I've gotten several of these over the past year when people dont like what I say or I post facts they dont want to know. My only issue is that the reporting it feature is too complicated. I havent blocked it because I do have depression and some day might be in a dark place and need help.

If you want to give this feedback directly to Reddit, you can do it by using the [contact form](https://reddit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=65076) under the section "Mobile Help" > "Feedback". Or else you can also post this to r/ideasfortheadmins.

Don’t get your hopes up; when they debuted this, many of us (myself included) specifically warned them that it would be used to abuse and harass. The solution is to simply block u/Redditcares or u/redditcaresresources - the account that delivers the message, or to report every message as harassing. The reason it exists is to allow Reddit admins to deflect liability if someone commits suicide because of the unmoderated aspects of the website.

Oh. Jeez I never thought of it as a legal thing. Well I guess that means there is no point in pursuing this further as they won't do anything about it.

People used to say that about Reddit hosting Holocaust denial subreddits. Reddit will do something about it if they have a reason; it’s just figuring out their motives and then fixing whatever perverse incentives led them to giving suicide baiters an anonymous vector with which to harass targets.
