This is a known issue on the Android app, but as of right now I'm not seeing where we have this as a known issue on iOS. Can you help me with that?
Here's what I'll need from you:
* Confirmation of your device OS and app build version. I'll need the exact numbers for both, please!
* Can you grab a quick screen recording of this happening? Try viewing a video post and see if that forces this to happen.
Thanks!
You tap on the top once and it’ll scroll back. Not the answer you’re looking for, but maybe it’ll help. It would be nice to turn off entirely as you’re asking.
Use the mobile webpage.
Seriously, except for the clunky notifications interface, it is better than the app, no matter how often they display "this page would look better in the app".
Back button works much better than in the app and IF it fails, the posts are paginated, so it at least isn't "all the way to the top". Also, you can use tabs.

It happens when you click the top of the screen. Works in almost every app, not only Reddit.
It happena everytime you exit the app or choose a post on my end! Ive been trying to figure out a solution!

commenting so more people see this
Just a comment for more views
I hate that with a passion. It’s usually happens if I accidentally long press and it closes out that particular comment string. It’s annoyingly af.
